Okay, we get it - these episodes are getting a bit on the long side. That said, Melrose Place is adding layers of depth and content and sudsy trashy soap. This week alone, we find out that Megan Lewis has a magical blouse that reveals all Michael needs to know. Kimberly is dangerously sick. Mary has yet to put together the connection between those two things.Sydney continues to scamp about, while falling in love with Kyle and treating us to a wonderful season where a naked man runs out of her apartment. Peter and Amanda continue to bounce back and forth between fighting, bickering, staring longingly at the phone, and making up. Just in time for Taylor to reveal that she is actually Peter's former sister-in-law.Matt is going to hook up with his therapist so that's fun. Unrelated, Teege is going to start the arduous task of becoming a therapist.

Fox's Melrose Place was intended to be an introspective drama about young adult life in 1990s L.A. But by Season 2, the show leaned into its soapy elements, with ever-shifting love triangles, backstabbing office rivalries, and more than a few iconic villains stealing babies, faking pregnancies, and even blowing up the apartment complex. At its height, the show reached nearly 15 million viewers, and its young and restless stars were EVERYWHERE. The show ended on a whimper in 1999, and had a mediocre CW revival in 2009. But for this Patreon-sponsored episode, we're going to back Melrose, as the Great Pop Culture Debate seeks to determine the Best Melrose Place Character. Characters discussed: Sydney Andrews, Lexi Sterling, Jane Mancini, Jo Reynolds, Dr. Michael Mancini, Billy Campbell, Megan Lewis, Taylor McBride, Amanda Woodward, Jennifer Mancini, Brooke Armstrong, Jake Taylor, Dr. Kimberly Shaw, Dr. Peter Burns, Matt Fielding, Alison Parker. Join host Eric Rezsnyak, Patreon sponsor Bob Erlenback, and Special Guest Stars Courtney Fay and Todd Rezsnyak as they discuss 16 of the most notorious residents of 4616 Melrose Place. Why does Luke have Mary travel 100 miles while pregnant? And why does Matthew's story send the family fleeing to Egypt?

Will a complete workup reveal what the issue is, or is Kimberly perfectly content being celibate and having Michael as her best friend? Michael might be fine with that too, if it means he can keep having sex with the mystery blonde down the beach (Megan Lewis, it turns out), though he also may screw that up by demanding to know more about her life than she wants to tell him. Amanda and Peter are still snapping at each other, which Peter thinks he can fix by moving out for a while. And Taylor continues staring at him creepily whenever she sees him, though at least she FINALLY tells both him and us how she's connected to him. Jane is still determined to ruin Alison and Jake's lives. Jake reaches out to Sydney for help, and agrees with her that the right course is to ignore Jane and let her return to normal on her own; however, Alison refuses to get on board with this plan. Sydney herself, meanwhile, continues to fixate on Kyle -- but maybe the guy Samantha fixes her up with can distract her? Joshua Bowen PhD  graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2017 with a Ph.D. in Assyriology and a minor in Hebrew Bible, and  specializes in the Sumerian, Akkadian, and Hebrew languages.  In this interview, he educates us about the ancient texts that pre-date the  Hebrew bible and provided the myths and stories upon which biblical narratives were built. We talk specifically about the Exodus story, and the methods used by scholars to determine what is historically accurate  and what is not. For anybody interested in religious history, or even in religious devotion, this conversation can help you separate the myth from the meaning. As well as his Ph.D., Josh holds a B.S. in Religion from Liberty University, a Th.M. in the Old Testament from Capital Bible Seminary, and a M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from the Johns Hopkins University. He has published four books, including the best-selling The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testament, Volume I, Did the Old Testament Endorse Slavery?, Learning to Pray in a Dead Language, and Learn to Read Ancient Sumerian: An Introduction for Complete Beginners (co-authored with his wife, Megan Lewis). He also has two books forthcoming (2022): The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testament, Volume II, and Learn to Read Ancient Sumerian, Volume II.. Check out Joshua's YouTube channel HERE . In this episode I host Megan Lewis and Dr. Joshua Bowen from Digital Hammurabi on Dr. Bowens latest work "The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testament" and I'd add to that by saying it is also a handbook to the ancient Near East itself in general. The Old Testament is a fierce battleground for atheists and Christian apologists, with each side accusing the other of taking challenging and troubling passages out of context. In this handbook, Joshua Bowen not only provides the background to the Old Testament and the ancient Near East, but engages with hotly contested topics like slavery, failed prophecy, and the authorship of debated Old Testament books. In this episode I explore what lead him to write this book? How has it been received? And what does the book address? This book provides: -clear and straightforward explanations to complex topics -direct engagement with hot-button Old Testament issues -specific arguments to help you in a debate or discussion. Whether you are looking to debate problematic Old Testament issues on social media or have a relaxed, meaningful discussion with a family member over coffee, The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testament is an indispensable resource for you. Hello all and welcome to this week’s episode of Truth Wanted. Tonight, ObjectivelyDan is joined by Megan Lewis from Digital Hammurabi. The first call for tonight is Lucas from Texas who is curious about what Megan’s concept of Hell and the afterlife in general are. Lucas also wants to talk about a recent conversation with their brother who claims that they survived cancer because of God.Next up is Robert from New York who is convinced that there are “supernatural” type phenomena that exist that science will eventually one day be able to explain. While this is true, science is constantly advancing and developing new tools and techniques to investigate the unknown, that doesn’t mean that science can or will be able to explain everything. Our next caller is David from Florida has a question regarding absurdism and the existence of God. The question boils down to how we find meaning and truth in this world if we do not accept the existence of a God, or we reject a God who fails to help us understand the truths in our universe.Fourth up on the roster is Daryl from Virginia who wants to ask Dan’s opinion on the possibility of living forever and its consequences. Daryl’s “lore” so to speak offers the obvious advantages of living forever at a person’s preferred age range, but there are many factors to take into account and could lead to numerous disadvantages especially over the very long term.Last up is Colson from Texas. The caller is wondering if Megan can provide clarification on her position that a God who chooses to save one person from something is condemning another if they choose not to. They are also curious about how active the God Megan believes in is in our world.Thank you all so much for watching. We hope you enjoyed today’s show. As vaccines are continuing to roll out, please continue to remain courteous to those who are still waiting to get theirs and continue to wear your mask and social distance. To quote Megan, “Be Nice! Prioritizing Green Infrastructure Investments November 29, 2011 FCommunity decision makers are increasingly looking at installing green infrastructure to address stormwater issues. To be able to retrofit private property with such natural stormwater solutions, there needs to be a mechanism that can gain private sector involvement and investment. One approach is to use an auction system, where landowners learn about the economic value of stormwater best management practices (BMPs) and then participate in an auction to bid on what BMPs they are willing to pay for. Megan Lewis, AICP, of Cardno JFNew, and Sabina Shaikh of RCF Economic and Financial Consulting, described a project conducted for the City of Valparaiso, Indiana, to help that community prioritize stormwater BMP installation in a specific neighborhood.
