And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a toddler who flew out of a moving vehicle and almost got run over, a wild video of a ceiling collapse at a hotel in Oklahoma, a Japanese bar that's for people who are thinking about quitting their jobs & apparently the drinks are free, a local wrestler who's in some hot water for a recent gimmick, and a #FloridaMan who got popped for DUI after he was driving his car around while it was on fire.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bestselling author Michael Lewis has spent decades practicing the habits of the sharpest business thinkers: questioning assumptions, navigating past blind spots, and revealing why conventional wisdom so often leads smart people astray. Lewis is the author of a remarkable run of business bestsellers, including Liar's Poker, Moneyball, Flash Boys, The Big Short, Boomerang, The Undoing Project, and Going Infinite. Both Moneyball and The Big Short were made into Oscar Best Picture-nominated films, as was The Blind Side, another of Lewis's non-fiction classics. In this exclusive episode of Monday Morning Radio, Lewis reflects on why true success derives from taking the long view rather than aiming for quick results, and how doing the hard, unglamorous work others avoid can create an outsized, enduring advantage. Lewis's conversation with founding Monday Morning Radio host Dean Rotbart was recorded when the author was honored as a Business News Visionary. While the interview dates back several years, in this abridged version of their talk, the insights Lewis shares are strikingly current — offering inspired ideas that apply to entrepreneurs, executives, and business owners navigating uncertainty, disruption, and change today. [Michael Lewis will be featured in All You Can Eat Business Wisdom: Second Helpings, coming in April 2026. The anthology is the sequel of co-host Maxwell Rotbart's award winning first edition, All You Can Eat Business Wisdom: A Monday Morning Radio Anthology of Actionable Advice.] Monday Morning Radio is hosted by the father-son duo of Dean and Maxwell Rotbart. The Blind Side: Ownership, Propaganda, and the White Savior PlaybookIn this episode of Adoptees Crossing Lines, Zaira and co-host/editor J Way kick off a new film mini-series with one of the most infamous adoption movies of all time: The Blind Side. They revisit this Oscar winning film with fresh eyes, exposing its white savior narrative, racist tropes, and the insidious control adoption often masks as care. Together, they dissect the real life harm caused by this story, and why adoptees need to reclaim the mic.In this episode, we cover:(01:33) Why we had to start the series with The Blind Side (03:26) Savior narratives, selective memory, and how adopters used this film as “family time” (07:17) Hallmark vibes, propaganda beats, and the absurd plot construction (10:08) IQ scores, protectiveness tests, and the racist assumptions they reinforce (14:18) Control vs. care, and how Leigh Anne's character weaponizes both(20:20) Black bodies as tools: protector, athlete, project (23:44) Christianity, purity culture, and domination masked as discipline (30:51) Queer families, carceral systems, and why inclusion isn't liberation(36:24) “Do you have a mother?” and how the film dehumanizes Michael's mom (40:26) Ole Miss, Confederate nostalgia, and performative progress (46:10) Final takeaways: who gets to tell the story—and why it mattersCall To Action:Subscribe to Adoptees Crossing Lines wherever you listen to podcasts. Friends,I recently had the delight of conversing with acclaimed author Michael Lewis (The Big Short, Liar's Poker, Moneyball, Flash Boys, Going Infinite, The Fifth Risk, The Premonition, The Blind Side, The Undoing Project, Boomerang, and, most recently, Who Is Government?). I asked him to join me to discuss our recent books. Our subject was Trump, but our conversation ranged from the political to the personal. It occurred before a live audience and was great fun. I thought this holiday week a perfect occasion to share it with you. My thanks to Michael. Hope you had a happy holiday and have a restful weekend. Oh, and you look great. This is a public episode. Send us a message, so we know what you're thinking!Well, we made it! 100 episodes & still going strong! (Except for a bit of a medical interlude for both of us.) Who'd have thought the views of a pair of opinionated Aussie music fans could have entertained so many for so long? In this episode, we celebrate the artists, music & events we've covered over the last five years. Mick's habit of tapping the table when he gets excited; Jeff's potty-mouth; The origin of the Globite School Bag as a staple of the program. We look at where our listeners live – and how on Earth they find out about us! Revisiting some of your favourite episodes shows how time has proven us right on some of our more strident opinions, such as “Roxy Music peaked in 1973”, and “Warren Zevon is one of the greatest songwriters ever”! To top it all off, the soundtrack for five years of “Mick & The Phatman Talking Music” is awesome. You're going to love it!! See you next year. Daily Soap Opera Spoilers by Soap Dirt (GH, Y&R, B&B, and DOOL)
Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt Young and the Restless spoilers leave viewers on the edge of their seats as Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) escalate their relationship. However, suspicions are rising that Cane may have an ulterior motive. Phyllis, usually known for her cunning and manipulative ways, appears to be falling hard for Cane, unaware that she might be walking into a trap. Y&R spoilers divulge that Cane's intentions are called into question as he appears to be using his relationship with Phyllis as a cover for his real agenda. He is spotted trying to access Phyllis's computer, immediately after their intimate moments, raising doubts about his sincerity towards her. Despite his convincing acts of affection, the underlying tension suggests that Cane might be seeking revenge for Phyllis's betrayal - stealing his AI and handing it over to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Spoilers for Young and Restless hint that Victor, using the stolen AI against Cane's company, Arabesque, adds fuel to Cane's motivation for retribution. Cane's confession to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about his angle against Phyllis hints at his master plan of using Phyllis to retrieve his AI and save his company. This, he hopes, would not only make him a hero in Lily's eyes but also give him a chance to get back at Phyllis. More Y&R spoilers reveal that Cane's ultimate desire is to win back Lily, his long-time love. The question remains, will Cane's plan of revenge against Phyllis and his quest to win Lily back succeed? Or will he become the victim of Phyllis's wrath when she discovers his deceit? This episode was hosted by Belynda Gates-Turner for Soap Dirt. In this episode, Dan Nathan and Guy Adami break down a dramatic week in the markets, spotlighting the volatility surge driven by surprise tariff headlines and shifting macro risks. They dig into the growing dangers of passive investing, the outsized impact of the “Magnificent 7” on everyday portfolios, and why even small CapEx pullbacks in Big Tech could ripple across the market. The hosts also examine gold's frenzy (fueled by retail and historic central bank buying) and debate whether recent sell-offs foreshadow a broader reset, and warn that rising tariffs, weak consumer signals, and struggling IPOs could all spell trouble ahead. —FOLLOW USYouTube: @RiskReversalMediaInstagram: @riskreversalmediaTwitter: @RiskReversalLinkedIn: RiskReversal Media

Prince Andrew was caught off guard when Virginia Roberts (Giuffre) filed her lawsuit in August 2021, accusing him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 under Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking network. The filing in U.S. federal court blindsided Andrew, who had long denied any involvement and believed that distance from Epstein might shield him. Instead, the case forced him into the spotlight with renewed scrutiny, intensifying his public disgrace and sparking demands for accountability at the highest levels. His legal team tried to derail the lawsuit by citing Roberts' 2009 settlement with Epstein, but a judge rejected this strategy, allowing the case to move forward. The mounting pressure was swift and severe: Andrew was stripped of royal titles and patronages, cut off from official duties, and isolated within the monarchy. With a trial looming and the reputational damage mounting, he agreed to a multimillion-dollar settlement in February 2022, underscoring how blindsided he truly was by the lawsuit's sudden and devastating impact.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com
