Dorin also asks, don't you have to think about Kirk Cousins if you want to win? Jeff thinks the Steelers need to know about Kenny Pickett, even if they aren't in it and go 6-11. The Steelers seemingly are being pushed down the line for offensive coordinator options. Is Tampa a better OC job than the Steelers? We discuss the options for the Steelers moving forward at quarterback. Austin argues if Mason Rudolph (or Pickett for that matter), becomes Geno Smith, it's not enough with an AFC loaded with great quarterbacks.  If the Steelers trade up and/or draft a quarterback to push Kenny Pickett, it more so says the Steelers are looking to move in a new direction. Things could have been different if they didn't win their last three games. Jeff is adamant the Steelers must give Pickett the chance to prove he's the guy with a new coordinator and full year. We grade the job Omar Khan, Andy Weidl, and Mike Tomlin did this past year. Weidl and Khan received higher grades than Tomlin, who progressively got worse with a C+ average as we went around the room.

Wisconsin City Manager John Weidl's boundaries were crossed by members of his governing body while out on paternity leave. This led him to start searching for another position where he was ultimately named as a finalist for a manager position in a neighboring community. However, he withdrew from the recruitment and opted to continue serving as the city manager for the City of Whitewater. The Steelers made a few moves before we got on the air, including the signing of another linebacker and cutting one free. The team signed Elandon Roberts who had over 100 tackles last year with the Dolphins. In a transition move, the team cut Myles Jack. The guys are in favor of the move because it feels like Omar Khan is doing things a little bit differently, for the better.  Patrick Peterson has had his introductory press conference and says Kenny Pickett has some “pizazz” to him. Peterson is still confident he can have a big impact on any defense even at 32 years old. The guys determined which WR1 you feel comfortable with Peterson facing based on the Steelers opponents next season. Nate Herbig, another Steelers addition, had high praise for Andy Weidl and the guys really got the feel that Weidl is having a lot of input in the off-season. The guys love the new big man after he said David DeCastro was a big influence.  The West Virginia Mountaineers are one and done in the NCAA Tournament after blowing a big first half lead to Maryland. And the Furman Paladins pull off a shocker against Virginia.

Poni's favorite answer from Art Rooney II earlier today was about Andy Weidl and Omar Khan working together in the off-season and with the draft, which gives him hope the Steelers will let Weidl give his input after seeing what has happened to the Eagles roster in the last few years with Weidl involved. The guys were surprised the Rooney seemed to be more excited about the offense than the defense and didn't use the TJ Watt injury excuse that most people expected. Based on what we heard today, Poni thinks a defensive player could be the pick at 17 – Chris thinks another answer hinted at the offensive line being improved in round one.  One of the things Art Rooney II said today was him hating the idea of neutral site championship games. He doesn't think it happens anytime soon, but the end of his answer didn't rule it out forever.  Steve Palazzolo from Pro Football Focus joined the show. The guys asked Steve what the Steelers plan of attack could be in the off-season given their history and estimated cap space. Steve was going over teams that are still alive and how the Steelers could work there way to that level – citing the 49ers as a perfect example of weapons galore. There are a few former Steelers in the playoffs that are pending free agents – could any of them make a return to Pittsburgh? Steve said Javon Hargrave is one of the best free agents on the upcoming market. Steve said Cam Sutton will get some additional looks because of his versatility as a corner. Looking to the draft, Steve talked about instant impact and that his order, given the Steelers needs, would be wide receiver, cornerback and offensive tackle. Steve said Joey Porter Jr. would be a solid pick at 17, but not great, but he likes the idea of taking a shot at a corner with that pick. 

Crowley knows fans are excited about Andy Weidl and what he can do to rebuild the Steelers roster. He gives one reason why you should be excited and one big reason why you shouldn't. Andy Weidl might be much needed for his draft acumen, do we trust him? We also do a game of Fake or For Real with Friends. 

Doug says that younger players should be at every phase of OTA's. He also thinks the Steelers could still add to their secondary. Doug says that the Steelers should circle back on Joe Haden if he would be okay with a one-year deal. He also talked about the nature of a CB depth chart in the modern game. Colin asked Doug about the nuances of new staff members fitting into gameday...Doug says there is a misconception that coaches and GM's don't work together around the league. Doesn't necessarily think Tomlin has more power than other coaches. On the topic of Andy Weidl Doug says that defense, running the ball are foundational in Baltimore. In Philly, Weidl had to help maximize draft capital. Doug thinks that DeShaun Watson will ultimately be suspended 6-8 games. 

Brad thinks Omar Khan is a better personnel guy than he's given credit for. He thinks he can keep status quo but implement some new things that can plug some holes. Brad said that he thinks the addition of Weidl is a huge edition that could fill some of the blind spots that Khan could have. Brad thinks that Weidl being an "outsider" can just add a different perspective on information implementation. Brad said that the additions of Cole and Daniels will "make a big difference," when it comes to Najee Harris and the running game. " I think he had a strong rookie year...There's a possibility for a big improvement from year one to year two."

The Eagles have another front office position to fill after vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl left the team to take a job with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Giglio thinks that Weidl will be running a team as the head man one day. He also thinks Louis Riddick got a real shot to be the Steelers GM. Joe says that Howie isn't looked at as a "football guy" GM, therefore the loss of Weidl will be felt by Eagles fans. Jeff said he, like many, are mesmerized by Najee Harris' size heading into his second season.
