In this clip, we dissect a provocative idea from queer activism: the redefinition of "straight." Far from being synonymous with heterosexuality, queer activists argue that straightness represents a rigid framework of societal norms."Straightness is a multifaceted set of social rules that police our bodies, our minds, our desires, and the ways we interact with others."Join me LIVE for streams on YouTube and Rumble, Monday-Friday at 5pm ET and Saturdays at 6pm ET for Socialism Saturday—your front-row seat to the far-left agenda.Support My Work and Help Me Expose the Far LeftI'm 100% funded by you via small donations and with the help of a volunteer community to spread the word. Straightness is a virtue. Straightness means to be proper and upstanding in all of your conduct. It means doing what's proper and just and good. It also references thinking. On yet another action-packed Monday morning episode of The Charlie Kirk Show, Charlie takes the questions you ask him in his inbox at Freedom@CharlieKirk.com and answers them for the entire show. First up, he responds to a concerned parent from Alabama who caught wind of one of the most radical curriculum components we've seen on this show out of San Diego Unified School District—you'll have to hear this one to believe it. Next, on a sadly related note, he tackles all the questions being asked about the spread of “Monkeypox,” where it comes from, how to stop it, and how we as Christians and conservatives should react to the entire saga of orgies, sickness, and sin. Finally, even though Joe has seemingly recovered by now, he closes the show by raising a question of his own: what's going on with Joe Biden and his non-stop COVID Marathon?Support the show: http://www.charliekirk.com/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I am VERY EXCITED to share with you today and interview that I know will help give you some tips to improve your position and get straighter in the saddle!A big part of Dressage is straightness. All horses are naturally crooked and so are the riders. It is very important to first identify these asymmetries, understand how the effect your position and your horse and then work to correct them! Here are some of the key takeaways from the interview although I highly suggest you watch the video as there are a ton of really great information in the interview:— It is important that you can see and actually visualize your asymmetries so that you can fix them. Often our proprioception is off - we think that we are straight when we are not. The first step to correcting this is you must see your asymmetries.— Building Blocks for Straightness - to assess the rider's straightness, always start with the pelvis and make sure that the pelvis is sitting straight in the saddle. Then work your way up to the ribcage, shoulders, and finally the head.— Consider what you do outside of riding - the way that you sit in your car, the way that you sit at your desk and even the way that you sleep effects your riding and symmetry in the saddle as does any old injuries you have had. Exercise, working with a physical therapist, and addressing your asymmetries when NOT riding is hugely important.I am very grateful to Dr. Russel MacKechnie-Guire fo doing this interview! I learned a ton and I hope you did as well! Dr. Russel MacKechnie-Guire is the founder of Centaur Biomechanics and developed the black jackets with a yellow ex on the back that I often use in my videos. Russell MacKechnie-Guire holds a PhD in EquineBiomechanics, graduating from the Royal VeterinaryCollege in 2019. Russell's thesis was titled ‘TheRelationship between Saddle and Rider Kinematics,Equine Locomotion, and Thoracolumbar Pressures inSports Horses'. Russell is based at Centaur Biomechanics,a company which he founded in 2006. He has extensivelyresearched the effect that tack (saddle, bridle and girth)has on equine health and performance. Russell's currentarea of research is horse-saddle-rider interaction, spinal kinematics in horses when ridden over ground and the effect that rider asymmetry has on equine back movement. In addition, Russell collaborates with researchers from around the world on various research projects associated with equine health and performance. For a horse to be straight, he must be supple.A supple horse can move his neck, haunches, and shoulders equally in both directions without resistance, and his whole body is loose and flexible. This makes it easier for the horse to keep his longitudinal axis in line with the curved or straight track that he is following, and therefore, straight. If you would rather read the article on our blog, click here - https://howtodressage.com/dressage-theory/lateral-work-improve-straightness/ To view our equestrian books and training diaries on Amazon, click here - https://amzn.to/2SFL633 If you would like to join our Facebook Group, click here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/howtodressagegroup/ If you would like to support the show and donate via PayPal, click here - https://www.paypal.me/howtodressageSupport the show (https://www.paypal.me/howtodressage)
For many riders, collection can feel like an exotic and luxury destination that they can only dream about visiting. It can feel very much outside the realms of possibility when they consider their riding abilities and their horse's abilities as well. Now, the flip side of this is that there are also a smaller group of riders who feel entitled to go there every day. No preparation, no visa requirements. Just click your heels three times and, voila! Collection. Hmmm... In this case, the collection they're visiting is unlikely to be the real thing; rather a cheap imitation! And finally, we have the riders who visit collection often with their horses. They have put in the time, invested the effort, and now they can visit regularly for short trips. For most riders, collection is not somewhere they want to stay forever... Just a place to visit in order to enhance the journey. What is Collection? Read More... When I was first starting out as a rider, I thought that straightness was a simple and easy concept. I remember the first time someone told me that one of the hardest things to do on a horse was to ride a straight line. I didn't believe them! However, turns out they might just have been right... Keep in mind that whenever you are working on the lower steps of the scale, you are doing so with an eye on the top steps. And when working on the top steps, you are doing so through the filters of the lower steps of the scale. What is Straightness? It's a bit of a trick question; the simple answer is 'when I ride a straight line', right? Well, yes... And part of straightness is definitely being able to ride and work on a straight line. Often when we talk about riding for straightness, the image of a horse, collected and engaged, going in a straight line down the long side of the arena comes to mind. But how do you achieve straightness in the corners? Or out in the field? And why is it important to work on straightness in our horses? How do we as bodyworkers, help riders achieve success here? Today we chat with Crystal Kroetch of Carousel Stables. Crystal is a master at the art of achieving straightness in horses and has worked with and rode in a variety of disciplines from ranch work to FEI level dressage. She is also a PanAm silver medalist in dressage. For more information on Crystal and Carousel Stables, check out their website at https://www.carouselstablescalgary.com/ Our goal with this podcast is to continually open the conversation around equine wellness and bodywork. It is through open conversation that we can grow this industry with knowledge and understanding of our equine partners. Ever evolving along with tried and true methods of horse husbandry, it's by learning from one another that we will elevate the care of these amazing animals and partners.

As I mentioned in my last podcast, I like Facebook. It gives me an opportunity to dialogue with people I don’t know personally, and it allows me to get a sense of folks’ perspectives on important issues of the day. Recently, a few of my more progressive and liberal Facebook friends have been somewhat agitated over the “Straight Pride Movement” and the parades and marches and rallies members of the movement are having across our country. Frankly, I’m a little baffled by the movement myself. Apparently, the Straight Pride Movement was formed as a backlash against the LGBT Pride Movement. I guess the Straight Pride people feel sort of left out and are agitated themselves that they’re not getting the respect and equality they feel they deserve. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/elk-grove-news/support
