Ferrari produced one of its worst F1 cars in 1992, and predictably endured a miserable season as a result. David Tremayne joins Glenn Freeman and Andrew van de Burgt to look back at the attractive Ferrari F92A, famed for its radical 'twin floor', to explore why the year went so badly for the Prancing Horse. We also look at the upheaval that was going on behind the scenes at Ferrari, including the returns of Luca di Montezemolo, Niki Lauda and John Barnard, and pinpoint how this dreadful season at least laid some of the foundations for the brilliant Michael Schumacher-Jean Todt era that was to follow. Plus we spare a thought for poor Ivan Capelli, whose dream move to Ferrari turned so sour he didn't even get to complete the season before being sacked in brutal fashion.GET IN TOUCH: Use the hashtag #BringBackV10s on Twitter or email bringbackv10s@the-race.comJoin the Bring Back V10s Twitter CommunityTo buy some BBV10s merch, click here!Click here to join The Race Members' Club and get early access to episodes Hosted on Acast. The GOAT to meet the Prancing Horse - has there been a more shocking driver move in the last many decades? We think not! Lewis Hamilton has finally given in to Ferrari's relentless pursuit to hire him as their star driver. Hamilton will end his dream relationship with Mercedes at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season and race for the Scuderia Ferrari from 2025. Almost no one saw this move coming. But why is Lewis Hamilton going? What could be the 'release clause' he's triggered in his Mercedes contract? In fact, he just extended his contract with the Silver Arrows less than six months ago. We discuss the sporting and other reasons as to why Hamilton has chosen to make this move. As for Ferrari, why do they so badly want Lewis Hamilton? What's next for Carlos Sainz Jr.? It would be a bummer if he didn't get either of the seats vacant at Red Bull Racing and Mercedes from 2025. He's held his own against the might of Charles Leclerc in Ferrari, what else does he need to do to get himself a fast car? Who will Mercedes replace Lewis Hamilton with? Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the two hotshot drivers are locked in at McLaren for the long term. The other two, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, aren't available either. Does Mercedes want a star driver to replace their departing star? OR will they trust a young gun like Red Bull Racing did with Verstappen many years ago? Apart from Carlos Sainz Jr., the other names doing the rounds are Fernando Alonso and Alexander Albon. But could Mercedes bring Sebastian Vettel out of retirement and if not, give Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 career a second life? Toto Wolff has been very vocal of Vettel and Schumacher's talents. Now that he has a vacant cockpit, will he walk the talk? In this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil Arora, @f1statsguru and Kunal Shah discuss all of the above and more. Tune in! He raced for some of Formula One’s top teams, including McLaren and Renault, but Patrick Tambay is probably best remembered as a Ferrari driver. Having arrived in F1 via the circuitous route of downhill skiing, the US college system and the North American CanAm series, Tambay ended up driving for the Prancing Horse after the death of close friend Gilles Villeneuve. He then helped carry the team through one of its most tumultuous periods, famously providing spirit-lifting victories in Germany and San Marino. This week on Beyond The Grid the amiable Frenchman talks us through his memorable career, regaling Tom with anecdotes of partying with former team mate James Hunt, Villeneuve’s madcap antics off-track and that turbulent Ferrari period…
We're almost a quarter way through the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship and after high expectations, Ferrari has finished with only two 3rd place finishes through the first four Races. With Ferrari having won their last world championship over twelve years ago, and looking back on the last forty years of Ferrari in Formula 1, is it safe to say the Prancing Horse isn't really the team everyone expects them to be? The Grand Tifosi debate between your hosts Puxan and Ryan on this episode of The Grandstand.
Running an F1 team is a demanding job. When that team is Ferrari, the pressure rises dramatically. Stefano Domenicali knows all about that. On the latest episode of Beyond The Grid, presented by Bose, the Italian recalls his 23 years at the Prancing Horse, which peaked with him taking the reins as Team Principal. He delivers fascinating insight into working with Michael Schumacher, during what was Ferrari’s most successful period, and the hurt endured as Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso agonisingly missed out on championships. Then there’s the moment he shook the hand of all 1,000 team members after handing in his resignation from the big job…

Somebody get the guys at atlas as the Pitpass trio of Max Noble, Mat Coch and Chris Balfe combined manage to confuse Azerbaijan with Kazakhstan. No folks, we don't know how they managed to do it either. Maybe it was the threat of losing Monza from the calendar that got Balfe frazzled or the seemingly endless march east the sport seems to have taken. Either way, if you trust the team while booking your next holiday in Baku you're likely to be disappointed. There is optimism among the ranks though. After the Austrian Grand Prix the team are positive about the Formula One, well, sort of. About as positive as they can be with confusing grid penalties that strike them as made up on the spot or pulled out of a hat. It's optimism tinged with just a little fear though. Fear that the powers that be might see Kimi Raikkonen's crash as a crowd pleaser and reason to shuffle the Formula One deck a little, despite Coch's insistence the sport is actually pretty good and doesn't need to be touched at all. Don't worry, we've doubled his medicine. Even Noble is in the act, as he sets about nailing a new pair of shoes onto the Prancing Horse while wondering what sort of fish Christian Horner hopes Ross Brawn is bringing for dinner.
