The gloves are off. In this no-holds-barred episode of WEAPONIZED, Jeremy and George dismantle one of the most brazen propaganda efforts in recent memory - The Wall Street Journal's calculated hit piece on the UFO issue and the brave individuals exposing it. What was pitched as serious journalism quickly revealed itself as an orchestrated campaign of disinformation, one which seems to have been designed and dictated by one man - a bitter, thin-skinned scientist who seems to have despised the topic he was assigned to investigate but is incapable of cutting the cord. The Journal's first article was loaded with false claims, recycled debunkery, and distortions lifted straight from the Pentagon's denial playbook. When those lies were challenged by military veterans, whistleblowers, and researchers - with facts and receipts - the Journal didn't correct a single word. Instead, they doubled down with a second piece, this time personally targeting and attempting to discredit the scientists, intelligence officers, and investigators who have devoted their lives to exploring the truth. At the very heart of the UFO mystery is the long, well documented connection between the unknown craft and nuclear technology, in particular, nuclear weapons. It is likely the most serious, and most unnerving aspect of the larger UFO mystery. The Journal attempted to haughtily dismiss 80 years of alarming and dangerous intrusions into highly restricted airspaces with a single, demonstrably false, one-size-fits-all explanation. We confront the lies head-on, with the help of legendary researcher Robert Hastings - author of UFOs and Nukes - who brings over 150 direct government witnesses, testifying UFO interference with U.S. nuclear arsenals, and who was recently contacted by the FBI over the seriousness of his findings. Also joining the fight is Marik von Rennenkampff, former DoD analyst and opinion writer for The Hill, who exposes the WSJ's reporting in a meticulous, point by point dismantling of a what appears to be a preposterous effort to reverse engineer the history of UFO intrusions of US nuclear missile installations, a ham-fisted propaganda campaign that mirrors similar efforts emanating from AARO (All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office) a failed program with even less credibility than its long ago predecessor Project Blue Book. Robert Hastings, UFO researcher and author, has delved into declassified US government documents that confirm UFO incursions at nuclear weapons sites as early as 1945. In the first half, he shared his reactions to the recent congressional UAP hearing, as well as recounted various UFO cases. UFOs are craft from one or more other worlds, he believes, operated by entities other than us, and the continued secrecy surrounding this phenomenon is disturbing. Yet he conceded that in regards to UFOs' interference with nuclear systems, "If you start talking candidly about disc-shaped craft shutting down or even temporarily activating our nuclear missiles... that's quite anxiety-producing."Reflecting on the US congressional hearings, he highlighted Luis Elizondo's testimony, who stated, "All of this was for the purpose of hiding the fact that we're not alone in the cosmos." Hastings thinks this acknowledgment is a significant step forward despite the challenges of revealing classified information. "I've never seen this kind of public interest and media interest," he commented, suggesting that the momentum is building towards eventual transparency.He detailed several alarming incidents, particularly from the Northern Tier missile bases in the 1960s and 70s, where UFOs were observed hovering over missile silos, causing missile launch systems to activate. One striking account involved Captain David Schuur, who recounted a night in 1966 or '67 at Minot AFB when "luminous objects" were seen moving among missiles, triggering launch indicators. "They were terrified...Nothing like this had ever happened before," Hastings shared. He speculated on the motives behind these incidents, suggesting that non-human intelligences might be cautioning humanity about the dangers of nuclear weapons. Hastings also touched on how he and some of the military witnesses, such as Bob Jacobs, believe they are "experiencers," having undergone alien abductions.

