“Die zertanzten Schuhe,” or “The Shoes That Were Danced to Pieces” was first published in 1815 in the second volume of tales collected by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. It's usually translated into English as “The Twelve Dancing Princesses.” In this one I DO NOT burn my marshmallow (YAY!) and celebrate by making a Thin Mint … Continue reading "The Shoes that Were Danced to Pieces"
The trio is back on the mic and Dialing Up all the heat in Episode 153.From running up Sleeper picks to roasting each other over Girl Scout cookies, BariBeatz, King Muse, and JWest4Life keep it raw and hilarious while unpacking some real sports talk. They dive into NFL free agency, Deebo's trade to the Commanders, and break down how Devante Adams may have fumbled the bag chasing a “reunion.” Ain't no rebuilds over here—just cap space and tough truths. They take it back to the high school grind—talking about combine flukes, missed scholarship chances, and how weight and wingspan were holding the real dogs back. It's time for Joel, Kent, and Zack to speak about the solicitors we seek out each selling season: Girl Scout Cookies! On this episode of Baconsale, we'll be talking about Thin Mints, sounding off on Samoas (a.k.a. Caramel deLites), and debating about Do-si-dos (a.k.a. Peanut Butter Sandwiches). As we rate each of the 12 types of cookies we acquired, we will do our best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what we say and do. We'll also discuss some cookie controversies, utilize Baconscience, reveal which treats are (not-so) secretly vegan, and occasionally talk like grandmas. Press play to hear an on-air taste test and discover which of us is scared of coconut flakes.

Happy Tuesday to our new listeners and our true listeners. We’re back after a fun-filled weekend. Demaris & Rory were outside engaging in grown up degeneracy - Freddie Gibbs and well curated cocktails, and planning for their vacation next week. Meanwhile, Playboi Carti was busy proving them wrong about his superstar status after his highly-anticipated album dropped over the weekend, breaking streaming numbers. This leads into a conversation about SZA breaking another streaming record, and why artis from the past shouldn’t be compared to artists from now in regards to numbers. Dreamville’s final lineup dropped - we discuss who we would want to see on the bill, and which of us would even be allowed on the premises. After we, of all people, lecture Rolling Stone on journalistic integrity after a hiccup on their part, we discuss SXSW’s transition from just tech into music, and how it affected the underground music scene. Speaking of impact, the Girl Scouts of America are making a different kind of money while running a different kind of racket, and since no one will address it - we do. We also have a voicemail from a Rory Type Beat, that has us make some corrections about interracial dating, and black culture itself in America.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The cookies may be delicious, but the Girl Scout Cookie Program is about more than just the Thin Mints and Caramel Delights - it's also about building confidence and learning new skills.
Haily Sundet, our Froggy Wine Specialist, of Republic National Distributing is back with another episode of Wine Wednesday. Wine Wednesday is sponsored by Bottle Barn Liquors, with 3 Fargo locations. Because it is Girl Scout Cookie season, we are going to pair wines with cookies. This week's wine and cookie: Duckhorn Merlot with the Thin Mint cookie This wine opens with an alluring nose of floral notes and dark red berries, characteristic of a quintessential Napa Valley Merlot. The palate is supple and polished with a seamless integration of fruit and tannin, enhanced by the inclusion of Cabernet Sauvignon and a hint of Cabernet Franc. The long, vibrant finish highlights meticulous craftsmanship and perfect balance. This week's wine and cookie: Placido Moscato d’Asti and Toffee Tastic Intense and fruity aroma typical of Muscat with hints of acacia flowers and citrus peel. Taste: Sweet and fresh, with hints of honey and peaches in syrup. Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with a wide range of desserts including jam tarts, cheesecakes and cookies. Moscato d’Asti also pairs well with salami, hard cheeses, spicy dishes and shellfish.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo
