On the latest episode of the podcast, Jamie just wants to take a few moments to 'Tickle the Monster', Doug's television really wants him to watch Juwanna Mann instead of Near Dark, and we both agree that there needs to be a new Vampire handbook or pamphlet printed much like the Handbook to the Recently Deceased in Beetlejuice. Take a moment to stop and listen to the night, chug that mug of waitress blood, and join us as we take in a movie filled with vampires, explosions and shootouts with cops...that's actually just a love story as we discuss the incredible Kathryn Bigelow film, Near Dark!Visit our YouTube ChannelMerch on TeePublic Follow us on TwitterFollow on InstagramFind us on FacebookVisit our Website

Have you ever thought that you could dominate in the WNBA just because you are a guy? Then we have the perfect movie for you! Get ready for the cross-dressing basketball opus that is "Juwanna Mann". A recommendation from Seth ages ago, he joins us to tackle this heavy material. Why are we announcing a guest that isn't on this episode? Why is Seth in a Starbucks with a fishing pole? And what is Bon Jovi short for? Tune in this week to find out all this and more, but only on "The Good, The Bad, & The Movies"! P.S. Zig's fed up with the media's idiotic eclipse coverage, America was captivated by the Women's NCAA Final Four and so was John - from calls you shouldn't make on the court to calls you shouldn't make during a press conference - this event inspired some unique Zig takes. Kamala gives a masterclass in women's bracketology, some big democrat names are sharing the reality on the ground in the election, Senator Blumenthal suggests a liberal justic should retire, the price of oil and the price of a golf venue expose potential conflict of interest for team Trump and the NY Times is on it and conservative hosts pretend they weren't part of the 'soft on Trump' spirit during the primarys. The Gents start reflecting on how fast the year has flown by as they take in all the holiday festivities before they start breaking down movies in this week's podcast episode. They open up the show with the instigating movie that the Daily Wire released earlier this month, Lady Ballers (7:40), a comedy film that challenges the conflict with transgender athletes. Though the film is targeting, the Gents also point out that this topic has been done before when it comes to television and film. The Gents also celebrate how Japan keeps winning this year with two releases they had this month Godzilla Minus One and Boy and the Blue Heron both winning their opening weeks at the box office (21:00). A breaking news segment comes across TV's attention that is critical to the MCU (30:25), with Jonathan Majors fired from Disney; what will become of Kang the Conquerer? EstoBro acknowledges the Wonka film that is a prequel to the epic of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (35:00), and the latest installments contribution to the legacy of the original Gene Wilder film. Even though it is not movie-related, EstoBro also reminds TV that Netflix has finally released the YuYu Hakusho live-action series that debuted last week (41:15), and the anime fans are really happy about it. Finally, the Gents wrap the episode by talking about Christmas films that are the movies that are not truly celebrated on Christmas (56:00) but are cult classics in households by each family's traditions. Charlotte Smith, this week's guest on “Sports Legends of the Carolinas,” is about to enter her 12th year as Elon University's women's basketball coach. But the all-time winningest coach at the school is arguably better known for her own college playing career, thanks to making one of the most remarkable shots in NCAA tournament basketball history — a buzzer-beating three-pointer that won the 1994 NCAA title for the University of North Carolina. After college, the Shelby, N.C., native's pro career led her to Italy, where Smith was MVP of the Italian All-Star Game in the 1995-96 season, and then to the WNBA's Charlotte Sting in 1999. In Part 1 of our conversation, I talked to Smith about overcoming fear to meet the moment on the court; the life-changing role of coaches off the court; and her being a pioneering slam dunker in the women's game. On Part 2 of our conversation, Smith looks back at the road to her “blessed place,” Elon; getting posterized in the movie Juwanna Mann; and the immense strength she has found in asking for help. For that, subscribe to the show on Apple Podcasts. Sports Legends of the Carolinas is hosted by Scott Fowler. It's produced by Jeff Siner and Kata Stevens. For episode 84 and the first narrowcast of 2021, I'd like to take a few moments to discuss the SLEAZY SIDE of the streaming radio sector. To wit, the heavy-handed attempts of one disreputable label, Kindly Cock Records, to influence the programming of this show. Unlike most of you, I've got something called ETHICS -- not to be confused with a no longer in vogue skate shoe --- and it will take much, more than an all expenses paid junket* to see the Brooklyn Nets host a COVID-depleted Los Angeles Clippers lineup on New Year's Day to get me to play your latest (dubious) conceptual work. You can send me "TERRENCE MANN > JUWANNA MANN" texts all night long, IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.* - MetroCard, bottled water, nosebleed seat
