It's Hump Day! Sam hosts Ian Millhiser, senior correspondent at Vox, to discuss the upcoming cases that will be before the Supreme Court this term. Sam starts off by touching on the recent revelations surrounding Tucker Carlson's text messages disclosed from the Dominion lawsuit, and how he still isn't buying that these are the reasons Fox ultimately let him go. Then, he touches on former Bush Attorney General and "Serious Person" Michael Mukasey's appearance at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, and how Mukasey, if he were a judge, wouldn't potentially ruin a friendship by not going on their private jet. Then Ian joins the program, with Sam and him starting off by discussing the Supreme Court writ large, in an attempt to pinpoint just how long the institution has been fundamentally broken (hit: dating back to the Dred Scott decision, so over 100 years.) They then touch on Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, the newest case the court has taken in their desperate attempts to gut the federal regulatory state. Ian also discusses the recent "judge-shopping" that's been going on, i.e. anti-abortion advocates angling to get their cases on abortion medication like mifepristone into Amarillo Texas judge and right-wing theocrat Matthew Kacsmaryk's courtrooms so he can ideally rule in their favor. They then talk about Glacier Northwest v. Teamsters, a potentially landmark case that could determine when and how workers are allowed to strike. Finally, Ian provides a bit of a primer on cases that will be decided on this term, including cases involving affirmative action, student loan forgiveness, and Moore v. Harper, the case surrounding the validity of "independent state legislature theory" deciding contests in presidential elections. And in the Fun Half, Sam and the MR Crew take a look at more of Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse's remarks from the Senate Judiciary Committee on Supreme Court ethics, Adam Conover calling out rich CEO's on CNN as the WGA strike continues, what Tucker Carlson actually said in that text that supposedly got him fired and how it compares to the standard racist fare that one of his possible successors, Jesse Watters, spews on a daily basis, and Abby Grossberg, his former producer, making clear that Fox News calls the shots for congressional Republicans. Specifically, I'll be discussing the ongoing battle to define the term 'freedom' in American politics. Democrats are accusing Republicans of trying to restrict personal freedoms, while Republicans claim they're protecting real freedom by standing against vaccine mandates, censorship, and indoctrination in schools. And if that wasn't enough drama for you, Tucker Carlson got fired recently! Oh boy, I'll definitely be getting into the theories about why that happened. The Dems are painting the Republicans' pro-freedom efforts as a personal attack on freedoms. How original! Republicans claim they're actually preserving personal freedom. Oh, the irony. Democrats seem to be winning the PR battle, despite Republicans' actual efforts to protect freedom. Tucker Carlson's firing exposes the deep ideological rifts in American politics. It's like the Hatfields and McCoys, but with suits and ties. Why did Tucker get the boot? Was it his views on Ukraine? His sexism? Or maybe it was just his religious faith that got him kicked to the curb. Let's not forget the $787.5 million settlement against Fox News over their election coverage and Tucker's role in it. Yikes. Abby Grossberg's harassment allegations against Carlson - is anyone really surprised? Oh, and let's not forget about Rupert Murdoch's thoughts on Tucker's religious beliefs. That's totally relevant, right? What does Tucker Carlson think about Ukraine? And how does that relate to his Fox News departure? We're dying to know. Is Tucker Carlson going to join OAN or Newsmax? Tune in next time to find out! Well, it looks like the battle to define freedom in American politics is far from over. And with newscasters getting fired left and right, it's getting harder and harder to know who to trust. Here's a list of fired newscasters to prove it: Tucker Carlson, Dan Rather, Keith Olbermann, Bill O'Reilly, Megyn Kelly, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer... the list goes on. So, who do we trust? Beats us! But one thing's for sure - it's definitely not the news. #freedomdebate #TuckerCarlson #politicaltheater #trustworthynews #Newscaster #themikeypodcast

