Video Version: https://youtu.be/NjiLMXCm2wA Jordan Peak is held in high regard by his peers across house and techno music. He first made his mark backwhen Pete Tong and DJMag tipped him as ‘one to watch'. He then went from strength-to-strength, in the studio and DJ booth becoming renowned for his finely crafted productions blending classic house and techno sounds with his own modern and distinctive twist. This hasculminated in Jordan gracing the decks of the world's best venues and parties including fabric, Mint Leeds,Rex Club, Studio 80, Pacha, Space and Electric Pickle. This saw Jordan gain staunch support from the house and techno elite Carl Cox, Disclosure, Gerd Janson, Groove Armada, Jamie Jones, John Digweed, Kerri Chandler, Marco Carola, Maya Jane Coles, Patrick Topping and Seth Troxler. With releases on some of the world's most esteemed imprints Bass Culture, One Records, Morris Audio. Robsoul and Saved Records. All the while gaining attention from premier dance publication Mixmag with not one but two tune of the month titles. Just as things really began to lift off Jordan he was hit with complications from the lung disease cystic fibrosis which thankfully settled but during this period of his life it had a knock on effect impacting his mental health and eventually forcing him to put the brakes on his burgeoning artist career...During his enforced sabbatical, Jordan rediscovered his passion for martial arts, alongside starting therapy tohelp with his mental health battles. After a few years off from music to address his physical and mental health, Jordan decided to start making music again and it was like a tap had been turned on and the creativeideas came flowing out again. With Jordan's passion reignited he sent some music across to Timmy P and Devstar's label Make You Move and in the summer of 2022 he released his smash ‘Less Drama, More Party EP' receiving support for severalmonths from BBC Radio 1 heavyweights Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Sarah Story. Now after a prolonged hiatus Jordan Peak is back with a renewed strength and determination to bring his inspiring crossover house and techno sound to the masses. This includes launching his own imprint Peak Trax, a creative outlet for Jordan to showcase his own brand of house and techno. Nail's first gigs as a DJ were at school, offering to save the school money instead of booking the local mobile disco. He played for free, spinning early house classics (and the odd Erasure remix). It's in his bones... He eventually started playing the clubs in his hometown of Nottingham in the early 90s, including sets at the legendary DiY events at places like The Marcus Garvey Centre. His first release came on the DiY comp Strictly 4 Groovers on WARP records in 1993, the now classic track Cassiopeia. The Beeston EP followed in 1994, the first of a number of EPs for DiY, as well as his debut album Big D's Lounge in 1996. A remix for Inner City was also a highlight of this busy mid 90s period. Nail has since had records and remixes with Classic, Robsoul and Mosaic among many more, including his own label 89:Ghost, started in 2014. After taking time out from house music to focus on Bent, with Simon Mills, he returned to DJing in mid 2010s, playing all over Europe at venues such as Fabric, Tresor and Metronome. He has new tracks coming out soon on labels such as Bid Musik, Groovphoria and Odour Recordings, and it's with great pleasure we welcome him into the SB guest mix series. "It's all stuff from this year, some heavy dub stuff and some melodic bits too!"
Run it Red's 100th Episode is here and, to switch things up, my Discoid/House alias Ron Bacardi takes over with a much-requested Dj set recording, this one from DJ Bone's excellent Further party a few weeks back. In eight years I've chalked up nearly 240hrs of music, dropped about 7000 new tracks and we're still going strong, something I'm immensely proud of. The show has always been about showcasing the best new music I can find, so huge thanks to the artists, labels and promo companies who send me music, I'm aware of how big a privilege it is to get so much great stuff on top of my own digging. Massive thanks to the mighty NTS too, it's wicked to be a regular on such a forward-thinking station and be part of a family that includes so many great DJs and selectors, but the biggest appreciation of all goes to the listeners, those who give me feedback when they see me on the road and especially the ones who go out and support the labels/artists they hear on the show. Much love to all, and I hope you enjoy the RB set this month. The house talent pouring out of Australia doesn't seem to be letting up at the moment, and this week's guestmix from Sondrio serves to reinforce the antipodean ranks further still. With forthcoming releases on Closer To Truth, as well as his own label +ROMANTICS in the coming months, be sure to keep your ears tuned towards this rising star.

