You gotta fall in love with the process, and that process is exciting.” “Let the emotional thing that's tied to the failure—let it go. But steal the lesson from that moment to become more. That's the process, and that's a beautiful thing. That's the reward. The reward is, ‘Yeah, I fell down today, but when I got back up, I learned how not to fall that way again.'” “If I don't have my health, I don't have anything else.” “The gateway to success is an inside-out game. It has to start inside you.” “I can't worry about my neighbor right now when I'm trying to fix my home. So let me put my home in the right place, and then maybe, by example, I can be a great example to my neighbor.” “I know that I have the power to change myself. I may not have the power to change others because they have to decide they want to change.” “We all have a seed of greatness. We're here to serve. We're here for a purpose. We're here for a reason. We're here for a why, and it's not for us—it's for someone else.” “When we work on us, then we can work on being better for those around us.” PODCASTS MENTIONED: The Ed Mylett Show (https://tinyurl.com/TheEdMylettShow) The Maxwell Leadership Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/MaxwellLeadershipPodcast) Pastor Rick's Daily Hope (https://tinyurl.com/PastorRicksDailyHope) The Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast (https://tinyurl.com/CraigGroeschelLeadershipPod) USEFUL RESOURCES: Next Level You Workshop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq5TD9ZHZpA https://toddofficial.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/toddstottlemyre/ https://www.instagram.com/todd.stott https://www.facebook.com/todd.stottlemyre https://x.com/ToddStottlemyre https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKJCB98_92Se0jK08SdmuRw Relentless Success: 9-Point System for Major League Achievement (https://a.co/d/gZU8r8I) The Observer: A Modern Fable on Mastering Your Thoughts & Emotions (https://a.co/d/dy4tSSW) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://iamjohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

We weren't talking baseball. We weren't talking about, you know, money or anything else. It was love, and it was about being in the moment.” “Failing is important. We actually need to fail because that's when the opportunity to learn presents itself. You don't learn a thing by doing it right. You only have an opportunity to learn when you do it wrong.” “If you don't know what you want to do, and you don't know where you want to go, when life throws you a set of circumstances, you're going to get buried in those circumstances.” “What happens when the world throws you a set of circumstances that are out of your control, and Mommy and Daddy can't make you happy any longer? You actually have to go through it, learn from it, and figure out how to move forward. So, let the kids learn that emotional IQ.” “The name on the front of the uniform is a lot more important than the name on the back of the uniform.” “Championships are won through getting uncomfortable, growing, and coming together as a team.” “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, take others with you.” “Today, we have a reaction problem, and if we can teach people to respond versus react, you'd see a much different outcome.” “Love your neighbor as if it were yourself. If we could all follow the Golden Rule, wouldn't we have world peace?” “Words are shallow; actions are deep.” “The beautiful thing about your first step is you might learn not the ‘how to,' but it's a lesson, and then it continues to move you forward.” “The reward is the process.” USEFUL RESOURCES: https://toddofficial.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/toddstottlemyre/ https://www.instagram.com/todd.stott https://www.facebook.com/todd.stottlemyre https://x.com/ToddStottlemyre https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKJCB98_92Se0jK08SdmuRw Relentless Success: 9-Point System for Major League Achievement (https://a.co/d/gZU8r8I) The Observer: A Modern Fable on Mastering Your Thoughts & Emotions (https://a.co/d/dy4tSSW) CONNECT WITH JOHN Website - https://thejohnhulen.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/johnhulen Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/johnhulen X - https://x.com/johnhulen LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhulen YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLX_NchE8lisC4NL2GciIWA EPISODE CREDITS Intro and Outro music provided by Jeff Scheetz - https://jeffscheetz.com/

Follow Building in Public Podcast: https://x.com/builtnpublicpod In this episode, Aldo de Pape, the founder of GenomesDAO, discussed the challenges facing the genetic testing industry and how his organization is addressing them. He highlighted concerns around privacy and security, particularly in light of the increasing number of healthcare data breaches. GenomesDAO's approach prioritizes the safety and ownership of genomic data, contrasting their model with companies like 23andMe by ensuring individuals retain control over their biological samples and data via blockchain technology and partnerships with companies like AMD. Aldo also explained how GenomesDAO's consent protocol allows individuals to be compensated for sharing their data with research partners, such as pharmaceutical companies. He discussed the value of genomic data and the ways users can engage with the platform, either by ordering a genetic testing kit or transferring data from other platforms. The episode also covered the demand side of GenomesDAO's business model, where the platform serves as secure infrastructure for genomic research, with growing interest from pharmaceutical companies. Through its focus on data ownership, security, and user empowerment, GenomesDAO is reshaping the genetic testing landscape. Michael Hill played seven seasons in the NBL, playing for both the Canberra Cannons and the Brisbane Bullets. He averaged 9.