Christmas was over a month ago. We were a little late putting our tree up this year, 23 December, but we did get there. Perhaps we will leave it up until February as it adds so much colour to the room. When we take the tree down the room looks very bland. It's a bit like the tree in our garden I shared about a couple of weeks ago, stunning hot pink flowers and fresh green leaves in the summer, and then in winter - just plain brown branches. That thought leads me to a question, what brings colour into your life? What brings joy into your life? What dulls the colour in your life? Or what about these questions, what dulls the colour in your life? What steals your joy? Ken and I were recently reflecting on our almost 26 years of marriage, talking about the many times we have faced battles that have come to not only steal our joy but to steal our marriage and our family - the physical health battles; mental health battles; financial battles and relationship battles. We know that Jesus tells us in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;" The Thief comes to steal And we know that reading something and thinking that we understand it, is very different from the reality of living it! Ken and I have no doubts about why we are still “standing” today. We have a hope in someone so much greater than ourselves. A hope in Jesus Christ and faith to believe His words in the second part of John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus comes to give us life Life. Over the years, especially with the journey with our daughter and cancer, my understanding of that word ‘life' has changed. Often we are so focused on our life right here, right now. But God tells us in James 4:14 that our life here is fleeting, “But you don't have a clue what tomorrow may bring. For your fleeting life is but a warm breath of air that is visible in the cold only for a moment and then vanishes!” James 4:14 TPT Life on earth is fleeting What we experience here today on earth is only one part of our life - the fleeting part of our life, perhaps even the dull part of our life when one considers eternity. The apostle Paul knew and understood this well. While in prison he wrote to the Philippians, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:13 NIV. Life here on earth is not the end game! There is more. Heaven. Eternal life. There is more If you are interested in finding out some more about Heaven, I can highly recommend this book that a friend gave me some years ago, Imagine Heaven - Near-Death Experiences. God's promises, and the exhilarating future that awaits you, written by John Burke. Our access to eternal life is faith in Jesus Christ, as Romans 6:23 tells us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I don't know what is happening in your life right now, but I do know that there is a God in Heaven who loves you. I know that life here has many challenges and we face many battles. But I also know this, as a person who has been living with faith in Jesus Christ for 28 years, Jesus is our only hope for living life to the full both here on earth and for eternity. There is no other way. “This is the true testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has eternal life; whoever does not have the Son does not possess eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13 TPT Jesus brings the colour into my life Jesus brings the colour into my life - now and forever. He can do the same for you if you choose to receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. If you want to do this now, please pray this prayer* with me: Father, You loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die for our sins so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Your Word says we are saved by grace through faith as a gift from You. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). I believe and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Your Son, the Saviour of the world (Romans 10:9). I believe He died on the cross for me and bore all of my sins (1 Peter 2:24), paying the price for me (Isaiah 53). I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is alive today. I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins and I ask You to forgive me. By faith I receive Jesus Christ now as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that I am saved and will spend eternity with You! Thank You, Father. I am so grateful! In Jesus' name, Amen. Next steps If you prayed this prayer for the first time, I encourage you to do three things: 1. Start reading God's Word (The Bible) today. The book of Matthew is a great place to start. 2. Find a local Bible-based church and commit to attending each week, so you can grow in your faith, be encouraged and encourage others, and learn more about the purpose God has for you on earth. 3. Tell a family member or friend about the decision you have made today to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. I pray that they will rejoice with you and encourage you. *This prayer is based on a prayer in The Everyday Life Bible. To find out more please visit https://drawingclosertogod.org

(English) In this message Ps Catherine talks about in these 4 points: (John 4:5-9 TPT) Jesus arrived at the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. (6-8) Wearied by his long journey, he sat on the edge of Jacob's well, and sent his disciples into the village to buy food, for it was already afternoon. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (9) She replied, “Why would a Jewish man ask a Samaritan woman for a drink of water?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) (John 4:10 TPT) Jesus replied, “If you only knew who I am and the gift that God wants to give you, you'd ask me for a drink, and I would give you living water.” (John 4:13-18 TPT) Jesus answered, “If you drink from Jacob's well, you'll be thirsty again, (14) but if anyone drinks the living water I give them, they will never be thirsty again. For when you drink the water I give you, it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, flooding you with endless life!” (15) The woman replied, “Let me drink that water so I'll never be thirsty again and won't have to come back here to draw water.” (16) Jesus said, “Go get your husband and bring him back here.” *(17) “But I'm not married,” the woman answered. “That's true,” Jesus said, 18“for you've been married five times, and now you're living with a man who is not your husband. You have told the truth.” (John 4: 36-30 TPT) Jesus said to her, “You don't have to wait any longer, the Anointed One is here speaking with you—I am the One you're looking for.” (27) At that moment, his disciples returned and were stunned to see Jesus speaking with a Samaritan woman, yet none of them dared ask him why or what they were discussing. (28) All at once, the woman left her water jar and ran off to her village and told everyone, (29) “Come and meet a man at the well who told me everything I've ever done! He could be the One we've been waiting for.” (30) Hearing this, the people came streaming out of the village to go see Jesus. Keys to taking hold of the healing and hope Jesus is offering you: 1.Come to Jesus 2. Forgiveness (Romans 8:1 NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 3. You are a New Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 4.Jesus Restores Vision and Purpose (John 4:39-42 TPT) Many from the Samaritan village became believers in Jesus because of the woman's testimony: “He told me everything I ever did!” (40) Then they begged Jesus to stay with them, so he stayed there for two days, (41) resulting in many more coming to faith in him because of his message. (42)The Samaritans said to the woman, “Now we've heard him ourselves. We no longer believe just because of what you told us, but we're convinced that he really is the true Savior of the world!”
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 NLTThis means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to himKey Thought:Jesus models for us what it is to be a GO + TELL kind of person. All of the following verses demonstrate that Jesus was famous for using GENEROUS HOSPITALITY as a way to meet people and invite them into moments that transformed their lives.John 2:2-3 TPT - Jesus' first miracle, where He turns water into wine. Luke 7:34 TPT, Mark 2:25-16 MSG - Jesus' reputation as a man who loved to eat with social outcasts. Matthew 15:37-38 TPT - Jesus feeds a multitude. Luke 14:1 TPT - Jesus' teaches at the table. Luke 22:14-16 TPT - The last thing Jesus wanted to do with his followers before being crucified, was to eat with them.. Luke 24:30-31 TPTP, John 21:12 MSG, Luke 24:41-43 TPT - Jesus verifies his deity with food. Romans 16:1 MSG - The Jesus way is generous hospitality “In Luke's Gospel, Jesus is either going to a meal, at a meal or coming from a meal.” - Robert Charis, New Testament ScholarThe Jesus Model for reaching people can be broken down into 4 steps:Jesus MEETSJesus met people right where they were, both geographically and socially. Jesus changed the world one conversation at a time. We shouldn't underestimate the power of simply turning up…to church, to life group and being PRESENT with the people God has placed in our world. “Your presence does more to change the world than your tweets ever will.”Jesus EATSGathering around a table together is the great leveller, and Jesus knew this. From tax collectors, priests, prostitutes, and the poor, Jesus ate and drank with them all! The table elevates the poor and humbles the proud.Jesus SPEAKSJesus didn't waste his words, He spoke the truth. John 8:31 -32 NLT Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”People are looking to find freedom in their lives and this kind of freedom only comes from knowing the truth. If we withhold TRUTH, we withhold freedom and the TRUTH is a person. John 14:6 TPT Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me.Jesus ASKSJesus was always inviting people into powerful moments of transformation. He left nothing ambiguous or uncertain. Today He is still clearly asking us to embark upon the task of reconciling people to Him. Discussion Questions:Your presence does more to change the world than your tweets ever will. Jesus changed the world one conversation at a time. Can you remember a conversation with someone that deeply moved, inspired, or challenged you? What was it about that conversations that made it so memorable? The table elevates the poor and humbles the proud. What do you think it was about the gathering around a meal that had such a powerful impact on those at the table with Jesus? Why do you think Jesus used these meals to communicate so much of his message? The truth is a person. Jesus was very clear about that a life lived with Him was a life of salvation and freedom. If we know that this truth will set people free, why do we often find it difficult to share this truth with others? How could we use Jesus' model of reaching others, through generous hospitality, to speak the truth of the gospel to someone this week? (English) In this message Ps Adrian talks about finding your fig tree. (Matthew 5:8 NIV) Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (Matthew 5:8 PHILLIPS) “Happy are the utterly sincere, for they will see God! (James 4:8 NLT) Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. (John 1:43-46 TPT) The next day Jesus decided to go to the region of Galilee. There he found Philip and said to him, “Come and follow me.” (44) (Now Philip, Andrew, and Peter were all from the same village of Bethsaida.) (45) Then Philip went to look for his friend, Nathanael, and told him, “We've found him! We've found the One we've been waiting for! It's Jesus, son of Joseph from Nazareth, the Anointed One! He's the One that Moses and the prophets prophesied would come!” (46) Nathanael sneered, “Nazareth! What good thing could ever come from Nazareth?” Philip answered, “Come and let's find out!” (John 1:47-48 TPT)When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said, “Now here comes a true son of Israel—an honest man with no hidden Motive!” (48) Nathanael was stunned and said, “But you've never met me—how do you know anything about me?” Jesus answered, “Nathanael, right before Philip came to you I saw you sitting under the shade of a fig tree.” (Matthew 6:5-6 NLT) “When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. (John 1:49 TPT) Nathanael blurted out, “Teacher, you are truly the Son of God and the King of Israel!” (John 1:50-51 TPT) Jesus answered, “Do you believe simply because I told you I saw you sitting under a fig tree? You will experience even more impressive things than that! I prophesy to you eternal truth: From now on you will see an open heaven and gaze upon the Son of Man like a stairway reaching into the sky with the messengers of God climbing up and down upon him!”