Housepedia Podcasts #HomeIsWhereHouseIsPlaying 29 I Human By Nature More than 15 years as a dj have matured Raúl's sound with his new project called Human By Nature. A long career on the scene as a promoter, owner of clubs and bars in his city Zacatecas have contributed to a very special musical profile that he transmits on dancefloor. His music is inspired by the classic house and the old sample techniques, drums with a lot of swing, jazz chords and dirty grooves, which have formed a very own sound. He also uses this perspective in his dj sets, always trying to make contrasts between more sophisticated sounds up to acid house. In this way he has managed to attract the attention of different producers such as Phil Weeks and sign in labels like: Robsoul Recordings, Late Night Jackin, Deeplomatic Recordings, etc. His last production on Robsoul got in the Jackin House chart reaching the top 20 and stayed in for two weeks. He is also the founder of Fonica, the leading brand of electronic music events in his city Zacatecas, Mexico. Which has promoted parties for more than 6 years in addition to continuing giging out to cities such as CDMX, Playa del Carmen, Oaxaca, etc. Info about the artist: @humanbynature Submit your mixtape: housepediamusic.online/submissions/ Listen on Apple: podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/home…ng/id1523865206 Merchandise: teespring.com/stores/housepedia-music
This one is special. It's a pleasure for us to have him in our podcast series. Lebedev(RU) - Maxim Lebedev, who was born in the city of Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine in 1992 and now lives in Russia. From early childhood he began to get involved in electronic music. Thanks to his older brother, he listened to The Chemical Brothers. At an older age, he began to listen Daft Punk and all French house. At school, he listened to house music and dreamed of doing something similar. At the age of 16, the first attempts to write house music appeared. But the first fruits appeared only in 2010. Since then, he began to make house music and with each new release he tried to improve his skills. In 2015, the label Red Factory was created, on which exclusively copyright tracks from Maxim Lebedev were published. At the moment, he is actively publishing his tracks on various major labels in the underground environment: Large Music, Downtown Underground, Moiss Music, Robsoul, Doin Work, Piston, No Fuss, Nurvous, Blacksoul, Purveyor Underground and others. Demarkus Lewis has an impressive discography, working with great labels including Lost My Dog, Slip n Slide, Moiss, Panhandle, Large Music, Nightshift Records, Brique Rouge, Robsoul, Viva and more. Thought the years he has kept true to his roots in the underground sound - deep soulful house or the heaviest of techno/tech-house outings. Rated for his ability to go deep while keeping the energy on the dance floor. In 2005 Demarkus launched Grin Music as his home base label. Grin began as a deep house label and has morphed into a blend of house and techno. Track listing: www.untitledmusic.org/demarkus-lewis-mix.html

DJ, producer and label owner with groove in his blood. Also a family man with a great heart. He lives just outside Frankfurt, but is not a mainstream kind of person. The atmosphere and the vibe of his tracks are intended to carry this mood into the clubs, onto dancefloors or anywhere you hear it. He had achieved a lot in the last years. Maximum, possibly. And that manifests his brilliancy. Modern techhouse, sharpened with swing, groove, and some typical „M.in humor“. Unlike many others he can successfully put basically any sound into his tracks. He pairs deep bass-drum with Afrobeat, Latin or popular swinging jazz. He has convinced some of the greatest in the industry of his genius and became a „big one“ himself. Releases on renowned labels like OFF REC., DESOLAT, SOUVENIR, GET PHYSICAL, KD MUSIC, TRAPEZ LTD., ROBSOUL, PLAY IT DOWN, BAR 25, SYSTEMATIC RECORDING and OM RECORDS followed. He remixed Radio Slave, Marc Romboy and various other artists. He is constantly pushing and promoting his own labels, MY FAVOURITE FREAKS MUSIC and WEPLAYMINIMAL. His quote and credo: a track needs vibe. In addition, his new album is full of vibes. www.facebook.com/M.in.fanpage pro.beatport.com/artist/m-in/97386 @m-in www.residentadvisor.net/dj/m.in

