How Season 50 Was Won (And Lost) Today, Rob Cesternino dives deep into what really determined Survivor 50. This special episode, featuring Rob solo, offers an exceptional breakdown of the most pivotal moments, surprising shifts, and hidden factors that led to Aubry's unpredictable win. Rob painstakingly retraces every tribal, alliance shakeup, and win probability swing, asking: Was Survivor 50 about big moves — or simply outlasting the chaos? This episode unpacks the most consequential events from the current Survivor season. Rob explains his unique “win share” calculations, tracking each player's changing odds to win after every elimination. He takes listeners through early exits (like Jenna Lewis and Kyle), the devastating impact of the Blood Moon triple elimination, and the strategic ripples after power players like Mike White, Charlie, and Ozzy are sent packing. As alliances shatter and new threats emerge, the episode sheds light on how key gameplay decisions — from hidden immunity idols to the art of flying under the radar — carve new paths to the end. Rob highlights Aubry's journey, watching her odds climb from the bottom, as well as how players like Cirie, Rizo, and Tiffany rise and fall with each vote. Key moments in the episode include: – The dramatic Blood Moon night and its impact on Genevieve, Colby, and Kamilla – Cirie's near-miss as a front-runner and the social dynamics that lead to her blindside – Rob's breakdown of “win share”—how rapidly odds shift for favorites like Ozzy, Jonathan, and Aubry – The value of laying low versus making flashy moves, seen through Aubry's late-game push and hidden threat management – Critical alliance upheavals after big moves, including the ousters of Mike White, Charlie, and Rick Devens Does playing a quiet, adaptive game now trump bold moves and big threats as the surest path to $2 million in Survivor 50? Can calculating the win equity at each vote help us truly understand how Aubry survived the bloodbath? Tune in as Rob untangles the chaos and reveals the unexpected truths behind Survivor's landmark fiftieth season. Meet Captain Content & Kevin in the pit again this week for a hella good time! We're getting our aggressions out by revisiting the starting point of it all for Kevin. The thrash, crossover, speed metal movement of the 80s spawned his love of all things rock n' punk n' metal. This time around the circle pit, we are focusing on Crossover Thrash. A sub-genre defined as short bursts of hardcore punk with metal guitar riffing. This was perfect skateboarding music, which intertwined with the Sk8 subculture in the 80s and 90s. Hope ya have a slammin' good time with this one! What is it that we do here at InObscuria? We exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In this episode we explore all things mosh-worthy! This is real metal, people. All hail the speed and delightful absurdity of Crossover Thrash! Our hope is that we turn you on to something new. Kris McDonald is a Creative Director and Senior Editor at XAV, and the founder of Behind the Trailer — a free educational platform dedicated to helping aspiring trailer editors break into the business and level up their craft. He came up through Open Road and Trailer Park before landing at XAV (which was Project X at the time), where he's built a career cutting campaigns for major studio and streaming titles including The Chosen, The Big Cigar, and Deepwater Horizon. In this episode, Kris traces his path from runner to creative director, reflects on the mentors and moments that shaped him, and pulls back the curtain on what it actually takes to cut a trailer that makes an audience stop breathing. Key Takeaways Say yes to everything — even the soccer video. Early in his career, Kris was asked to cut a highlight reel for a client's daughter's graduation party. He treated it like a studio campaign, stayed late, and poured everything into it. The client loved it, sat him down in the bay, and introduced him to the work of Nick Temple. The lesson: every cut is an audition. Set a goal, then chase it down. After learning that his mentor Adrian finished his first trailer at 25, Kris made it a personal mission to hit that same milestone. He cut constantly, studied obsessively, and hit the mark — finishing his first trailer on The Blind Side right around his 25th birthday. Emotion, story, rhythm — in that order. Kris breaks down the three pillars he builds every cut around, drawn from Walter Murch's In the Blink of an Eye. A trailer can be slick and fast and technically impressive, but without emotion, it doesn't land. Trial and error is the process. When asked about a gut-punch moment of silence in the Deepwater Horizon trailer, Kris was refreshingly honest: he knew what he wanted the audience to feel, but finding the right technique was pure experimentation. Knowing the destination and figuring out the route are two different skills. Behind the Trailer exists to pay it forward. Everything Kris knows, he learned because someone in a bay was willing to show him their sequences and give him notes. Behind the Trailer is his way of making that kind of mentorship available to anyone who wants it — for free. Standout Quotes "I want you to feel like you can't breathe. I know that this is the moment of the trailer where your breath is taken away. Now, how do I do that?" "I cut a lot of bad trailers. I got good at creating an open, but then it would just drag." "Any sort of information I can give back to people wanting to get into this industry — that's the number one goal." "This is my dream job. I'll never stop cutting." Rob Has a Podcast | Survivor / Big Brother / Amazing Race - RHAP
