Undoubtedly the worst one I've ever experienced. It felt like a combination of a cold, the flu, and COVID all at once. My advice is the 12 hour real sudafed they have behind the counter. I always go name brand on that sort of thing too myself. Then some Theraflu day and night time. A hot toddy before bed (recipe below courtesy Dr. PP himself). Lots of rest. I had it for a good 5+ days. Still have some remnants. Here's some pics. Here's my listings... Hawkman's Goods eBay Hawkman's Goods Amazon See you all again soon!
Doug is back! And he brought most of his voice with him! But, most importantly, Alice just had her first mammogram. And, number two* in importance, today is World Toilet Day. So enjoy plenty of scatological goodness. The former president ignited a firestorm in Washington with a weekend social media post that called for seeking "alternatives" to the Affordable Care Act, which was passed in 2010 and is more commonly known as Obamacare. fter decades on the market, the FDA declared that the active ingredient in popular cold medicines like Dayquil, Mucinex, Sudafed, and Theraflu is ineffective. In this one, Cody talks to Andre Spinelli, better known as Dre. In snowboarding, Dre is known for going big — off jumps, off cornices, even a lot of the handrails he used to hit were big. It's probably because he started riding with old school Alaskan heavies like Dan Coffey and Kovi Linden. They might not have been as technical as other riders, but they were always charging down the mountain and going huge. Then, after Dre had been riding for awhile and filming parts for JB Deuce, Turnagain Hardcore and Think Thank, pro snowboarder Mark Landvik suggested that he and Dre move to Bellingham, Washington to pursue snowboarding as a career. Dre declined the offer because he wanted to stay in Alaska to see how far he could take snowboarding there. He was also in line to take over his dad's construction business, Spinell Homes. Even when he was snowboarding all the time and filming video parts, Dre worked for Spinell Homes. He'd work his shift and then he would meet up with a film crew to get a shot. He did this often enough to get enough shots for multiple video parts a year. So, to say that his work ethic was unmatched, is probably a huge understatement. Today, he's the president of Spinell Homes. He's responsible for everything from home design to meeting with buyers to hiring employees to land development. That need to excel and go higher has always been there, he says. As a kid, he would jump off everything — playground equipment and even roofs into snow. Nowadays, he's a weekend warrior, riding whenever he can and introducing his kids to it. In fact, his son, just like Dre, is starting to go big too.

On this episode I welcome Jessica Shepherd MD, MBA, FACOG, a board certified OB-GYN and the Chief Medical Officer for Verywell Health and Theraflu's Medical Expert Spokesperson. We discuss the following: Why working parents struggle to take sick leave Racial and inequality as it relates to sick time The American productivity culture compared to other cultures How to change the narrative For many families, it's financially impossible to take even one day of unpaid sick time. Theraflu partnered with Good+Foundation to create the Rest & Recover Fund – a $150,000 microgrant program designed to help offset lost wages from 1,000 unpaid sick days to support parents facing the financial and logistical challenges of taking a day to rest and recover from an unexpected mild illness. To understand societal pressures on this matter, Theraflu also issued the 2021 Temperature Check Report through OnePoll, a survey of 2,000 working Americans, which revealed attitudes, perceptions and racial disparities surrounding sick time. Learn more about how Theraflu is providing support through the Rest & Recover Fund with Good+ at Theraflu.com/RightToRecover.