Cockney Lama was born and bred in Greece, in the city of Thessaloniki. These days he is living in Hackney, East London. Always being passionate for music, he begun his travel through the sounds at the age of 14 by forming his own band with other friends-musicians. He then started spinning his Jackin n classic house sounds in the 90’s, after being inspired by many acknowledged DJ’s such as Alister Whitehead, Carl Cox, DJ Sneak, Tall Paul, A guy called Gerald and many more. Currently working as a music producer, he has releases on Robsoul, Henry Street Music and Monique Musique. DJ Mag heaped high praise on his single ‘Losing Like A Man’, “A glorious piece of electronic composition. Moody, techy, atmospheric, glisteningly-produced, ‘Losing Like A Man’ is that type of house that you hear all too little of these days. A brilliant release, and no mistake.” Subscribe with iTunes - https://apple.co/1MQQ5meSubscribe with RSS - https://imahousegangster.libsyn.com/ When we sat down with Cockney we asked how does this mix represent you as an artist to which he explained, “this podcast has a mixture of my own tracks with old school and also a bit of jacking! And that's what my sound is. I am jacking old school groovy house.” He went on to explain the House Gangster movement “has been an inspiration ever since I got deep into house music, and now I consider myself a part of the movement.” https://www.imahousegangster.comhttps://www.facebook.com/imahousegangsterhttps://www.instagram.com/imahousegangster https://www.twitter.com/imhousegangster
DJ Nonfiction orchestrates Episode 73 of the Gangstercast. A 10 year resident at the world renowned club Focus in Newport Beach, and a regular addition to the LA underground warehouse scene. An established producer who has remixed for Cajmere, Green Velvet, Colette, Miss Honey Dijon. He also has Vinyl releases on Robsoul and Bump Music (Australia), and several digital releases on such labels as Cajual, Relief, Robsoul, Farriswheel, Lost My Dog, DJ Sneak's Oomph Recordings, Candy Music and more. When speaking with Nonfiction we asked how this mix represents him as an artist and he answered, “this mix represents a lot of my influences and different styles that I like. Some of the new stuff, some of the older stuff, and then some obscure music that's a little more ‘left field’. I like lot's of different sounds and styles of music, and this 2 hour mix encompasses that.” “Special shout out to Sneak and IAHG, I appreciate and respect you guys - lots of love to everybody who supports me.” - DJ Nonfiction www.imahousegangster.comwww.facebook.com/imahousegangsterwww.instagram.com/imahousegangsterwww.twitter.com/imhousegangsterwww.soundcloud.com/im-a-house-gangster

A real nice hook up from the good people over at Kling Klong Records, with Jaymo & Andy George taking over the latest episode of SlimCast. A quick look through the shelves of J&AG's studio reveals a 15 year obsession with electronic music; from King Street, Locked On, Force Inc and Roule to Robsoul, Kompakt, 20:20 and City Rockers - it's a nostalgic documentation of their transition from bedroom DJ's to two of the scene's most dedicated players. Their Moda Black record label has become one of the UK's most acclaimed imprints, gaining worldwide notoriety for releasing high quality, interesting and forward-thinking electronic music. With a strong focus on emerging artists, the label's back-catalogue spans from Hot Since 82, Mia Dora and Danny Daze to Tim Green, Eats Everything and Groove Armada. As producers in their own right, Jaymo & Andy George have remixed for Pets, OFF Recordings, Defected and Gomma, whilst focusing on Moda Black for their original music. Tracks such as 'Remember', 'Guess Who' and 'Tales From The Basement' have achieved widespread