The US news media was shaken up by the firing of Tucker Carlson from Fox News and Don Lemon from CNN. Back in Australia PM Albo had a tone-deaf Saturday by funding two stadiums in then flying to Kyle Sandilands wedding. I look at all the fallouts on Tim's News Explosion. Rumour has it that Victorian Premier Dan Andrews will retire mid-year. But Dan is not done building his legacy with legislation before parliament to make the North Richmond drug injecting room permanent. Consultation begins on a proposed second drug injection in the CBD near Flinders Street Station. The age of criminal responsibility will be lifted to 12 by the end of 2024 and to 14 by the end of 2027. There was a ratepayers' protest outside the latest Monash Council meeting over a planned drag queen storytime at Oakleigh Library on May 19 for IDAHOBIT Day. The Municipal Association of Victoria says that council meetings that are attended by activists should be moved online. The indoctrination appears to be working with a recent survey finding that one-third of Australia's youth identifying as LGBT. On Saturday Anthony Albanese first travelled to Hobart to announce $240 million in federal funding for a new AFL stadium at Macquarie Point, then to Launceston with $65 million for an upgrade to York Park as part of an AFL extortion operation so there will be a team based in Tasmania. Albo then flew back to Sydney to attend Kyle Sandilands and Tegan Kynaston $1 million wedding. Kyle's groomsmen were nightclub identity John Ibrahim and convicted drug trafficker Simon Main. Labor Governments have attacked the Greens for opposing more private housing development. The Greens want a national rent freeze and seem to only support government-owned and built housing. More housing needs to be built as 650,000 migrants are coming over the next two years. Home Affairs Minister Claire O'Neill unveiled a migration review that recommends allowing more migrant care workers to fill the current demands for labour. NSW One Nation Mark Latham again defended his tweet reply to Independent Sydney MP Alex Greenwich calling him disgusting on Chris Smith's TNT radio show. Latham said that to straight men the thought of two men having anal sex is puke worthy. A peer-reviewed scientific study in 2017 found straight men's physiological stress response to seeing two men kissing is the same as seeing maggots. Greenwich is now suing Latham for defamation, reported him to police and made a vilification complaint. Australia's eSaftey Commissioner Julie Inman Grant issued a takedown notice to Twitter over TERF news website Reduxx for misgendering transwoman and former SJW YouTuber now soccer player Riley Dennis. Dylan Mulvany feels that media reports saying he in response to the Bud Light backlash should be illegal. US President Biden officially announced his 2024 re-election campaign with the slogan ‘let's finish the job'. Because Biden is already 80 years old the Democrats have been promoting two Gen Z shills influencers Harry Sisson and Chris Mowrey. Disney is suing Florida Governor and likely Presidental candidate Ron DeSantis over him removing their special tax and planning status in the state. Already announced Presidential candidate and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley urged Disney to move their operations to her state. In Israel DeSantis signed an anti-free speech law HB 269 that makes it a felony with up to five years in jail for passing out “offensive” flyers or pamphlets. A week after Tucker Carlson's firing from Fox News ratings have helved in the network's 8pm slot. The inside word is it was the decision of the Murdochs. Fox Corporation revenue on Tucker's show had been declining from 2019 onwards because of advertiser boycotts after he said uncontrolled mass migration made America “poorer, dirtier and more divided”. Low-level Tucker producer Abby Grossberg is suing Fox claiming his office contained misogyny and anti-Semitism even though she never met Tucker. Rival conservative news channel Newsmax's ratings have increased with many MAGA American First patriots making the switch. Don Lemon's firing from CNN appears to have occurred because the network had just had enough of his identity politics black victimhood rants. Fresh violence has broken out between military factions in Sudan which is supposed to be in a transition to democracy. The WHO warned of a “high risk of biological hazard” after rebels seized a biolab in Sudan's capital Khartoum. mail: me@timwilms.comMessage: https://t.me/timwilms Wilms Front Links:Entropy: https://entropystream.live/app/wilmsfrontWebsite: http://timwilms.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/wilmsfrontMinds: https://www.minds.com/timwilmsGab: https://gab.com/timwilmsTelegram: https://t.me/wilmsfrontParler: https://parler.com/profile/timwilms/ Support the Show:Membership: http://www.theunshackled.net/membershipDonate: https://www.theunshackled.net/donate/Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/TheUnshackledSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Friday, April 28th, 2023. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/04/27/argentina-shuns-u-s-dollar-will-pay-for-china-imports-in-yuan/ Argentina Shuns U.S. Dollar: Will Pay for China Imports in Yuan Argentina struck a deal with Beijing on Wednesday to stop using U.S. dollars to pay for Chinese imports and embrace the yuan instead. The measure, driven by Argentina’s leftist President Alberto Fernández, is designed to relieve the South American country’s dwindling dollar reserves, AP reports. The deal further enhances China’s rise on the world stage and the diminished role of the U.S. on a host of fronts under President Joe Biden. After reaching the agreement with various companies, Argentina will use the yuan for imports from China worth about U.S.