Hello Defenders! It's been over 10 days since you've heard from us. Yes, part of the time was spent nursing our wounds (and hangovers) from the defeat at the Banc in the Western Conference Finals, but we have also been anticipating the MLS Cup Final between our new least favorite team in the league, Seattle, and our former captain's current home, Toronto. Joining us for a fun, sometimes off the rails, and Theraflu-infused episode are Nina and Panda of the Center Mid Chicks podcast and a friend to the Defenders of the Banc (and Filly's co-worker), Byron Paredes. Our day started with a heavy dose of EPL, as we took in the Liverpool vs. Manchester City match with our friend Al Raitt. After a bit of grilling (and a beverage or two), it was time for the MLS Final, where, for the third time in four years, it was Seattle vs. Toronto. Seattle takes the crown in 2019, 3-1, behind another playoff goal for Raul Ruidiaz, some help from Toronto to get on the board first, and the eventual winner by Cup Final MVP Victor Rodriguez. A late goal from superstar substitute Jozy Altidore wouldn't be enough, as Toronto fell in Seattle in front of almost 70,000 fans. Also on this episode, our apologies to the Hanna family, as Filly prematurely announces the death of beloved animal caretaker Jack Hanna. Scarf knew you were very much alive and well! Hear Nina reminisce somewhat poorly about the times she rejected Scarf's dating advances several times! Hear Scarf cough, choke and struggle to breathe as he waits for the Theraflu to kick in! What a show! With the end of the season comes the start of the madness, as a small trade window, contract extension deadlines, and the expansion draft all loom on the horizon. Rest easy friends, as Filly and The Scarf will have another episode for you in about a week, discussing all the dates, moves, and possibilities. Until then, thank you for your support, and, from a very grateful podcast team, Happy Veterans Day to all our servicemen and women, especially Panda and Papa Scarf. We thank you all for your service.

A 2016 Brown University study links regular white wine consumption to melanoma. Tonight’s the night we’ll make history. Honey, Jen and I. ’cause we’ll, by any means, give you a pleasant time, and stay with you here tonight… …except I drank a glass of Lagunitas Hop Stoopid (9% abv West Coast IPA), 2 bottles of Founders Backwoods Bastard (11.6% abv bourbon barrel aged ale), and a cup of Nighttime Theraflu (100% guarantee of a slow sleepy slide into cognitive-linguistic oblivion, unless you sneeze like Gary. Or Jen. AHHHHH….HEEEEYYYYYYYY!)… …so… …a gathering of Angels appeared above my head. They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said: They said, “Come sail away. Come sail away. Come sail away yinz guys.” Fun times. What else happened? Alan Rickman died, and I wield Snape’s wand for the evening. Additionally, I used the Sherriff of Nottingham’s spoon to stir my TheraFlu. (Why a spoon, cousin?) Any other topics? Yep. Who is the least appealing of the Spice Girls? (Earthy Spice) Jen already makes amazing chocolate chip cookies. This has been confirmed by hundreds of unbiased humans across the past 10 years. Tonight, she creates an oatmeal cookie…and we’re generally not oatmeal cookie people…that is revelatory. How can that be? (Jen’s a baking alchemist. The Severus Snape of the oven. Domo Arigato, Ms. Spatulotto.) Can a man ejaculate while flaccid? (Yes.) Is it a sad, unsatisfying endeavor? (Always.) What’s said man’s history of mistake-sex followed by dramatic fall-out and compounded self-loathing as a percentage of total partners? (50) Is it impossible to keep an alias straight when utterly intoxicated? (Absolutely) You should really listen to this one. That’s it then. Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas. We present to you, “Sloppy Snape and Sad Sex.” P.S. If it wasn’t obvious from the first several paragraphs AND the associated links, this podcast is a Styx sandwich, with “The Best of Times” at the beginning and “Come Sail Away” at the end. I wrote it once and I’ll write it again…fun times.