support from the likes of Catz n Dogz, Scuba, Pete Tong and many more. Their obsessive approach to finding new music has lead to numerous radio appearances, from their much praised Essential Mix in May 2013 to taking-over Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show on numerous occasions. The boys also present a weekly show on America's leading dance music station Evolution. With the Moda Black Album now in its third year, the recently launched Little Black Book series, their soon-to-launch Futurists project, monthly EP releases, We Love… Space, Ibiza residency and pan-European Moda Black parties, it's safe to say Jaymo & Andy George are busy boys right now. TBF is up for Gangstercast 40 and is introduced by DJ Sneak: "There’s this kid called TBF from Romania, he’s 19 years old, and he’s coming up with some of the toughest house sh!t that I’ve heard from Europe, Eastern bloc Europe, you know what I’m saying, these people just now got decks and parties and sh!t you know. So this guy is 19, he’s making some really really good stuff. Jackin’, energetic, it’s not techno, it’s not electro, its straight house" (DJ Sneak interview for Getthecurse.com 2008) Growing up with Cassius, Armand van Helden, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Roger Sanchez, it's no wonder that TBF remained loyal to house music, after experimenting with other genres. It's not hard to define his style - jazz influences, soul, funk and disco are always present. This style has found its way onto esteemed underground labels including Robsoul, Minority, Oomph and Jump picking up plays from House legends such as DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and Phil Weeks. The Romanian DJ and producer talks about the House Gangster ethos, “House music puts together world music with electronic music in a way that offers absolute freedom. That's what house music is to me: a bridge, a sonic one! Being a gangster is all about attitude. You can have any sound you want, but only one attitude!” Discussing his mix, he adds, “I tried to find tracks I never really got the chance to play or they remained “hidden” for a long time, may they be new or old. I think that a DJ set should always be like a story, things have to happen in order to be interesting. And i like to make things interesting. Nothing extra to mention about this mix, as I believe that’s one of house music’s side effects: you don't feel special, you feel humble, always feelings like "that special" set is still waiting to be discovered.”
Chilean DJ and producer, Andre Butano, is a rising star both in his homeland and on the international house music scene. Originally working as a chef in some of Santiago’s finest restaurants his love of music gradually took him into new career. It was a good move, as his productions - released on labels including Kling Klong, 8bit, Anhura, Melisma, Brise, Amam, Robsoul and Natural Rhythm - have picked up plays from Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Brett Johnson, C-rock and Tobi Neumann. As resident at several parties in Chile, including Club La Feria, Andre’s experience on the decks shines through in his Gangstercast, which he describes, “I choose my music for people to have fun, my identity is the basslines: fat, always with groove, percussion, synths, vocals and energetic rhythms.” The tracks in the mix cover, “old sounds with more modern things, things from friends and artists I like. I try to give a Chilean flavor.” Andre explains that the mix was recorded, “100% live, with 3 CDJs from Club la Feria of which I am the resident” and adds, “I’m very proud of being invited to participate in this podcast of the master DJ Sneak. It is really a honor. Chile has lots of love to all those House Ganster addicts and now I already consider myself to be a South American HOUSE GANGSTER. I am try to educate a new generations in my country with House style. In Chile we are still playing with vinyl, old school house and very underground music. I am very proud to be the first Chilean artist to represent this movement, love it!!!

