D'Margret Stéckel erzielt d'Geschicht vum Lukas Braak, dee Schëffskapitän an der DDR war a wéinst Westkontakter säi Beruff huet missen opginn. Hien a seng Fra verléieren hir Aarbecht. De Lukas fillt sech ongerecht behandelt a just éier d'Mauer fält, schreift hien dem Erich Honecker e Bréif, andeem hien deem proposéiert mat him ze schwätzen. D'Margret Steckel hëlt eis mat an d'Kandheet vum Lukas, säin Erwuesseginn, Kenneléiere vu senger Fra, alles ass u sech eng Skizz, mee mat esou enger Intensitéit, typesch Margret Steckel, si seet an engem Saz esou vill, wou anerer eng ganz Säit brauchen ... D'Valerija Berdi an de Michel Delage am Gespréich iwwer d'Wierk, dat bei Capybarabooks erauskoum.
MF DOOM was a legendary emcee known for wearing a mask and keeping a distance from fame in a genre where artists usually embrace the spotlight. When you were a kid, did your parents ever ask you to do your Wiggler practice? How about getting to your room and playing your Vibrowheels? Surely there were repercussions if you didn't practice your Melocipede???? Welcome to episode 98 of See Hear Podcast. Neil Feather is a creator of musical instruments (such as the ones listed above), and a firm believer in playing experimental music. He doesn't play with the existing 12-tone system predominant in Western music. Film maker and friend of the show Skizz Cyzyk has created a documentary about Neil showing his creative process in building his instruments, how he uses them, the connection between science, engineering and art, and how he collaborates with other musicians. This is no dry history doc with talking heads describing how Neil “changed their lives”. This is about what Neil has actually done and what he further wants to achieve, and is absorbing. Bernie and I were joined by Mike White of The Projection Booth (and a gazillion other shows) to talk with Skizz about Neil and his creative process. We learned lots, and we hope you will too. Skizz is currently doing individual screenings of the film, so keep your eyes posted, but here's the trailer: https://vimeo.com/520019005 You can keep up with Skizz' activities at http://www.skizz.net/ Mike is always adding new podcasts to his swag, but the flagship show, The Projection Booth has details here: https://www.projectionboothpodcast.com/ If you've been enjoying the show, please consider giving us a favourable review on iTunes and let your friends know that our show exists. The 1980s were headed into frightening times politically. The threat of war and potential nuclear conflict was pervasive. So naturally music would reflect the times, right? Sure thing....Bette Davis Eyes, Nine To Five (Morning Train), This Ole' House, You Weren't In Love With Me, and Just The Two Of Us were what people were buying – they reflect the times, right? Welcome to episode 96 of See Hear Podcast. Okay, okay.....I loaded up some songs that were the antithesis of the films under question, but just wanted to make a point that what was popular in the mainstream was still a long way from the more edgy music that rock fans were taking joy and catharsis in. While a lot of the new wave of music wasn't necessarily focusing on the fears of the world, its often jittery nature and aggressive sounds surely reflected the state of the world (that's my theory and I'm sticking with it). Tim and Bernie look at a pair of films released in 1981. For the main part, they discuss Urgh! A Music War, a concert film showing the diversity of the “new wave” / post punk bands of the era. How else are you going to find a connection between Klaus Nomi, XTC, Gary Numan and The Cramps? It's a great time capsule of the era showing that musicians didn't choose (at least at first) to play it safe, but still found varying levels of success. They also look at a film more musically focused called Dance Craze – a concert film featuring a range of bands from the British ska revival of the late 70s / early 80s. While any of these bands could have easily fit into Urgh! A Music War, it's great that Dance Craze exists as a companion piece. Later in the show, I speak with director and friend of the show, Skizz Cyzyk about a documentary he's been working off and on for many years called Urgh! Revisited. Acknowledging that there's not much information out there about U!AMW, Skizz has interviewed a range of musicians from the original film about their recollections of the era, and how the film got made. Hopefully, he gets to finish it and put some perspective on a cherished film without much documented history. Our huge thanks to Skizz for joining us. U!AMW can be found on Kanopy in some regions, or at https://archive.org/details/urghamusicwar Dance Craze is on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVexewVb2B4 You can find out info about Skizz's film and music adventures at http://www.skizz.net/ If you've been enjoying the show, please consider giving us a favourable review on iTunes and let your friends know that our show exists. A Music War, it's great that Dance Craze exists as a companion