Frannie Marin Talks Survivor 50 Ep 11 Things get wild as Survivor 50 speeds toward its finale, with Rob Cesternino back in the studio and joined by Survivor 44’s Frannie Marin. In this recap episode, Rob and Frannie unpack the pivotal twists, strategic gambits, and shifting alliances that define one of the most chaotic episodes yet. Rivalries heat up, idols get wasted, and the power dynamics shift in surprising ways, all as fans hold their breath for what's next in the landmark season of Survivor. Survivor 50's high-stakes gameplay takes center stage, as Rob and Frannie analyze the controversial power broker twist that splits the tribe into two small groups with one player flipping between votes. They debate the consequences of Jonathan's overpowered immunity streak and the kind of influence he wields over the split tribes. Frannie reflects on Ozzy's emotional journey and ultimate blindside, complete with a pocketed idol, while questioning if Rizo's strategic betrayal leaves him better off or isolated. Scenes like Aubry's wily bug-eating in the auction, Joe's old-school ethics clashing with Rick Devins' brash antics, and Tiffany's quiet but rising threat status fuel the discussion on what it takes to thrive in this ever-shifting “house rules” version of Survivor. Rob and Frannie also highlight how the doubled $2 million prize affects (or doesn't) people's decisions, and debate whether under-edited players like Tiffany are actually set up to win big. Key moments discussed: – The controversial power broker twist, splitting the tribe and letting Jonathan vote twice – Ozzy's dramatic exit with an idol in his pocket after a prophetic dream – Aubry's scrappy survival, shifting from dismissed to dangerous – The evolving rivalry between Joe and Rick, and its roots in old wounds – Tiffany's under-the-radar rise and social game, with Frannie breaking down winner edit theories As Survivor 50 nears its climax, Rob and Frannie ask: Can Cirie survive without her shield, and has the game outgrown the classic “lions vs. hyenas” dynamic? Who stands out as the real jury threats as the game tightens? Tune in for an episode packed with sharp Survivor analysis, sneaky alliances, and the burning question: Can anyone stop Cirie's march to victory, or is a new underdog about to seize the crown? 0:00 Frannie Marin Returns to the Podcast 1:14 Mystery of Omer's Dented Car 4:01 Billie Eilish Concert Movie Invite 9:47 Survivor 50's Power Broker Twist 17:05 Ozzy's Survivor 50 Exit Discussed 21:34 Frannie on Survivor Persona vs. Real Life 28:28 Does $2 Million Change Gameplay? 33:10 Joe vs. Rick: Rivalry and Motives 40:52 Rizo's Blindside of Ozzy Debated 54:23 Aubry's Underdog Journey Examined 1:05:09 Tiffany's Rising Winner Potential 1:27:23 Can Cirie Survive the Endgame? Shannon Guss Weighs In on Survivor 50 So Far Shannon Guss checks in from maternity leave with Chappell to discuss everything from Survivor 50 so far. The duo talk about the players’ legacies, the big votes, the edit, the twists, Jeff’s major moments and declare a Chissy winner for the season. Survivor Global is back as Survivor 50 enters a pivotal stretch, with Shannon Guss returning from maternity leave to join co-host Chappell for a no-holds-barred analysis of the current state of the game. The two dive right into the aftermath of Christian's exit, examining how production twists like Blood Moon and Tied Destinies are shaping the game and impacting both players and viewers. Shannon Guss shares why these overpowered twists make it tough to get invested, especially when fan favorites risk being swap-screwed or boxed in by shifting rules. This episode of Survivor Global dishes up honest takes on Survivor 50's “character season” editing, the surprising effectiveness of the cast, and whether strategy is being suffocated by production's new-era mechanics. Shannon reflects on standout scenes like Cirie's triumphant Exile Island return, the heartbreaking exit of major characters, and the rise of underdogs like Rizo. Chappell balances the debate with thoughts on boot order satisfaction and what it means to root for your “case” in the game. Survivor AU: Redemption Mark Warnock Deep Dive Today, Mike Bloom dives deep with contestant, Mark Warnock, about his time on Australian Survivor: Redemption. Mark Warnock brings all the behind-the-scenes drama, starting with the shock of being the last-minute returnee, leading to one of the wildest Tribal Councils and strategy scrambles of the season. Whether it's wearing a bold “Caleb, you are not beating the allegations” shirt or orchestrating live tribals, Mark pulls back the curtain on the chaos of Redemption Beach and what it's really like to run the show—until the show runs you. Mark shares how he was contacted at the very last moment to join the “Redemption” season, returned to Samoa with a cutthroat mindset, and navigated shifting alliances, idol finds, and orchestrated blindsides. He