A mainstay of the Portland and Seattle scenes since the late 90's, Pacific Northwest native Trevor Vichas has entertained audiences with his mesmerising blend of house, garage, and techno meets jazz, disco, and hip hop; warm rolling basslines, hypnotic chord progressions, and soulful vocals that speak with a message of love. It’s a sound showcased here on his Gangstercast as Trevor explains, “This mix represents me as an artist in how I move though various house sounds creating a forward moving mix that keeps you shaking that ass and guessing what I am going to play next. The mix is on the deeper soulful of house that I play.” “The process for choosing the tracks to make my Gangstercast took a few days. When I selected the tracks for this mix, the thought in mind was to play timeless music. I started with a pile of some of my new favorite tracks from the last couple of years, some classic tunes that I love to play, and some of my selected production work that I am personally in love with. After that it took a couple of long sessions to weed out some tracks and add some others in. I had about 80 tracks laid out to play and what got mixed in the first two hours was my final mix.” Since completing his first tracks in 2008, Trevor’s productions have appeared in the playlists of heavy-hitters such as Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Iz & Diz, Phil Weeks, Hector Morales and DJ Heather. Labels including Robsoul, Flatpack, Phobic and countless others have all commissioned Trevor for original music and remixes. The names above will leave you in no doubt that Trevor Vishas is a bonafide House Gangster! He comments, “The house gangster movement to me is about being down for house 110% all day everyday. I have seen a lot of people coming in and out of house music, and then play whatever is a trending to get a gig. It really boils down to being dedicated to house music for life, not giving up and being true to house music! House music is very much a spiritual thing to me. Whether I am listening, playing or working in the studio on beats, there is a feeling that emanates from me when house is involved. It has become a way of life to me and I am able to express my inner most feeling though the music I play and produce.” “Damn it feels good to be a gangster.”
With releases on Shaboom, Magnetic, Robsoul, DJ Sneak Classics, and his own Cross Section Records amongst several others, London DJ / producer Chris Simmonds, aka Kidsmart, House Proud People, Smooth & Simmonds, Retro Emotion, Private Funk and Bakers Dozen is one of the long-standing veterans of underground house music and a true House Gangster. Earning his stripes in the 1980's working for Time Radio in London and running Wax Factory Records, meeting and engineering for the likes of Carl Cox, Colin Dale and Rocky (X-Press 2). It was a release on Richie Hawtin's Definitive Records that really kick started things however, and led to the birth of Cross Section Records. Chris says his mix for the Gangstercast represents him as an artist because, "I like to take risks, keeps things varied and keep the music tight. I think all those boxes are ticked on this mix." Talking about his approach for the mix he adds, "Usually before I do a mix I play for a about 15mins and see how I feel. If I feel right I simply press record and play and every track is the mood I'm in at that moment. By the time I've checked myself again I've playing for nearly 2hrs, job done and something different on the end to close. The moment was captured and delivered to you by one of the best djs you've never heard!" "House music is a very big part of my life. I wouldn't have seen so much of the world, experienced different cultures and had some of the best times of my life without House music. No matter where my production career takes me I will never stop making and supporting House. The House Gangster sound is underground, not watered down or commercialised in any way." http://www.imahousegangster.comhttp://www.crosssectionmusic.com http://www.thewhiteroomentertainment.com
Jade Cox' signature house, jacking, and acid sounds make their way to the Gangstercast, and she takes the title of being our first female guest. Jade's inspiration comes from the likes of inspiration from the likes of stellar house labels/brands Robsoul, We The Brand and I'm a House Gangster. She is well established as a performer all around the UK, including countless gigs in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Antrim. She can also be found spinning weekly on Chicago House FM, and having recently released her debut EP for Robsoul Recordings, thing are coming together very nicely for this talented young lady. The Gangstercast gives a glimpse into Jade's record box and inspirations, and featured some of her own unreleased material. She says, "the mix represents some of the styles from the past that influence my sound now, all sides of house music that inspire me. I went through my vinyl collection and dug out some of my favourite tracks that I thought would sit nicely together with a few current tracks. I wanted to create a timeless feel for this mix, something a bit different." Often photographed in her 'I'm A House Gangster' t-shirt, Jade is clearly a dedicated player in the cause: "The House Gangster sound to me is real, underground house music. Solid drums and raw, jackin vibes. The whole HG movement means a lot to me as it brings people together from across the world who have a genuine passion for real underground house music. As DJ's, we don't follow a trend, we play from the heart. It's about keeping that true house sound alive. House music is an everyday thing for me, I work on my music every day, and it's something I've wanted to make my career for a long time. It means so much to me."