(English) In this message Ps Catherine talks about how meekness is not weakness in these 4 points: (Matthew 5:5 ESV) Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5 NASB) Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth. Meekness is “Strength Under Control” Sons of Thunder (Luke 9:51-56 TPT) Jesus let nothing distract him from departing for Jerusalem because the time for him to be lifted up drew near, and he was full of passion to complete his mission there. (52) So he sent messengers ahead of him as envoys to a village of the Samaritans. (53) But as they approached the village, the people turned them away. They would not allow Jesus to enter, for he was on his way to worship in Jerusalem. (54) When the disciples Jacob and John realized what was happening, they returned to Jesus and said, “Lord, if you wanted to, you could command fire to fall down from heaven, just as Elijah did and destroy all these wicked people.”(55) Jesus rebuked them sharply, saying, “Don't you realize what spews from your hearts when you say that? The Son of Man did not come to destroy life, but to bring life to the earth.” (56) So they went to another village instead. (Mark 10:35-38 NLT) Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do us a favor.” (36) “What is your request?” he asked. (37) They replied, “When you sit on your glorious throne, we want to sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.” (38) But Jesus said to them, “You don't know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink? Are you able to be baptized with the baptism of suffering I must be baptized with?” (Mark 10:41-45 NLT) When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. (42) So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. (43) But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, (44) and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. (45) For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Acts 8:14-17 NIV) When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. (15) When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, (16) because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. (17) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. • Speak Words of Blessing • Big Heart for People • Use our Strength to Serve • Placing our Hope and Trust in Jesus
I was inspired by one of my students the other day when she innocently played a on the church speaker, right after baptismal that was BAD! She was a brand new believer and I kindly told her, “when you become a Christian, you shouldn't listen to music like this.” She said, “Really? Well….what exactly does it mean to be a Christian?” As I heard her heart, I thought to myself, “I wonder how many more people are asking this question?” So, this is why I decided to do this podcast. This episode is for believers and new believers. This will teach you how to witness and have the tools to equip you to lead people to the Lord This is what it means to be a Christian: 1. Have Faith……to believe…to be convinced, to be persuaded! You BELIEVE in Jesus and The radical, miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit, that He is the Son of God, the son of man. You believe that He existed and that He lived and died for you. He paid for you with His own blood. You believe that He was raised from the dead in 3 days by the resurrection power of God. You believe that He ascended to heaven and that He sent the Holy Spirit to abide with you forever. You believe that the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives inside of YOU. You believe that all things are possible with Jesus! You believe that your name is written in the Lamb's book of life and you are going to heaven. 2. Embrace His teaching: John 8:31-32 TPT Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.” Be merciful Luke 6:31 Walk in forgiveness Luke 6:37 Seek Goodness Luke 6:45 Respect others Luke 14:11 BE kind Luke 14 3. My heart is devoted to Him Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, Love your neighbor and Love yourself Part of your love and devotion is prayer and worship. 4. Do the things that Jesus did Jesus was always listening the voice of His father and obeying him. Jesus said, If you love me, you'll obey me. So…..be discipled…learn how to hear his voice, learn how to obey, learn how to grow in God because the sky is the limit. Now HOW DO I become a Christian? Steps to Becoming a Follower of Jesus Christ Believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. Acts 16:31 ESV And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” John 3:16 ESV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Romans 10:9 ESV Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Repent Be baptized in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38 ESV And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 22:16 ESV And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.' Be transformed by the power of God & RENOUNCE. Romans 12:2 New American Bible (Revised Edition) Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. Renounce your sin: Galatians 5:1 New King James Version Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Read Colossians 3:1-10 New King James Version Go out and make disciples, bring others to Jesus, tell others your story, your testimony. Matthew 28:19-20 New International Version 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Day 57 Today's Reading: Luke 13 There are more than 7 billion people on earth. Nearly sixty million of them will die this year. That is approximately 153,000 people dying every day, 6,400 people dying every hour, 107 people dying every minute, two people dying every second. Not a great thought to start your day. Death is unavoidable and undeniable, and you will one day become one of these statistics. Statistics tell us that one out of one will die. I know that is hard to believe, but it is true. We try to sanitize the topic of death. Years ago people would die in their homes; today they die in hospitals or nursing homes. We try to keep death far from us. We think out of sight is out of mind. We don't even let our pets die; we put them to sleep. We use nice phraseology to deal with death. We say, “He is no longer with us,” “She is resting,” or “He has passed away.” None of this changes the definiteness of death. They now call funeral homes eternal management care centers. Funeral home directors don't want to be called undertakers or morticians, they call themselves death managers. People don't care about what you call death as long as they can avoid it. The great American poet W. H. Auden said, “Death is the sound of distant thunder at a picnic.” No matter what your picnic is, you still hear the thunder. People will try to avoid death and listening to that distant thunder through any means they can. There is this crazy thing called "cryonics" in which scientists will put your legally-dead body after death in liquid nitrogen and hope one day through technology they will discover a way to wake the person up. The fee can be as high as $200,000 or more for whole body cryopreservation and $80,000 for a “neuro,” or head-only option. There is something about our mortality and death we don't want to talk about. You can take vitamins and drink green tea but we all will face death. You may live longer doing this stuff, but no one will know at your funeral whether you ate tofu or Twinkies. Speaking about death is hard. But processing tragic death is even harder. Jesus deals with this topic and how we are to process it in today's reading. The opening scene of Luke 13 is intense. People come to Jesus with a tragic death story and then Jesus intensifies it: Some of those present informed Jesus that Pilate had slaughtered some Galilean Jews while they were offering sacrifices at the temple, mixing their blood with the sacrifices they were offering. Jesus turned and asked the crowd, “Do you believe that the slaughtered Galileans were the worst sinners of all the Galileans? No, they weren't! So listen to me. Unless you all repent, you will perish as they did.” (Luke 13:1-3, TPT) Jesus doesn't stop there, but then tells more tragedy to make His point: Or what about the eighteen who perished when the tower of Siloam fell upon them? Do you really think that they were more guilty than all of the others in Jerusalem? No, they weren't. But unless you repent, you will all eternally perish, just as they did. (Luke 13:4-5, TPT) “Why did these people die?” the people ask Jesus, and Jesus responds by telling them that they are asking the wrong question. Basically, He tells them, “There is a better question you should be asking, and here it is: why haven't you died yet?” Jesus essentially says, “Do you think they died because they were great sinners and deserved it? Of course not but keep this in mind all of you are going to perish one day, a great thing to do while you're breathing is to repent.” Instead of processing why they died, we need to process if we are prepared to die. Always remember, the Bible is not like a newspaper; it doesn't have new stuff in it every day. It is always the same, because it's the truth. An

Things are going to HAPPEN SO FAST our heads will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. We won't be able to keep up. EVERYTHING will be HAPPENING at ONCE —and everywhere we look, BLESSINGS ! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. GOD'LL make everything right again for His children in Beauty For Ashes Ministry: “We'll rebuild our ruined cities. We'll plant vineyards and drink good wine. We'll work our gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And GOD'LL PLANT US , plant us on our OWN LAND . We'll NEVER AGAIN BE UPROOTED from the LAND GOD HAS GIVEN US. GOD , our GOD , SAYS SO . Our Lord saw the future The future is good. The future is great! God can never has anything that is less than wonderful for His children We have a marvellous guide in the realm of His spirit Holy Spirit hold us We just don't need to be afraid There is no such thing as fear As we serve the Lord don't worry about we forget this or that. Relax everyone as you serve Him There is liberty. There is no fear. Perfect love cast out fear He sees us in the righteousness of Christ Is like a beautiful robe with white garment. Our faces are all shinning in His glory We are in Christ That is the most wonderful thing to Him That is the beauty of Christ The anointing of Jesus onto the ministry The oil of joy for mourning This is what Jesus came to do The anointing oil Jesus is in everyone of us Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Jesus come to set us free and we can truly rejoice in the Lord The most powerful truth in the gospel is in the power of God unto salvation In the good news there is something so powerful Is we becoming the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus the Son of God without sin came and died for us. Therefore He is able to give us this righteousness Today He gives us the same standing as Jesus He turned our ashes into beauty. We feel we are not good enough. The garment of praise The trees of righteousness The planting of the Lord Firmly planted rooted in His love In His love, nothing can touch us. Nothing and not even ourselves can pluck us out of the love of Jesus We grow to know Him more and more and there is less of us and more of Him When we see Jesus in His glory and beauty, we know there is nothing of us. Jesus, it takes eternity to know Him. So many aspects of Jesus. So beautiful that we will worship Him and adore Him The anointing of Joy. Oil is not like water. Oil is valuable Oil - Shemen Fat, fatness, medicament or unguent for anointing Joy -> Cheerfulness, gladness, mirth, rejoicing Is not the joy that depends on things to happen This joy is from our spirit man. It is inexpressible We cannot fake it. The first gift to humanity, God gave Jesus Hebrew 12, Jesus for the joy that was set before Him, He went to the cross. The joy that was set before Him to see you and me been born again. To be able to enjoy the new heaven, the new earth. In His heart there was a joy He was experiencing. The joy of seeing us becoming new creation. We are all brothers and sisters in the Lord When God created Adam and Eve, He knew he will sin and fall. Yet God already prepared for our redemption The new creation is more beautiful and wonderful than the first Adam God is redeeming time for us There is still so much more to give and love Come to Me and i will give you rest Mourning -> for the dead Lamentation - sorrow for someone's death What is death Therefore if anyone is in Christ He is a new creation. Everything of the past has died. The past is gone for the new creation All the past, there is no need to mourn for the past. You cannot change it. All these has passed away. In the new creation, everything is new! Rejoice always. Always is always God will turn everything into good in our lives Death is change of address. In Christ we will be reunited again It is not a full separation Anything that is dead, turn into green. New life, new beginnings Main thing is the new creation. The old things have passed away. God does not want us to regret anything in Christ. The pass is gone. Wash all the ashes that cling to you. Jesus has taken away all. The power of His blood has removed all and He anoints us. Isaiah 16:3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. God chose young shepherd boy David who has the shepherd heart Whatever your past, don't worry. God did not forget about you. Our heavenly Father will not forget us Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward... The people see Jesus. Christ in us, the hope of glory This is he whom God has chosen. As you do the simple faithfulness for God, it could be the simplest or the smallest thing, God has called you It all starts with the anointing of oil The prophet poured over Samuel's head to start the ministry We are anointed royalty. We are sons and daughters Whatever that is broken and messed up Beauty of the crown, Jesus put this crown on us. The kingship anointing. He has anointed us From there we can minister to the world We will be able to share to this lost world who lost sight of the kingdom of God The jews wanted a physical kingdom Jesus came as a baby first. He came from another kingdom. He came to put back the spiritual kingdom first To see there is a spiritual realm The word of God began to unfold and reveal He lives in the kingdom of God The Holy Spirit comes upon us will never leave us Jesus sent the Holy Spirit The dispersion of the Holy Spirit When we are all caught up, the Holy Spirit will be up with us Holy Spirit is not limited by time or space As you hear the Word of God, the person wants to receive Jesus We will no longer be in the bondage of sin Holy Spirit is the same like Jesus Holy Spirit is inside us and will never leave us. It is sealed. Holy Spirit is a Person In us and always talking to us. He is with us in the living Word Men can leave us but Jesus never Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Anointing the head with oil Anointest - become prosperous, anoint, good food To find fat To take away ashes Anoint also remove ashes Deshen -> fertility 3 meanings of Deshen are Oil (food) Ashes Fertiliser Fertilizer is a material used as food to help with the essential growth of plants, ie to give nourishment and life to the plant. So instead of putting ashes of mourning, a symbol of death, David acknowledges that the Lord has “fertilized” his head; God has given him the nourishment for growth in his life's calling, for that which he has anointed! He is nourishing king David for his life calling God is going to provide for us. We will never lack He has already provided. We will never lack Abundance. We will have abundance. Wait for God to do. Don't stress A king is never poor King is rulership He will provide everything We are all called. A lot of people feel not worthy to serve the Lord. All these are lies. The moment you received the Lord, there is set apart Some called into the limelight. Some called to serve behind the scene. Anointing is to fertilise our head for our future Everyone has a calling. Is the timing. The Lord has already anointed you. Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. This anointing destroy the yoke Whatever that is a burden to you in your life, this yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Those things that bind us, the moment we receive the anointing, we are totally destroyed Luke 7:36-37 TPT Afterward Simeon, a Jewish religious leader, asked Jesus to his home for dinner. Jesus accepted the invitation. When he went to Simeon's home, he took his place at the table. In the neighborhood there was an immoral woman of the streets, known to all to be a prostitute. When she heard that Jesus was at Simeon's house, she took an exquisite flask made from alabaster, filled it with the most expensive perfume, went right into the home of the Jewish religious leader, and in front of all the guests, she knelt at the feet of Jesus. Luke 7:38 TPT Broken and weeping, she covered his feet with the tears that fell from her face. She kept crying and drying his feet with her long hair. Over and over she kissed Jesus' feet. Then, as an act of worship, she opened her flask and anointed his feet with her costly perfume. Luke 7:40 TPT Jesus said, “Simeon, I have a word for you.” “Go ahead, Teacher. I want to hear it,” he answered In the last days many can be deceived. Luke 7:43-44 TPT 43 Simeon answered, “I suppose it would be the one with the greater debt forgiven.” “You're right,” Jesus agreed. 44 Then he spoke to Simeon about the woman still weeping at his feet. “Do you see this woman kneeling here? She is doing for me what you didn't bother to do. When I entered your home as your guest, you didn't think about offering me water to wash the dust off my feet. Yet she came into your home and washed my feet with her many tears and then dried my feet with her hair. Luke 7:47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” Luke 4:47 TPT She has been forgiven of all her many sins. This is why she has shown me such extravagant love. But those who assume they have very little to be forgiven will love me very little.” According to what we think He has forgiven us, is according to how much we love Him Luke 7:48-50 TPT Then Jesus said to the woman at his feet, “All your sins are forgiven.” 49 All the dinner guests said among themselves, “Who is the one who can even forgive sins?” 50 Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith in me has given you life. Now you may leave and walk in the ways of peace.” Luke 7:50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.” Sin is missing the mark God is so just that He don't even allow that one black dot That few dots cannot bring us to heaven. That is why Jesus, 100% pure, came down to die for us The meaning of sin is not about big or small sin The good we don't deserve, He gives us When we go into more understanding, the vastness and the depth. No one can understand the depth of His love Who are we to judge another one when God don't judge us. Peace Rest, set at one again We are now made whole Join back and made whole Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. CHRIST = Anointed One Christ the Messiah, the Son of God Today this anointing is Christ. It is not just the physical oil The oil symbolise the power He is now the anointing In Christ we can do all things Means in the anointing i can do all things In Christ i have no fear God came down and touch us When someone has Jesus, have Christ the anointed one in our heart In the name of Jesus i am healed! Christ has healed us Holy Spirit hears the name of Jesus and healing manifest in our bodies That anointing of Christ flows inside us Holy Spirit brings anointing inside. Continue to be filled with the holy spirit 1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Son of God MANIFESTED DESTROY the WORKS of the devil Jesus in us through the Holy Spirit destroys the works of the devil 1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: We don't love God by law. REJOICE with JOY UNSPEAKABLE and full of GLORY Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Realm of God - HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE and JOY in the HOLY SPIRIT Seek first the kingdom of God You will do it when you understand how much God loves us Permanent healing. Not just for a while Oil of joy Taking away the mourning Without the shame of your past, this is the righteousness, the kingdom of God Manifestation from spiritual realm to physical realm. Experience the kingdom of God as your reality Pastor Stephanie went to a meeting where the Minister preached and everywhere people were laughing. He has the laughing anointing. On the last night (out of 3 nights), she prayed for God to touch her. This minister pray for all Malaysian pastors to go forward to receive. The minister tapped on all their heads and she was one of them and fell to the floor. She heard someone laughed than she realised is herself! She kept on laughing and laughing for 20 mins. She felt something has happened inside her. She felt the pipe inside her was all stuck. Now her spirit is more open to the anointing. Out of your belly will flow the rivers of living water! She used to be very timid but now she can laugh and speak boldly. The oil of joy came into her life, from that day she can laughed from inside. She was set free! Anointing is a touch. Oil is a layer of protection It is manifested. Not just in the head. You will feel the power that release the freedom Vision of the anointing oil poured out Christ inside us and the tangible anointing of the Holy Spirit Allow the anointing of the holy spirit to flow out to destroy the yoke and bring the healing You have peace and joy inside. Is not from your head. Is from your heart.
ỌMỌLÚÀBÍ PODCAST | EPISODE 012 PROVERB CONSIDERED: "Ẹni tí kò ní igi obì kì í léso." INTERPRETATION: "Whoever does not have a kola-nut tree cannot have its fruits." In other words, to be in possession of kola-nuts must be preceded by being in possession of a kola-nut tree. Or, to say it yet another way, having a kola-nut tree is the prerequisite to having kola-nuts (the fruits from the tree). MEANING: Unless one owns the means of production, one cannot claim the product. To make it clearer with a random example, you cannot lay claims to "Goodness Bread" if you are not the owner of "Goodness Bakery". Yes, you may buy "Goodness Bread" from the market, but your ownership of the bread is limited to the few loaves you bought, and even while you have it, it remains "Goodness Bread" not "Joseph Bread" [if your name is 'Joseph', for example]. BIBLICAL APPLICATION We unpacked this using 2 imageries from the Bible: 1. The Fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23) The 9 virtues that Paul lists in Galatians 5:22-23 as "the Fruit of the Spirit" can seem like the sort of virtues you can find even in unbelievers. It is not only Christians who are loving, peaceful, kind, patient or self-controlled. However, the true essence of these fruits can ONLY be found in the life of someone who possesses the Spirit of God Whom produces these fruity manifestations. It is just like what the bible says about self-righteousness — no matter the level of righteousness anyone may claim to have apart from God, such righteousness will always be "filthy rags" before the Father. 2. The Vine, the Branches and their Fruits (John 15:1-5) When Jesus calls Himself the Vine in John 15 and calls those who believe in Him "the branches which bear fruits..." He goes on to say specifically in verse 5 that "... apart from me you can't do a thing." So, for us to be able to do anything God-pleasing; it must be preceded by our possession of Him as He possesses us. ✥ Galatians 5:22-23 TLB — "But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; and here there is no conflict with Jewish laws." ✥ John 15:1-5 TLB — “I am the true Vine, and my Father is the Gardener. He lops off every branch that doesn't produce. And he prunes those branches that bear fruit for even larger crops. He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you. Take care to live in me, and let me live in you. For a branch can't produce fruit when severed from the vine. Nor can you be fruitful apart from me. “Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit. For apart from me you can't do a thing." ✥ John 4:10,14 TPT — "Jesus replied, “If you only knew who I am and the gift that God wants to give you, you'd ask me for a drink, and I would give you living water.” . . . For when you drink the water I give you, it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, flooding you with endless life!”" Summarily, don't seek the fruit; seek to possess the tree!
Episode 078-Stand Firm in the Faith What I want you to understand is food, or other addictions like alcohol, drugs, pornography, gossip, infidelity, is not your stronghold. The stronghold is your mindset that is driving you to stress and worry over every little thing. It’s the noise you are allowing to take up residence in your head. Because of all the voices that are taunting you and pointing fingers at you, you are eating to try to make them stop. When we go to food or other addictions, we mask the voices for a while and then they start again in earnest and tell you why you should be more ashamed because you didn’t follow your diet. I wish I could tell you just to scream at the voices and tell them to stop, but I know from personal experience that doesn’t work because my voice has no power over the enemy unless I am surrendered to God. Then I can use the name of Jesus with the authority He has given me. Attached to The World Basically, we are too attached to this world and its cares, woes, victories and struggles. We are living in the drama because on some level we like it. On another level we wish we weren’t in the middle of it. God, however, warns us about being too attached to this world. In John 12:25 TPT Jesus says, “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to Me, will find true life and enjoy it forever!” Attachment to this world really means that we are unwilling to submit completely to God. In our pride and stubbornness, we are holding on to something we think we need to make it through. But we have to see that whatever we are holding on to is keeping us from centering our lives totally in God. He’s calling all of us to a deeper journey with Him, but first we have to detach from everything we have become attached to in this world. What that means is if God requires it from us, we give it willingly. In this podcast episode, we talk about: 1. Casting your worries on Jesus 2. Humbling yourselves 3. Taking negative thoughts captive 4. Submitting thoughts to God 5. Learning how to be well-balanced and alert 6. Resisting the devil 7. What God promises us 8. Jesus is the way back to the Father. John 14:6-7 TPT “Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too. And from now on you will realize that you have seen him and experienced him.””
Party at the lost & foundLuke 15:1-3 NIV Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Then Jesus told them this parable:Luke 15:4 NIV “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? Luke 15:5 NIV And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shouldersLuke 15:6 TPT Returning home, he called all his friends and neighbors together and said, ‘Let's have a party! Come and celebrate with me the return of my lost lamb. It wandered away, but I found it and brought it home.' ”Luke 15:7 TPT Jesus continued, “In the same way, there will be a glorious celebration in heaven over the rescue of one lost sinner who repents, comes back home, and returns to the fold—more so than for all the righteous people who never strayed away.”Luke 15:8 NIV “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn't she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?Luke 15:9&10 TPT When she finally found it, she gathered all her friends and neighbors for a celebration, telling them, ‘Come and celebrate with me! I had lost my precious silver coin, but now I've found it.' That's the way God responds every time one lost sinner repents and turns to him. He says to all his angels, ‘Let's have a joyous celebration, for the one who was lost, I have found!' ”Luke 15:11-14 TPT Then Jesus said, “Once there was a father with two sons. And The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.Luke 15:15&16 TPT So he begged a farmer in that country to hire him. The farmer hired him and sent him out to feed the pigs. He never begged before… The son was so famished, he was willing even to eat the slop given to the pigs, because no one would feed him a thing.Luke 15:17 NIV “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!Luke 15:18&19 NIV I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.' Luke 15:20-21 NIV So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'Luke 15:22-23 NIV “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. Luke 15:24 NIV For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate.