$1.04 billion from next month, accelerating trade with China as Beijing seeks to gain a further foothold in South America. In November last year Argentina expanded a currency swap with China by $5 billion in an effort to increase its yuan reserves. That agreement allowed Argentina “to work on the possibility” of advancing the rate of imports with yuan-denominated import orders being authorized in 90 days rather than the standard 180 days. The decision comes as Argentina battles critical levels in its dollar reserves amid a sharp drop in agricultural exports caused by a historic drought, as well as political uncertainty ahead of elections this year. It has also been working hard to build a relationship with Beijing after having officially joined China’s infrastructure-building Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) last year. Argentina’s government finalized a deal with Beijing soon after to construct a nuclear plant based on Chinese technology near Buenos Aires, Argentina’s national capital, in the near future. The Chinese Communist Party will reportedly provide $8 billion in financing toward the project’s $12 billion total budget. As Breitbart News reported, Argentina currently owes the International Monetary Fund (IMF) $44 billion. The international organization is in talks with Argentine authorities to finalize a fourth review of its program that includes a flexibilization of the proposed foreign exchange reserve accumulation as Argentina, whose foreign reserves are now at a $5 billion deficit, cannot comply with the current goals. https://www.foxnews.com/world/singapore-executes-man-conspired-traffic-2-pounds-cannabis Singapore executes man who allegedly conspired to traffic 2 pounds of cannabis Singapore on Wednesday executed a man accused of coordinating a cannabis delivery, despite pleas for clemency from his family and protests from activists that he was convicted on weak evidence. Tangaraju Suppiah, 46, was sentenced to death in 2018 for abetting the trafficking of 2.2 pounds of cannabis. Under Singapore laws, trafficking more than 500 grams of cannabis may result in the death penalty. Tangaraju was hanged Wednesday morning and his family was given the death certificate, according to a tweet from activist Kirsten Han of the Transformative Justice Collective, which advocates for abolishing the death penalty in Singapore. Although Tangaraju was not caught with the cannabis, prosecutors said phone numbers traced him as the person responsible for coordinating the delivery of the drugs. Tangaraju had maintained that he was not the one communicating with the others connected to the case. At a United Nations Human Rights briefing Tuesday, a spokesperson called on the Singapore government to adopt a "formal moratorium" on executions for drug-related offenses. "Imposing the death penalty for drug offences is incompatible with international norms and standards," said the spokesperson, who added that increasing evidence shows the death penalty is ineffective as a deterrent. Singapore authorities say there is a deterrent effect, citing studies that traffickers carry amounts below the threshold that would bring a death penalty. The island-state's imposition of the death penalty for drugs is in contrast with its neighbors. In Thailand, cannabis has essentially been legalized, and Malaysia has ended the mandatory death penalty for serious crimes. Singapore executed 11 people last year for drug offenses. One case that spurred international concern involved a Malaysian man whose lawyers said he was mentally disabled. https://dailycaller.com/2023/04/26/red-state-bill-religious-institutions-state-funding/ Red State Passes Bill Allowing Religious Institutions Access To State Funding The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a bill Tuesday protecting religious institutions from being denied access to state funding. The Oklahoma Religious Freedom Act was introduced by Republican state Sen. Shane Jett and Republican state Sen. Julie Daniels to further reinforce the First Amendment by preventing the state from denying faith-based groups access to taxpayer dollars, according to the bill. The legislature passed the act Tuesday by a 64 to 27 vote, officially sending the act to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt’s desk to be signed into law. The bill makes way for religious institutions to access state funding by barring the state from denying applications for funding “based solely on the religious character or affiliation of the person or entity.” The act adds to religious protections the state passed in 2021 preventing the government from declaring church activities non-essential, as was often the case