Disney almost had a Legend of Sleepy Hollow ride, in not one, but TWO different parks. In this episode of Distory with Kate & Kirk, we unearth some rare concepts for an Ichabod Crane-themed attraction by Imagineering—ideas that, much to our chagrin, never saw the light of day. We begin with a brief tour through the history of the Sleepy Hollow portion of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, highlighting some incredible concept art by Mary Blair. From there, we head over to Walt Disney World to investigate what happened to Ichabod in both Fantasyland and Liberty Square. Victoria Goodwin, wife of Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin, has been arrested for allegedly conspiring to hire someone to kill her husband. The couple was married at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion in August 2022, but three years later, Victoria, 32, reportedly plotted to have Aaron, 48, murdered. According to an arrest report, Victoria Goodwin communicated with an inmate in Florida in October 2024. The inmate allegedly served as an intermediary between Victoria and another individual who was expected to carry out the killing. Police say Victoria had saved $11,515 to fund the murder and, at one point, sent a text message asking, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.” Investigators further allege that Victoria provided the filming schedule for Ghost Adventures to help plan the attack. The plot began to unravel when Florida corrections officers discovered a contraband phone and uncovered the incriminating messages. Court documents show one text message from the inmate to his outside contact, apparently referring to Aaron Goodwin, read: “He's asleep right now in the hotel room … I need to know what's going on. Can I get an update. Was it done?” When confronted with the evidence, Victoria denied wanting her husband killed. She claimed she didn't remember sending the messages and said the money she wired to the inmate was intended for purchasing cellphones. She did admit to fantasizing about being without her husband, citing marital problems. Aaron Goodwin, who is part of the paranormal investigation team on the Discovery+ series Ghost Adventures, said he was “blindsided and devastated” by the alleged murder-for-hire scheme. Victoria Goodwin has been charged with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. News: This weekend at South by Southwest, Disney had a panel called “The Future of World-Building at Disney” which gave us a ton of information about upcoming theme park attractions. One of these was the updated experience coming next year to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. The new adventure will feature the Mandalorian and Grogu, better known as “the child” from the hit Disney+ series. This new experience will take guests to new locations for the attraction, like Cloud City, Tatooine, and the Death Star wreckage. The attraction will have guests in “gyro-kinetic pods” that will roll on a track before being attached to a giant robotic arm and taken through some high-speed maneuvers. Updates to the previous information include a ew theme song called “Celebrate Happy.” The new “World of Color Happiness!” will explore “happy” through other emotions, hosted by Joy and other emotions from Inside Out and Inside Out 2. In addition to Paint the Night, which will perform in the evening, “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade” will appear along the parade route during the day. News: With the upcoming 70th anniversary at Disneyland coming up fast, there has been some work to get the parks in tip-top shape. Last week, Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge had the cannons fixed! This effect has not been working for the last year or more. Rumor online is that it was a programming issue that over the course of the day the movement got out of sync and caused the attraction to stop working. Over in Disney California Adventure, Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street is behind scrim and scaffold, the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land is still working on the updates to the main office. The new seating area nearby has also partially gone back behind walls to add what looks like a shade covering to the spot. The Little Mermaid is still open, but getting an extended standby queue. The Disneyland Monorail and Disneyland Railroad are closed until early March to work on new entrance gates for the Downtown Disney station of the Monorail, and the rest of the track replacement for the Disneyland Railroad. The heavy rain flowed down the walkway to Bayou Country and right into the front door of the shop. Tee times are every 30 minutes, with with discounts for hotel guests and Magic Keyholders. Prices range from $28-$33, plus a $2 per person service fee. The biscuits are made with sharp cheddar and cajun cheese, and are brushed with garlic butter. The sauce is not overly spicy and adds a sharper cheese flavor.