David Glass is our guest for episode 18 of the Gangstercast - a UK based artist with an impressive discography taking in releases on Circus, Robsoul, Magnetic, Crossworld and NiteGrooves among many others. Hailing from Liverpool, David says that "the clubbing scene is a big thing there and helped me get into House. Going to nights such as Circus inspired me to DJ and make music. There's nothing better than seeing everyone happy on a dance floor listening to house music and i've been lucky to meet most of friends through House music!" David's style reflects what the House Gangster sound means to him "Old school, underground, funky, jackin house music!" and he adds that, "The House Gangster movement means a lot to me because it keeps the people who love house music together and shows the newer generation such as myself what real house music is. The DJ's and artists involved have always stuck to their roots and not followed any trends, which I respect a lot." "The tracks in the mix represent me as an artist because I love the old school sound of house music. How it should be played! In my sets I stick to playing underground house music with a groove, as you can hear in this mix. The tracks on this mix are tracks i've been playing a lot, some older than others. some of these tracks are from labels and artists who have inspired me over the years to play this sort of music and produce it. The special thing about this mix is being asked to be involved in the House Gangster movement. I really appreciate it!"
UK-based DJ, producer and record label head, Owen Howells, is currently touring Australia with upcoming gigs in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. Regarded as “part Aussie”, Howells grew up on our beautiful shores throughout most of his teen years. Owen’s record label Shades Recordings (formerly Shades of Grey) is described as “forward thinking music with its foundations set in the past”. Shades has garnered support from the likes of Mary Anne-Hobbs, Kerri Chandler, MANDY, Gavin Herlihy, Luke Solomon and George Fitzgerald right through to some of techno’s finest innovators and purists such as Eric Cloutier, Voigtmann & Bruno. Originally, Shades of Grey was an event in Brixton between Howells and a bunch of pals, which morphed into a record label after years of hard work. The concept of this event continued into their record label, which meant they were not bounded by any one genre. This allowed them to explore techno, house and any other electronic music genre that dealt in low-end bass. When he’s not busy in the studio, you’ll likely find Howell’s digging for rare grooves, as he’s a self-confessed vinyl junkie. Already toured Czech Republic, Malta, Berlin and North America, Owen is off to Japan after his Australian tour. Next Saturday, 6th September 2013, starting from 2pm, you can catch Owen playing at We’rehaus at Sydney’s Red Bull HQ in Alexandria. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Arturo Garces has been surrounded by dance music his entire life. The son of a serious collector of funk, soul and disco records, Arturo grew up listening to the roots of house music. These early influences are evident in his works as a DJ and producer today where his music has helped define the unique and emerging Silicon Valley sound. Arturo has released music on both established & strictly underground labels including Robsoul, Cross Section, Magnetic Oomph, Smoke City Music, Subliminal Soul, Sneak Classics and many more, not forgetting releasing on and working as label manager for Jump Recordings, Beat Bum Music and Resource Records. He's also licensed tracks to high-profile compilations such as Fabric #62 mixed by DJ Sneak. Regarding his Gangstercast, Arturo simply states that his mix is, "my vision of how a dance floor should get worked. The House Gangster sound for me is all about driving beats. A beat down if you will. It?s all about movement on the dance floor. I pretty much picked out some tracks that were moving me at the moment. If I was on the dance floor, this is what I would want to hear." He's a devotee to the House Gangster ethos, "The House Gangster movement to me is all about keeping the true house sound alive. House Music has always kept me moving in the right direction. I live this day and night 24/7. It means the world to me." "Thank you to my family and friends for the inspiration. Big ups to DJ Sneak and the IAHG fam for having me on the Gangstercast!"