(Matthew 9:1-4; Philippians 2:8-11) A paralysed man, lying on a stretcher, was brought to Jesus when he got to his hometown. Jesus saw their faith. I love the way The Passion Translation states it- “... When Jesus perceived the strong faith within their hearts, he said to the paralyzed man, “My son, be encouraged, for your sins have been forgiven.”” Matthew 9:2 TPT Jesus saves Jesus heals Jesus delivers Jesus has been given all power in heaven, in earth and under earth; and at the mention of His name, every knee and stronghold bows in submission. “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:8-11 KJV I pray that the Holy Spirit of God opens our spiritual eyes more and more to the power and blessings there are in Jesus' name so that we can have full confidence and boldly call upon the name of Jesus with active faith. In Jesus' name. Amen --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/abimbola-arawande/message
(John 3:3; John 3:16) A prominent Jewish religious leader named Nicodemus, “who was part of the sect called the Pharisees and a member of the Jewish ruling council” discreetly went to Jesus one night and said “Master, we know that you are a teacher from God, for no one performs the miracle signs that you do, unless God's power is with him.” Jesus answered, “Nicodemus, listen to this eternal truth: Before a person can perceive God's kingdom realm, they must first experience a rebirth.”” John 3:1-3 TPT Jesus told Nicodemus that the step into seeing and perceiving things from God's perspective is to be born again. To be born again means to be spiritually transformed or regenerated. John 1:12 states that “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” God plans for you to experience and bask in the riches of His love and life. The only way to truly live and love is to be spiritually transformed. Why not receive Jesus today, if you have not, so that you can perceive life the way God does and enjoy life to the fullest. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/abimbola-arawande/message
PossibleIs it impossible for God himself to experience impossibilities? A seemingly ridiculous idea, for with our God, everything is possible. Jesus himself even teaches us that we too possess the ability to overcome all things through faith. It is because of Him, and through Him, all things are possible to those who believe. He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do! - Matthew 17:20 (TPT)Jesus responded, “What appears humanly impossible is more than possible with God. For God can do what man cannot.” - Luke 18:27 (TPT)I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty. - Philippians 4:13 (TPT)Set your mind on Christ, as He takes your hand and leads you into new levels of faith. May you begin to believe His promises that all things are possible, even with faith as small as a mustard seed.Thank You!Becoming a PatronIf you are one of the many who have been blessed by Cultivate Connection, please consider becoming a monthly patron. Dare to BelieveBelieve is a verb. It’s not a noun, nor is it an adjective. It’s a word of action. Do you dare to act (believe) on the truth of God’s goodness and faithfulness? This week we focus on three instances of Jesus teaching us what is ours when we choose to believe. As Jesus left the house, two blind men began following him, shouting out over and over, “Son of David, show us mercy and heal us!” And they followed him right into the house where Jesus was staying. So Jesus asked them, “Do you believe that I have the power to restore sight to your eyes?” They replied, “Yes Lord, we believe!” Then Jesus put his hands over their eyes and said, “You will have what your faith expects!” - Matthew 9:27-29 (TPT)When the woman who experienced this miracle realized what had happened to her, she came before him, trembling with fear, and threw herself down at his feet, saying, “I was the one who touched you.” And she told him her story of what had just happened. Then Jesus said to her, “Daughter, because you dared to believe, your faith has healed you. Go with peace in your heart, and be free from your suffering!” - Mark 5:33-34 (TPT)Jesus said to him, “What do you mean ‘if’? If you are able to believe, all things are possible to the believer.” - Mark 9:23 (TPT)Just as the father of the possessed boy begged Jesus to “help my little faith!”, where do you need to ask Jesus to increase your capacity to believe? To take Jesus for His word when He says “If you are able to believe, all things are possible to the believer.”Becoming a PatronIf you are one of the many who have been blessed by Cultivate Connection, please consider becoming a monthly patron. Pastor Rod Windham Matthew 2.1-12 TPT - Jesus was born in Bethlehem near Jerusalem during the reign of King Herod. After Jesus' birth a group of spiritual priests (Magi, wise men, astronomers, astrologers) from the East came to Jerusalem 2 and inquired of the people, “Where is the child who is born king of the Jewish people? We observed his star rising in the sky and we've come to bow before him in worship.” 3 King Herod was shaken to the core when he heard this, and not only him, but all of Jerusalem was disturbed when they heard this news. 4 So he called a meeting of the Jewish ruling priests and religious scholars, demanding that they tell him where the promised Messiah was prophesied to be born. 5 “He will be born in Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,” they told him. “Because the prophecy states: 6 And you, little Bethlehem, are not insignificant among the clans of Judah, for out of you will emerge the Shepherd-King of my people Israel!” 7 Then Herod secretly summoned the spiritual priests from the East to ascertain the exact time the star first appeared. 8 And he told them, “Now go to Bethlehem and carefully look there for the child, and when you've found him, report to me so that I can go and bow down and worship him too.” 9 And so they left, and on their way to Bethlehem, suddenly the same star they had seen in the East reappeared! Amazed, they watched as it went ahead of them and stopped directly over the place where the child was. 10 And when they saw the star, they were so ecstatic that they shouted and celebrated with unrestrained joy. 11 When they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, they were overcome. Falling to the ground at his feet they worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure boxes full of gifts and presented him with gold, frank-incense, and myrrh. 12 Afterward they returned to their own country by another route because God had warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod. v 2 - The Magi said “We have seen His star" 1. Why The Star? Stars were a big part of their life! The wise men and their entourage of 100 people were willing to put their entire lives on hold and travel somewhere between 700 & 1000 miles one-way on horseback, to find who they believed to be the King of all kings and that this encounter would be totally worth bringing the treasure of all treasures… Huge chests full of gold, frankincense, and myrrh and this encounter was believed to literally change their lives forever. Numbers 24.17 MSG - Decree of Balaam son of Beor, decree of the man with 20/20 vision, Decree of the man who hears godly speech, who knows what's going on with the High God … I see him, but not right now, I perceive him, but not right here; A star rises from Jacob a scepter from Israel, Crushing the heads of Moab…. The Heavens are an evangelist Psalms 91.1 TPT - God's splendor is a tale that is told; his testament is written in the stars. Space itself speaks his story every day through the marvels of the heavens. His truth is on tour in the starry vault of the sky, showing his skill in creation's craftsmanship. His Star Reveals Your Heart 2. Who Was “His Star" That Led You To Jesus? 3. Whose Star Will You Be? 1 Corinthians 12.7 MSG - Each person is given something to do that shows who God is
Pastor Rod Windham 1. We were all born with a God-given desire to “Go and Tell” Matthew 4.19 msg… “Come with me. I'll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I'll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.” They didn't ask questions, but simply dropped their nets and followed. All of us may not be called to stand on a platform or in front of people but all of us are called to preach in some way, to speak hope to the hopeless …to affect people for eternity …. In the same way that we have been changed. Why do Christian people have to be reminded … stirred.. trained… poked … prodded…. and even threatened … to go and tell others about the good news? 2. Is the good news really good enough? Is the goodness God really good enough? God was good most of the time God allowed bad stuff to happen to you (& your loved ones) God's love was conditional . Eternity in heaven wasn't a sure thing. I wasn't sure if God could fully be trusted Being fully loved, fully at peace with God and fully safe forever was always just out of reach. Luke 4.18-19 TPT - “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!' I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God's great acceptance has begun.” Amplified v19 - To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound. 2 Corinthians 5.17-21 TPT - Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 3. The Gospel Must Be Embraced Romans 1.16 TPT - I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of God's liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! 17 This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God's righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith, to the power of living by faith. Embracing the Gospel means my future is sealed forever with God Embracing the Gospel sets a drug addicts free Embracing the Gospel will set a teenager free from the prison of Instagram or living your life by other peoples expectations or playing the comparison game. Embracing the Gospel sets free the person bound by pornography, lust, adultery and fornication. How? Because when you believe Jesus paid the price for and conquered whatever is trying to destroy you… freedom starts! Embracing the Gospel will set you free from anxiety, fear, depression and heal you from any and every disease known or unknown to man. Embracing the Gospel makes you wanna go and tell somebody. When Martin Luther discovered “faith righteousness” according Galatians 3.11… The just shall live by faith… it was as if he went down into the cellar of the Holy Spirit and drank grace 200 proof. Martin Luther taught three main things 1. People could only be saved by faith in God's free gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ and not good works. 2. Christian teachings should be based on the Bible and not church traditions. 3. All people with faith in Jesus were equal so people do not need priests to interpret the Bible for them or forgive their sins. Jesus said… It is His Word that is Spirit and it is life and His Word will rescue people, His Word will heal people, His Word will set people free, His Word sanctifies people, and His Word directs your life! Mark 4.14 TPT - Let me explain: The farmer sows the Word as seed, 15 and what falls on the beaten path represents those who hear the Word, but immediately satan appears and snatches it from their hearts. 16 The seed sown on gravel represents those who hear the Word and receive it joyfully, 17 but because their hearts fail to sink a deep root into the Word, they don't endure for long. For when trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, they immediately wilt and fall away. 18 And the seed sown among thorns represents those who hear the Word, 19 but they allow the cares of this life and the seduction of wealth and the desires for other things to crowd out and choke the Word so that it produces nothing. 20 “But the seed sown on good soil represents those who open their hearts to receive the Word and their lives bear good fruit—some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even one hundred times more than was sown!” 4. Take The Next Step Matthew 4.17 TPT - Jesus said. “Keep turning away from your sins and come back to God, for heaven's kingdom realm (righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit) is now accessible.” Repent and say “God here I am!” Pray for BOLDNESS to share what God has done for you. Ask God to lead you Look for opportunities.

