Today's episode is a little different—it's just me, revisiting the Tilt Manifesto I wrote back in 2015 as part of my development of Tilt Parenting. In this solocast, I share the context in which that manifesto was born, what was happening in my own life as a parent of a neurodivergent child at the time, and why there felt like such an urgent need to challenge the dominant parenting narratives around compliance, productivity, and “normal.” This is a look back — and a look forward — rooted in gratitude, curiosity, and hope. This week's Book Club podcast deals with attention: what it is, why it is in crisis, how it came to be the biggest business in the world, and how we can resist the tech juggernaut that is destroying it. I am joined by two co-authors of the new book Attensity!: A Manifesto of the Attention Liberation Movement. They tell me why the ‘attention economy' would be better termed ‘human fracking', and how the problem is so much more than can be solved by a new year's resolution or more restrictions on screen time.Become a Spectator subscriber today to access this podcast without adverts. “You are correct: something is seriously wrong.” So begins Attensity: A Manifesto of the Attention Liberation Movement (Crown, 2026) written by members of the friends of attention collective. That something is that our attention, and it is being captured and commodified by corporate entities that see our attention as a precious resource, perhaps as fundamental as water, that can be mined and extracted. This new process of extraction, called human fracking by the collective, is not simply a timewaster, with every minute introducing another tiktok video to scroll through. Rather our attention should be understood as a fundamental aspect of what makes us human, and expression of our humanity and of our love and attention to others. Faced with the daily loss of more and more of our shared humanity, the Friends of Attention are appealing for an awakening, a collective reclamation of our attention from the frackers. Attensity is a clarion call that sees collective solidarity as the means by which we can be a bulwark against those who would pilfer our attention. Attensity argues that a practice of study, coalition building, and a relationship to attention sanctuaries, can be the answer to one of the great fundamental questions of our era: why do we feel so disconnected from our own humanity and from the humanity of others. D. Graham Burnett is the Henry Charles Lea Professor of the History of Science at Princeton University. What happens when hope doesn't save you — but reveals the truth? In this deeply personal manifesto episode, Dr. Connie Cheung shares how kidney failure, repeated near-transplants, and life on dialysis dismantled a false identity built on performance, resilience, and survival — and returned her to herself. This is not a story of toxic positivity or glossy healing. It's a meditation on paradox: ✨ gratitude and grief ✨ hope and fear ✨ control and surrender ✨ survival and freedom Drawing from lived experience as a patient, clinician, and founder of EASE OS™, this episode explores why healing is not linear, why fixing yourself often perpetuates suffering, and why true wholeness comes from integration — not answers. You'll hear reflections on: ✔️ Why chronic illness often initiates identity collapse ✔️ The hidden cost of resilience and "being brave" ✔️ Fragmentation in modern healthcare and why integration matters Carl Jung's idea of individuation, lived — not theorized Why many people are living in lives that don't fit — and how to reorient without abandoning yourself This episode is for anyone who feels tired of trying to get it right, tired of fixing, tired of forcing certainty — and ready to live with presence instead. IS STARMER TRYING TO TURN UK INTO NORTH KOREA?  #KeirStarmer #UKPolitics #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #FreeSpeech #DigitalID #TwoTierPolicing #BBCBias #CivilLiberties #StateOverreach #UKDemocracy #LiveDebate #OFCOM  Today's show is driven by today's news. On the same day this stream goes live, Keir Starmer has asked Ofcom to investigate X over responses generated by its AI system Grok.  A sitting Prime Minister encouraging a state regulator to step in over images produced by an AI should alarm anyone who believes in free expression. This is not a literal comparison. The reference to North Korea is political hyperbole — a long-established way of warning about authoritarian direction, not dictatorship. Tonight's live show asks a simple but serious question: when governments start leaning on regulators to police speech they dislike, where does that road lead?  WHAT WE'RE COVERING  This broadcast examines a wider pattern — not one decision in isolation. Topics include: Digital ID and the expansion of state oversight  Free speech, censorship, and government pressure on platforms Two-tier policing of protests and public disorder The Southport riots and the Lucy Connolly case Selective enforcement of the law and narrative protection BBC bias and the absence of real accountability (BBC) Birmingham policing controversies and institutional double standards Cultural inconsistency and political taboos The collapse of the Red Wall and voter alienation Tolerance of the intolerant — and intolerance of dissent Weak or delayed action on Iran Disregard for Parliament and democratic scrutiny Media-friendly videos versus genuine accountability The Laura Kuenssberg interview and soft questioning Early prisoner releases and justice priorities Government acting as parent — from breakfast clubs to behaviour control Immigration narratives and the Dover crossings "bogeyman" Moves toward rejoining the European Union without a clear mandate Demonisation of opposition voters Constant attacks on Nigel Farage and Reform UK as "racist" instead of being debated Grandstanding on the world stage while trust collapses at home Leadership surrounded by compliance rather than challenge Manifesto contradictions and broken promises Growing concern over elections, democratic norms, and consent WHY THIS MATTERS This is not Left vs Right. It is power vs accountability. If asking questions is treated as extremism, if speech is managed by regulators, if policing and justice depend on who you are or what you believe, then the issue isn't the language used to criticise it — it's the direction the country is being taken.

