Air Date: 9/13/2026 Today we trace the two-front war on the American press. On one side, government regulators and members of Congress are going after news outlets for the stories they choose to run. On the other, politically friendly buyers are taking ownership of major networks to turn them into free-market versions of state media. https://elcamarotedelosmarx.blogspot.com.es/ https://t.me/CamaroteMarx Programa de radio de "El Camarote de los Marx" grabado el 13 de septiembre... Shelved after completion in 2023, COYOTE VS. ACME has finally detonated onto big screens everywhere. We have director David Kittredge (whose doc BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL is finally making it to theaters as well!) with us to follow this courtroom-drama-by-way-of-Merrie-Melodies. Phil and David are joined by their brilliantly talented friend Will Forte for an animated conversation about the remarkable fall and rise of "Coyote Vs. Acme," how Phil shared a desk with Chuck Jones, how Will loved working with Bruce Dern in "Nebraska" and how Will and David had a far more stormy experience working with P. Diddy. Go see "Coyote Vs. We'e been taking a little time off at the end of summer, but we'd never abandon you entirely. Here's what we've reviewed lately on Breakfast All Day. COYOTE VS. ACME. Warner Bros. shelved this movie for the tax write-off in July 2023. Now it's in theaters thanks to Ketchup Entertainment, and the fact that it's great is the best revenge. Will Forte, Lana Condor, John Cena and all your favorite Looney Tunes characters star in this hilarious live action/animation hybrid. BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL. If you love movies about making movies -- especially movies that are notorious flops -- you'll enjoy this documentary about John Boorman's "Exorcist II: The Heretic." Alonso has to recuse himself because he's friends with writer-director-editor David Kittredge, but we both agree that this is an impressive and entertaining deep-dive into 1970s Hollywood. In theaters. FAME (1980): WAS IT GREAT OR WERE YOU 8? It's our favorite game to play, where we look back at the movies we loved from childhood to see whether they still hold up today. This time, Christy picked "Fame," the musical sensation about students at New York's performing arts high school striving for stardom. It won two Oscars and spawned a hit album and TV series. But is it still great? We'll find out. Thanks for hanging out with us during this in-between period. All the big fall festival movies are coming, so we hope you'll stick around! After a fraught journey to the big screen at the hands of corporate overlords, Coyote Vs. ACME has finally seen the light of day. Despite the C-suite mishigas the film is proving to be a well-earned success. It's a funny, charming, and uniquely sobering look at the things we buy and use, and the companies we get used by. Rooted as much in the world of Chuck Jones as The Verdict or A Civil Action, the cartoon courtroom antics are built on the bones of a legal thriller, and the resulting observations bear an uncomfortable resemblance to the reality of our relationship with almost every corporation in 2026. To unpack this, I spoke with Joe Galbo, a social media specialist for a U.S. safety regulatory agency. Over the past decade, Galbo has made it his mission to raise awareness of unsafe products in wry and off-beat ways one meme at a time. We discuss the irony of how the film's fraught distribution is reflected in its script, and frankly enhances its message. We also get into how the film captures an ever-present dread in the face of AI and the “enshittification” of just about everything we buy and use. We marvel at how unflinching the film is in delivering these sentiments, and why the Looney Tunes are the perfect vessel to raise awareness. Be sure to follow Joe @josephgalbo.bsky.social, and for any info on unsafe products (or how to report them) visit saferproducts.gov. Coyote Vs. ACME is now in theaters.
The movie Warner Bros. never wanted you to see has hit cinemas, and boy is there a lot to talk about with this one. Our nostalgia season continues with Season 11 of 'AnotherLook' - listen up as Corey's pick for the week (Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation) has the podcasting duo discussing all things cartoons, direct to video sequels, and the Looney Tunes nature of our cinematic history. Look, we're not gonna tease this out: We are not a group of big Blade Runner fans. That doesn't mean we're haters, either! (Okay, one of us ... a little.) But if you're coming expecting neon-lit rapturous feelings, you're not gonna get them in our review of BLADE RUNNER 2049. But perhaps you'll get something much more rare: Three people being actually calm about this franchise!Plus, thoughts on COYOTE VS. ACME, TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA, SHELL, THE DOG STARS, INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER, TONY and more!
