I went to Disney World and ended up diagnosing cartoon characters. From Mike Wazowski's lack of depth perception to Goofy's questionable eye anatomy and Winnie the Pooh's all pupil, no iris situation, I'm breaking down which Disney characters would absolutely fail a vision test. Plus, a quick dive into a real breakthrough from Stanford that might help restore sight lost to macular degeneration. It's ophthalmology meets Disney meets mild existential crisis. What more could you want? Takeaways: Why Mike Wazowski's single eye means he's missing half the picture. The serious ocular condition Goofy might secretly have (and why glasses won't fix it). Why Edna Mode needs cataract surgery yesterday. How Pixar's signature huge eyes would actually mean extreme myopia. The surprising Disney character who might have the healthiest eyes of them all. Welcome! In this podcast, I read three quotes which share two things in common. First, they speak of low attendance in the park and how empty things are. Second, they were all written in 2024. I could share with you several statements like these that emphasize how empty the parks are. To many it sounds like statements heard these last couple of months around both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. But statements like these are actually from 2024. Were they true? Well, the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) shared their annual Global Experience Index for 2024. We'll look at what it has to say, particularly as we study the Disney and Universal parks in both Florida and California. The findings may not only surprise you, but they are probably an indication of the kinds of numbers we're experiencing here. To that end, we'll talk about what Disney is doing about attendance to include new announcements Disney has made for America's 250th Anniversary. ________________________________________________________ Disney Insights YouTube Page--Check it out and subscribe. From HAL 9000 to Skynet, they trace the terrifying history of AI through pop culture and real-world innovation, asking whether we've already passed the point of no return. We look at early milestones like Alan Turing's theories and the rise of digital assistants, before diving into the modern AI revolution that's reshaping creativity, media, and human interaction. Then, we share our Top 5 most disturbing AI horror films. Stories that blur the line between human control and technological terror. In a creative twist, we debut a batch of original AI-generated horror concepts. Nightmarish tales like The Night Archivist, Static, and Insert Coin to Die, before challenging each other in a creepy guessing game of famous horror films. Between the mysterious AI hijacks, distorted sound clips, and tongue-in-cheek scares, this one's a digital screamfest from start to finish. Why do you absolutely think AI is the answer to all problems in the world? Who just typed that last line? It wasn't me! Let us know! First person that emails me with the subject line, “I for one bow down to our robot overlords” will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. http://www.attractionchecklist.com - It's time to take a daring airplane ride with Goofy as we head to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to ride The Barnstormer on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on May 21, 2025. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we visit Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom to ride The Barnstormer. The Walt Disney World website describes this attraction saying: Take flight above Storybook Circus with Goofy in a homemade stunt airplane for a thrilling junior roller coaster ride. Guests must be 35” or taller to ride this attraction. Before we take-off, here are five fast facts about The Barnstormer. 1. The Barnstormer is located in the Storybook Circus section of Fantasyland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The spot where the coaster is now used to belong to Grandma Duck's petting farm which was a petting zoo and home to the famous cow Minnie Moo. 2. The Barnstormer opened officially on October 1, 1996 in the renamed Toontown Fair section of Fantasyland. The story of the attraction was that Goofy was running a flight school on his farm. The ride's full name was The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm. 3. The attraction closed on February 12, 2011 as part of the Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom. 4. The ride reopened on March 12, 2012 as part of Fantasyland's Storybook Circus. The name was tweaked The Barnstormer featuring Goofy as The Great Goofini. 5. As you enter the attraction, turn and look at the back of the entrance sign. You'll see a set of red painted letters all jumbled up. When put together, these spell out Wiseacre Farm as a tribute to the previous attraction. Let's now ride the epic attraction that it The Barnstormer. Squeezing into the car with me is John B. deHaas and after we ride we'll give you our thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphone, put them on now as we ride The Barnstormer at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Join us for episode 463 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! This week on Theme Park Trader, we're doing something a little different — and possibly insane. We kick things off with not one, but two games: first, we try to guess the top five most purchased items in Walt Disney World, and then we move on to naming the largest theme parks in Florida (with varying degrees of confidence). After that warm-up, we dive straight into one of the most unintentionally hilarious corners of theme park fandom: the positive reviews of Fast & Furious: Supercharged. That's right — we've dug through the internet to find the people who genuinely love one of the most notoriously bad attractions in Orlando. Buckle up, because things are about to get Supercharged… with misplaced enthusiasm. A reminder, if you have any questions for us, send us a message on TikTok or Instagram.