piece.Later in the show, I speak with director and friend of the show, Skizz Cyzyk about a documentary he's been working off and on for many years called Urgh! Revisited. Acknowledging that there's not much information out there about U!AMW, Skizz has interviewed a range of musicians from the original film about their recollections of the era, and how the film got made. Hopefully, he gets to finish it and put some perspective on a cherished film without much documented history. The 1980s were headed into frightening times politically. The threat of war and potential nuclear conflict was pervasive. So naturally music would reflect the times, right? Sure thing....Bette Davis Eyes, Nine To Five (Morning Train), This Ole' House, You Weren't In Love With Me, and Just The Two Of Us were what people were buying – they reflect the times, right?Welcome to episode 96 of See Hear Podcast.Okay, okay.....I loaded up some songs that were the antithesis of the films under question, but just wanted to make a point that what was popular in the mainstream was still a long way from the more edgy music that rock fans were taking joy and catharsis in. While a lot of the new wave of music wasn't necessarily focusing on the fears of the world, its often jittery nature and aggressive sounds surely reflected the state of the world (that's my theory and I'm sticking with it).Tim and Bernie look at a pair of films released in 1981. I Predict that When I'm With You, there will be no Existential Threat unless we're Eaten By The Monster Of Love in this Cool World.Welcome to episode 86 of See Hear Podcast.Edgar Wright has been known to use music to great effect in his narrative films, so it's only appropriate that he makes a music-related documentary. The Sparks Brothers tells the tale of brothers Ron and Russell Mael who as Sparks have been writing and recording albums for nearly 5 decades. Unlike so many musicians who had an initial creative flourish then lose sight of their muse, the Maels are still creating great music right up to today.Due to a peculiar turn of events, Tim, Bernard and Maurice handed the keys to the See Hear car over to friends of the show Mike White of the Projection Booth Podcast and musician / documentarian Skizz Cyzyk. These guys are the best, and we felt completely comfortable leaving the show in their professional hands. As a bonus, Mike also presents an interview with the film's editor Paul Trewartha. It's a fascinating discussion about his involvement with the film as well as the editing process in general. The regular crew will definitely be back next month to carry on with regular podcast shenanigans (which may be bad news if you've enjoyed the high standard brought by Mike and Skizz). It’s January 2019, and See Hear starts its sixth year. With the world in strife, what better time than now to talk about a man and an arts movement that embraced the absurd. Tim, Bernard and myself are joined by musician and film director Skizz Cyzyk to talk about his new film, Icepick To The Moon. It starts out being about obscure but beloved singer, Reverend Fred Lane. It ends up being a lot more. It spends time focusing on Dadaism, pataphysics, the Raudelunas arts collective, and how dressing up as a vegetable or an appliance in a parade is seemingly strange but dressing up as a bucket of KFC is mainstream!!! There’s also a focus on adventurousness in music – big band swing, country, demon music boxes, and a concerto for frogs. Skizz spent a long time putting this fantastic film together. Fred Lane (aka Tim Reed) is a fascinating guy who kept company with other people who thought about the arts in ways mainstream media don’t give a moment’s thought to – their loss. We’re hugely grateful to Skizz for speaking to us about this wonderful film. A great documentary is one that you will keep thinking about as well as learning something new – the See Hear crew acknowledge Skizz has done both. He’s touring the film around the US, but it should be available on DVD and streaming platforms later in 2019. We urge you to see Icepick To The Moon….more than once if you can. Also our thanks to Mike White at The Projection Booth for putting us in touch. You can download the show by searching for See Hear podcast on iTunes, Spotify or Stitcher or you can download from http://seehear.podbean.com …..or whatever podcast app you favour. You can follow up on details of the film and any future screenings (and DVD release dates when available) at http://www.fredlanedoc.com. Also, search for Skizz as a regular contributor at The Projection Booth If you dig what we do, could you please rate us at iTunes or even better, spread the word that the show exists on social media or at your next barbecue, gig, or marathon run so more folks can tune in. Please join our friendly Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/groups/seehearpodcast You can send us emails at seehearpodcast@gmail.com to suggest films you'd like us to discuss, give us your thoughts on what we do or anything else music-film related.

