Dans un contexte pré-électoral tendu et sur fond de guerre en Ukraine, Lauren Bastide reçoit une infatigable militante des droits humains, Dilnur Reyhan dans La Poudre, pour évoquer les persécutions et exactions dont sont victimes les populations ouïghoures en Chine, loin des caméras (10'23). Dilnur Reyhan évoque son enfance dans la province ouïghoure chinoise du Xinjiang (21'10), sa famille, qu'elle n'a pas vue depuis des années (42'40), l'école, qu'elle fréquente très tôt (24'10), et son parcours, marqué par de nombreux épisodes de discrimination (29'59). Après son arrivée en France il y a 18 ans, elle se heurte à des difficultés liées à son statut d'étudiante étrangère (33'42). En 2016, le raidissement de la Chine vis à vis des Ouïghours la détourne des études et de la carrière professionnelle qui s'offrait à elle : elle décide de s'engager, et fonde, en 2019, l'Institut Ouïghour d'Europe. Peu à peu, elle acquiert une visibilité médiatique (41'21). À ses yeux, la cause ouïghour est un combat féministe : stérilisation forcée, violences sexuelles, les femmes ouïghoures sont les premières cibles (49'07). Des avancées sont à saluer, comme le procès, intenté par plusieurs collectifs français, pour recel de crimes contre l'humanité, contre des marques de textile recourant au travail forcé ouïghour (57'15), ou le vote, en janvier 2022 à l'Assemblée nationale, sur la résolution reconnaissant un génocide. Dilnur Reyhan dénonce un manque de considération de plusieurs collectifs ou partis politiques pour la situation de son peuple, colonisé par la Chine (01'04'30). Dilnur Reyhan évoque enfin la difficulté qu'elle a parfois à s'exprimer sur ce sujet (01'12'35), éminemment politique bien sûr, mais aussi, forcément, à forte résonance personnelle et intime.