breaks down his approaches in connecting early with competitors like Faith and Brooke, forming “head office” alliances, and executing daring live votes—including pulling people out of the voting lines to flip the result in front of the tribe. Hear candid behind-the-scenes takes on the infamous Kat vote switch, the fallout from early game power moves, and the rivalry with Johnson, as well as what it's like being targeted as “the boss” by new players. Key moments and gameplay: Mark reveals the wild scramble to join the season, how family and work played into his late decision, and what inspired him to play harder the second time. A breakdown of the live tribal that flipped the first vote from Johnson to Kat, with Mark explaining the risks, social reads, and fallout back at camp. How “head office” dynamics with Faith and Keeley controlled strategy, but also sowed the seeds for explosive betrayals at swap and beyond. Hilarious moments from camp life, including alliance-building over band tattoos and shelter-building grudges, as well as a “Cornship Cartel” underwater alliance. Deep look into tribal council strategy: creating fake idols, pivoting targets live, and the struggle to balance being both shield and target. What will happen when playing a “boss” game puts all eyes—and votes—on you? Can you truly trust your number one ally, and is it ever smart to show your idol at Tribal? Tune in to catch every twist, tribe flip, and dramatic confessional as Redemption leaves nothing off the table. Survivor AU: Redemption | Shannon Guss Breaks Down this Wild Postmerge Mike Bloom and Shannon Guss break down a wild run of gameplay where chaos at Tribal Council is the name of the game. This episode dives deep into why split votes aren't as simple as they look, how a sneaky idol play can change everything, and what it actually means to grab credit for a big Survivor move. Mike and Shannon recap a jam-packed set of episodes from Australian Survivor: Redemption, starting with a straightforward merge boot but quickly shifting gears into a week of power shifts, fake idols, and near rock draws. They spotlight how returnees and newbies both shake up voting dynamics, featuring moments like Mark playing his idol to blindside Rich, Keeley's risky idol save for Brooke, and Jackson's last-minute turn on his closest ally. The episode examines how live Tribal chaos, group splits, and new alliances pop up on the fly. As strategic bombshells drop, the hosts debate who's truly in control and whose résumé shines for the jury—especially when big threats are voted out before the final push. Shannon Guss shares why the 4-3-2-1 split vote is her Survivor “bat signal” and reveals what makes this season's gameplay unpredictable. Camp laughs over “Davo” and the Davo edit, a contestant suddenly taking center stage with over-the-top confessionals. Deep dive into Keeley's read and gutsy idol play to save Brooke, with Mike and Shannon analyzing whether it's the boldest move of the season. The agony and comedy of newbies (and Sally!) overthinking or botching splits, plus what happens when former outsiders take control. Spotlight on big decisions: Mark's idol play, Simon's shifting loyalties, and why jury management may be the true endgame. Will Brooke or Keeley keep dodging bullets, or are the power players running out of room to scramble? Can a newbie finally break the so-called “returnee curse,” and how do wild moves affect jury credit? Follow along as this high-stakes season barrels toward the finale. Survivor AU: Redemption Episode 12 Recap Australian Survivor: Redemption is back with another wild pre-merge ride! Host Mike Bloom is joined by special guest Omar Zaheer to break down all the strategy, twists, and chaos from the latest episode. A shocking blindside takes center stage, as alliances fracture and a top player learns just how quickly fortunes can shift in the outback. This episode dives into the unraveling of the powerful “Head Office” alliance as Faith, Mark, and Keely's partnership explodes in dramatic fashion. The Redemption Beach twist shakes up voting power, leaving returning players and newbies scrambling to adapt. The show's major twist—players returning to camp without their votes—forces contenders to think on their feet. Mike and Omar analyze Faith's brutally honest approach, Mark's pivotal decision to betray his closest ally, and the debate over whether it's ever the right time to strike first or wait for jury. There's also an in-depth look at challenge throwing, idol expiry rules, and the always-entertaining dynamic between the returnees and superfans. Key points in this episode: Mark's dilemma: Is it too soon to flip on your number one, or was Faith's honesty too much to ignore? Faith's exit—the emotional and strategic fallout of the season's biggest blindside. The chaos and calculations around the Redemption Beach twist and lost votes. Omar's take on why Australian Survivor's unpredictable challenge throws create unique gameplay moments. Hilarious asides about pet peeves, Australian nicknames, and who might just have the smallest hands in the cast. With the merge on the horizon, fractured loyalties and shifting power balance put Survivor's mantra—“outwit, outplay, outlast”—to the test. Will Mark's risky move pay off, or will new alliances