Our minds are our greatest tool, yet they can be our greatest weakness if untrained and undisciplined. Are your thoughts “obedient to Christ,” as the Apostle Paul inquires in 2 Corinthians, chapter 10? Do you take time to “renew your mind” daily, as he suggests in Romans 12? This week, Pastor Chad returns to the pulpit for the first in a three-part series titled “Summer Health.” Listen in as Pastor Chad shares, “Capture Your Mind, and the Rest Will Follow.”
The slimy green stuff they sell at the store with the promise that it will relieve your sunburn…won't do much for you. Save yourself the money by tuning in to this episode where i'm giving you actual solutions to that unbearable sunburn. You don't need the unnecessary, toxin ingredients piled into that aftersun solution. On todays Ask Me Anything episode, i'm answering a listener question - what do you use for sunburns? Unfortunately, we probably all know the pain of a sunburn after a relaxing day at the pool. And even more unfortunately, the most popular products that are selling themselves as “Aloe Vera” are primarily water & alcohol with a little bit of Aloe Vera there in the middle and TONS of toxins in between. If you've ever seen an actual Aloe Vera plant, the slime is clear. Not fluorescent green. So why are we buying these toxic sunburn solutions? I'm taking you on a deep dive to discover what is in that green slimy aloe gel. You'll walk away from this episode with products that actually work and the concoction I personally love to keep in the fridge for sunburns. Wendy's DIY After Sun Care LotionIn a 4 ounce jar, mix 1/4 cup each of coconut oil and pure aloe vera gel. Add 10 drops lavender essential oil and 5 drops peppermint essential oil. Mix well and store in fridge. Slather on Sunburns.(Disclaimer: Essential Oils are healing only when they are pure. Do not use store bought oils that could contain synthetic oils and fillers for this, you could make your sun burn worse.)Lavender and Peppermint Essential Oils can be found in my list of Summer Must HavesShop other Toxin Free after sun care options Related Episodes:Episode 16: The Truth About Sun Exposure and SunscreenEpisode 2: The Fragrance Dilemma: How an Entire Industry Hijacked Your HormonesCheck out the shownotes for resources here! Yellow jackets are wasps and are not related to bees. Bees live in hives while yellow jackets create nests. Yellow jacket workers typically have black and yellow stripes on a ½ inch long body. They have the ability to sting several times, injecting poisonous venom that causes intense pain, while bees can only sting once because their stinger becomes stuck in the skin of its victim. Find out how to protect yourself from the stings of summer with Cynthia Brian. August is the hottest month of summer and your pets want to have fun in the sun while staying safe and cool. Heather Brittany and Cynthia Brian offer important tips that will enhance the enjoyment for any of your animal friends. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, chickens, pigs, and goats all have different needs. Water, ice, shade, pools, umbrellas, and trees will all be part of the pet play dates.
