Músicas válidas para ser disfrutadas en cualquier contexto, ya sea bajo un día nublado con un café ardiente, como al atardecer de la playa y una cerveza bien fría "El Pasaje Del Aumento" es una colección de ritmos sincopados para un baile lento hipnótico. un accidente de atmósferas opresivas con un sentido humorístico del ritmo y la composición, que se mueve entre el downtempo, los ritmos africanos y el dub. Con cierta suavidad oriental, te introduce en un estado de encantamiento, hechizo... Una inquietud hipnótica y misteriosa, casi incómoda. Sentuhlà exprime su Yamaha RM1X en este segundo álbum, creando ritmos que nunca creerías posibles con un solo sintetizador. Lo hace girar, retorcer y estrangular hasta el límite, hasta conseguir la última gota de frecuencia y oscilación. Sin referencias demasiado obvias, recuerda los ritmos de Toulouse Low Trax o Wolf Müller, la experimentación de Muslimgauze, o la repetición de Huerco S... Aunque si le preguntas al propio Sentuhlà, también mencionará a Fela Kuti, Sun Ra, Can, Cabaret Voltaire, Tom Zé o Lee Scratch Perry... Sentuhlà es uno de los muchos alias del polifacético músico José Guerrero, una figura de larga trayectoria en la ya rica escena underground de Valencia. En esta excursión en solitario, explora las vastas posibilidades de la repetición mecánica, el funk maquinal de los ritmos dirtbag y el boogie “do it yourself” propio de la música de sintetizadores, esculpiendo un sonido sincopado que es a la vez moderno y atávico. Partiendo de un profundo conocimiento y capacidad para comunicar sonidos muy diversos, las "jams" lentas se despliegan en música de baile para lagartos de salón de ojos claros para los que la sordidez no llega mareada sino concentrada. Ritmos africanos blanqueados golpean puntos de placer disco no-wave, logrando la difícil tarea de ser muy cool y despreocupado, pero también ardiente y entregado. Pacific 231 & Vox Populi! - Gole Mariam Gole Mariam is a mystical journey into the musical world of Pacific 231 & Vox Populi!, two long-running and legendary french projects. 3. Andy Stott - Missing Mystery and suspense in this track by Andy Stott's, on the forthcoming album "Faith in Strangers" on Modern Love records. 4. Vincent Gallo - Was Probably my favourite track from album "When", released on 2001 on Warp. There's something odd, awkward but at the same time very beautiful in all the work of Vincent Gallo, wether he is directing, acting or composing music. 5. Subject - What Happened to You? Belgian duo Subject built this brilliant instrumental throbbing Synthy energy lo-fi science fiction around a stone-simple 2/4 rhythm. Brought to life again by the "Minimal Waves Vol II compilation released on February 2012 on Stones Throw. 7. Paco Sala - Rosa x Damascena From the album "Ro-Me-Ro" out a couple of years back on Digitalis Recordings. 8. Muslimgauze - Low On Qat Bryn Jones aka Muslimgauze produced something like 90 albums between 1982 and 1998, before dying for a rare blood disease. All his music was inspired by the Muslim world, in particular the Palestinian conflict and was released on limited editions cassettes "Low on Qat" is from the album Tandoori Dog. 9. Copeland - Fit Formerly 50% of Hype Williams together with Dean Blunt, Inga Copeland self released the album "Because I'm Worth It" came out in May this year. 10. Young Man - Wandering I don't know much about Colin Caulfield and his project as "Young Man". The album Vol I is apparently the second of a planned trilogy and the composer dedicated this album to transition. 11. A short intro to sampling kicks off the chill beats from Wax Tailor. Negativland samples some noise before Muslimgauze drops the gritty dubbiness he does so well. We then soothe the tension with a couple of gentle ones from The Album Leaf and a piano-laden beauty from Ludovico Einaudi. Later we get some old school Senking giving us some quirky glitch followed by the gentle bounce of krill.minima's Nachtigal. The big hype these days is all Boards of Canada and we drop the 10 minute DJ Food extension of their new one Reach For The Dead before finishing up with Montreal's Morbin to take us to the close. January 14 is always a sad day for me because it marks the passing of one of my favorite artists, Bryn Jones AKA Muslimgauze, who died on this day in 1999. Muslimgauze is a huge inspiration to me, and I know his soul and his spirit watches over us all. Welcome to my first podcast! I made this episode to celebrate and commemorate the life of Bryn Jones, aka Muslimgauze, who passed away January 14 1999. There is much controversy surrounding the politics of Muslimgauze and I encourage everyone who connects with his music to do a little searching and come to your own conclusions. Muslimgauze's overwhelming subject matter was the struggle for freedom and human rights. In my opinion he made extreme public statements in order to raise interest and concern about a problem that has only gotten worse since his death. Bryn Jones was a visionary musician and thinker and his work resonates deeply with me. I encourage everyone who hears this music and is affected by it to go out and observe his legacy by purchasing some of his music, either at your local record store or through digital music stores like iTunes and emusic.