The very last podcast of the year!!! On this podcast we reflect on our podcast moments, we react to the Dumbledore trailer and the Harry Potter reunion, the crazy New York bills trying to vaccinate 14 year olds without parents consent, and how Nate has been seeing consecutive numbers (11:11am, 3:33pm, etc.) which may be linked to simulation theory. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/panana-st/support
Women all love confidence, but what the hell does "confidence" mean? An attempt to answer this question gets into some dubious theories of what women want before degenerating into a very very deep dive into Riri's genitalia. We then learn the origin of Evan's love for Chinese food and motorcycles before diving into an extensive discussion of how our memory shapes our outlook and get a deep dive into Gordon's childhood. In today's tale, Evan decides to "get a girlfriend" and ends up with a real "singer" while trying to rise through the ranks of choir before confronting the ultimate Pan-Slavist. Pop Culture Discussed: Jordan B Peterson, Juwanna Mann, Pootie Tang, Michael Cera's penis, Rheince Priebus' penis, Elvis Costello's penis, and Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape. This week we discuss two films which feature male actors dressing as women. The first is Juwanna Mann (2002), a romantic comedy starring Miguel A. Núñez Jr and Vivica A. Fox. The film tells the story of Jamal Jeffries, a basketball player who, upon getting banned from the league, chooses to disguise himself as a woman, Juwanna Mann, to play on a fictional WNBA team. The second is Dressed to Kill (1980), starring Angie Dickinson, Michael Caine and Nancy Allen. The film, written and directed by Brian De Palma, acts as an inversion of the tropes of Psycho (1960) and has come under fire in recent times for its portrayal of a central trans character. Tommy Davidson is in the Chicagoland area and will perform at the Chicago Improv, Saturday December 22nd at 7pm and 9:15pm. Tommy joined Jonathan Hood to talk about his career in comedy, working for Fox on the hit tv show "In Living Color" as well as Fox NFL Sunday. Davidson also talks about the state of comedy in 2018 and much more. Davidson started his career as a stand-up comedian in Washington DC, earning an ardent following with sheer hard work in various comedy clubs. As one of the cutting-edge, young stand-ups, he was spotted by major concert promoters, who booked him as the opening act for A-list touring acts, including Patti LaBelle, Kenny G and Luther Vandross. It wasn't long before he came to Hollywood and was performing stand-up at a number of clubs, including the Comedy Act Theatre, where he met Robert Townsend. This led to his first national television appearance, with a starring role in Partners in Crime (2005) and was the conduit to Keenen Ivory Wayans, who proved instrumental in Davidson's career by offering him an opportunity to audition and join the uniquely talented cast of the most adventurous prime-time variety show of its day, In Living Color (1990). He, Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans made TV history with their originality. Tommy's impressive film debut was opposite Halle Berry in Strictly Business (1991). He immediately segued into select high-profile films, starring opposite Jada Pinkett Smith in the romantic comedy, Woo (1998) (New Line), and in the provocative urban comedy, Booty Call (1997) (Columbia Pictures). His credits include numerous feature film roles, from Spike Lee's Bamboozled (2000), where he received acclaim and praise for his turn as "Womack/Sleep 'N Eats", to Juwanna Mann (2002) (Morgan Creek Productions') and the pivotal cameo in Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), which has become a cult favorite. Davidson's hilarious impressions of Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Jackson and other icons have become infamous. His visibility on In Living Color (1990) led to three Showtime specials: "On Strength of New York", "Illin' in Philly" and "Takin' it to DC". His elasticity as a performer who delivers on both the big and small screen led to other projects like the lead in the Disney's animated series, The Proud Family (2001), and as a host on FOX's "The NFL Show", alongside football greats Michael Irvin and Tony Siragusa. Davidson also portrays the lead in Will Smith's up-and-coming animated series, "Youngin's" (2000).