Gangstercast 11 comes from one of the closest House Gangster's we've had since the movement started - Hector Moralez. Rising from Oakland, California, Hector Moralez has paid his dues by working tirelessly from the bottom up. Now in demand at clubs and events throughout the world, he is renowned for his intelligent and soul awakening house music. His music has been found on many stellar labels including Robsoul, Music For Freaks, Nightshift, Detour, Vista, Brique Rouge, Magnetic, Doubledown and Lowdown Music. His collaboration with Phil Weeks as Fries & Bridges caused a big stir in underground house circles and his latest collaboration with Chris Carrier as Lotus Seven was released earlier this year on hyped French imprint Apollonia. Hector also manages his own distinguished underground labels, Minority Music and The Factory. Gangstercast 11 is a live recording of Hector in Northern Ireland: "I just played what I thought would keep the people on the floor non stop. The people were well up for it! They were ready to have a belter of a night. I played a couple of my own productions, tested some new tracks out and played one of the tracks off of the "Lotus Seven" album with Chris Carrier as well. It was a really great night, and I'm happy to be able to share it to everyone now through this podcast. I think people should listen to this mix, burn it for a house party with your best friends, at your mom's house, whatever, maybe even an after party, and just DANCE. Don't worry about what anyone else is doing. Just get down, and move, people!!" A bonafide House Gangster from the start, Hector is well placed to give his take on how the movement has developed: It started out small and keeps on growing and growing! It's a way to support the people behind the brand, and show some love. We're all part of this dance music community and supporting each other, is the only way to keep it really alive. House is a minority in the big picture of EDM, Dance Music, whatever you wanna call it, so I think the HG sound is something you don't have to think about, it's always gonna be HOUSE. And hopefully the wide range of audiences will take the chance and see whats up with the soul and vibe that makes House Music one of the BEST."
Belgian DJ and producer Massimo DaCosta is responsible for episode 8 of the Gangstercast. Since the early 2000's Massimo and production partner Vernon Bara, under the name Vernon&DaCosta, have become one of the most prolific House duo's around with releases for top labels like OM, Yellow, Aroma, Robsoul, Amenti, DIY, AMA Rec, OFF and Icon. In 2010 they launched their own label Homecoming Music working with some of the world's finest underground house producers, and 2013 see's them launch a new alias 'Raw District' torelease their deeper and darker influenced House sound. When he’s not focusing his energy on studio work, Massimo can be found performing quality deep and house sets at his H20 residency in Belgium and all around the world. Massimo says his mix for the Gangstercast is, "a perfect mixture of what I'm feeling and playing at the moment: deep or more punchy house tunes with a fine combination of white soul and black music." As with most of the Gangstercasts there was no huge pre-planning, Massimo just got in the mix and went with the flow. Of the end result he simply says, "I hope people will enjoy the mix as much as I did doing it." Speaking of House music and the I'm A House Gangster movement he adds, "House Music is the only thing that can make you smile when you are all sad or tired. You know what I mean? … IAHG is more a movement than just a musical concept or a label. A lifestyle, a way to express love for true house music and for oldschool street and urban values. It's not about criminals or violence, it's a reaction against bad and crappy mainstream electronic music."
Brazilian duo Anhanguera step up for episode 5 of the Gangstercast. Dudu Palandre and Décio Deep have been flying the flag for underground house music in Brazil since 2004 when they started to appear on labels including Robsoul, Oomph, Tango, Minority and their own Maracuja. They are now well established globally and tour with their self-styled "dirty, sexy, fat and groovy" sound. The duo say, "House music is our religion. We have always been loyal to house music, no matter what the fashion is", an ethos we respect to the full! Their exclusive mix for the Gangstercast was recorded without any prior planning: "We started mixing and choosing the tracks to build the right flow as if we were playing live. We tried to mix it all from deep to tech tracks, new and old stuff because the good house music is timeless and styleless."
