This week, we explore whether style rules are timeless or just tied to current trends. We cover basics like balancing proportions, the rule of thirds, and the three-color rule, but see them as flexible tools rather than hard-and-fast rules. We also touch on how style rules change with different generations and how social media has expanded our fashion choices. Ultimately, we believe style rules can be helpful but should be adapted to fit our personal preferences and not restrict us. It's more about finding what feels right and enjoying our own unique style.Chapters00:00 Introduction and Question about Style Rules06:00 Style Rules as Tools, Not Gospel10:32 Generational Differences in Style Rules13:27 The Influence of Social Media on Style Rules18:53 Introduction to the concept of style rules25:53 Exploring different styles and proportions31:29 The cyclical nature of fashion and style-----------------CONTACT US: sustainthispodcast@gmail.comJOIN OUR PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/SustainThisPodcast SIGNE HANSENYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@UseLess_dkWebsite: https://www.uselesswardrobe.dk/IG: https://www.instagram.com/useless_dk/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@useless_wardrobeCHRISTINA MYCHASYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@ChristinamychasWebsite: https://www.minimalist-ish.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/christina.mychas/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@christina.mychasALYSSA BELTEMPOYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@AlyssaBeltempoWebsite: https://msbeltempo.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/msbeltempo/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@msbeltempo If you loved this episode please share it on your stories and tag us! A maquiagem arremata a apresentação. Base, blush, sombra, delineador, rímel e batom fazem parte do kit básico.

Today, I'm thrilled to share my conversation with Shannon, whose personal style journey is as compelling as it is inspiring.Shannon's story is one of transformation and self-discovery. She delves into her challenges with showcasing her curves and finding age-appropriate styles that still speak to her personality. Her reflections on style mentors and the rules about style and appearance that influenced her growing up add a poignant touch to her journey. What makes Shannon's story particularly relatable is her methodology for shopping and how she addresses the gaps in her wardrobe. This approach is not just about buying new clothes but about making strategic choices that enhance her existing collection. As we explore Shannon's journey, we also touch on the power of embracing one's true self through fashion. Her story is a testament to how style is not just about the clothes we wear, but how we wear them and the confidence they bring us.If Shannon's journey resonates with you and you're looking to reinvent your wardrobe this Spring, make sure to check out my styling program, Outfit Formulas. We have a stylish mom in the house, and at 52-years-old, Larissa Mills has become one of the biggest (and one of our favorite) style influencers. It all happened by accident. Her daughter, Ella, roped her into doing a TikTok that ended up going viral (go figure) and a year and a half later, here we are. We are obsessed with her OOTD videos. We are obsessed with her style. We're basically just obsessed with her. Given that we're slowly settling into 2024, we thought we'd pick her brain on all things resetting your wardrobe for this year and beyond. She happens to be a pro when it comes making basics feel anything but boring. Learning how to stay warm and, therefore, comfortable in cold weather can be the difference between a great outdoor experience and one you never, ever want to have again. And while so much of the “what” of the clothing that you wear outside will be based on your own personal preferences and needs (helpful, right?), there are some basic building blocks that you can lean on to get started. Enter the mysterious yet necessary “base layer.” What do you need to know about picking a great base layer? What kind of fabric and fit should you look for? What goes on top of it? And why do some outdoor adventure clothes cost so much? In this episode Jen Loofbouroow, founder of the outdoor apparel company Alpine Fit, tells us all of the secrets to layering, gives her best tips for staying warm and happy during any outside adventure and walks us through what we need to know about getting dressed for cold weather. Vogue's Chioma Nnadi is a force to be reckoned with—and with Fashion Week and fall on the horizon, we thought there was no one better to sit down with than the very woman who is constantly ahead of the style and culture eight-ball. After all, that's the exact job of a Vogue editor. With a cue from boss Anna Wintour, one must always be on the lookout for what's next. On that note, we discuss the influence of the Lydia-Tár effect, Barbie-core, and Wednesday Addams. Chioma shares her #1 celebrity style icon, young designers to watch, favorite vintage haunts, and why her approach to shopping is emotional. Women in leadership roles are inspiring! It's amazing to think of how our culture has gone from women being portrayed as the "damsel in distress" to becoming female action heroes with superpowers. Last week I talked about how we can get caught up in comparison with our past and present selves. This week I'm covering the trap we fall into when we compare our roles (and wardrobes) with other women. Scripture warns us about the way our roles as moms and wives will be twisted- so when we can be aware we can take our power back from the enemy and make peace with being a mom and our kingdom calling. Hey Gorgeous, Are you team pajama days or team get dressed all the way no matter what? There is nothing wrong with either perspective. But today, I'm specifically talking to my pajama mamas. You know who you are…if some days the thought of wearing real clothes is just too much, then this episode is for you. I have long been an advocate of pajama days, recovery days, introvert days, whatever you want to call them. Over time they have decreased, but in certain seasons I still find myself reverting back to that comfort. Instead of living my life in frumpy pajamas, I have made it a priority to have lounge pajamas that I really love that make me feel good. In this episode I'm sharing why it's ok to be a pajama fan, and why you should focus instead on curating a collection of loungewear that you love, so you can avoid that grumpy frumpy feeling. I know it's common to look in the mirror at our flaws and feel defeated and think about how an “easy fix” like plastic surgery would solve the problem. Listen along as I share my own stories and perspective and a little bit of hard truth about why these quick fixes aren't doing you any good. Get Dressed. Be Radiant.