during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, some Democrats argued that the bill was an unnecessary addition to the First Amendment, according to KFOR.com, a local media outlet. One Democratic state representative warned that the bill could lead to government funding of religious activities at religious schools. Republican state Rep. John Echols, who co-authored the bill, disagreed with his colleague’s assessment, according to KFOR.com. Oklahoma has been at the center of this discussion for some time. Earlier this month, Gov. Stitt and state Attorney General Gentner Drummond clashed over a Catholic charter school application that would have created the first state-funded religious charter school in the nation. The Spectator reports that lawyers for Grossberg have confirmed that she never actually met Carlson. "Like many on the [Tucker Carlson Tonight] staff, Abby never met Tucker Carlson in person because he taped the show from his personal studios in Maine and Florida, and he did not visit Fox's NY HQ during her time there," said one of Grossberg's attorneys Kimberly A. Catala. Grossberg was the head of booking from July 2022 until she was recently placed on leave in March. The three suspects, all 18 and identified as Joseph Koenig, Nicholas Karol-Chik and Zachary Kwak, were arrested on Tuesday evening at their homes in Arvada, Colo., for taking part in a series of rock-throwing episodes on April 19 that fatally wounded Alexa Bartell, 20, who was killed when one of the rocks smashed through her windshield and struck her, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday. In addition to murder, the three men are charged with extreme indifference; other charges to be determined by the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office are expected. It was not immediately clear if the three, who are seniors from different high schools, had lawyers on Wednesday. The rock-throwing spree began shortly after 10 p.m. on April 19 in Westminster, Colo., which is a city of about 114,000 residents north of Denver, the authorities said. During that hour, the authorities said, the three drove a pickup truck around the county and threw large landscaping rocks at six vehicles, including a minivan and an S.U.V., hitting their windshields and driver’s side windows. Those drivers had minor or no injuries. Around 10:45 p.m., Ms. Bartell was driving north on Indiana Street when her Chevrolet Spark, a subcompact, became the last vehicle struck during the spree, the authorities said. Moments before she was killed, Ms. Bartell was on her phone talking to a friend “when the phone went silent,” according to the sheriff’s office. Her friend tracked her phone and drove to the location on Indiana Street where she found Ms. Bartell “fatally wounded inside her car, which was off the roadway in a field.” It was unclear which of the men were driving but “all three are suspected of throwing rocks,” the sheriff’s office said. They were believed to be in a black 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. “Ultimately, mobile device forensics and supporting information from the public helped lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects,” according to the sheriff’s office, which did not release additional details. The application was temporarily denied by the state’s virtual charter board but will be voted on again in the coming weeks. On 5 April, the British government dispatched a naval task force to engage the Argentine Navy and Air Force before making an amphibious assault on the islands. The conflict lasted 74 days and ended with an Argentine surrender on 14 June, returning the islands to British control. In total, 649 Argentine military personnel, 255 British military personnel, and three Falkland Islanders were killed during the hostilities. The conflict lasted 74 days and ended with an Argentine surrender on 14 June, returning the islands to British control. 1982 Rod Stewart is mugged, gunman steals his $50,000 Porsche on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 1986 World's worst nuclear disaster: 4th reactor at Chernobyl nuclear power station in USSR explodes, 31 die, radioactive contamination reaches much of Western Europe And that… was on this day in history. https://www.theblaze.com/news/city-of-chicago-forced-to-rehire-pay-lost-wages-to-workers-fired-for-refusing-covid-vaccine-mandate City of Chicago forced to rehire, pay lost wages to workers fired for refusing COVID vaccine mandate A Chicago judge recently ordered the city to rehire and pay lost wages to workers who were fired for refusing to comply with Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot's 2021 COVID vaccination mandate. On April 19, administrative law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal ruled that Chicago violated the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by failing and refusing to bargain in good faith over COVID vaccine requirements for city workers. The city was ordered to "make whole" unionized