Capt. Robert Salas (ret.) discusses testifying before AARO. Robert Salas served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force for seven years after graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1964. He served at Tyndall AFB, Florida before his assignment at Malmstrom AFB, Montana in 1966. He earned a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.He also worked with the Titan III Missile Systems program office at Los Angeles AFS.After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1971, Mr. Salas briefly worked as an engineer for Martin-Marietta Aerospace and Rockwell International.From 1974 until his retirement in 1995, Mr. Salas worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an aircraft structures engineer.Since 1995, Mr. Salas has spoken publicly about the 1967 UFO/Missile Shutdowns: On the morning of March 16, 1967, while he was stationed at Malstrom AFB, 16 nuclear missiles simultaneously became non-operational at two different launch facilities immediately after guards saw UFOs hovering above. Together with James Klotz, he is co-author of the book Faded Giant. His second book is Unidentified: The UFO Phenomenon, with a foreword by Stanton T. Friedman, MSc. A third book is due out in November 2023. In May 2001, Robert Salas was one of the main witnesses testifying at the National Press Club Disclosure Event, organized by Steven Greer.In September 2010, another press conference was organized at the National Press Club in Washington DC. I was stationed for a year at Fairchild AFB as a Deputy Crew Commander with the Atlas missile system (1965), and three years at Minot AFB with the Minuteman system.After active duty, employed at Hamilton Standard (Division of United Technologies) in Connecticut as Senior Experiential Engineer and project manager for the development of Air Force Manned Orbiting Laboratory (MOL) and Apollo astronaut backpacks.In 1970 began a 32-year career as a Data Systems Analyst for two major companies in Seattle Washington. And retired in 2002.In 2005 I revealed the UFO incident I was involved with at Minot AFB in 1966. I was discovered by Robert Hastings in 2010 and appeared with Robert Salas at the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure in 2013.Married, with a combined family of four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

When it comes to the matter of informing a naive general public about the reality of the UFO Phenomenon, many more familiar with the topic will argue that the way to introduce this topic to the broader population is to begin by focusing on what are – in some ways – the most relatable, or at least the least objectionable aspects, of the entire enterprise. And for most that means focusing on the fact that we have documented evidence, going back decades, of sophisticated aerial vehicles being intelligently controlled in the skies above our heads. While the topic clearly goes much deeper than that, it's understandable that many would want to focus on this angle. They would argue: let's inform a general public that's been existing in a state of ignorance up until now that advanced craft performing death-defying – and at least based on our current understanding of physics – often physics-defying maneuvers, have been legitimately and repeatedly observed and recorded in and around the atmosphere of our planet. Once that's been established we can move onto the more paradigm-shaking aspects of the phenomenon. Of course, front and center when it comes to those more paradigm-shaking aspects of this phenomenon involves these apparently non-human intelligences interacting – face to face and up close and personal – with a surprisingly large segment of the human population. Here we're speaking of so-called “abductions”, shocking events that involve these apparent “aliens” entering people's homes and often taking people back to the sophisticated craft that have been observed in our skies. Robert Hastings is a long-time, well-informed UFO enthusiast who long argued for just such an approach. He's been known throughout ufology as a nose-to-the-ground, nuts and bolts, show-me-the-data, ultra-pragmatic and hyper-rational researcher, and was much respected for it. Many saw him as exactly the kind of science-based researcher this field – long seen by some as too full of “woo” to be taken seriously – needed in order to establish this topic as a credible field of inquiry amongst academia and the broader general public. Hastings' specific focus, spanning over decades, was on the documenting and evidence-based recording of shocking events involving UFOs making incursions into highly secure and ultra-sensitive nuclear weapons facilities across the United States and elsewhere. Hastings' has been driven by an uncannily singular focus to bring this matter to the attention of the general public, despite what he saw as clear and long-standing efforts by the U.S. government to cover-up such events. As I say, so-called “nuts & bolts” researchers, those who focus on the technology and presence of these apparently non-humanly engineered craft in our skies, long respected Hastings for his pragmatic, evidence-based approach. However, that perception of Hastings took a turn in a surprising direction just a few short years ago when Hastings, along with co-author Bob Jacobs, published Confession: Our Hidden Alien Encounters Revealed. This book, which sent shockwaves throughout the field of ufology, detailed lifelong personal encounters between Hastings and these apparent aliens. Yes, indeed, to many people's shock and no doubt horror, Hastings had emerged from the shadows to publicly identify himself as a contactee/abductee. Not only was this in itself a surprising turn of events, but it raised all sorts of questions regarding the steely, singular focus of Hastings' to bring the topic of what he called “UFOs and Nukes” to the public's attention. After realizing he'd been interacting with these beings for decades, Hastings couldn't help but wonder if, underlyingly, his life-long mission was actually one encouraged and even sub-consciously implanted by these non-human “others”. These profound and far-reaching matters are the topic of this, the 30th episode of the Point of Convergence podcast.