We get into some history as Rim breaks down how DaVillins came to be one of a few artists signed to Sean Price’s Ruckdown Records, how their relationship with P morphed into being more than about music and the very bright future for the Bernadette Price helmed Ruckdown label. You can imagine what else you’ll find out when you push play, so don’t delay! Cop “Cashmere Dice” now on Different Worlds Music Group, cop “Imperius Rex” on Ruckdown Records when it drops later this year and remember we ALWAYS serve up that #smithsonian #grade #twiceaweek // southernvangard.com // @southernvangard on #itunes #podcast #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud // #hiphop #rap #undergroundhipihop #DJ #mix #interview #podcasts #ATL #BROWNSVILLE #BROOKLYN #WORLDWIDE Recorded live April 30, 2017 @ Dirty Blanket Studios, Marietta, GA southernvangard.com @southernvangard on #itunes #podcast #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud twitter/IG: @jondoeatl @southernvangard @cappuccinomeeks

If you hear a grimy beat that's so ridiculously filthy, I mean, we're talking huge levels of grime, like Pigpen doing Suga Free karaoake in an Oklahoma strip club for the breakfast crowd on a weekday, there's a good chance that's a DJ Skizz production. And while the talented producer probably isn't a part of the Oklahoma strip club weekday breakfast scene, he is in the elite group of producers dedicated to the craft of dropping hardbody beats for the illest MCs in the game, like Milano Constantine. Together, they just dropped an EP, The Way We Were, which is 'Lano's first official release in a minute. The talented MC hasn't lost a step, but it'd be hard for him to falter over the Skizz backdrops. Before the Milano project, Skizz released a critically-acclaimed compilation over the summer, Cruise Control, that was a who's-who of talented rappers. And this is just the beginning for the former Halftime Show DJ. Expect to see the name pop up a lot more in the future, but for now, check out Skizz as he waxes poetic on working with Milano, how he can do what he does and still pay the bills, his experience at the Halftime Show, his production techniques, and much more. http://twitter.com/djskizz http://twitter.com/seven3zero www.amazon.com/Words-1-Brian-Kayser/dp/1535126035

Ingen glömd, men några utanför podcast helt enkelt. SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/shonnarvet/sets/best-2016Spotify: Shonnar Vet 2016Gott nytt år, vi hörs 2017 Låtlista: Kanye West, Kirk Franklin, The-Dream, Kelly Price, Chance The Rapper - "Ultralight Beam" Kodak Black - "Can I" Rikard ”Skizz” Bizzi & Marre - "isdop dnävmO" Young Thug feat. BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the DJ Skizz interview session! This man needs no introduction, as he’s been holding things down alongside DJ Eclipse & Co. for 18 years at The Halftime Show on WNYU Radio. However, the past couple of years have been pivotal for Skizz on the production tip as he delivered the goods for a slew of artists, including Your Old Droog and was there from day one of the Nas comparison controversy. We sit down with Skizz to talk about everything you would expect - his beginnings in this thing we call hip-hop, moving to New Orleans and subsequently New York for college, as well as how he connected with DJ RIz & DJ Eclipse to become part of one of the most important rap radio shows in recent years. Of course we talk Droog, being mentored by friend and monster producer Marco Polo and what its like to play beats alongside the greats at the Halftime Anniversary shows. Looking into 2016 and beyond, Skizz discuss what we can expect from the follow up of his 2013 album, Brooklyn-Queens Experience, his upcoming work with Milano Constantine, Jakk Frost & others, and the end of the Halftime Show this March.