workers who refused the mandate and lost pay and benefits. The affected employees will also receive 7% annual interest on lost wages. The order applies to city workers, including carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, machinists, and operating engineers, represented by trade unions or by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The judge's ruling does not affect police officers. However, the Fraternal Order of Police has its own pending case before the state board. Lightfoot stated in 2022 that 16 police officers were placed on no-pay status after failing to abide by the vaccine mandate. In response to the judge's recent ruling, AFSCME spokesperson Anders Lindall told the Chicago Sun-Times, "We think it's a strong decision and favorable for worker rights generally." A Chicago Federation of Labor spokesperson stated that the judge's order "defends the rights of workers to have a say in their workplace through collective bargaining." Lightfoot announced in 2021 that all city employees must be fully vaccinated by October and warned that those who refused would face "consequences." According to Hamburg-Gal's ruling, "multiple" city employees were placed on non-paid leave for missing the October deadline, and some were terminated. In a statement to Fox News Digital, a spokesperson for the mayor's office said, "The record before the Administrative Law Judge tells a completely different story. Yesterday's ruling was an erroneous decision that does not follow the law, facts nor importantly the science. We are currently reviewing the ruling and evaluating next steps." Lightfoot, the first Chicago mayor to lose a re-election bid in 40 years, will be replaced by Democrat Brandon Johnson on May 15. https://www.theepochtimes.com/fbi-faces-growing-pressure-to-release-nashville-school-shooters-manifesto_5216890.html?utm_source=partner&utm_campaign=BonginoReport Officials Face Growing Pressure to Release Nashville School Shooter’s Manifesto Law enforcement officials are facing increasing pressure to release the manifesto of Nashville, Tennessee, school shooter Audrey Hale, with a U.S. lawmaker accusing the federal government of delaying its release. Local officials said that Hale, a female who used transgender pronouns, left behind a suicide note, journals, and other materials. However, none of that has been released to the public, and a motive hasn’t been publicly identified in the case. MNPD “is leading this investigation … any and all information that may or may not be released will be at the direction of MNPD,” an FBI spokesperson told The Epoch Times on April 24. MNPD officials didn’t respond by press time to a request by The Epoch Times for comment. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and several other Republicans have also called for the document to be released to the public. The shooter’s notes “could maybe tell us a little bit about what’s going on inside of her head,” Burchett told the New York Post. “I think that would answer a lot of questions.” Meanwhile, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) told the paper that if the documents don’t make it to the public, “then we need to investigate why.” Hale, 28, was a former student at The Covenant School, where she fatally shot three children and three adults on March 27. Hale was killed by police within minutes of the first call of an active shooter. Since the shooting, a range of conservative commentators have publicly called for Hale’s manifesto to be made public and have accused the federal government of delaying its release as part of a coverup to keep the public from knowing about the dangers of transgenderism. About a week after the Nashville mass shooting, a 19-year-old male who reportedly identified as female was arrested in Colorado with detailed plans for several school shootings. Days after the shooting, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said that Hale was suffering from mental health issues and was under a doctor’s care for an unspecified emotional disorder. Her parents didn’t know that she had multiple weapons hidden in the house, Drake added. The Metro Nashville Police Department said in a statement earlier this month that Hale’s writings would be “under careful review by the MNPD and the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit based in Quantico, Virginia,” while the “motive for Hale’s actions has not been established and remains under investigation by the Homicide Unit in consultation with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit.” From that statement, it isn’t clear when—or if—Hale’s writings will be released. But the department said that Hale “considered the actions of other mass murderers,” without elaborating. FBI officials didn’t respond by press time to a request by The Epoch Times for comment. https://thepostmillennial.com/antifa-members-arrested-after-allegedly-attacking-protestors-outside-of-fort-worth-family-friendly-drag-show?utm_campaign=64487 Antifa members