To paraphrase 80s ragamuffin Ferris Bueller “here's where Dan goes berserk”. Weird for him to take a break from mischief making to boldly predict the first half hour of a Scottish football podcast several decades in the future, but there we are. Anyway, if you can make it through that, we promise it gets better, so pull up a pew and join your old pals for Episode 95 of The Dogger Saints Podcast! Yep, we had to talk football. With four mens games to cover, and a look at some of the more contentious elements of the past few weeks, including Levein-ball, the skipper and VA-fucking-R. However, on a happier note, we get to cover a couple of wins for the women's team, covering fine performances against Livingston and Gartcairn, and even have a wee catch-up with *checks notes* centre-forward Nicole Carter. We know what you're all after though. Features, baby! Features by the damn barrel load! We've got them all, including a visit to everyone's favourite talking shop in The Good, The Bad and The Banto, before the Banto comes up trumps in this week's visit to see George in The Royal. We also head over to the home of this year's Euros for a both puzzling and delicious instalment of the Club Shop of Shame, and we have a stylish instalment of Theme Team for your listening pleasure. Buff Sam Miller! House Salesman Danny Williams! Punk Ass Bitch Tommy Lovenkrands! We've got it all and much more, including some fond farewells and a load of other shit, so settle down and enjoy yourselves. Get there! This episode is not sponsored by the fine fine people at Possible estate agents.

Dr. Nicole Carter founded HUES Women's Advocacy Institute to train Women of Color as health and wellness advocates to support other Women of Color in self-efficacy and advocacy. Her work stems from a personal experience managing three autoimmune disorders and connecting with her college students about their shared health concerns. She took on the responsibility of helping the students learn how to navigate health systems. The organic relationships built with the college students were the catalysts in creating the institute.Dr. Carter steers the focus beyond changing patient behaviors by addressing the actions of medical providers. Their provider-based institute teaches medical professionals how to provide inclusive, equitable care that centers on the history and lives of Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color.HUES was founded in the Summer of 2022; they have hit the ground running by garnering support and buy-in from the community. The intention is to continue hosting live events and growing their institute participants. One of their initiatives is the Blooming Circle of Advocates. The idea is that a flower blooms from one gene to help it bloom. It can take just one person to advocate for you or listen to you and change the trajectory of your care. Care should be intentional and thoughtful, which is why HUES delivers education for providers and care seekers.Resources:HUES | women's health advocacy institute Queens Village | supportive community of powerful Black women coming together to improve Black infant mortality from the ground up

When done well, content migration provides a strong foundation on which to build a successful intranet, with the best user experience and longevity. Unfortunately though, a commonly held opinion is that migration of intranet content to a new platform is considered a chore. This episode explores DWG’s report “The eight phases of intranet content migration: How to make the move”, which outlines a model workflow for how to deliver intranet content migration in a project over eight phases and how to avoid unintended consequences further down the project timeline. Right now the coronavirus has brought about a massive shift in the way we work for millions and millions of people all around the world. That's because many companies have sent their employees home to continue doing their jobs. We're seeing a rather remarkable social experiment taking place. My client, Nicole Carter, is the U.K expert on Smart Working i.e everything that's involved in remote working, flexible working, and the technological processes and procedures that allow people to work productively from home while staying connected to the company that they work for. The celebration brunch included guest speakers and friendly conversation. Tonya Mathis, the diversity program manager at the Boonshoft School of Medicine and Nicole Carter, director of the Wright State Women’s Center, both spoke at the event. “Students, faculty and staff have an opportunity to learn more about our black historians and the descendants,” said Mathis. The celebration also recognized students and faculty who have pushed inclusive excellence over the past year. “I hope the participants take away a sense of community,” said Kevin Jones, a senior majoring in political science. The Black Student Union, Black Men on the Move, Office of Equity and Inclusion and the Student Government Association organized the event.
You see the corny comedienne in me come out in this episode. But, of course, there is also plenty of serious, substantive conversation that I have with Dr. Nicole Carter about graduate school, women of color, invisible disabilities, and, her latest venture, Sis, Just Write! that is an intersectionality (you’ll see what I did here when you listen to the episode) of all of these things. Dr. Carter will definitely be back on the show for more conversations, but until then, you can find her on Instagram.