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 235 NBL games and was a key part of Brisbane's 2007 championship, where he averaged 20 minutes per game coming off the bench. After winning an NBL championship in 2007 his NBL career was cut short thanks to the ineffective salary cap solution which was the NBL Points System. A system that was initially developed to create parity among the league and protect NBL teams from exiting the league aligned with one of the darkest periods of NBL history. He joins host Dan Boyce to give his first hand account of how the points system forced him to retire at age 29 despite being one of the country's best players off the bench and how it shunted the development of Aussie hoops for a decade. https://www.jeffheggie.com/blog/take-the-quit-option-off-the-table Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies 747: Take The Quit Option Off The Table In his book, Relentless Success: 9-Point System for Major League Achievement, Todd Stottlemyre shares his personal story of "Taking the Quit Option Off the Table." In the 1987 off-season he put in a lot of extra work and effort in his attempt to live his dream to become a major league pitcher. When spring training rolled around, it paid off and he was picked up by the Toronto Blue Jays. But by August he was sent back down to the teams AAA team. Todd dominated in AAA and was brought back up to the Blue Jays in September of 1988. He finally thought he was set, he was now a major league pitcher! But at the end of the season, he was ready for some time to rest and recuperate, but the teams General Manager informed him that he would need to spend the winter of 1988 playing in Venezuela to learn how to throw a slider, or he wouldn't make the major league club in 1989. So for the second year in a row, he gave up his time off to work on his game and become a better pitcher. In 1989 he was on the Blue Jays roster. He was feeling good, confident in himself, and living his dream. But in May of 1989 he was pushed back down to the minor leagues again. He was mad! He felt it was unjustified and he was major league quality. For the first time in his life he questioned if he'd be able to live out his dream of being a major league pitcher. He considered quitting all together. But he made the decision to go to the minors and become the best pitcher he could possibly be. He refused to quit. One month later he was called back up to the Blue Jays! He started 12 games that season. He pitched in game 2 of the playoffs against the Oakland Athletics. He became the youngest starter in a playoff game in the Blue Jays history. This was the start of his 15-year major league career which brought him 3 World Championships! What if he would have quit? What if he would have quit when he was only one month away? What if you knew your success was only one month away? Give it everything you've got! Work harder than you've ever worked before. Welcome to the 6th Round Retro Post-Fight Show. This is the show that digs into the archives and gives you a comprehensive review of classic MMA events, that span as far back as UFC 1. Join Eddie Mercado & Victor Rodriguez as they delve into the world of the PFL (Professional Fighter's League) 2018 Championship Event this week, straight out of the archives of yesteryear. So let's take a trip back to Mon, Dec 31, 2018. The guys will explore the inaugural championship MMA event for the 2018 PFL season, entitled: ‘PFL 2018 Championship', aka: ‘PFL 11' – complete with results, analysis, and of course a few laughs. The event was broadcast live on New Year's Eve (Dec 31, 2018) as mentioned, LIVE from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC, NY. For those of you not in the know, the PFL is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis; putting on fights across six weight-divisions: featherweight, women's lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. These events are held within a ten-sided MMA cage known as the ‘SmartCage', adhering to the unified rules of MMA, with the exception of prohibiting any elbow strikes. For more on their Fight Format and Point System, which determines the championship series outcomes, read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Fighters_League#Fight_format_and_point_system The event was the eleventh and final event of the 2018 season. Each champion in the six weight classes was crowned and won a championship prize of $1 million each. For this debut season they opened the fighter pool at the beginning of the season with 72 fighters across their six weight-classes, competing in seven regular season events. The top eight in each division squared off in single elimination, bracket-style playoff fights. Overall, we had a total of seven bouts, with five of them ending in finishes, resulting in six new millionaires (prior to taxes, of course), and including one two-time Olympic Gold Medalist in her third MMA fight. The event had what TV Ratings averaging 204,000 viewers. If you would like to watch the event, it can be found in the PFL Archives OR via the Official PFL YouTube Channel under the names of the fighters of each bout. Join us to rediscover all the action and discuss as we go along! Let's check it out! The Ch'eghwetsen Method is a habit building system Meredith built to encourage healthy habits without being self-critical. Renee Warren, founder of We Wild Women, is to thank for getting this system out in the world. ✋For Meredith, she noticed that hunger and drive to always be doing her absolute best were in conflict with each other while training for a long distance mountain bike race. There was a lot of hurtful self talk and never feeling good enough while preparing. In an “aha!” moment, Meredith realized that all days are meant to be equal. She built a system to stop beating herself up. The Ch'eghwetsen Point System is a habit building system that is gentle. It's not meant to be self-critical. Instead, it builds sustaining behaviors that make you feel healthy and happy.