arrested after allegedly attacking protestors, police outside of Fort Worth ‘family-friendly’ drag show On Sunday, three members of Antifa were arrested outside of a Fort Worth, Texas family-friendly drag show after allegedly attacking protestors of the event. Samuel Fowlkes was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, search, or transport, assaulting a peace officer, evading arrest or detention, and four counts of assault causing bodily injury, according to booking documents. https://twitter.com/i/status/1650261782542315520 - Play Video 0:00-0:25 What you just heard in that audio clip, was another antifa member being arrested after they attempted to “de-arrest” a fellow antifa member from the back of a police cruiser. Fowlkes, who is being held on $22,500 bail, has been revealed to identify as nonbinary. Meghan Grant was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, search, or transport, and interfering with public duties. Christopher Guillott was arrested on charges of assaulting a peace officer and interfering with public duties. The incident occurred outside Fort Brewery and Pizza, which held the drag brunch on Sunday. In an event description, the brewery stated, "This is the perfect event to celebrate a special occasion with your friends, family, or coworkers, or to simply indulge in a fun-filled day out with your loved ones." The three arrested are reportedly part of the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club, members of which are frequently armed at protests and riots. The group is currently advertising its CashApp account on Twitter to raise bail for the arrested members. A CashApp spokesperson told The Post Millennial, "Customer security is our number one priority. Our team takes all security concerns seriously and will take action when appropriate." The group claimed that the arrested members were "trying to aid an injured drag defender." Protect Texas Kids, one of the groups protesting the event, said that Antifa members "were outside assaulting police officers and macing members of [the New Columbia Movement] who were peacefully praying. On to politics… https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/biden-will-veto-mccarthys-debt-limit-package Biden will veto McCarthy's debt limit package, White House announces President Joe Biden will veto House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) debt limit bill, should it pass both chambers of Congress. Biden's Office of Management and Budget released a Statement of Administration Policy Tuesday morning indicating that the administration "strongly opposes the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, which is a reckless attempt to extract extreme concessions as a condition for the United States simply paying the bills it has already incurred." "The President has been clear that he will not accept such attempts at hostage-taking. House Republicans must take default off the table and address the debt limit without demands and conditions, just as the Congress did three times during the prior Administration," the statement continued. "The bill stands in stark contrast to the President’s vision for the economy. The President’s Budget invests in America, lowers costs for families, grows the economy, and reduces the deficit by nearly $3 trillion by asking the wealthy and large corporations to pay their fair share. Therefore, if the President were presented with the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, he would veto it." https://thepostmillennial.com/tucker-carlsons-executive-producer-follows-him-in-exit-from-fox-report?utm_campaign=64487 Tucker Carlson’s executive producer follows him in exit from Fox Tucker Carlson's executive producer Justin Wells is also leaving Fox News, according to Jack Posobiec. The announcement of Carlson's leaving was made on Monday, after his last show was on Friday, April 21. Fox News Tonight will now feature rotating personalities as an interim show until a new host is named. Carlson's departure comes just weeks after a former booker, Abby Grossberg, sued Fox, citing "vile sexist stereotypes" working for Carlson. Grossberg claims that she was fired after filing a lawsuit that claimed Fox lawyers coerced her into giving misleading testimony in the Dominion case. Fox maintains that she was fired for divulging privileged information. The decision to part ways with Carlson came less than a week after the broadcaster and Dominion Voting Systems reached a $787 million settlement, although his show was not a main focus of Dominion's lawsuit. Carlson's show was frequently the top-rated show on cable news, often surpassing 4.5 million viewers per episode. The show premiered in November 2016 and took over the coveted 8 pm EST time slot in 2017. Fox News Media is currently the number one network in all of cable and reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