The opposing forces of the yin and the yang are alive and well in 2025: Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni; TikTok and the Absence of TikTok; Emilia Perez and Good Taste. With the dizzying start to the year that has many of us stress-eating Thin Mints and Taco Bell while practicing scream-therapy techniques into our pillows, we'd like to devote this week's episode to helping you cast off 2025's discordant yolk of asymmetry and find the true inner balance that was previously only achievable with vagina eggs and bee sting enemas. As living embodiments of the yin and the yang, Trixie and Katya subscribe to the theory that opposing forces can negate each other while simultaneously combining to form a new, more powerful entity that redefines what it means to be "c*nty." A "Megac*nt," if you will. This year, discover true inner balance through purposeful c*ntiness. It's the month of love! Try the natural power of hemp with VIIA today! Frank Murphy is joined by his friend Becca James, the girl with two first names. Becca went on a business trip to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. She saw several parades and received lots of beads. For Christmas, Becca got a purse that looks like a fanny pack. She wore it on her chest at Mardi Gras to prevent being pickpocketed. This episode is sponsored by BoneZones.com (don't forget the S). Buy books and other merchandise autographed by Body Farm founder Dr. Bill Bass at https://bonezones.com/ including Body Farm t-shirts. Contact BoneZones to hire Frank to give a presentation about Dr. Bass and the Body Farm. Becca asks Frank what he's doing for Lent. Frank points out that Lent appears to last 46 days but that the six Sundays don't count. He saved a bundt cake to eat on a Sunday. Frank's wife Jere hasn't bought any Girl Scout cookies because of Lent, but they plan to get a Thin Mint concrete at Andy's Frozen Custard. Becca's father came to visit. She took him to see WDVX's Blue Plate Special broadcast from Barley's. She wanted to take him to several of the local microbreweries but he gives up alcohol for Lent every year. He lives on a small ranch outside Austin, Texas. He brought some venison for Becca's family. Frank has ringing in his ears. He discovered that the noise goes away for a day or two when he takes a generic acetaminophen with diphenhydramine capsule. Becca urges him to see a doctor. It's the time of year when several of Frank's friends send him photos of Marshmallow Peeps displays in stores. Frank appreciates that the Peeps reminded them of him. He generally is not interested in flavored Peeps but would try S'mores Peeps. His daughter recommends Dr Pepper flavored Peeps. Frank's wife sent a bitmoji of herself with a frog on Leap Day but didn't look closely enough at the image. We dove deep into the world of therapy, discussing the importance of addressing personal traumas, even micro traumas, and how they can impact our relationships and dating experiences.Key Highlights:Valentine's Day Vibes: This week's cocktail is a simple glass of pink champagne, perfect for Valentine's Day, and sent out good vibes to both couples and singles.Girl Scout Cookies: There was a light-hearted debate about the best types of Girl Scout cookies, again, with a clear preference for Samoas and Trefoils over Thin Mints.YouTube and Patreon: We reminded our listeners to check out our YouTube videos, subscribe, and join our Patreon for exclusive content, including a recent live session with a sexy massage expert.Trauma and Relationships: Mikaela shared her journey into sex therapy and trauma work, emphasizing how unresolved personal traumas can significantly affect romantic relationships. The Importance of Individual Therapy: She highlighted the value of individual sessions in therapy, where clients often reveal deeper issues affecting their relationships.Matchmaking Insights: Mikaela discussed her role in Upper Echelon Matchmaking, where she assesses clients for trauma and helps them prepare for healthy relationships.Weird Sex News: We shared a shocking story about a woman who took drastic action against her husband for his alleged involvement with a minor.Trauma Types: Mikaela explained the spectrum of traumas, from major life-changing events to micro-traumas that can subtly erode self-esteem over time.Therapy and Self-Work: We discussed the importance of working on oneself, whether single or in a relationship, and how therapy should be a proactive choice rather than a last resort.Pleasure Profile Assessment: Mikaela introduced the Pleasure Profile Assessment, a tool designed to help individuals understand their sexual preferences and improve their sex lives. Kiki and Medinah both took the assessment ahead of the show and Mikaela explains their results.Sex Education and Pleasure: We touched on the need for better sex education, particularly around the topic of pleasure, and how societal norms can hinder women's sexual enjoyment.Whitley Gilbert and Chi's Cameos: Kiki and Medinah's dog-ters were on set today and let their personalities shine, well barkListener Engagement: We encouraged our audience to reflect on their own experiences with trauma and pleasure, and to seek therapy or self-help resources if needed.Remember, whether you're in a relationship or navigating the single life, it's crucial to address your traumas, communicate openly about your needs, and never stop working on being your best self.