Today, ladies and gentlemen, is the one-year anniversary of Driven to Drink. (one-person golf-clap applause-break) Precisely one year ago, “A Brussels Sprouts’ Stalk is a Cruel, Cruel, Mistress” was released, and fifty-two episodes later we’ve progressively arrived somewhere much closer to where we’d like to be than where we were even last week. With the equipment and software we have, we can bring you a consistently audible, acoustically leveled, and fairly professionally sounding product. We’ve found our voices, our cadence, and a way to be organized and focused but not so structured that the authenticity and conversational-tone we desire is compromised. Boil it all down to the rock-crystal structure…and we’re happy with what we’ve become and are still becoming. Also, we’re happy and deeply grateful that you’ve decided to journey with us. Thank you. Now, on with the show! The Beers: Jen – Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. No surprises here. When we have relatively little money and don’t want to take chances, we bring home our IPA “go to.” Hell, even when we have more than enough money, we often buy lots and lots of Hop Stoopid. Greg – Southern Tier Mokah (22oz.), then Wigle Walkabout 4-grain whiskey brought to proof with apple cider, then Larceny. You can imagine how slurry Greg becomes, and you might still underestimate. The topics: Last night, Jen had her first Noddy Toddy. I used to call it a TheraToddy, but Jen uttered, “Noddy Toddy,” and it was clear that THIS was the true name. It’s easy people: Make a cup of nighttime TheraFlu as you might normally. Add a tablespoon or two of honey, squeeze in a half lemon, add an ounce or two of whiskey. Here’s the deal, D2Dreeps, if you want to sleep and breathe through your nose and fear you’ll have neither given the state of your head and upper respiratory system, this will give you both. I promise. Last night, we saw the incomparable Bill Burr. Furthermore, the hilarious Jason Lawhead, Paul Virzi, and Joe Bartnick. Holy shit. Greg’s jaw and abs hurt from the minute Burr opened his mouth to the minute the quartet took a bow. Really, Burr is on our Mt. Rushmore of comics…and you should seriously consider him for yours. He’s got specials on Netflix. Watch them. Billy absolutely eviscerated a heckler who simply wouldn’t quite shouting out the phrase, “Swine Flu!” At first he incorporated her brilliantly. The second time, he laid in a bit further with a clear undercurrent of, “Okay lady, leave it be.” But the third time, he riffed on her for like 5 minutes. And she shut up. He also picked up on a man in the front row wearing a Tom Brady Jersey. (Billy Sizzle Tit’s a Boston Boy, what with his cah in Hahvid Squayuh and clam chowduh, fuh feck’s sake.) The crowd booed. “Okay,” I’m paraphrasing, “I’ll let that one go, but if you boo again I can’t promise what’ll happen.” (Booooo!) And he riffed for 5 minutes on Brady, the Pats, cheating in general, the Steelers not-at-all-squeaky-clean past, all the way back to the original 4 championships. Dude was amazing. Our collective comedy histories. Who have you seen? Who do you wish you had seen? Who would pay extra money to see? Jen was vanished by David Copperfield in Vegas and absolutely will take the secret of that illusion to her grave. Jen loves him, and will be buried in said grave with the 8×10 signed headshot of Mr. Copperfield that she received after having been vanished. Indeed, it’s currently hanging on our living room wall. The big wall. It’s the only thing on that wall which all entering the house see first. Squinting a bit, like, “Hey…is that…uh…David Copperfield?” Yes. Yes it is. David Blaine is an actual wizard, at least according to Jen and Maddy. Talk amongst yourselves. That’s about it D2Dreeps, except for the music. “Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen” by Santana…off of Abraxas, which has that album cover that offered a young Gregory Del Duca his first erection. (Explained more in this post: Middle School Erections. It’s a fun read, and not nearly as risqué as the title would suggest.) We present to you, “David Copperfield’s Secret: (un)Revealed.” (Look at that Punim!)
Mark Watney can grow potatoes on Mars but can he make a podcast? Didn't think so, buddy. This week, Bert joins us to talk about chasing booze with Theraflu, Hockey vs. Sports, upcoming shit and Tarantino, The Martian, if Interstellar or Contact had the worse ending, war Films and history, politics and.....(holy shit, guys, did we go off the fucking rails on this) other unnecessary controversial bullshit. There goes our fucking Coca-Cola sponsorship.
In the second mini-episode, “Post-Lebowski,” Jen finds herself not entirely impressed with the movie (…though entirely impressed with the performances, John Goodman’s in particular…) but completely inebriated after four-to-six White (Del Duca) Russians. Now with beer, Greg struggles to make any fucking sense…but that’s not surprising, particularly given the fact that he’s rolling with booze, beer, and night-time Theraflu. Yikes. (Jen, as usual, fucks with Greg relentlessly yet lovingly.) We present to you, “Post-Lebowski.”