Niets is minder waar. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The statement reads: "Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named. Carlson's show was frequently the top-rated show on cable news, often surpassing 4.5 million viewers per episode. The show premiered in November 2016, and took over the coveted 8 pm EST time slot in 2017. The decision to part ways with Carlson comes less than a week after the broadcaster and Dominion Voting Systems reached a $787 million settlement. Carlson's show was not a main focus of Dominion's lawsuit. Carlson's departure comes weeks after a former booker at the show, Abby Grossberg, sued Fox, citing "vile sexist stereotypes" working for Carlson. NBC reports that "Grossberg was fired in March after she filed a lawsuit claiming that Fox lawyers coerced her into giving misleading testimony in the Dominion case and that she was being made a scapegoat for the network’s 2020 election coverage. Fox says she was fired for divulging privileged information." Grossberg's lawyer has since said that his client has a "uniquely strong" case against Fox News. Several former Fox News hosts reacted to the news of Carlson leaving the network, including Megyn Kelly, who said "Good for Tucker. Trust me, he doesn't need them." Dan Bongino, who also split ways with the network last week, simply tweeted "WTF!" in response. The media shakeup continued… https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-don-lemon-terminated-by-cnn?utm_campaign=64487 Don Lemon TERMINATED by CNN On Monday, Don Lemon revealed to his Twitter followers that he has been terminated by CNN. "I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN," Lemon’s statement began. "I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly." In response to Lemon’s statement, CNN said, "Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter." Most recently, Lemon was in hot water over comments made about Nikki Haley, being forced to undergo formal training and absent from CNN This Morning for several days. In Late February, Lemon said of presidential candidate Nikki Haley saying politicians over the age of 75 should undergo mental competency tests - saying she Nikki Haley wasn’t in her prime. Lemon went on to say women were in their prime "in their 20s and 30s and maybe 40s." The next week though, Lemon didn’t return to the program until Wednesday, undergoing "formal training" as to why his comments were wrong. During this time, female CNN staffers threatened to quit if Lemon was allowed back. During Lemon’s absence from the morning show, CNN This Morning’s ratings went up by five percent. In September, Lemon was removed from his long-held primetime slot to the morning show. https://thepostmillennial.com/nbcuniversal-ceo-ousted-after-having-inappropriate-relationship-with-coworker?utm_campaign=64487 NBCUniversal CEO ousted after having 'inappropriate relationship' with coworker The CEO of NBCUniversal Jeff Shell has been ousted from the company after an investigation revealed that he was having an 'inappropriate relationship' with a female employee at the company. Shell, who made $21.6 million per year, risked his high earnings by going against company policy and admitting to executives that he was having an "inappropriate relationship" with another woman at the company. NBCUniversal made the announcement that Shell had been terminated in an email sent to employees on Sunday, according to CNBC. The findings were revealed when an outside company was hired to investigate a complaint against Shell. Shell is currently married to Laura Fay Shell, who previously worked for the City of Los Angeles, Daily Mail reports. "Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret," Shell said in a statement. "I'm truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege." In 2020, the vice president of NBCUniversal, Ron Meyer, was ousted from the company after improperly disclosing that he was ordered to pay a settlement to a woman he reportedly had a "consensual affair" with. Shell is the second executive to be ousted in recent years. On Friday, the Supreme Court paused a federal judge's order to restrict access to mifepristone after the 5th Circuit Court overlooked a case to take the dangerous drug off the market after Texas Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ruled that it should not be allowed arguing that the FDA expedited the process to "green light elective chemical abortions on a wide scale." Last year before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Gould said that Americans would be able to get an abortion in Canada, which is typically less regulated than it is in the U.S. and available at later stages of pregnancy. https://www.dailywire.com/news/newsom-directs-national-guard-to-combat-san-franciscos-fentanyl-crisis Newsom Directs National Guard To Combat San Francisco’s Fentanyl Crisis Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) directed the state National Guard and California Highway Patrol to help in the fight against fentanyl trafficking in San Francisco. As part of a new partnership, the agencies