The episode offers listeners an insightful discussion on how 21st-century life has impacted human health, with an emphasis on the toxins that permeate our daily lives—from the air we breathe to the products we use. The conversation delves into the intricate relationship between toxins and various health issues. Both intentional and subliminal exposure, from microplastics to chemical additives in common household products, is examined. Helen details the importance of mitigating these risks in improving energy levels, sleep quality, and overall wellness. She highlights the body's miraculous albeit overwhelmed detoxification pathways, such as the liver and skin, which have become inadequate under the modern toxic load. Through advanced testing for toxins and heavy metals, Helen provides a blueprint for a healthier life, showcasing how understanding and reducing these exposures can drastically improve common health complaints like chronic fatigue and sleep disturbances. Key Takeaways: Detoxification Emphasis: Helen underscores the necessity of detoxification against inevitable modern-day toxins found in everyday surroundings, impacting everything from hormonal health to general well-being. Role of Mitochondria: The mitochondria's role as cellular powerhouses is critical; dysfunction can lead to chronic issues like fatigue and is often overlooked by conventional medicine. Impact of Toxins on Health: The episode highlights how exposure to environmental toxins like heavy metals, mold, and phthalates can lead to chronic illnesses and disrupted cellular function. Critique of Conventional Medicine: Helen points out that many medical practitioners treat symptoms rather than the root causes, often resulting in a cascade of medication prescribing. Importance of Gut Health: Recognizing the gut as the 'second brain,' Helen describes its profound influence on health and the need for vigilant dietary choices to avoid processed foods. Notable Quotes: "Our bodies have never had an upgrade, remember? We are still 1.0." – Helen Taylor "It's like you gotta buy a new phone. So basically Apple's telling me to get a new body." – Chris Voss "This is where the chronic fatigue and detoxification issues start appearing; the liver won't work properly." – Helen Taylor "Read the ingredients. If you can't pronounce the word, how does your body know what to do with it?" – Helen Taylor "If you're able to go outside and use the sunlight in the morning, that will really help." – Helen Taylor

Jamie Waller is dyslexic and a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, and investor. Growing up in London's East End, teachers told Jamie he wouldn't amount to anything. However, he benefited from the supportive efforts of the Imps Motorcycle Display Team and the Prince's Trust. Despite leaving school with no qualifications he started multiple businesses, became a multimillionaire in his twenties and featured in a prime-time TV show that followed him starting his first business. Currently, Jamie owns a venture capital fund, has thirteen companies under management and employs over 1,000 people worldwide. He is the Founder of The Prince's Trust Enterprise Network, an organisation committed to empowering less advantaged youth as established by his Majesty the King of England. Jamie is the author of Unsexy Business (2017) and The Dyslexic Edge (5th July 2024), the idea for which came from a conversation with one of the most famous dyslexics on earth, Sir Richard Branson during a cycle ride in early 2022. The Dyslexic Edge challenges the narrative that views dyslexia as a deficit or impediment to success, presenting compelling research and case studies from interviewing some of the worlds most successful dyslexics (Paul Orfelia, Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne and Kelly Hoppen to name a few), to demonstrate quite the opposite. By delving into the lives and experiences of some of the best-known dyslexic minds worldwide, Jamie and Dr Helen Taylor highlight the distinct advantage that dyslexic thinking brings. In 2018, Cranfield University awarded Jamie Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2023 he accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III and The Prince's Trust at the Business Champion Awards. When he's not at work, Jamie can be found embracing some of the world's most exciting adventures. This year he's taking part in the United Arab Emirates desert challenge, in 2025 he will compete in Africa Eco Race and in 2026 is going into Space with Branson's team at Virgin Galactic. 