Default Setting Sunday, July 19, 2020 John 14:6-17 TPT 6 Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth,[a] and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.7 And from now on you will realize that you have seen him and experienced him.”8 Philip spoke up, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be all that we need!”9 Jesus replied, “Philip, I’ve been with you all this time and you still don’t know who I am? How could you ask me to show you the Father, for anyone who has looked at me has seen the Father. 10 Don’t you believe that the Father is living in me and that I am living in the Father? Even my words are not my own but come from my Father, for he lives in me and performs his miracles of power through me. 11 Believe that I live as one with my Father and that my Father lives as one with me—or at least, believe because of the mighty miracles I have done.12 “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! 13 For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. 14 Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!” 15 “Loving me empowers you to obey my commands. 16–17 And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you will know him intimately, because he will make his home in you and will live inside you. “Seek God’s face, not His hand”. “Signs and wonders should follow you. You shouldn’t follow them.” “Seek The Fruit of The Spirit more than The Gifts of The Spirit”. These are all things I have heard either directly to me or pertaining to me and those like me. People whose default setting is signs wonders and miracles! Who can not be satisfied with normal Christianity when what they see in the words and life of Jesus are not what they are seeing in their own lives! “I believe revival will be sparked and marked by healing, but Not just God supernaturally healing everyone. Believers growing in and learning to receive their healing by the finished work of Jesus and in turn flowing in the power that is available to them to from the finished work to heal others. This will spark revival and lead to true awakening. When I say healing in this sense I’m talking about healing, deliverance, miracles, etc... The signs that Jesus said would follow believers who... well believed. “ The power of God and the Love of God are not separate, but synonymous. In fact, they are expression of the same thing... the character and nature of God. The power of God was and is used to demonstrate the Love of God. The Gifts of The Spirit and The Fruit of The Spirit are not mutually exclusive... They are manifestations of the same Spirit! The most important part of any miracle, more important than the miracle itself, is the revelation of God’s love and glory that comes through the miracle. Great intimacy should lead to great power! If power is not resulting from intimacy its is because there is a lack of expectation! Jesus Healed Them All! Matthew 14:35-36 TPT 35 the people living there quickly recognized who he was. They were quick to spread the news throughout the surrounding region that Jesus had come to them. 36 So they brought him all their sick, begging him to let them touch the fringe of his robe. And everyone who touched it was instantly healed! Mark 6:56 TPT 56 Wherever he went, in the countryside, villages, or towns, they placed the sick on mats in the streets or in public places and begged him, saying, “Just let us touch the tassel of your prayer shawl!” And all who touched him were instantly healed! Luke 6:19 TPT 19 The entire crowd eagerly tried to come near Jesus so they could touch him and be healed, because a tangible supernatural power emanated from him, healing all who came close to him. Jesus was motivated by love! Matthew 9:35-36 TPT 35 Jesus walked throughout the region with the joyful message of God’s kingdom realm. He taught in their meeting houses, and wherever he went he demonstrated God’s power by healing every kind of disease and illness. 36 When he saw the vast crowds of people, Jesus’ heart was deeply moved with compassion, because they seemed weary and helpless, like wandering sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 14:14 TPT 14 So when Jesus landed he had a huge crowd waiting for him. Seeing so many people, his heart was deeply moved with compassion toward them, so he healed all the sick who were in the crowd. The great motivation behind the miracles of Jesus was his love and compassion. God’s love was what motivated Jesus to walk in God’s power. He healed the sick because he had compassion on them. He multiplied the fish and loaves because he had compassion on people. That was the main point of his miracles! Perspective: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding/seeing something. Our point of view. Comes from a Latin root meaning “look through” or “perceive”. An integrated set of attitudes of beliefs. Belief system. You will never experience life on a higher level than your belief system. Perspective determines reality. If we have a “natural” perspective we will live in a “natural” reality which will produce a natural result. If we desire a supernatural result we need a supernatural perspective. In other words, we must view things from God’s perspective to experience His reality! God has given us an appetite for the supernatural. We must feed that appetite. We must allow that hunger to take us to the word so that the word can change our perspective which will intern change our reality. Reality is determined by the lens you look through. Jesus is the will of god expressed on the earth! Then and now! Faith begins where the will of God is known. There is NO FAITH without knowing His will. Matthew 6:9-10 Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.10 Your kingdom come.Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. TPT ‘Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn. 10 Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven. God’s will is not that big of a mystery. “On earth as it is in heaven”! Whatever is free to operate in heaven: joy, peace, wisdom, health, wholeness, and all the promises we find in the word; should be free to operate here on earth. Whatever is not free to operate in heaven: sickness, disease, spiritual bondage, sin; should not be free to operate here. God’s will is for The atmosphere of heaven to invade and change the atmosphere of every situation in my life and those I come into contact with. John 8:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. Jesus is the revelation of God’s will. He showed us what Heaven looks like on earth. John 14:9 He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Col 1:15 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Jesus’ purpose was to do/demonstrate/proclaim the will of God: Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. TPT “Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with great power. He did wonderful things for others and divinely healed all who were under the tyranny of the devil, for God had anointed him. 1 John 3:8 “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” TPT “…The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.” If Jesus destroyed sickness, oppression, lack, sin then we have to conclude that these things are not the will of God. Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” TPT 19 I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.” By healing the sick, freeing the oppressed, providing for those in need, etc… Jesus was PROVING the will of God. He was using the POWER of God by the Spirit of God to demonstrate and manifest the WILL of God! Miracles prove the will of God. Miracles bring the atmosphere of Heaven to earth.
Have you experienced a time when you thought to yourself, "I wish Jesus was here with me." I remember a friend, who was having radiation treatment for cancer, saying to me, "Before I go into the treatment room, I stand at the door and say, 'Okay Jesus, in we go together.'" She was declaring that Jesus was going with her into that room, acknowledging that she was not going alone. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that "I am not alone." Jesus walks with me That story reminds me of a song, "He walks with me" from Merle Haggard. The lyrics are simple but beautiful ... I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on my ear The son of God discloses And he walks with me and he talks with me And he tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of his voice is so sweet The birds hush their singing And the melody that he gave to me Within my heart is ringing And he walks with me and he talks with me And he tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known You know that feeling you have after spending time with someone who loves you. You feel heard, encouraged, safe and secure. Well that is how we can feel after spending time with Jesus. But first we have to recognise that He is with us and acknowledge Him. Recognising Jesus Let's take a look at a couple of stories where Jesus wasn't immediately recognised. At the empty tomb Firstly, at the empty tomb after Jesus' resurrection ... But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. As she wept, she knelt to look into the tomb and saw two angels sitting there, dressed in white, one at the head, the other at the foot of where Jesus' body had been laid. They said to her, "Woman, why do you weep?" "They took my Master," she said, "and I don't know where they put him." After she said this, she turned away and saw Jesus standing there. But she didn't recognise him. Jesus spoke to her, "Woman, why do you weep? Who are you looking for?" She, thinking that he was the gardener, said, "Mister, if you took him, tell me where you put him so I can care for him." Jesus said, "Mary." Turning to face him, she said in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" meaning "Teacher!" John 20:11-16 The Message But she didn't recognise Him In regards to Mary not recognising Jesus, let's look at the way other translations say verse 14, The Passion Translation - Then she turned around to leave, and there was Jesus standing in front of her, but she didn't realise that it was him! The New King James Version - Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Recognise, realise and know According to the NIV Study Bible, we don't know why Mary didn't recognise Jesus, "He may have looked different or he may intentionally have prevented recognition." NIV Study Bible, Luke 20:14 Commentary, page 1633. What about us? I wonder how many times things have happened in our lives and Jesus has been there and we haven't recognised, realised or known. Or why we sometimes don't recognise Jesus, or realise what He is doing in our lives? Perhaps this is the moment to ask Him. Jesus calls us by name An aside, or maybe one of the main points ... notice that it is when Jesus calls Mary by her name that she recognises him. In the TV series about Jesus, The Chosen (available at the App Store or Google Play), there is a beautiful scene in Episode 1, when Jesus calls Mary by her name and she is redeemed. The road to Emmaus Let's have a look at another interaction on that same day, when Jesus was not recognised. He is walking with two of the disciples on the road to Emmaus. And behold, that very day two of [the disciples] were going to a village called Emmaus, [which is] about seven miles from Jerusalem. And they were talking about all these things that had occurred. And while they were conversing and discussing this together, Jesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them. But their eyes were held, so that they did not recognise Him. Luke 24:13-16 AMPC In this story it is clear that the disciples did not recognise Jesus because of divine intervention. The Passion Translation says it this way ... They were unaware that it was Jesus walking alongside them, for God prevented them from recognising him. Luke 24:16 TPT Jesus is recognised when He broke the bread In fact, the disciples didn't recognise Jesus until that evening at supper... Joining them at the table for supper, he took bread and blessed it and broke it, then gave it to them. All at once their eyes were opened and they realised it was Jesus! Then suddenly, in a flash, Jesus vanished before from their eyes! Luke 24:30-31 TPT Oh my, there certainly was a lot of mysterious things going on at the time, and I don't pretend to understand any of them. But it is good to ask God what He wants to show us through these stories. Current events - what's going on? An interesting aside about the conversation on the road to Emmaus, the disciples were discussing the current events of the day ... And He said to them, "What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?" Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, "Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened in there in these days? And He said to them, "What things?" So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel....... ....Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ have suffered these things to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." Luke 24:17-27 NKJV Jesus explains the bigger picture In our world today, there are certainly many interesting current events to discuss. But notice what happens in this conversation on the road to Emmaus, who brings the wisdom and explains what is going on? Jesus. John Maxwell comments on this conversation, "As two grieving men conversed about Jesus' crucifixion, they struggled to understand what it all meant. Jesus saw their confusion and could tell they needed someone to guide them. So He joined them and began to explain His resurrection in light of Scripture (Luke 24:27,45). By the end of their time together, it all made sense." John Maxwell, The Maxwell Leadership Bible, Page 1299. Listen to how The Passion Translation explains the disciples' response when they realised they had been walking with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, Stunned, they looked at each other and said, "Why didn't we recognise it was him? Didn't our hearts burn with the flames of holy passion while we walked beside him? He unveiled for us such profound revelation from the Scriptures!" Luke 24:32 TPT What is God showing us? So what profound revelation does God want to give us today through these stories from Scriptures? Possibly some of these things, and probably a whole lot more! Jesus will reveal himself when He chooses. When Jesus asks us questions, we need to search our heart and give an honest answer. If we spend time with Jesus and learn to know His voice as Mary did, we will recognise Him when He speaks to us. Jesus knows when we are struggling and will walk alongside us and help us, if we let Him. Sometimes Jesus will do the unexpected, like vanishing at the supper. We won't always understand what He does and that's okay. We have to trust that His plan is good. Only Jesus has the complete picture, understanding how each part of the puzzle fits together, so we need to listen when He speaks. Jesus walks and talks with us today To finish today, let's just revisit the words of that song again, knowing that Jesus is with us and we are not alone. And he walks with me and he talks with me And he tells me I am his own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known To find out more please visit https://wendyrobinson.com.au
Make Room (For the Kingdom to be manifest) Sunday, June 21, 2020 Matthew 9:18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. I sense a shift in… In Matthew chapter 3 Jesus was baptized by John, The Holy Spirit came upon Him and The Father affirmed Him. “This is my son in whom I am well pleased”. Before He had done any miracles or ministry. The Father was pleased with Him because of their relationship not His works. John acknowledged Him, The Holy Spirit empowered Him, The Father affirmed Him! Immediately in chapter 4 He was then lead by The Holy Spirit into the wilderness, tempted and emerged victorious over the temptation of the enemy. Matthew 4:17 NKJV [17] From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Luke 4:1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Luke 4:14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. From there in Matthew 5-7 Jesus gives whats known as “The Sermon on the mount” where He basically lays out what the life and characteristics of a Kingdom believer should look like. Then in chapter 8 & 9, Jesus launches what I would describe as and all out assault on the kingdom of darkness! Lepers are cleansed, servants are healed by a spoken word, devils are cast out, paralytics walk, blind eyes open, the mute speaks! Miracle after miracle, healing after healing… Let me ask you a question… Is this statement true? Jesus is our example and the standard. If everything Jesus did was as The Son of God then His life is an amazing illustration of the love of God toward man demonstrated by the power of God. If everything Jesus did was as The Son of man then His life is an illustration and example of how every son that comes after Him is to live and function. Every believer was created to live a supernatural lifestyle empowered by the Holy Spirit to demonstrate The Kingdom. Jesus taught it, demonstrated it, and assigned it! He taught The Kingdom, demonstrated The Kingdom and assigned the expansion of The Kingdom! Matthew 10:1, 7-8 TPT Jesus gathered his twelve disciples and imparted to them authority to cast out demons and to heal every sickness and every disease. …7 And as you go, preach this message: ‘Heaven’s kingdom realm is accessible, close enough to touch.’ 8 You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick, and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others. Our assignment is not to merely declare The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, the assignment is to declare that The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and have the power of heaven back it up. To say something that is in agreement with heaven and have heaven back it up and manifest it on earth. To give the atmosphere of heaven an opportunity to invade the atmosphere around you. Matthew 16:18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” We’ve misquoted and misinterpreted this scripture… You can not bind something in time that is not bound in eternity nor loose something in time that is not loosed in eternity. The spirit realm or spirit reality is the dominate reality. I can forbid in on earth because its forbidden in Heaven. Heaven is the model for earth. The Fathers will is to empower believers who will see through the lens of The Kingdom and make themselves available for “His Kingdom to come, His will to be done on earth AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!” This is the partnership between Father and son, Heaven and earth. Jesus is the standard for how we are to function, Heaven is the standard for the atmosphere around us. Jesus lived in the atmosphere of the natural, but carried and subsequently released the atmosphere of Heaven. You are a citizen of Heaven called to release heaven into the earth. We as kingdom citizens must make room for heaven’s reality to invade our reality. We have to start living The Kingdom and not just talking about The Kingdom. We make room by… …Intentinionlaly making the renewing of or mind to a kingdom mindset a priority! Matthew 9:16-17 16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” We must get serous and aggressive about renewing the mind. Why? Romans 8:5-7 TPT 5 Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities. 6 For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace. 7 In fact, the mind-set focused on the flesh fights God’s plan and refuses to submit to his direction, because it cannot! NASB says it is HOSTILE toward …By seeking his presence relentlessly! 18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him …By bringing the impossible to Jesus with exception of results! 18 …“My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” When the impossible is met with faith miracles happen! God deals in impossibly. Share conversation with Dale and stories of churches being built or paid off from unexpected sources. Share our search for location… … By no allowing delay to deter our faith or shit our focus. 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.” Delay does not mean denial! … by hearing, believing and declaring! 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” … by not letting our emotions dictate and determine our environment. 23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” They were professional mourners. Paid to stir emotions. It is ok to grieve. We can not allow grief to open the door to a spirit of oppression. We can not stay in grief to the point that it starts to shape our theology. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning! This is the process of The Kingdom. … by removing every avenue the enemy uses to bring doubt and unbelief. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. Our response to anything that causes doubt or unbelief must be immediate and violent! We are in charge of what we allow in, but what we allow in will determine what we release.