Health educator and coach Nicole Carter returns to the show to talk about the carnivore diet and how it helped her heal from long-standing health problems. An ex-vegan, Nicole ate a whole-food plant-based diet for over 15 years, as well as a year as a raw vegan. She describes how her health deteriorated for many years while she was vegan. She was eventually diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. After many attempts to stay plant-based, Nicole slowly added fish and eggs to her diet, at the advice of her doctor. This helped, but her symptoms didn't completely resolve until she went fully "carnivore" or "zero carb." Eating only meat, fish, and eggs, Nicole claims she has healed from her health conditions, has amazing energy and is in the best shape of her life. We also talk about what the carnivore diet is, the many different versions of it, and the environmental impacts of being plant-based or carnivore. Spring is here, and it is time to talk about fashion. I have two lovely guests who are moms and amazing women. They have also opened a boutique clothing store in my hometown of Lufkin, Texas. Nicole Carter and Sarah Levine are the co-owners of Spruce a boutique fashion store. On this episode, we talk about what colors are in for the spring season and the essentials that every woman should have in her wardrobe. We have some fun with fashion don’ts and celebrities that always look put together. We also share our favorite ladies to follow on Instagram. Most important of all, we talk about what really matters which is the woman inside. You can find Nicole & Sarah here: Spruce Spruce on Facebook Show Notes [03:49] Nicole and Sarah are here. After the podcast, they are heading off to a style show. [04:46] Nicole was a fashion major, and Sarah was a graphic design major. Nicole and Sara met three years ago and became good friends. [05:24] They went on a three hour trip with their husbands which actually turned into a seven-hour trip. This gave them a lot of time to talk about the details of opening up a boutique clothing store. [05:41] They have five kids between the two of them and four are girls. [06:45] They started with a broad idea and then narrowed it down to a clothing store. [07:36] Spruce pays homage to East Texas and they love to spruce things up. [08:44] Melissa loves subscription box services and easy ways to shop. [09:43] The clothing at Spruce is in a range of sizes. [10:40] Everybody's body is unique. It's hard to find stylish clothes that fit. [11:36] How Melissa had a friend walk into a boutique store and the woman at the counter actually said I hope you are here for a birthday gift, because we don't have anything in your size. [11:47] Spruce wants people to come into the store and feel good about themselves. [12:08] Pastels are a common spring color. Vibrant purple, vibrant yellow, and military green are all popular this year. [13:02] How denim also seems to be popular this year. Although, it's more of a chambray. [13:45] Chocolate brown has also worked its way into spring and summer. [14:01] Go to clothes can be denim tops and bottoms, platform espadrilles, and canteen bags. Also dark denim, light denim, and a summer shoe. Everyone needs a black dress and some good staple jewelry. [17:22] Spend money on the things that count like a great pair of jeans. Nicole may not be a lifelong, generations of season tickets Cubs fan, but she is a lifelong baseball fan and she does cite the first time she turned the corner in Wrigleyville to stumble upon Wrigley Field as the moment that cemented her move to Chicago and kick-started her journey to being a Cubs devotee. She swaps dads who love baseball stories with MBS (including the first time they each took their old man to Wrigley), cites all the tiny oddities and large unknowns that make baseball fun for her, and gets into the nitty gritty on each of the NLDS, NLCS, and World Series games she attended (and how she dealt with watching the others in bars). It gets teary, yelly, and giggly in spades. Today on our EnrichHer edition of StartUp Funding hosted by Dr. Roshawnna Novellus we have Nicole, a co-founder of Diversity Photos based in Atlanta. Nicole talks to us about her experiences as an entrepreneur describing how she found a need and was able to solve it by being innovative and thinking outside the box. Nicole starts by telling us why Diversity Photos are important and why she decided to become an entrepreneur. Nicole who is an Atlanta native started out in economic development and thereafter made her way to Atlanta where she decided to step out on her own and create a digital marketing firm. During the course of her business she discovered that there was a significant need for images containing more diversity content which could not be easily gotten from traditional stock photo websites. This gave birth to Diversity Photos and along with three other co-founders they have been able to create a platform to solve the need that she and her clients were experiencing. When asked what has got her excited about Diversity Photos right now, Nicole admits that their idea has successfully taken off a lot faster than they expected, presently they have over 20,000 images on their website and are processing about another 100,000 more. According to Nicole, success for Diversity Photos would mean creating a community of tens of thousands of photographers and becoming a household name for professional diversity images. Diversity Photos is also having an impact in Atlanta according to Nicole mostly in the photography community as well as the model community. By giving unknown photographers and models the opportunity to showcase their craft. Nicole also share with us some obstacles she has overcome during the course of her entrepreneurial career and business.