35% of entrepreneurs have dyslexia. Up to 50% of people in prison have dyslexia. It's clear that, for people with Dyslexia, the path between success and ending up on the wrong side of the law can be narrow. So what's different between these groups of people and what's the thing that sets them head on the right path? For entrepreneur, philanthropist, and author, Jamie Waller, it all comes down to the support from people in your early years of your life. Jamie is a serial entrepreneur and the author of the book ‘The Dyslexic Edge'.Growing up in the west end of London, Jamie's teachers had written him off from the start and didn't give him the support he needed at school. If it hadn't been as a result of a motorcycle display team and a supportive mother, Jamie believes he could have ended up in the wrong group of dyslexic people, being let down by society and living a life in prison.Having been given the chance to join the Imps Motorcycle Display team with help from a supportive mum, Jamie turned his back on education and followed a life into entrepreneurship. Despite leaving school with no qualifications he started multiple businesses, became a multimillionaire in his twenties and featured in a prime-time TV show that followed him starting his first business. The idea for the book ‘The Dyslexic Edge' came from a conversation with one of the most famous dyslexics on earth, Sir Richard Branson during a cycle ride in early 2022. This interview introduces Helen Taylor who has a master's degree in Genomic and Regenerative Medicine in Biomedical Science. Helen made the switch to carnivore lifestyle in February 2024. She talks about how a hysterectomy led her to learn more about diet and nutrition and how epigenetics plays a role in our health. Helen states that our bodies are like a library, remembering everything we put it through. Helen recalls her personal experience with veganism and how it led her to question her health and that lead to studying epigenetics, which can predict disease and trauma. Transitioning to Carnivore improved Helen's overall health, cleared her brain, calmed her down, reduced pain and inflammation, and helped her be more energetic and live in the present. She admits that it took a while for the results to show, but now she feels like she's been given a new life! Helen is a biomedical scientist who specializes in cellular and molecular immunology. She shares how her interest in immune disorders, including thyroid issues and hormone imbalances, led her to focus on personalized medicine. She explains epigenetics and how it can help identify the root causes of health issues, and the importance of addressing environmental toxins, such as glyphosate, in our diet. She also discusses her own journey with a hysterectomy and how it affected her hormones, and how she loves carnivore for its simplicity and effectiveness.

What's it like to uproot your whole life for God? Hannah and Brian are joined by Andy and Helen Taylor, who lead 24-7 Prayer Peru. Andy and Helen talk about what led them to give up their lives in Britain and move their family to Cusco, Peru, following God's call. They discuss the tension in ministering cross-culturally – how do you lead and serve without over-asserting your own culture? Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire, once considered the centre of the world; Helen and Andy discuss the legacy of Incan spirituality in Peru and explain how 24-7 Prayer Rooms have played a crucial role in revealing the loving heart of God to people. They describe how God has been pouring out His presence, bringing unity among churches and miraculous healing to those who need it. Is an awakening stirring in Peru? Join us as we discuss Little Pilgrim on his arduous trip to the Celestial City. Will he be able to navigate through the many dangers that thwart his forward progress? This beautifully illustrated allegory was derived from John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress, but Helen L. Taylor's use of anthropomorphism makes Bunyan's amazing story easily understood by children. Animals that are characters make the book not only interesting to kids but also add a degree of emotional distance for young readers, which can be important with a message as personal and powerful as this one. Christian is a young rabbit living in a city called Destruction. After losing his mother, finding an old Book, and hearing the Evangelist, Christian wants to make his way to the Celestial City where a wise King rules that loves little creatures. He asks his friends to make the journey with him, they all laugh at him except his friend Christiana. She's unable to go because she's caring for younger siblings so Christian bravely decides to embark on the journey all by himself. He feels his heavy burdens slowing him down but he plods forward, meeting: Simple, Sloth, Presumption, Passion, Patience, Hypocrisy, Mistrust, Faithful, Hopeful and a host of others. Some seek to stop him, while some help and encourage him. “Knock and it shall be opened unto you.” What doors do you want to open in this life? Follow Christian to discover how to wisely navigate the worldly dangers as Helen Taylor along with Joe Sutphin's amazing illustrations take readers on this unforgettable journey! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/recapbookchat/message