Have you had the experience of crying out to God for many years, and then as the busy-ness of life takes over, the cry is still there, but not so loud? Then one day you have this moment, where the Holy Spirit nudges you and says, 'Look.' You look and see that God is answering that prayer. A smile comes over your face, and your heart feels full. The blindness of busy-ness is lifted. The blindness of busy-ness When this recently happened to me, I started thinking about how we often get so focused on other things, that we miss what God is doing. Proverbs 29:18 in The Message Bible says ... If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. Proverbs 29:18 The Message When I obeyed the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and looked and saw what God was doing, I did indeed feel and know that I was most blessed. The Amplified Bible says Proverbs 29:18 this way, Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God]. Proverbs 29:18 AMP Ummm ... No revelation of God and His word ... the people are unrestrained... The blindness in our thinking Let's look at this scripture for a moment in the context of our thought-life. That is, when our thoughts are not focused on God's truth they can wander wherever they desire. This happens when we are not actively taking our thoughts captive, as God says to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV This is another blindness, not towards what God is doing, but in relation to what we are thinking! Negative thoughts causing blindness I experienced this type of blindness recently when I let negative thoughts overwhelm me. They caused me to lose sight of God's word. I couldn't see the good. I couldn't see a positive path forward. The story Over the past month our daughter has had nine medical appointments in relation to her left leg, and there are two more this coming week. Attending all these appointments brought back the memories of the multiple hospital visits from her time of having chemotherapy treatment. Late last week, both my daughter and I were at the point of sighing, crying and thinking, 'No, not another appointment,' and 'Will it always be like this?' So strong is the emotional pull of old memories and feelings of despair - grief. For our daughter during recent years the negative experiences around these ongoing appointments have been offset by the joy and excitement of swimming training and competing at sporting events. But due to COVID-19 restrictions and other factors beyond our control, those activities are currently not happening. So, the question she now often asks is, 'What is there to look forward to?' What is there to look forward to? What is there to look forward to? Yes, blindness can stop us looking forward and it can stop us looking to Jesus. The blind beggar These thoughts about blindness led me to reading the story of Jesus healing the blind beggar Bartimaeus, recounted in Mark 10 and Luke 18. Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a great crowd, a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, a son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity and mercy on me [now]! And many severely censured and reproved him, telling him to keep still, but he kept on shouting out all the more, You Son of David, have pity and mercy on me [now]!" And Jesus stopped and said, Call him. And they called the blind man, telling him, Take courage! Get up! He is calling you. And throwing off his outer garment, he leaped up and and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, What do you want Me to do for you? And the blind man said to Him, Master, let me receive my sight. And Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has healed you. And at once he receive his sight and accompanied Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52 AMPC What did God speak to you about as we read that story? For me, there were four things which I share below. But first, lets give thanks for the revelation God brings to us through His word. Remember Proverbs 29:18 that we read earlier, Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God]. Proverbs 29:18 AMP Keep asking. Don't give up Firstly, Bartimaeus called out to Jesus not once, but twice. He didn't give up. Interestingly when this story is recounted in Luke, earlier in Chapter 18, Jesus is teaching the disciples about prayer, saying, Don't you know that God, the true judge, will grant justice to all of his chosen ones who cry out to him night and day? He will pour out his Spirit upon them. He will not delay to answer you and give you what you ask for. God will give swift justice to those who don't give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting, just like the widow was with the judge. Luke 18:7-8a TPT Jesus finishes this teaching about prayer with this question, a challenge to me and you ... Yet when the Son of Man comes back, will he find this kind of persistent faithfulness in his people? Luke 18:8b TPT Revelation (or reminder) Keep calling out to Jesus. Let's be people of persistent faith. Courage to respond Secondly, when Jesus responded to the blind beggar's call, it appears from the disciple's words that Bartimaeus was a little hesitant to go to Jesus. So they went to the blind man and said, "Have courage! Get up! Jesus is calling for you!" Mark 10:49 TPT As we know Bartimaeus did muster the courage, get up and go to Jesus. Imagine if he hadn't. He would have missed that opportunity to receive healing. The Message Bible says, They called him. "It's your lucky day! Get up! He's calling you to come!" Mark 10:49 The Message His lucky day indeed! Revelation (or reminder) Sometimes it takes courage to respond to what Jesus asks us to do, but that is part of the faith adventure. Note: there is a great song that reminds me to take courage: Take Courage by Kristine DiMarco. Throw off the old cloak Thirdly, look what Bartimeaus did when he responded to Jesus ... And throwing off his outer garment, he leaped up and came to Jesus. Luke 10:50 AMPC It seems like, that to get up, Bartimeaus had to throw off something - his outer garment. The Passion Translation says, So he threw off his beggars' cloak, jumped up, and made his way to Jesus. Luke 10:50 TPT He had to throw off the cloak that represented his old life, before he could receive the new life Jesus had for him. Revelation (or reminder) This was one of the main points of the story God wanted me to understand. I had to throw off the old memories of years of medical appointments. I had to take those thoughts captive and remind myself that we are in a new season now. This is not the past. God is doing a new thing. Some serious talk to self, declaring God's truth and promises was required. For both me, but for our daughter. Confidence in Jesus' power Finally, Bartimaeus had confidence that Jesus could make him well. Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith [and confident trust in My power] has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Jesus on the road. Mark 10:52 AMP So a question for us, "Who or what are we putting our confidence in today?" Revelation (or reminder) There is only one answer -> Jesus. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." John 14:6 NKJV The Blindness and Jesus So just remember to keep a look out for blindness in your life. The blindness of busy-ness can cause us to miss seeing what God is doing in our lives. The blindness of negative thinking can stop us looking to Jesus, the One we need to have our confidence in. The importance of confidence in Jesus Three final thoughts on the importance of confidence in Jesus, and accompanying scripture, because remember what the Amplified Bible says in Proverbs 29:18. Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God]. Proverbs 29:18 AMP 1. We need to have confidence that with Jesus we can do all things. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfil His purpose - I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:13 AMP 2. We need to have confidence that with Jesus we can more than overcome. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 NKJV 3. And when we can't find that confidence, we need to remember. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power my rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 NIV To find out more please visit https://wendyrobinson.com.au
The shaking of The Kingdom of God and the kingdom of man! Sunday, June 14, 2020 Matthew 6:33 NKJV 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 AMP 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. Looking back at my life and in particular my walk with The Lord, things began to shift for me when I discovered The gospel of The Kingdom. I realized that there was a difference between The Gospel that I had always heard preached and The Gospel that Jesus preached! The Gospel I has had been preached was the gospel of salvation, but Jesus preached The Gospel of The Kingdom. There is, quite literally, a world of difference! I had been preached an individualistic approach to the Gospel that reduced it conceptually to deal only in terms of individual salvation, specifically forgiveness of sin so that I could go to heaven and not hell. There are a few of problems with this approach: 1) It is self-focused. 2) It is incomplete. 3) It is not what Jesus preached! I made an interesting discovery this week. If you study American church history; the pre-Civil War church preached the Kingdom of God, but the post-war church moved away from it. The Kingdom message influenced the pre-war church to deal with societal issues such as slavery, child labor laws, the dangers of alcohol, and more. The post-war church started to focus merely on the Rapture, the last days, and escaping the earth instead of engaging it. This escapist mentality resulted in the church essentially abandoning culture, which opened the door to the secular humanists taking over every major institution of higher learning by the 1920s. One generation later, in the 1960’s, this humanistic perspective birthed the sexual revolution, which then lead to legalization of abortion, re-definition of marriage, to now redefinition and classification of genders! All can be contributed to the church abandoning the Gospel of The Kingdom that Jesus preached! We must get back to the what Jesus came to declare, The Kingdom of God is at hand! We are preaching an incomplete gospel and wondering why we are getting incomplete results! Right now there is a shaking taking place! We are seeing God make clear the dividing line between the church of man and the Church or God. More accurately, He’s separating the kingdom of man and The Kingdom of God! “I hear the sound of kingdoms shaking! A sound that strikes fear in the heart of those who seek to build the kingdom of man under the banner of Christianity! Fear of losing the grip of control over the people they have assembled. Fear that programs and presentation will no longer be enough to keep the people coming, giving, and celebrating their charismatic personalities! Fear of being exposed as a fraudulently kingdom void of power and presence. I hear the sound of kingdoms shaking! A sound that causes faith to arise in the heats of those who seek to advance The Kingdom of God Faith that the Kingdom of Heaven is not coming but has arrived and is within their grasp! Faith that His Kingdom has been released within them and is being released through them with signs, wonders and miracles! Faith that Kingdom manifestation includes His presence and power demonstrated right here and right now! Faith that when His Kingdom is declared from the mouths of believers, His Spirit will follow that declaration with demonstration that will draw the masses, set ablaze revival in the church with corresponding awakening in the nation! We are receiving and have received a Kingdom that can not be shaken and will stand when all other kingdoms fall!” The priority of Jesus was declaring and demonstrating the kingdom of god. Jesus told us to seek the Kingdom FIRST. He wanted that to be our priority because that was His priority. The priority of the NT is The Kingdom. The first preacher and the first message that was ever preached was Matthew 3:2 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Luke 4:43 43 but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent." Not just declare but demonstrate! Luke 11:20 “…if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.” TPT “…if I am casting out demons by God’s mighty