endanger his game? Tune in for full analysis, deep strategy talk, and Survivor hot takes, including idol plays, alliance fractures, and what to expect now that the game—and the jury—are around the corner! If you ever wondered what happens when pop culture chaos meets questionable life decisions and just enough caffeine to fuel bad takes… welcome back to your favorite daily comedy show.Today's episode kicks off with a Star Wars “what could've been” that has us screaming into the galaxy. Apparently, Adam Driver pitched a standalone Kylo Ren movie and Disney said, “Nah.” Which means somewhere in an alternate universe, we're watching a billion-dollar backstory about Han and Leia's brooding kid — and instead we're just rewatching The Mandalorian trailer like the rest of civilization. We break down the missed opportunity and question Disney's decision-making like we're qualified executives. (We're not.)Then things take a turn when we unpack the wild situation involving The Blind Side actor Quentin Aaron — a spinal stroke, a coma, and waking up to find out your “wife” wasn't legally your wife at all. That's not a subplot. That's real life. We react in real time and try to wrap our heads around that level of chaos.Speaking of chaos — YouTube turned 21. Yes, we're officially old. We revisit the very first upload (“Me at the Zoo”) and spiral into nostalgia about how a 19-second elephant video turned into a trillion hours of conspiracy theories, mukbangs, and cat content. The internet is undefeated. In Crap on Celebrities, we dive into:Bourbon & Beyond festival lineup (bourbon, bands, and potential poor decisions)The possibility of a “lost” Van Halen albumOzzy's emotional final performance moment (yes, we teared up… a little)Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO content overload — is the celebrity machine moving too fast?Hugh Hefner's alleged sex diary controversy (because of course that exists)Shia LaBeouf getting knocked around in New OrleansAnd the most diabolical sitcom characters ever (Cartman supremacy confirmed)Plus: Match Up with Moon returns, and Riz is still rocking a goose egg. Competitive tension? Absolutely. Grace? Minimal. This episode is peak Rizz and the gang — music, celebrity nonsense, questionable nostalgia, sarcastic debates, and just enough heartfelt moments to remind you we're human… allegedly. If you're looking for a daily comedy show that blends entertainment gossip, weird news, St. Louis energy, and just the right amount of chaos, congratulations — you found it.Welcome to the daily comedy show where even the serious stories take a weird left turn.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
In this special, live recording of The Important Part, SoFi's Head of Investment Strategy Liz Thomas asks the question many investors are thinking about: when – if ever – will the markets cool off? She sits down with two of the top critical thinkers in the world of finance: Tom Lee, Co-founder and Head of Research at Fundstrat, and Michael Lewis, the New York Times bestselling author of Moneyball, The Big Short, The Blind Side, and Going Infinite. Together, they work through the most pressing questions facing investors in 2026. Discover why retail investors are outperforming hedge funds, whether gold has peaked, and if Bitcoin's 40% dip signals a crypto winter. Lee explains why the recent AI-driven software tumble could actually reflect corporate productivity gains, while Lewis shares his contrarian gold bet and why he's “long fear.” They tackle the independence of the Federal Reserve under nominee Kevin Warsh, the risks of AI job displacement, and whether the federal government could nationalize failing AI companies. Bestselling author Michael Lewis has spent decades practicing the habits of the sharpest business thinkers: questioning assumptions, navigating past blind spots, and revealing why conventional wisdom so often leads smart people astray. Lewis is the author of a remarkable run of business bestsellers, including Liar's Poker, Moneyball, Flash Boys, The Big Short, Boomerang, The Undoing Project, and Going Infinite. Both Moneyball and The Big Short were made into Oscar Best Picture-nominated films, as was The Blind Side, another of Lewis's non-fiction classics. In this exclusive episode of Monday Morning Radio, Lewis reflects on why true success derives from taking the long view rather than aiming for quick results, and how doing the hard, unglamorous work others avoid can create an outsized, enduring advantage. Lewis's conversation with founding Monday Morning Radio host Dean Rotbart was recorded when the author was honored as a Business News Visionary. While the interview dates back several years, in this abridged version of their talk, the insights Lewis shares are strikingly current — offering inspired ideas that apply to entrepreneurs, executives, and business owners navigating uncertainty, disruption, and change today. [Michael Lewis will be featured in All You Can Eat Business Wisdom: Second Helpings, coming in April 2026. The anthology is the sequel of co-host Maxwell Rotbart's award winning first edition, All You Can Eat Business Wisdom: A Monday Morning Radio Anthology of Actionable Advice.] Monday Morning Radio is hosted by the father-son duo of Dean and Maxwell Rotbart.