TALK TO ME, TEXT ITHeadlines don't slow down to check themselves, so we do. We open with a surge of USO reports near U.S. waterways sourced from a popular UFO tracking app, then pressure-test the claims: how are sightings verified, who filters duplicates, and where are the named Navy officials behind the talk of national security risks? Big numbers feel convincing, but without methodology and corroboration, they can mislead more than they inform. From there, we turn to the hard-to-read string of recent deaths at Walt Disney World and the rush to publish without essential facts—cause, timeline, and official statements. Viral balcony videos, police tape, and cast members asking guests to avert their gaze feed a cycle where speculation fills every gap. We talk about how to read developing stories with care, why unrelated incidents shouldn't be joined into a single narrative, and how media restraint honors both truth and the people affected. Then we step into deep space, where a “Manhattan-sized” interstellar object triggers emergency monitoring, headlines about anti-tails and cometary tails, and hints of an extraterrestrial Trojan horse. We unpack what tails and anti-tails actually mean, why viewing geometry can create strange visuals, and where solid astronomy ends and hype begins. Being open to discovery doesn't mean settling for alarmist shortcuts; it means insisting on data, peer review, and proportional claims. If you're craving clarity on USOs, Disney news, and the latest cosmic mystery—without the panic—we've got you. Send us a textA Halloween drink in hand and 13 Disney nightmares on deck—this one leans delightfully spooky. We start with a DIY sangria riff worthy of Disney Springs: Pinot Noir softened by pear liqueur, Cointreau, apple juice, and those gummy eyeballs that stare back. Then we push straight into the chills and chuckles: stuck-ride purgatory with looping music, the sudden dread of being named Rebel Spy right after a Dole Whip, and the slow horror of a limited-edition popcorn bucket rolling into the crowd during fireworks, never to return. From there, we get bolder. Imagine outdoor-only queues with no shade or fans. Picture an app that nags you to book Lightning Lanes when all you want is to eat. Consider step limits that end your park day at 10,000 and turn zigzag lines into strategic minefields. And yes, we talk food—because nothing shakes a Disney loyalist like messing with snacks. How about fenced eating zones with 15-minute time caps? Or a property-wide pivot to pickle-flavored everything: churros, shakes, beignets, even a briny breakfast wrap. We also mourn the idea of beloved staples disappearing and debate what happens when the only ice cream is divisive. It's funny until it isn't.We keep it human with the small moments that sting: kids correcting your lore with absolute certainty, balloon-photo pileups that halt foot traffic, and the Skyliner pausing midair while strangers share your glass cube. We even let Figment judge our snack choices from the walls and joke about a Jar Jar mover ride that tests patience and canon. Under the laughs is a real point: the magic relies on freedom, variety, and tiny kindnesses that keep the day feeling effortless. Take those away, and the happiest place gets a little haunted. If you're here for theme park talk with humor, honesty, and a dash of Halloween, you're in the right place. Press play, sip something spooky, and tell us your own Disney nightmare. And hey—if you're enjoying the show, tap follow, share it with a park pal, and leave a quick review so more fans can find us.

We're taking our taste buds on a weekend adventure around Walt Disney World — from resort bites and zero-proof sips to full-on feasts and sweet endings. We kicked things off Thursday at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside, grabbing a bite before heading to Disney Springs for an evening of food and fun. Summer House on the Lake's zero-proof cocktails, like the Pineapple Kick and Sparkling Rosé Lemonade, are perfect examples of how non-alcoholic doesn't have to mean boring, although this trip the pizza did not quite hit the mark. From there, we couldn't resist a stop at Gideon's Bakehouse, where we tried seasonal sweets like the Bride of Frankenstein Cookie, the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie, and the PB & Jelly Cake.Friday's lineup was a true flavor rollercoaster. Between lemon pepper chicken tenders at Magic Kingdom and a trip off-property for Benihana's, our taste buds covered just about every texture and temperature possible. Saturday brought one of our favorite types of Disney days — eat, explore, repeat. From Karamel Küche's Caramel Gingerbread Cookie Sandwich to the hearty rolls at Ale & Compass, smoky brisket from The Polite Pig, and Indian-inspired flavors at EET by Maneet Chauhan, the variety was endless. Sunday wrapped things up on the sweetest note possible — cookies from Summer House, a relaxed meal at The Boathouse, and a festive finale at Scat Cat's Café with Ghoulish Beignets and an Agave Garden mocktail that proved Disney's zero-proof game is getting strong. From sugar highs to savory standouts, this weekend reminded us why Disney dining never gets old — there's always something new to taste, try, and talk about on Main Street Magic.