power, God’s kingdom realm is now released upon you.” Acts 10:38 “38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” TPT “Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with great power. He did wonderful things for others and divinely healed all who were under the tyranny of the devil, for God had anointed him.” Jesus prayed yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory. Kingdom = Government of heaven. Power = ability of heaven. Glory = atmosphere of heaven. Jesus had a kingdom mindset while most believers have a church mindset! A Kingdom mindset focuses on the rule of God over the whole cosmos, every situation and circumstance, not just the happenings in the church. Yet most preaching today has as its goal to persuade people to make a weekly two-hour commitment to come to a building on Sundays and to give tithes to support that building! This is because a spirit of religion has captivated the church and blinded the minds of church leaders so that we now have a very limited church mindset instead of a Kingdom perspective. Contrasting a Kingdom mindset with a church mindset A Kingdom mindset applies a Spirit-empowered approach to the natural world. A church mindset involves a spirituality that separates from the natural world. A Kingdom mindset speaks of the rule of God over the entire created order. A church mindset speaks of the rule of God only through deacons and elders in their congregation. A Kingdom mindset trains people for all of life. A church mindset trains people only for church life. A Kingdom mindset releases all saints as ministers in the marketplace. A church mindset merely trains people to serve in a church building on Sundays. A Kingdom mindset creates wealth to transform a community and/or a nation. A church mindset motivates giving to build our own church programs. A Kingdom mindset is a holistic approach that applies the Gospel to politics, economics, and public policy. A church mindset insulates the Gospel from politics and public policy. A Kingdom mindset views the Bible as a blueprint to structure every aspect of society. A church mindset views the Bible merely as a book that enables us to escape the world, enter heaven, and be spiritual. With a Kingdom mindset, churches embrace and love their surrounding unchurched communities. With a church mindset, churches only embrace converted individuals within their faith communities. A Kingdom mindset nurtures leaders who are world changers who will prophetically declare articulate truth to society. A church mindset nurtures leaders who speak religious language relevant only to church people. With a Kingdom mindset, pastors release their people to their vocational callings in the marketplace. A church mindset can (unintentionally) control people by marginalizing their marketplace callings and emphasizing only their Sunday ministries.
It is always worth taking the time to read The Bible. God constantly wants to show us something. Earlier this week I was reading about Jesus feeding the five thousand in Matthew 14:13-21. As I was reading God reminded me that often Jesus does the unexpected. Let’s take a look at the story. Getting bad news Jesus has just heard that his cousin, John the Baptist, has been beheaded, thanks to King Herod. Jesus is obviously upset by this news and seeks out some time alone. When Jesus heard it, He withdrew from there privately in a boat to a solitary place. Matthew 14:13a AMPC. I don’t know about you, but for me, when I hear some devastating news, I want to be by myself to process what I've just heard. I remember those first couple of days after Victoria was diagnosed with a brain tumour. In the hospital I'd often escape to a small room attached to the Ronald McDonald Family Room, and spent a lot of time there crying and praying. It was called ‘The Quiet Room.’ I was very grateful for that space. But Jesus didn’t have the luxury of that quiet processing space. Everyone wanted to see Him and speak with Him. But when the crowds heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities. Matthew 14:13b AMP. No time to process the grief The story goes on ... So when Jesus landed he had a huge crowd waiting for him. Seeing so many people, his heart was deeply moved with compassion toward them, so he healed all the sick who were in the crowd. Matthew 14:14 TPT Jesus barely had any time alone to start processing the grief of losing someone He loved, but He doesn’t appear to be bothered by it. Jesus does the unexpected. He continues to give practically to the people, meeting their needs. This is a wonderful example of Jesus' capacity to love others when He is in suffering. John Maxwell says an interesting thing about Jesus' actions, "One of the greatest remedies for our own suffering is serving others. Servant-leadership becomes a solution for both the one serving and the one being served." (The John Maxwell Leadership Bible, Page 1198) After Jesus had healed many people, the disciples thought it was time for the crowds to go so Jesus' could have some space and rest. Toward evening the disciples approached him. "We're out in the country and it's getting late. Dismiss the people so they can go to the villages and get some supper. Matthew 14:15 The Message The crowd is still on His mind But Jesus still has the crowd on His mind, and is ready once again to do the unexpected. "They don't need to leave," Jesus responded. "You can give them something to eat." Matthew 14:16 TPT The disciples are a little perplexed as they know they don't have enough food to feed the people, which we find out later in the story numbered more than 5000. And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." Matthew 14:17 NKJV The disciples, probably like me if I was in that situation, could only see what they had in the 'natural.' But Jesus saw the potential in the supernatural. Jesus said, "Bring them here." Then he had the people sit on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, lifted his face to heaven in prayer, blessed, broke, and gave the bread to the disciples. The disciples then gave the food to the congregation. They all ate their full. They gathered twelve baskets of leftovers. About five thousand were fed. Matthew 14:18-21 TPT Jesus does the unexpected Jesus does the unexpected. He feeds more than five thousand people from the starting ingredients of five loaves of bread and two fish. How? I don't really know, other than what the Scriptures tell us: He looked up to heaven (showing His complete reliance on His Father - God). Note; The Chosen a historical series, beautifully depicts Jesus looking up to heaven before He does a miracle. He gave thanks to God (acknowledged that everything He has comes from The Father). He broke the bread into pieces (Jesus took action with what was in His hand) Jesus is still doing the unexpected today Jesus does the unexpected in how He provides food the five thousand. He is still doing the unexpected today in our lives, especially in this season of living with COVID-19. For example, lets take a look at one of the things God values most, relationships. In my world, since the arrival of COVID-19, I have seen and experienced relationships that have deepened through shared experiences; relationships that have been restored as priorities shifted, and relationships that have become more authentic as pain surfaced and is processed. Jesus has done the unexpected. Once again. What have you seen Jesus do, unexpectedly, in your world in this season? Lets continue to keep our eyes on Jesus, trusting that He will carry on doing the unexpected, with provision, healing and restoration. I'll finish with these lyrics from Hillsong United's Song, Shadow Step. In every way, You never fail So have Your way, here God And I'll sing Your praise Fix my heart to Yours Ready for the unexpected Ready for what you will do next To find out more please visit https://wendyrobinson.com.au
2020 LIFE & CHURCH REIMAGINED 2020 will bring vision and clarity! Decades ago, futurists predicted what the world would look like in this milestone-year in human history. They said we would have self-driving cars, vote electronically from home, depression would be a primary disease, people would live on mars, and that we would work 26 hours a week. Some predictions were spot-on, while others have alluded us. Some of us dreamed of “Jetson’s” lifestyles with robot-maids and travel by spaceships. What will be your 2020 predictions for marriage, parenting, business, and church? Will you be happy this year? Where will you be by the end of this decade? Will the derailing compulsions, addictions and unhealthy patterns still haunt you? As a church, what will be the future? Will we reimagine God’s kingdom in church community? Will we find peace, joy and fulfillment? Will we see ourselves with a futuristic clarity? This year will be the beginning of something special! By Pastor Scott Jefferson Scriptures - John 14:21-24 (NKJV) - He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. - Romans 8:14-17 (NKJV) - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. - John 5:30 (TPT) - “Nothing I do is from my own initiative, for as I hear the judgment passed by my Father, I execute judgment. And my judgments will be perfect, because I can do nothing on my own, except to fulfill the desires of my Father who sent me. - Deuteronomy 10:12 (AMP) - “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear [and worship] the Lord your God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect], to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in all His ways and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul [your choices, your thoughts, your whole being], - Matthew 22:37 (TPT) - Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’ - Romans 5:5 (TPT) - And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! - Galatians 5:22 (NKJV) - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, - John 5:19 (NKJV) - Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. - John 12:50 (NKJV) - And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” - John 15:9-10 (NKJV) - “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. - 2 John 1:6 (MSG) - I can’t tell you how happy I am to learn that many members of your congregation are diligent in living out the Truth, exactly as commanded by the Father. But permit me a reminder, friends, and this is not a new commandment but simply a repetition of our original and basic charter: that we love each other. Love means following his commandments, and his unifying commandment is that you conduct your lives in love. This is the first thing you heard, and nothing has changed. - Luke 6:46-49 (MSG) - “Why are you so polite with me, always saying ‘Yes, sir,’ and ‘That’s right, sir,’ but never doing a thing I tell you? These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundation words, words to build a life on. 47 “Why are you so polite with me, always saying ‘Yes, sir,’ and ‘That’s right, sir,’ but never doing a thing I tell you? These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. When the river burst its banks and crashed against the house, nothing could shake it; it was built to last. But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a dumb carpenter who built a house but skipped the foundation. What happens when hope starts slipping away? Darkness descends. It is difficult to think or see anything other than the negative. Stuff happens. Sometimes from wrong choices we've made. Sometimes other people's wrong choices impact us. Sometimes things happen and we don't know why. Earlier this week I was listening to Amanda Cook's song, City of Hope ... Once we were a barren land Dry from disappointment But heaven like a heavy rain Revealed your heart for us Now we're dusting off our instruments In you we found our will to live What was once a wilderness Is seeming with new life 'Cause you are mending the broken-hearted You are making all things new And you're rebuilding out of the ruins A city of hope with the ones you love How beautiful are those lines ... 'Cause you are mending the broken-hearted... He heals the wounds of every shattered heart. He sets his stars in place, calling them all by their names.5How great is our God! There’s absolutely nothing his power cannot accomplish, and he has infinite understanding of everything. Psalm 147:3-5 TPT You are making all things new ... Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:5 NKJV There is one that can give hope - Jesus. I have seen Him do that in my life, my husband's life, and many other people's lives. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. Isaiah 61:1-4 NKJV Jesus. Our Saviour. A foundation that is solid, The Rock, not the sand of this world that shifts and changes with the latest trends. Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation. “But everyone who hears my teaching and does not apply it to his life can be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. When it rained and rained and the flood came, with wind and waves beating upon his house, it collapsed and was swept away.” Matthew 7:24-27 TPT Jesus. Only Jesus. Surrender. Bestselling author and Certified Daring Way™ and Dare to Lead™ Facilitator (based on the research of Brené Brown) Justine Froelker talks how self care is neither selfish nor sinful, but rather life-saving and life-giving. If we cannot love ourselves and follow Jesus' example of practicing self care in solitude to 'fill ourselves' up, we cannot live and love as He did, offering our gifts to the world to our fullest capacities. ...And none of this involves shaming other influencers, like Rachel Hollis, or disputing their methods of helping people live their best selves.Matthew 14:23 (VOICE):Then, after the crowd had gone, Jesus went up to a mountaintop alone (as He had intended from the start). You sit here while I’m at prayer.Matthew 22:37-39 (TPT):Jesus answered him, “‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’ This is the great and supreme commandment. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, GOD showed up and said to him, "I am The Strong God, live entirely before me, live to the hilt! I'll make a covenant between us and I'll give you a huge family." Overwhelmed, Abram fell flat on his face. Genesis 17:1-2 The Message This morning I had no idea what to write about, so I prayed and continued my reading of Genesis, and one verse jumped out at me, Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him saying, Genesis 17:3 NKJV Well, it wasn't even the whole verse, just those first 6 words, Then Abram fell on his face There have been a few times in the past couple of weeks when I have felt so overwhelmed with the faithfulness of God that I felt like doing that - just falling on my face, lying prostate in awe at our God. (I'll share more about that in future posts) But I haven't. I've just either sat my desk weeping, or stood at the ironing board... weeping, or driven my car ... weeping. There is something so special about waiting, trusting, and then seeing that second part of John 10:10 manifest.... But I have come to give you life in abundance, more than you expect - life in its fullness until you overflow. John 10:10 TPT Actually the waiting and learning to trust is not really so special - just a lot of relying on the Holy Spirit to teach me patience and self-control. But lets get back to the falling on your face... as I read that scripture I thought, I wonder how many people mentioned in The Bible fell on their face at the wonder of God? So I did a google search. Here are some of the results. Moses and Aaron... Moses and Aaron walked from the assembled congregation to the Tent of Meeting and threw themselves facedown on the ground. And they saw the Glory of God. Numbers 20:6 The Message The children of Israel, at the time of Elijah's victory on Mount Carmel ... Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, "The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God! 1 Kings 18:38-39 NKJV The three disciples that saw Jesus' glorious transfiguration ... But while Peter was still speaking, a radiant cloud composed of light spread over them, enveloping them all. And God's voice suddenly spoke from the cloud, saying, "This is my dearly beloved Son, the constant focus of my delight. Listen to him!" The three disciples were dazed and terrified by this phenomenon, and they fell facedown on the ground. Matthew 17:5-6 TPT Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane ... Then he walked a short distance away, and overcome with grief, he threw himself facedown on the ground and prayed, "My Father, if there is any way you can deliver me from this suffering, please take it from me. Yet what I want is not important, for I only desire to fulfill your plan in me." Then an angel from heaven appeared to strengthen him. Matthew 26:39 TPT In Heaven they are falling on their faces... All who were standing around the Throne - Angels, Elders, Animals - fell on their faces before the Throne and worshiped God, singing: Oh, Yes! The blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving, The honour and power and strength, To our God forever ad ever and ever! Oh, Yes! Revelation 7:11-12 The Message From just these few scripture we can see that it is okay, actually more than okay, to fall on your face, as it positions us to .... Acknowledge the greatness of God when you physically can't do anything else (example - Abraham; the three disciples) See the glory of God (example - Moses and Aaron) Submit to the truth that the LORD is God (example - Children of Israel) Surrender and receive strength from God (example - Jesus) Worship in awe (example - Angels in heaven) For me, in the times when I have literally fallen on my face and worshipped God, they have been an amazing times of surrendering, overwhelmed with awe, followed by a beautiful time of the Holy Spirit ministering God's love. Times when my hands and feet weren't tempted to do something else, but just be and focus completely on God. In our world today we need to be constantly reminding ourselves of who our God is, and purposefully drawing closer to Him. Falling on your face is a great way to position yourself to do exactly that. Why not try it sometime and see what God does. Be expectant. To find out more please visit https://wendyrobinson.com.au
TODAY'S EPISODE NOTES TO BE BUILT MEANS I MUST… THINK it till I FEEL it, FEEL it till I DO it, and DO it till I LIVE it! ____________________ MANY PEOPLE … SING the Word TALK the Word QUOTE the Word ANALYZE the Word Put the Word on magnets and BUMPER stickers TATTOO the Word to their arms STUDY the Word (Greek/Hebrew) WRITE PAPERS on the Word Set Word promises on SMALL CARDS around their house Listen to the Word on Cd and MP3 Go to CONFERENCES for the Word YET still refuse TO DO THE WORD! ____________________ BUILT THINK IT FEEL IT DO IT [LIVE IT] ____________________ MARK 11:22-24 TPT Jesus replied, “Let the FAITH of God be in you! 23 Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great FAITH and having no doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and BELIEVES that what he says will happen, it will be done. 24 This is the reason I urge you to BOLDLY BELIEVE for whatever you ask for in prayer—BELIEVE that you have received it and it will be yours. Real Faith in the Word says, “If God says it is true, it is.” If God says He is the strength of my life, He is. So I go about doing my work because He is what He says He is, and I am what He says I am.” If He says I am STRONG, I am. If He says I have JOY, then I do. If He says SERVING OTHERS gives meaning to my life, then that is what I do. If He says that GIVING FINANCIAL to His Kingdom is what multiplies my own resources, then I give. If He says that MY FORGIVENESS OF OTHERS is a choice of obedience that frees up my life, then I forgive. If He says that I HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN and guilt has been removed, then I am forgiven and act as though no more guilt exist. ____________________ HEBREWS 4:1-3 TPT Now God has offered to us the same promise of entering into his realm of resting in CONFIDENT FAITH. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all EMBRACE THE FULLNESS of that PROMISE and NOT FAIL TO EXPERIENCE IT. 2 For we have heard the good news of deliverance just as they did, yet THEY DIDN’T JOIN THEIR FAITH WITH THE WORD. Instead, what they heard didn’t affect them deeply, for they doubted. 3 For those of us who believe, FAITH ACTIVATES THE PROMISE and we EXPERIENCE the realm of confident rest! 2 KINDS OF UNBELIEF Based on IGNORANCE God’s Word Based on DISOBEDIENCE to integrate, regulate and activate God’s Word Choose not to THINK it Choose not to FEEL it Choose not to DO it Choose not to LIVE it ____________________ JAMES 2:17-19 TPT So then FAITH that doesn’t involve ACTION is PHONY. 18 … I will show you FAITH by my WORKS (actions/activations) as proof that I BELIEVE. 19 You can BELIEVE all you want that there is one true God, that’s wonderful! But even the demons know (BELIEVE) this and tremble with fear before him, yet they’re unchanged—they remain demons. ____________________ FAITH: CAN I DO THIS? ROMANS 12:3 NKJV For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to EACH ONE a MEASURE OF FAITH. ROMANS 10:17 NKJV So then FAITH [COMES] BY HEARING, and hearing by the WORD OF GOD. ____________________ TO BE BUILT MEANS I MUST… INTEGRATE God’s Word into my THINKING REGULATE God’s Word into my EMOTIONS ACTIVATE God’s Word into my DOING TO BE BUILT MEANS I MUST… THINK it till I FEEL it, FEEL it till I DO it, and DO it till I LIVE it! ____________________ HOW WILL I… BUILT THINK IT? "Thank you Jesus." This is how I start my prayer time each day, with these three words. There is so much to be thankful for. A list of specific things would go on and on and on. But sometimes in the making of that list of things, our focus can sway from Jesus to the things. So sometimes it is good to pause and simply say, "Thank you Jesus." The story of Jesus healing the ten lepers reminds us of this. Jesus travelled on toward Jerusalem and passed through the border region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one village, ten men approached him, but they kept their distance, for they were lepers. They shouted to him, "Mighty Lord, our wonderful Master! Won't you have mercy on us and heal us?" Luke 17:11-13 TPT How many times have we shouted out to Jesus, "Please help me Jesus, I need you. Please help me to get through this day." When Jesus stopped to look at them, he spoke these words, "Go to be examined by the Jewish priests." They set off, and they were healed while walking along the way. Luke 17:14 TPT Jesus heard their shouting and responded, telling them what to do. They obeyed. Jesus healed them on the way. One of them, a foreigner from Samaria, when he discovered that he was completely healed, turned back to find Jesus, shouting out joyous praises and glorifying God. When he found Jesus, he fell down at his feet and thanked him over and over, saying to him, "You are the Messiah." This man was a Samaritan. Luke 17:15-16 TPT Only one of the ten came back and gave thanks. He recognised who Jesus was. Then Jesus inquires about the other nine. "So where are the other nine?" asked Jesus. "Weren't there ten who were healed? They all refused to return to give thanks and give glory to God except you, a foreigner from Samaria?" Then Jesus said to the healed man lying at his feet, "Arise and go. It was your faith that brought you salvation and healing." Luke 17:17-19 TPT Jesus is merciful. He hears our shouts. He responds. Then it is up to us... Do we obey? Do we give thanks? Do we get greater revelation of who Jesus is? Do we remember? This morning I was reading this in Revelation ... Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4 NKJV The Amplified version really does amplify it .... But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. Revelation 2:4 AMPC Urggghhh. Selah - pause and think on that. Simply pausing regularly and saying a heartfelt, "Thank you Jesus" can help us maintain and nuture the love we have for Him. So let's take time to do that today. Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMPC To find out more please visit https://wendyrobinson.com.au
I'm really excited for our second of a four part series inspired by the 4-elements. We explore the element of air this week and its connection to our breath. The Holy Spirit breathes the breath of life into us, causing life and awakening. It is the spirit of God, and the power of God that establishes our freedom, something we can’t do on our own. The following verses are referenced in this weeks meditation: Gen 2:7 (NASB) - God breathes into Adam John 20:22 (TPT) - Jesus breathes on the disciples and says receive the Holy Spirit Romans 8:2 (VOICE) - The law of the spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death
