This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3279340/advertisement

A seasoned business leader with 25 years of experience in North American, Asian, Middle Eastern and European markets, Syed leads Safr’s global growth, investment and overall company vision to build a better, safer and more empowering future for women around the world. Complementary to his leadership role at Safr, Syed founded and led Z-Square Technology, the platform driving the future of ridesharing by innovating and merging government transportation infrastructure with public and business economies for improved public safety and driver experience. Z-Square Technology concentrates on smart transportation system, secure credentialing and border management verticals. As a new company in a highly competitive market, ZST has gained significant momentum by implementing its solutions in the U.S., Caribbean and globally. Prior to Safr, Syed was Founder and President at Career.VI, a subsidiary of BIZVI, Virgin Islands' leading technology, research, marketing, and training company and the Islands’ only 21st century market-based job system. Syed also served as the President & CEO at TABS Group International (TGI) and BIZVI Group, an international technology, research, marketing and training company serving the government and non-profit organizations and businesses in three countries. If you have ever traveled or live in a city you most likely have used a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. They are convenient, affordable, and easy to use. Most of the time it's a great experience that is beneficial to both the rider and the driver. However, one question comes over time and time again. How safe are rideshare apps and what are companies like Uber and Lyft doing to create a safe space for everyone that uses these tools?Syed Gilani and the team at Safr felt like they could answer this question and build a better App for women and others who don't feel safe using the existing tools. In today's conversation, we chat with Syed about how their approach to rideshare is creating the safest, most secure riding experience in the industry. He answers the question 'Why truly reliable and safe transportation for women is so hard to find?' He also shares the complexity the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the rideshare space.Later in the conversation, we discuss the world of startups, app development, startup funding, entrepreneurship, and more.Linkshttps://www.gosafr.comToday's episode is sponsored by Flocksy. In this episode, we’re fusing purpose, economics, strategy and gender equality in the company of Syed Gilani, the CEO and president of Safr, a new ride-sharing service designed to provide safe transportation and job opportunities for women everywhere. Syed discusses his vision, the importance of equality, and how we should all be endeavouring to turn neighbourhoods into sisterhoods. KEY TAKEAWAYS Women are marginalised in society, in terms of wage disparity, opportunities, and wealth distribution. This a global situation, and must be addressed on a worldwide scale. Women are not made to feel safe, especially during the later hours of the day. By providing a safe form of reliable transportation, women may feel more empowered to travel and to work longer. By building a brand that is trusted and respected, new features, such as community-based deliveries and errands, can be added, with a sense of trust already pre-installed. Equality is not just about economic parity, but social parity. By providing the same opportunities and income, we provide women with the empowerment to seek social equality if they choose. BEST MOMENTS ’This is something we should address, and don’t kick the can down the lane’ ‘You can create a sense of community - a sense of sisterhood’ ‘It’s about how we can contribute to your life to make it easier, safer and healthier’ ‘If a woman is economically empowered, she will make sure that she is socially empowered, as well’ VALUABLE RESOURCES The Business Mastermind Podcast Safr - https://www.gosafr.com Syed Gilani Twitter - https://twitter.com/syedzgilani?lang=en Syed Gilani LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/syedxgilani/ ABOUT THE HOST Gavin Preston Gavin is an inspirational Speaker, Business Strategist, Business Growth Mentor, Trainer and high-performance Coach. Welcome to the third part of our State of Enterprise Biometrics event, presented in association with our premier security partner ISC West. ISC West has been postponed due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, but the converged security conversation is more critical than ever. That's why we are bringing the enterprise biometrics conversation online, with longform expert interviews, an extended podcast panel, and this latest event: the state of the industry survey. Readers of FindBiometrics and Mobile ID World know that our live conference coverage is punctuated by show floor interviews. And in lieu of a show floor, we reached out to identity tech companies remotely to ask them about the biggest identity and authentication issues in the modern enterprise. In part three of this virtual show floor event, you will hear answers from Boon Edam, Touchless Biometric Systems, and SAFR from RealNetworks.

