WOW this episode is FULL of surprises and crazy stories. I astral travelled (not on purpose) to the Pentagon (or the alternate dimension of this) and saw the Red Phone and so much more. Then I got pulled out of there and landed in the Oval office (or got sucked into the underground tunnel that links places) and saw something super creepy....Listen to the end of this episode for NEW psychic predictions of mine that have NEVER been released.Psychic Development Workshop:https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule/62219ffc

Rerun: After the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Soviets and Americans agreed to install a ‘hot line' between their Presidents. On 30th August, 1963, a 10,000 mile transatlantic Washington-Moscow cable went live from the Pentagon to Red Square. In the public imagination (in part thanks to Kubrik's ‘Dr Strangelove'), it remains a red telephone - but it is, in fact, a pair of beige teletype machines that each required ten staff to operate. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly explain why, prior to this, diplomacy was often being skipped altogether in favour of inflammatory radio broadcasts; consider what the messages the two nations send each other can tell us about their cultural differences; and marvel at just how much geopolitics hinges on whether two particular world leaders like each other…  Further Reading: • 'Hot line' between Washington and Moscow to be opened' (The Guardian, 1963): https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/aug/31/hot-line-between-washington-and-moscow-1963-archive • ‘There Never Was Such a Thing as a Red Phone in the White House' (Smithsonian Magazine, 2013): https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/there-never-was-such-a-thing-as-a-red-phone-in-the-white-house-1129598/?no-ist • ‘History Of The Moscow-Washington ‘Red Phone'' (NBC News, 2017): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR5Z8jYRyFo Why am I hearing a rerun?'

About 5,000 public phone boxes around the UK will be protected from closure in areas of high accident rates or poor mobile signals, under plans drawn up by Ofcom, the regulator. The communications watchdog said it would ban BT from scrapping payphones in areas where they were still needed, namely locations with poor mobile coverage, high accident or suicide rates, or higher-than-average use. There are about 21,000 call boxes across the country. Is this a good thing or are they just smelly death traps?

The gang get together to discuss how an undercover journalist for Project Veritas was able to get key information on CNN from a Technical Director by the name of Charlie Chester. The information proves that CNN had used anti-Trump propaganda to ensure that Biden won the 2020 Presidential Election. It was also found out that CNN purposely withholds  and manipulates information to spread fear and chaos throughout the world in order to meet certain types of agendas. The team share all the information they've been able to gather up to make you aware of just how biased, and in the pockets of the rich and powerful, CNN and other news agencies really are. How was Project Veritas able to obtain this information from a CNN Technical Director? What exactly was discovered and how damaging is it for not only CNN, but the world as well? What's it take to influence 7 billion people? Who's inside ‘The Room' of people that make the decisions for CNN? There's rumors of a “Red Phone” that is answered at CNN, and once answered whatever is said on that line is what the news channel must pass along to the world. Who exactly is on the opposite end of this phone? Could this be a “secret society” or some form of government that is put together to manipulate “We the People” for their own personal gain? Alongside this, the guys discuss hype surrounding GTA 6, Aaron Donald fight rumors. Ben Askren vs Jake Paul, and the recent success investors are having if they've put any money in Doge on the stock market. What is the recent information surrounding Rockstar's next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series? Was Aaron Donald at fault for a recent fight in Pittsburgh that left an individual with a busted eye? On April 17, who will win the boxing match between a YouTube star and a former MMA fighter? With the recent success of Doge Coin on the stock market, how successful have the guys from the podcast been since Doge is on course to meet $1 possibly sooner than everyone may have thought? Throughout the discussion all of these topics, the team also find time for banter about a Karen who exploded at Matt's work place, Tanner writing an emotional support letter for one of his patients, a funny story surrounding a FBI background check, and past Beer Olympics the guys have been involved in. Find out about this, and so much more, in this episode of the podcast!

Yes it did, but also no, it didn't. Before we get into specifics, what was the red phone? The red phone was said to be a direct line of communication between the Pentagon and the Kremlin in Russia, set up in August 1963 after the Cuban missile crisis of the previous year. This episode was, as you may know, a kind of paroxysm of the Cold War. The Americans and Russians were never as close to war as they were when Moscow pointed missiles from Cuba at the United States. (06:00) When Silicon Valley gets markets wrong (08:02) The new early stage landscape - from pre-seed to series A (09:31) The Gross Margin Problem (19:47) Non-obvious lessons on pitching (27:34)  Airpods Pro (34:06) Resources: Jeff Morris Jr., Don Valentine, target big markets: http://bit.ly/2Q8cnL9 Pear VC, Navigating The New Seed Landscape: http://bit.ly/2TMoz6G  Craft Ventures, The Gross margin Problem: Lessons for Tech-Enabled Startups: http://bit.ly/2vlLQ6a James Currier, Fundraising is not natural: http://bit.ly/2TMp14S The Verge, Airpods Pro launch: http://bit.ly/39OvOjY  Inverse, Red Phone getting killed: http://bit.ly/2wVEh6k   Our co-hosts: Bertrand Schmitt, Tech Entrepreneur, co-founder and Chairman at App Annie, @bschmitt Nuno Goncalves Pedro, Investor, co-Founder and Managing Partner of Strive Capital, @ngpedro  Our show:   Tech DECIPHERED brings you the Entrepreneur and Investor views on Big Tech, VC and Start-up news, opinion pieces and research. Sequoia capital having become one of the most significant players in the venture capital space.  And Bertrand you actually met Don and Sequoia was an investor in your company? Some words around Don and around Sequoia? Bertrand: Yes, I met him a few years back  at a private Sequoia event where he was, giving his jacket, the Don Valentine jacket to one exec who did a lot for  a Sequoia family portfolio company. Nuno: And what is the Don Valentine jacket?  Bertrand: It's a nice looking colorful jacket, if I remember well . Nuno: Does it have a specific meaning attached to it? Is it like someone that's helped Sequoia or the portfolio company?  Bertrand: I think it's about someone who not only helped a portfolio company, but if I remember well, this person also helped quite a few other Sequoia portfolio companies, was available and open to meet with other fellow entrepreneurs, and that seemed to have been a tradition at Sequoia.  The importance of targeting big markets (02:41) Nuno: In the news we're sharing this week is obviously, one of, his speeches at Stanford graduate school of business, around targeting big markets. You know, obviously there's a lot to be said about big markets. And I think in some ways there's been a lot of emphasis in recent times in particular,