In this first message, "The Beatitudes: A Kingdom Manifesto" (Matthew 5:1-12), we explore Jesus' upside-down blessings that shatter worldly expectations and call us to humble dependence on Christ. In a culture obsessed with self-sufficiency and success, Jesus declares true blessing for the spiritually bankrupt, the mourning, the meek, and more—marks of kingdom citizens transformed by grace. Drawing from the grand biblical story—from Adam's fall to Christ's cross—we see how these Beatitudes confront our illusions, build prophetic urgency, and demand a verdict: Will you surrender your brokenness to the King, or cling to pride?

Welcome to a brand new year on the Beautifully Broken Podcast. In this solo episode, I'm reflecting on what mattered most in 2025 and what I'm bringing into 2026 with intention and clarity. I talk about the frustrations I've felt with the wellness world's obsession with quick-fix marketing, and how that led me back to the basics: digestion, cellular health, nervous system regulation, and real human connection. You'll hear the most impactful changes I made, like dialing back my supplements, leaning into bioavailable fats, ditching Amazon for Fullscript, and embracing "the year of the gases" with nanobubbled oxygen and Brown's gas. I share how I built a community around healing, hosted my first wellness event, and finally brought the Biological Blueprint Academy to life. This is a behind-the-scenes look at the principles that grounded me and the practices that restored me. And yes, it's all rooted in love, curiosity, and cellular integrity.  Episode Highlights[00:00] – Kicking off 2026 and calling out the marketing noise in the wellness world[02:00] – Simplifying supplements: how lab work shaped a leaner, smarter stack[03:50] – Fullscript vs Amazon: why sourcing and quality control matter[05:30] – Mago7, digestion, and the real-life wins that come from getting “regular”[06:45] – The year of gases: hydrogen, Brown's gas, oxygen baths, and what really helped my sleep[10:12] – Building therapies into daily life without stealing time[12:35] – CO₂ tolerance and breathing into cognitive clarity[14:00] – Beam Minerals and foundational mineral support[15:25] – Living the work: grounding, breathwork, cold exposure, red light, and temperature as medicine[17:51] – Genetics, mold sensitivity, and why foundational awareness is so powerful[20:14] – South Austin Wellness Project: hosting my first healing community event[22:36] – Access, advocacy, and why sharing healing tools is a mission, not a market[24:55] – New website, Substack migration, and podcast episode mini-pages[26:00] – A manifesto for 2026: depth over drip, principles over protocols[27:11] – The podcast as discovery: why this journey means everything to me Links & ResourcesSilver Biotics: bit.ly/3JnxyDD— 30% off with Code: BEAUTIFULLYBROKENCathcBio https://www.catchbio.com/beautifullybroken— Code: beautifullybrokenStemRegn: https://www.stemregen.co/products/release?_ef_transaction_id=&affid=52&oid=1Beam Minerals: http://beamminerals.com/beautifullybroken— Code: BEAUTIFULLYBROKEN CONNECT WITH FREDDIEWork with Me: https://www.beautifullybroken.world/biological-blueprintWebsite and Store: (http://www.beautifullybroken.world) Instagram: (https://www.instagram.com/beautifullybroken.world/) YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@freddiekimmel Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Originally aired in October 2023, this episode centers on Marc Andreessen's essay The Techno-Optimist Manifesto, which lays out his vision for the future of technology. The piece sparked widespread discussion across traditional and social media by challenging the prevailing pessimistic narrative around technology and arguing instead that it can be a force for growth, progress, and abundance. In this one-on-one conversation, based on listener questions from X (formerly Twitter), a16z cofounder Ben Horowitz and Marc discuss how technological advances can improve quality of life, support marginalized communities, and shape how we think about humanity's long-term future.Read the full manifesto: https://a16z.com/the-techno-optimist-manifesto/ Resources:Follow Marc Andreessen on X: https://x.com/pmarcaFollow Ben Horowitz on X: https://x.com/bhorowitz Stay Updated:If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to like, subscribe, and share with your friends!Find a16z on X: https://twitter.com/a16zFind a16z on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/a16zListen to the a16z Podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5bC65RDvs3oxnLyqqvkUYXListen to the a16z Podcast on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a16z-podcast/id842818711Please note that the content here is for informational purposes only; should NOT be taken as legal, business, tax, or investment advice or be used to evaluate any investment or security; and is not directed at any investors or potential investors in any a16z fund. a16z and its affiliates may maintain investments in the companies discussed. Note: Steve and Gene's talk on Vibe Coding and the post IDE world was one of the top talks of AIE CODE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Dtu2bilcFs&t=1019s&pp=0gcJCU0KAYcqIYzv From building legendary platforms at