Talking about digital security and how to watch out for yourself in our digital landscape with Robert Siciliano of Safr.me. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/tron-jordheim/support
And, as the picture shows, more from Long Haul Paul Marhoefer from the stage at the Key Palace Theater in Redkey, Ind., this past Feb. 2. Otherwise, this edition of Overdrive Radio takes aim at combating increasingly proliferating online scams. High degrees of situational awareness are your best tools, says Safr.me consultant and author Robert Siciliano, who speaks here. Some such cases have seen the light of day at OverdriveOnline.com, including the recent dramatic and expensive tale of a Georgia trucker catfished by a fake online romantic relationship and tricked into wiring more than $25 grand to the other party. Fall for such a scam once, too, and you're now on a "sucker list" maintained by what's increasingly resembling something of an online-scam industrial complex. "They will work you to the end of your days," says Siciliano, who has a particular expertise in the online scam arena. He's the CEO of the non-profit personal security education site, and also a private investigator. He regularly consults with Fortune 500 companies about privacy and security and you might recognize his voice from interviews in major media outlets tapping his expertise in just how people can protect themselves in their online interactions. Overdrive Senior Editor James Jaillet and Contributing Editor Carolyn Mason talked with Siciliano about increasing your own awareness of how these scams play out to most effectively prevent them.
In Episode 7 of the Art of Waging Small Business Warfare podcast, we bring you up to speed with Guerrillapreneur news, news about the sharing, gig and circular loop economies. First, According to Forbes Magazine, sharing economy companies are improving the economic fortunes of women around the world. Female Airbnb hosts in Kenya are earning enough to cover one-third of their household costs. Female hosts in India are earning enough to cover over 30% of their household costs. Despite the change in fortunes, women still lag men in launching sharing economy startups. Debbie Wosskow, founder and CEO of Love Home Swap, has launched a Allbright, a unique UK funding platform designed to provide the support and finance needed by female-led businesses to launch and scale. Second, Safr Ride Sharing Service has changed their market approach. Initially, Safr launched as a woman-only ride sharing service -- with women drivers serving only women riders. Safr has modified its approach to all men to both ride and drive for the company. However, Safr does give users the option in its App to select whether they prefer women drivers and/or riders. Third, Snagajob and Husl have both completed market test and are preparing to roll-out their on-demand service for hourly workers that is focused on the restaurant sector. Fourth, Cat-in-a-Flat, the Airbnb of the Cat Sitting space, has begun a full scale roll-out after their soft launch in London, Dublin and Amsterdamn. You will soon be able to use their app to locate a trust cat sitter for your fluffy friend. Fifth, three Chinese Shared-Battery Sharing and/or Smart Device Charging companies announced investments on the same day. According to Six Tone magazine, Xiaodian received a $350 million-Yuan ($50.7 million US) in investments while Hidian and Feichangdian received $100 million Yuan ($14.5 million US) and $3 million Yuan ($435,000 US) respectively. Finally, Up & Go, and Home Cleaning Startup started by cleaning cooperatives Brightly Cleaning, Cooperative Cleaning of New York, and Ecomundo, is fighting the tech giants entering their space. Unlike taxi cab companies, these cooperatives have decided to fight back and use technology to give them the sharing economy benefits and reach more customers. In Episode 6, I presented the Growth Capacity Framework to help business mavericks and entrepreneurs create management capacity. The framework uses two dimensions (Do the tasks differentiate your business and Are the tasks Critical to the Daily Delivery of the Product or Service) to help founders to sort business tasks into four quadrants: CORE COMPETENCY Tasks, Tasks that represent NEW COMPETENCIES, Tasks that should be OUTSOURCED and tasks that founders should seek to REDUCE THE COST. In Episode 7, we use our Mastermind Interview with sales guru, Scott Sullivan of Sullivan & Associates (also known as Synergenic Sales Group), to reflect on the Growth Capacity Framework and to show founders how they can OUTSOURCE Sales and Marketing and unleash explosive growth. Please share your feedback and ways that we can improve the podcast.