This episode delves into Benjamin Nolot's brand new book, Raised on Porn, available Thursday, April 13.This book was ten years in the making. Benjamin Nolot spent the last 16 years of his life investigating and documenting the global sex trade, trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, and the sexually destructive behavior that pervades our culture. In each of these, he discovered pornography to be a common thread. Raised on Porn is a carefully reasoned and thoroughly documented look at how porn has infiltrated modern life, why it matters, and how we can respond. The book goes much deeper than how porn affects those who are addicted. It unpacks how porn has poisoned the way we as humans relate to one another, and how that has been embedded into the fabric of our culture.Based on interviews with porn producers, directors, performers, neuroscientists, and mental health professionals, Raised on Porn lays out the porn problem in concrete detail while also offering practical solutions for those who are struggling with porn, and those who have a loved one who is struggling.Grab a copy of Raised on Porn here: https://www.amazon.com/Raised-Porn-Affecting-Lives-about/dp/B0BYLSK5Y5/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1RIPPVOWD8IGU&keywords=raised+on+porn+book&qid=1681236401&sprefix=raised+on+porn+book%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-2 LINKS: Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/m6Zd97bWoDo Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7h6K1rUqBviPAcEXPWg4Sh Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-exodus-cry-podcast/id1171898654?uo=4 Watch our films: www.exoduscry.com/watch Give & fuel the fight: www.exoduscry.com/donate Get involved: www.exoduscry.com/getinvolved Website: www.exoduscry.com Podcast: www.exoduscry.com/podcast Articles: www.exoduscry.com/articles SOCIALS:Youtube: www.youtube.com/exoduscry Instagram: www.instagram.com/exoduscry TikTok: www.tiktok.com/exoduscry Twitter: www.twitter.com/exoduscry Facebook: www.facebook.com/exoduscry Exodus Cry is a leading global anti-trafficking nonprofit organization focused on ending widespread sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, exposing this injustice for millions worldwide, and helping its victims to rebuild their lives.

Netflix's new documentary Money Shot: The Pornhub Story is currently trending. It highlights the work of anti-exploitation advocates, including Exodus Cry. This film certainly tells a story, just not the one you'd expect if you'd been following the case against Pornhub that's been unfolding very publicly over the past three years. This week's episode is Exodus Cry's honest response to the film, what we liked, and the vital voices the documentary missed. Helen Taylor and Benjamin Nolot unpack aspects of the film and help to contextualize it to an audience that hasn't been following along with the #Traffickinghub campaign to shut down Pornhub for distributing porn that features exploitation victims. In part 2 of this 3-part podcast, Benjamin Nolot and Helen Taylor discuss Exodus Cry's new porn industry exposé miniseries, Beyond Fantasy, specifically talking about the "teen" genre of porn featured in the first episode of the series, "Barely Legal." In "Barely Legal" porn industry insiders reveal how producers cast aside ethical boundaries to create content which promotes the fantasy of sex with children. Among porn's most popular categories is the teen genre, which often depicts underage girls. Amid pigtails, playgrounds, and teddy bears, grown men act out sexual fantasies with performers who are at least 18 in real life, but who are made to look and act like children. In the episode, Helen and Benji talk about the urgent need for people to take action around this disturbing genre of pornography. In part 1 of this 3-part podcast, hear from Benjamin Nolot and Helen Taylor as they unpack Exodus Cry's new porn industry exposé miniseries, Beyond Fantasy. The porn industry creates endless images and videos that are consumed by billions worldwide, yet surprisingly little is known about how this culture-shaping content is made — or at what cost. Beyond Fantasy is a documentary miniseries that takes viewers straight into the belly of the beast and brings them face to face with some of the biggest porn producers and performers as they describe, in their own words, an industry that profits from ethical violation, coercion, and abuse. In the episode, Helen asks Benjamin, the series' director and producer, how and why the films were made, the personal cost of creating them, and why it has been dubbed Exodus Cry's most intense film project ever. Benjamin Nolot is the CEO and Founder of Exodus Cry and Helen Taylor is the Vice President of Impact at Exodus Cry. Benjamin Nolot and Helen Taylor give the inside scoop about the trials and successes of the global #Traffickinghub campaign that held Pornhub and its executives accountable for distributing and profiting from criminal image-based sexual abuse, including videos of rape, child abuse, and sex trafficking. In early 2020, after one of Exodus Cry's directors published "Time to Shut Pornhub Down" in the Washington Examiner, a grassroots movement exploded, demanding the "world's biggest porn site" be shut down and held accountable. The petition amassed over two million signers from 192 countries, Exodus Cry's animated video on it went viral with 34 million views, and, after the New York Times featured the story on their front page, Pornhub was faced with an atomic PR situation. Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and other major brands cut ties with Pornhub, the site deleted 80% of their content—about 10 million videos—overnight, and they were hit with lawsuits from victims totaling over $1 billion. Pornhub's CEO and COO have recently stepped down and the brand has been kicked off Roku, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Today's daf is sponsored by Tova and David Kestenbaum in honor of the marriage of their son Gilad to Noa Goldrich, today. "May they be zoche to build a Bayit Neeman B'yisrael, in good health until 120." Today's daf is sponsored by Emma Rinberg in loving memory of her dear friend Helen Taylor whose yahrzeit is today and in honor of her dear friend Tova Kestenbaum whose son is getting married today. If one says, "My loaf is forbidden to you," and then gave it to them as a gift, Rava held that it was still forbidden to them. The Gemara brings a braita to raise a difficulty against Rava as it says there that if it was given to them as a gift, it is permitted. However they resolve the difficulty by explaining the braita to be in a case where first it was given to someone else and then that person gave it to the other as a gift. In that case, since it didn't belong to the original person at the time the gift was given, it was no longer included in the words of the vow. Rava asks Rav Nachman if the language of konam creates a situation that the item is like a sanctified item for the one forbidden and therefore if one accidentally benefits, would they be liable for meila? Rav Nachman proves from our Mishna that the answer is yes. However, the Gemara points out that it is a tannaitic debate. According to the understanding that there is meila for a konam, if one says, "My loaf will be forbidden to you," and then gives it to them as a gift, upon who is the meila transgression? For the original owner, it was not forbidden and the one receiving the gift could claim that they certainly wouldn't have wanted to receive the gift if they had known it was forbidden! Rav Ashi answers that while the receiver can claim they didn't want it if that would only exclude them from laws of meila while receiving the gift but once they actually use it, they are no different from a person who didn't know an item was sanctified and used it, who is liable for meila. The Mishna lists more actions one can do for another even if they are forbidden to benefit from the other - take truma and maaser for them with their knowledge, sacrifice bird offerings of zav, zava and a woman after childbirth, teach one midrash, halacha and agada, but not Torah, or teach their children Torah. The Gemara asks if when kohanim perform the sacrificial rites in the Temple are they operating as messengers of the one obligated to bring the sacrifice or as messengers of God? Can our Mishna be used to answer this question?

Today we're talking to Helen Taylor from Exodus Cry about what's going on in the world of trafficking. It's good news that awareness is spreading, but one piece of the puzzle that has slipped under the radar for too long is pornography. (You might remember all the #traffickinghub news that's come out in the last few years.) So today we're talking about what's going on behind the scenes in the porn industry, prostitution, and policy. I hope this episode not only wakes us up and calls us to action, but reminds us that God is still on the move and equipping us to play a role in abolishing modern day slavery and standing in the gap for vulnerable men, women, and children all over the world. Like many associations, the Public Affairs Council used to give new members everything at once. A big onboarding meeting, an emailed packet of information, a list of benefits – this process took a lot of time for the membership team. So they got together with Helen Taylor, digital marketing manager at the Public Affairs Council and today's podcast guest, to create a new process: a series of emails to onboard new members, each with a video from a different staff member introducing a benefit. And it's working! They're saving time and doubling email engagement. Join us on the episode to learn more.
Bitdefender reports that children under 10 now account for 10 percent of traffic on porn sites, that could mean 4.2 billion visits from kids who haven't yet hit fifth grade. Everyday, children are stumbling upon horrific portrayals of gang rape, sodomy, and violent dehumanization depicted in pornography. Which is why Exodus Cry - the same anti-trafficking org whose campaign #Traffickinghub reached millions to bring Canadian tech company Mindgeek to account for its perpetuation of nonconsensual and underage porn - is now calling for legislation requiring a credible age-verification mechanism on all porn-hosting websites.