COYOTE VS. ACME has crushed the box office, or at least exceeded expectations, so GREG FRANKLIN returns to the podcast that he co-created to talk LOONEY TUNES with Bob for this special "mini" episode, which turns out to be our second longest episode ever. It is the MY DINNER WITH ANDRE of OMFYS episodes. Just two dudes talking, and talking and talking. But hey, Cory always tells Bob that "people like long podcasts," so here we are. In a world of super hero fanboys, Greg is a funny animal guy, and he's an award-winning animator and co-founder of Six Point Harness Studios, so you're getting an expert opinion here. In planning this episode, Greg said, "I can Looney Tunes for hours," and he proves it right here with in-depth analysis of the works of Chuck Jones, Bob Clapmpett, Friz Freling, Carl Stalling and Mel Blanc, just to name a few. Here is a list of the cartoons discussed by Greg and Bob in this epic episode with the Tubi season and episode numbers, so you can find them more easily. Tubi bundles each short into "episodes" consisting of three cartoons, so these might not be the first Looney Tune in each episode, but they're in there... Somewhere. August concludes with a slew of reviews from Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy. Once again they urge you all to go see the movie that Warner Bros. tried to destroy forever (Coyote vs. Acme) and remind you about a couple they saw from Sundance this year (Idiots, Buddy). They also have the tale of a boy trying to find out what those bruises are on his mom (If I Tell You). Rebel Wilson's directorial debut whose behind-the-scenes may be more interesting (The Deb). Three doctors stationed in Gaza want to get the truth out about the conflict with Israel (American Doctor). The Train to Busan director gives us more goopy fast zombies (Colony). Robert DeNiro tries to find his kidnapped grandson (The Whisper Man) and a group of college graduates find themselves in an existential crisis on a very long road (It Ends). The latest from Joe Swanberg has Dakota Fanning choosing between two men and herself and a young guy tries to find the woman who got away (Finding Emily). Finally, Ridley Scott takes us into the apocalypse for some reason (The Dog Stars). 3:44 - Coyote vs. Acme 22:58 - Idiots 30:44 – Buddy 35:35 - Ad Break 37:35 - If I Tell You 44:21 - The Deb 53:16 - American Doctor 1:07:51 – Ad Break 1:09:51 - Colony 1:21:55 - The Whisper Man 1:34:54 - It Ends 1:45:00 – Ad Break 1:47:00 - The Sun Never Sets 2:00:21 - Finding Emily 2:19:12 - The Dog Stars 2:38:50 – Preview of Next Week CLICK ON THE FILMS TO RENT OR PURCHASE AND HELP OUT THE MOVIE MADNESS PODCAST OR BUY FROM MOVIEZYNG Be sure to check out Erik's Weekly Box Office Column – At Rotten Tomatoes Critics' Classics Series – At Elk Grove Cinema in Elk Grove Village, IL Chicago Screening Schedule - All the films coming to theaters and streaming Physical Media Schedule - Click & Buy upcoming titles for your library. On this episode of The Movie Podcast, Daniel and Shahbaz are joined by returning friend of the show Will Forte and Lana Condor to discuss the eagerly anticipated COYOTE VS. ACME. Following their conversation, Academy Award-winning composer Steven Price joins us to discuss his score for the film, including how a last-minute inspiration led him to the London Voices choir to record a new rendition of the 1812 Overture at Abbey Road, complete with Road Runner-inspired “meep meeps”! After decades of being blown to bits by bombs, demolished by dynamite, mangled by magnets, battered by boulders, trampled by trains, tricked by tunnels, sprung by springs, steamrolled by steamrollers, maligned by misfires, bedeviled by bungees, rattled by rockets, backstabbed by bat suits, rocked by rocket skates, upended by unicycles, quaked by quake pills, rubberized by rogue bands, and hurled headlong off every cliff in the Southwest, Wile E. Coyote (Genius) finally fights back. Teaming up with billboard accident lawyer Kevin Avery (Will Forte), he takes on slick corporate counsel Buddy Crane (John Cena) and ACME, Inc., the profit-obsessed conglomerate behind every one of the Coyote's chaotic catastrophes. Coyote vs. Acme finally releases into theatres August 28, 2026. Watch and listen to The Movie Podcast now on all podcast platforms, YouTube, and TheMoviePodcast.ca.