Google and Amazon to authoring one of the most influential essays on AI-powered development (Revenge of the Junior Developer, quoted by Dario Amodei himself), Steve Yegge has spent decades at the frontier of software engineering—and now he's leading the charge into what he calls the "factory farming" era of code. After stints at SourceGraph and building Beads (a purely vibe-coded issue tracker with tens of thousands of users), Steve co-authored The Vibe Coding Book and is now building VC (VibeCoder), an agent orchestration dashboard designed to move developers from writing code to managing fleets of AI agents that coordinate, parallelize, and ship features while you sleep. We sat down with Steve at AI Engineer Summit to dig into why Claude Code, Cursor, and the entire 2024 stack are already obsolete, what it actually takes to trust an agent after 2,000 hours of practice (hint: they will delete your production database if you anthropomorphize them), why the real skill is no longer writing code but orchestrating agents like a NASCAR pit crew, how merging has become the new wall that every 10x-productive team is hitting (and why one company's solution is literally "one engineer per repo"), the rise of multi-agent workflows where agents reserve files, message each other via MCP, and coordinate like a little village, why Steve believes if you're still using an IDE to write code by January 1st, you're a bad engineer, how the 12–15 year experience bracket is the most resistant demographic (and why their identity is tied to obsolete workflows), the hidden chaos inside OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google as they scale at breakneck speed, why rewriting from scratch is now faster than refactoring for a growing class of codebases, and his 2025 prediction: we're moving from subsistence agriculture to John Deere-scale factory farming of code, and the Luddite backlash is only just beginning. We discuss: Why Claude Code, Cursor, and agentic coding tools are already last year's tech—and what comes next: agent orchestration dashboards where you manage fleets, not write lines The 2,000-hour rule: why it takes a full year of daily use before you can predict what an LLM will do, and why trust = predictability, not capability Steve's hot take: if you're still using an IDE to develop code by January 1st, 2025, you're a bad engineer—because the abstraction layer has moved from models to full-stack agents The demographic most resistant to vibe coding: 12–15 years of experience, senior engineers whose identity is tied to the way they work today, and why they're about to become the interns Why anthropomorphizing LLMs is the biggest mistake: the "hot hand" fallacy, agent amnesia, and how Steve's agent once locked him out of prod by changing his password to "fix" a problem Should kids learn to code? Steve's take: learn to vibe code—understand functions, classes, architecture, and capabilities in a language-neutral way, but skip the syntax The 2025 vision: "factory farming of code" where orchestrators run Cloud Code, scrub output, plan-implement-review-test in loops, and unlock programming for non-programmers at scale — Steve Yegge X: https://x.com/steve_yegge Substack (Stevie's Tech Talks): https://steve-yegge.medium.com/ GitHub (VC / VibeCoder): https://github.com/yegge-labs Where to find Latent Space X: https://x.com/latentspacepod Substack: https://www.latent.space/ Chapters 00:00:00 Introduction: Steve Yegge on Vibe Coding and AI Engineering 00:00:59 The Backlash: Who Resists Vibe Coding and Why 00:04:26 The 2000 Hour Rule: Building Trust with AI Coding Tools 00:03:31 The January 1st Deadline: IDEs Are Becoming Obsolete 00:02:55 10X Productivity at OpenAI: The Performance Review Problem 00:07:49 The Hot Hand Fallacy: When AI Agents Betray Your Trust 00:11:12 Claude Code Isn't It: The Need for Agent Orchestration 00:15:20 The Orchestrator Revolution: From Cloud Code to Agent Villages 00:18:46 The Merge Wall: The Biggest Unsolved Problem in AI Coding 00:26:33 Never Rewrite Your Code - Until Now: Joel Spolsky Was Wrong 00:22:43 Factory Farming Code: The John Deere Era of Software 00:29:27 Google's Gemini Turnaround and the AI Lab Chaos 00:33:20 Should Your Kids Learn to Code? In this episode of the Commune Podcast, Jeff sits down with Camilla Fayed and Aurora Solá, co-authors of A Manifesto for the Future of Food, to explore how our food system became disconnected from soil, ecology, and human health — and what it will take to restore it. Together, they offer a clear and grounded look at the rise of industrial agriculture, the consequences of extractive farming, and why the health of our soil is inseparable from the health of our bodies. Camilla and Aurora walk through the origins and principles of regenerative agriculture, explaining how practices rooted in biodiversity, soil restoration, and ecological balance can rebuild resilience in both ecosystems and communities. Rather than framing the issue through blame or fear, they focus on practical pathways forward — from supporting local farmers to rethinking how we relate to food altogether. This conversation is an invitation to see food not just as fuel, but as a relationship — one that shapes our health, our environment, and our collective future.
