This week, Walt Disney World has (dare we say foolishly) reopened and we find out which Mickey Ears best suit our strange personalities while far, far away from its turnstiles. Then, we visit our own theme park to add in attractions based on the late 90s jam "Virtual Insanity". First up, Jim invites guests into a twisted padded tunnel for tons of potentially dangerous fun but sadly without CGI birds flying at your face. There may still be a blood pool by the couch though, so watch out for that. Then, Scottye takes the video's concept and expands it to create as much maze-like mayhem as possible. Find the cheese in the center of the attraction and you no doubt will win some zany headgear. Next week.... Hamilton.

Ep174: Look at the lights! Our good friend Angela joined us this week to help with the co-hosting duties! We mentioned in the episode that she recently took a trip to the Walt Disney Family Museum for the first time. Check out her vlog below! Just Angela Marie Subscribe to Angela's YouTube channel! Just Angela Marie Follow Angela on Instagram! During the episode Angela talks about what she saw when the stage that was last used for the Mad Tea Party was used was broken down. She described something having to do with water. Did you remember or were you able to guess? The Mickey Mouse fountain was located in front of the Monsters, Inc. attraction. Do you remember seeing this? The Disney company is working on bringing new Marvel experiences to Disney California Adventure (or... should we just start calling it Disney's Adventure Park?). After all, Bob Chapek said so at the last D23 Expo. This might help explain why that Avengers hatch was put in place next to Mission: Breakout. Recently a new patent was awarded to the Disney company for a pendulum like ride system. In the patent itself, there is mentioned on swinging like :"...experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city..."Although it's unclear if that is a literal description of what the new ride system will be used for, we're excited to be getting a new thrill ride at DCA! Check out the images from the patent below: If you're interested in reading the patent for the new swinging mechanism, here is the link:TRACK-BASED SWING RIDE WITH LONG ARM PENDULUM Until next time, here is to beers, cheers and Mickey Ears! °o° ← Ep173: Beef cheeksEp175: You Porthole →[yuzo_related]
You've waited a while for it. Yep, I talk about it all the time and letters and weeks have gone by and I had yet to introduce this one on the Word of the Week. Until now. Get ready…this week's episode is all about your favorite Walt Disney World treat. The Dole Whip is what I'm talking about here in this week's Word of the Week – Whip. The Disney Dole Whip has become as synonymous with Walt Disney World and Disneyland as the Mickey Ice Cream Bar and Mickey Ears themselves, but it wasn't always this way. In reality, the Dole Whip wasn't even invented until 1986, 15 years after the Magic Kingdom opened in Walt Disney World and 31 years after Disneyland's Opening Day. This week I'll give you a little bit of history on the Dole Whip and tell you exactly where it can be found in Walt Disney World and in it's original Disney location, Disneyland.

Sometimes, the very best ideas for this crazy show of ours come from the listeners. A few months ago, we were doing a show about "The Best Money You've Spent at a Park" and we received a call from Deidre Rodman from The Lascivious Biddies. She said the best money she spent was when she and her husband bought the "Bride and Groom" Mickey Ears to wear during their recent honeymoon at Walt Disney World. She said that throughout the trip, they were given free food, free gifts and other special treatment from the cast members at Disney. When EB and I heard this, we hatched an evil plan. We asked our listening audience for two volunteers who would go to Walt Disney World and pretend to be honeymooners (complete with the Mickey Ears) to test this theory. Derek and Trisha from Southern California answered the call and what followed was "The Trip of Lies!" On this week's show, we hear about their trip and find out if the hypothesis was true. Do you get tons of free stuff just for wearing "Bride and Groom" Mickey Ears? Plus, Derek and Trisha give us the scoop on the rest of their trip, including a review of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