In September of 2010, UFO researcher Robert Hastings held a press conference that consisted of a number of former U.S. Air Force officials who had been stationed at various nuclear bases that claimed to have unexplained experiences that involved UFOs. The former service members described puzzling accounts where sudden malfunctions in missile launch and communication systems that seemed to follow within minutes of reports of strange lights or unidentified craft that appeared over or near their facilities. Recalling events not just reported in the U.S. but Europe and the former Soviet Union, it's difficult to not see a correlation between UFOs and military bases housing nuclear arsenals. A series of events occurred in the Fall of 1975 in northeastern Maine that seem to support the theory that perhaps extraterrestrials were interested in the most destructive of human technologies of the time. One commonly reported characteristic of UFOs is that they are often seen near nuclear weapons facilities. One would think that this would get the attention of government authorities, and it seems it has. Robert Hastings is a researcher who looked into this aspect of the UFO mystery, and his work caused many people, including those in the media, to take a serious look at it. Then, at the risk of casting doubt on his credibility, Hastings came forward with the claim that he had had an abduction experience. While this upset some of the people who had been encouraged by Hastings to come forward with their stories of UFOs at nuclear facilities, one man told Hastings of abductions reported by men stationed at such facilities. According to Hastings, he was sixteen when he first became interested in UFOs. He was working as a janitor in the air traffic control tower at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, where his father was stationed. A supervisor called him over to look at a radarscope. When Hastings came over, the supervisor told him they were looking at returns of UFOs. Hastings was intrigued and was told to come back later if he wanted to talk about them, but when he did, the supervisor no longer wanted to discuss the matter. Hastings later learned from his father that fighter jets had chased the UFOs over the Minuteman missiles that were housed at the base. He then read an article in the Saturday Evening Post about UFOs reported over other nuclear missile sites. He got the impression that what happened at Malmstrom was something real and not unique. He felt there was a connection between UFOs and nuclear weapons, and he began reaching out to military personnel to find evidence. Read more →

What would be your number one technology tip for small businesses? My number one tip would be to check your security settings. If you don't know what that means, find a partner or a vendor who can help you check your security settings. A lot of small businesses, when I say confused, they feel like they're small so nobody wants to hack them. The reality is, it's all automated, it's all a business. In 2020, for the first time, the amount of money flowing through cybersecurity hacks exceeded the amount of money in the illicit drug trade in the world. They're not picking on you, because they want your secret widget designs, they're picking on you because you have an IP address, it's that simple. Look at your security, look at your vendor security. There been a couple of vendors in town, who you know, have been exposed, who've been hacked and once they get through there, they've got your keys to your kingdom. So be really, really careful, only the Paranoid survive. Can you speak a bit about how COVID impacts SMB technology? One of the big ones is the whole work from home thing and the whole remote connectivity, but that certainly ties back to the security factor. Those are all entry points into your company network. There's a lot of great tools out there. We use a lot of Microsoft Teams, and I've been using it for a couple of years since I joined Mother G. Probably the biggest impact of COVID is that a lot of those remote communications, remote collaboration, productivity tools have pushed down into the Small Business space because people couldn't come to the office. By the same token, on that security side, the bad guys are certainly taken advantage of people's uncertainty, people's conductivity, and frankly, people's people's goodwill, in terms of sending phishing emails to make a donation or support people who are out of work, that kind of thing and it's the bad guys trying to get your credentials and empty your bank account. So the security risks have gone up in the last nine months since everything shut down last March. So those are the two biggest impacts is the connectivity stuff and the security risks. What are your thoughts on the future of SMB technology? Not to beat a dead horse, but security is only going to get bigger. The other big thing that we're seeing with a lot of customers is looking at the productivity factors. One of the hidden benefits, if you will, of the whole experience of the last nine or ten months in terms of SMB technology is people starting to think differently. A year ago, there were a lot of small business owners who would think that everybody's got to be in the office and they can't be productive if everybody's not in the office and that's not the case. Now, at the same time, there are better and less good ways to do it. I think one of the biggest things looking forward to the future is how do we, as business leaders, and as business owners, you know, you own your business. You've got a staff of X number of people, you want to keep them both happy and productive, you probably have an entirely new appreciation today than you did a year ago, in terms of the struggle that some of your employees have. What does that mean to them on a day in, day out, based on how can the technology help to bridge those gaps, keep them productive, while helping them to balance the very real, very distinct responsibilities between the work in their family, between their job and their kids kind of thing. So I think the biggest way for small companies is looking for ways to leverage those tools to maintain that productivity to maintain that balance. So whether that's Teams, Zoom, or SharePoint, cloud-based MRP, and CRM systems where you don't have to be necessarily tethered to a local area, wired network in an office, you can access things remotely. Can you share with our listeners one of your favorite networking experiences that you've had? So here's my all-time favorite story. There's a guy, his name is John Mariano and he's an exceptional business banker here in town. So my friend and I were in a group together for a long time and he had his 25th-anniversary party. I'm standing at one of