Working with corporate clients I have developed my own 100-point LinkedIn profile audit score that looks at 20 different areas of a LinkedIn profile. And, year in and year out, most professionals underperform in these 10 areas.Listen in for some tangible and actionable LinkedIn profile advice!Key Highlights [02:23] LinkedIn Profile Completeness[03:30] Social Selling Index[04:09] What Social Selling Index Does?[05:21] My 100 Point System[07:26] Searching for People[08:00] Top 10 Areas Where Majority of Professionals Underperform[08:55] Personalized URL[11:15] Creator Mode[15:10] Featured Section[16:31] Past Company Experience[20:29] Concept of Waiting[21:44] Volunteering/Organizations[24:03] 5 First Priority Areas[24:16] Professional Summary[26:20] Write Your Professional Summary in First Person[28:31] Publish More Content on Linkedin![31:09] Current Company Experience[31:59] Gain Recommendations[33:27] SummaryNotable QuotesI'm finding that a majority of employees, and these are generally primarily sales-focused people, they are falling short, in pretty much the same 10 areas, year in and year out every time I do this. This proprietary methodology that I think really brings your LinkedIn profile into alignment with the high performers in your industry. And as you all know, all roads on LinkedIn lead to your profile. That's why it's so critical that you get it right. The LinkedIn profile is almost like your second website. In fact, if you do not have a website, your LinkedIn profile pretty much is your own website. And that's why you want to make sure that your profile is up to par.I always say claim your personal URL before someone with a similar name does.I would bet that LinkedIn by limiting you to high five hashtags, it's really saying that you specialize. You're an expert in these areas, and therefore, when you publish content around those areas, it would make sense that maybe it gets a little bit more priority than people that don't have those hashtags that are publishing content with those hashtags.LinkedIn is an inbound marketing tool, the more data you give it, the more places that you said you worked, the more keywords you can add in those places, the broader the connections you can make with other people. It was my wife who said, you know, all those past relationships that you have, add up to who you are today. They've made you who you are today, they are a part of you. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. I would say about all your past experiences, add up to who you are. And you never know when that past experience is going to come in handy. By putting volunteering/organizations in your profile, you're not only building that potential data point that helps connect with someone. But it's this point of relatability. Introduce yourself, like you would, as if you were speaking with someone. And that will make your LinkedIn profile, all the more impactful.Learn More:Join My Digital First Mastermind: https://nealschaffer.com/membership/ Learn about My Fractional CMO Consulting Services: https://nealschaffer.com/cmoDownload My Free Ebooks Here: https://nealschaffer.com/freebies/Subscribe to my YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/nealschafferAll My Podcast Show Notes: https://podcast.nealschaffer.com

Noreen and Jamie like "Harry Potter." Kind of, like, a lot. But not as much as their first-ever real (sorry friends) guests, Alyssa and Ken, the brother-sister team behind the "Time-Turner Podcast: Harry Potter In-Depth." In this ~magical~ episode, the girls (plus Ken) dive deep into the points system at Hogwarts which, for the record, makes no sense whatsoever, fictional universe or not. Are we really giving 11-year-old kids only 10 points for taking down a whole-ass troll but taking away 50 for some casual mischief? C'mon, J.K. Regardless, crack open a butterbeer and chat with us while we use our time turner to go back and analyze the point system throughout the entire Harry Potter series.Articles Referenced:Harry Potter Fandom WikiPottermore / AV Club ChartMuggleNet.com ArticleTime Turner: Harry Potter In Depth Podcast Apple PodcastsTime Turner Twitter