these high top tables and this guy walks up, you know, mutual friends, and there's probably three or four of them standing there. On the table in front of me is a glass of wine, and I'd never met this guy so he walks up to the table, he sets his drink down and he extends his hand to shake mine and then in doing so, blows a glass of wine all over the front of me. The look on his face is mortified, beyond mortified. I just started laughing which sort of breaks the tension. We got to be really good friends, that was several years ago. That's my best intro and we still laugh about it every time I see him now. You know it happens, we're all human. Right? How do you stay best in front of or nurture these relationships that you've created? I think the most important factor there is just to be intentional about it. I have been doing this a long time and you do learn things over the years. Sometimes it's digital stuff, sometimes it's in-person stuff. Having heard some of your conversations with other folks, certainly, it's been more digital stuff in the last 9-10 months, and a lot of people are missing that personal connection. But the way to stay in front, and the way to nurture and stay connected, is just to be intentional about it. Make sure that you do it doesn't have to be a big production. If you're on LinkedIn, and somebody posts something it strikes you as cool, share it, if it strikes me as important, chances are a good enough segment of the people that I'm connected to are going to agree, and they're gonna have a look. Whether it's a personal story, or whether it's somebody's success or their new job, or whether it's a cause worth supporting, or a business pivoting to a new market, share it and share directly with that person. We all appreciate the acknowledgment and affirmation, but I think the biggest key is to be intentional about it and make it part of your normal routine. What advice would you offer those that are looking to grow their network? My biggest bit of perspective beyond to be intentional about it is seek first to help, seek first to give, to be useful. Don't go into it with the perspective of asking for something or looking for something, but being real is incredibly important. Lead with being real in terms of how you can help. A long time ago when I was just getting started in sales there was an in-person networking group I was in. Remember those days when there were actually in-person networking groups and groups of people would gather for breakfast and coffee and they would stand up and do their networking spiel in person? Those were the days. But the whole model of the group was givers gain if you give you will gain and I think that's really important. I think that's arguably the single most important thing. I'm a firm believer in it goes around and comes around and do the right thing and that would absolutely be my first advice to somebody looking to grow their network. Back to your 20-year-old self, what would you tell yourself to do more or less of or differently with regards to your professional career? The one thing that I would tell myself is, when I was in my early 20s, my first job out of college, I had a dear friend, and I'm old enough that back in those days, we didn't have email to send memes round. So she actually faxed me. between our offices, we work for the same consulting company, a poem or whatever you call it, it's called The Station by Robert Hastings. It's basically about life being a journey and the joy is in the trip kind of thing, right? So it struck a chord and if I could tell myself one thing it would be to internalize that even better than I did. It's just a really good reminder and it's that lesson of doing the right thing, enjoy the trip and live every day. But by the same token, don't get too caught up in the minutia. That certainly goes for the business world where you're gonna have victories, you're gonna have defeats, you're gonna have successes, you're gonna have challenges and, you'll learn something from the things that go wrong which you'll apply to make more things go right. Focus on the fact that it's the journey, not the destination that we're looking for. What would be your final words of advice to our listeners with regards to growing and supporting your network? Keep it real. The easiest way to turn somebody off is to pretend to be something that you're not because the truth always comes out. So keep it real, be who we are, if it's not a fit move on, and if it's not a relationship worth continuing then move on, another bus comes along every time every 20 minutes. There was always another chip in the bag, reach in the bag and grab one. So be who you are, be real, try to help, what goes around comes around, and be intentional about it. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the second-best time is today so get after it, and be yourself and go have fun with it. Gunnar Roberge grew up playing multiple sports in Sparta and then Seymour, Wisconsin. Gunnar went on to play football at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a multi-year contributor. He joined SGG for the final episode of our special series on football in the state. We discussed: 1. Starting football at a young age in Sparta, Wisconsin – and being “a big teddy bear.” 2. The benefits of being on a sports team. “The most valuable piece for me personally was just the sense of family.” 3. “A lot of my childhood, and even now, I've tried to seek out positive adult male role models… And luckily I've been fortunate that many of my coaches throughout my football career did a good job filling that role.” 4. Grew up in Seattle Washington and attended Washington and State University; graduating in 1963 with a degree in Physical Science.Served five years active duty in the Air Force, and then served the remainder of the time in reserves, for a total of sixteen years. This was enough time for me to keep my commission and retire without benefits. I was stationed for a year at Fairchild AFB as a Deputy Crew Commander with the Atlas missile system (1965), and three years at Minot AFB with the Minuteman system.After active duty, employed at Hamilton Standard (Division of United Technologies) in Connecticut as Senior Experiential Engineer and project manager for the development of Air Force Manned Orbiting Laboratory (MOL) and Apollo astronaut backpacks.In 1970 began a 32-year career as a Data Systems Analyst for two major companies in Seattle Washington. And retired in 2002.In 2005 I revealed the UFO incident I was involved with at Minot AFB in 1966. I was discovered by Robert Hastings in 2010 and appeared with Robert Salas at the Citizens Hearing on Disclosure in 2013.Married, with a combined family of four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