are tasked with identifying personnel and resources to assist San Francisco following a 41% spike in fentanyl overdose deaths in the first few months of this year. “We are providing more law enforcement resources and personnel to crack down on crime linked to the fentanyl crisis, holding the poison peddlers accountable, and increasing law enforcement presence to improve public safety and public confidence in San Francisco,” Newsom said in a statement on Friday. Newsom’s office said the collaboration, which also includes the San Francisco Police Department and and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, will be focused on drug suppliers and traffickers rather than seeking to criminalize those struggling with substance abuse in a city that has recorded several hundred accidental overdose deaths annually in recent years. The agreement will “lead to the formation of a new collaborative operation between all four agencies focused on dismantling fentanyl trafficking and disrupting the supply of the deadly drug in the city by holding the operators of large-scale drug trafficking operations accountable,” the governor’s office said. Newsom paid a visit on Wednesday to San Francisco, a city he once led as mayor, and surveyed the Tenderloin neighborhood, which has been hit hard by crime and the fentanyl crisis. The trip took place a couple weeks after San Francisco Mayor London Breed requested federal assistance to arrest and prosecute drug dealers while the city contends with a short-staffed police department, according to local ABC affiliate KGO. During Newsom’s visit to Tenderloin, activist JJ Smith pressed the governor on what he is doing to stop the fentanyl crisis, according to CBS News Bay Area. JJ Smith recalled Newsom saying he is working on the issue, a response which the activist felt was inadequate. Newsom, who is widely seen as a top future presidential contender for the Democrats, says he has already invested more than $1 billion to tackle the opioid and fentanyl crisis in California. His new budget request seeks another $96 million in funding to tackle the problem. The slogans included “Black Lives Matter,” “Freedom,” “Justice,” “Enough,” and “Power to the People,” among others. Jackson said he didn’t see how these gestures made an impact and commented on how past athletes kept their political views to themselves. “Bill Bradley was a senator, a number of baseball players have been representatives and senators. . .But their politics stay out of the game. It doesn’t need to be there.” Jackson, 77, played in the NBA for twelve seasons and coached for 20. He retired from coaching in 2011.

EPISODE 186: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-BLOCK (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Let's all congratulate - and thank - Sidney Powell for getting Tucker Carlson fired. Because of the many final straws in this sad man's case, the MOST final was when it turned out he repeatedly called Powell the C-word. And it all may be on tape. The real reason Lachlan Murdoch and Suzanne Scott went to Rupert Murdoch over the weekend and Rupert fired Carlson was that producer Abby Grossberg has - per her lawyer - nearly 90 recordings documenting her allegations of a toxic, abusive, misogynistic, sexist workplace in Tucker Carlson's office. I have stitched together all the reporting on the biggest firing since Bill O'Reilly - including my own - and it boils down to this. Yes, Fox was furious at all the insults against management revealed (and redacted) in the Dominion files. But Grossberg's suit was the real menace. They would not go for a repetition of the O'Reilly or Roger Ailes sexual abuse scandals. And now Carlson may walk away with $20 or $30 million a year - but only if he DOES NOT WORK at any video or news outlet that could be considered a rival to Fox. Plus: How Don Lemon messed up the chance to get to say farewell on the air, and why he might wind up on MSNBC. Among other reasons, NBC has a lot more money today: they won't pay my lying ex-friend, fired CEO Jeff Shell, a dime. He was fired for cause, and it sure looks like he tried to push his ex-flame Hadley Gamble into re-starting their affair, either by professional carrot or stick. B-BLOCK (20:42) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Fani Willis basically announces she will indict - or WON'T indict - Trump and company in July or August. She warns law enforcement to make appropriate preparations. The FAA shuts down SpaceX after Elon Musk nearly destroys two Texas towns. And The Wall Street Journal finds an instance where Harlan Crow did TOO have actual business in front of the Justice he bought, Clarence Thomas. (25:42) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Anti-vaxxer, Pharma conspiracy theorist Aaron Rodgers will now be paid by the heir to the Johnson & Johnson Pharma fortune. We discuss the firing of Tucker Carlson by Fox News, and some of the circumstances surrounding it, including: The pressure of lawsuits related to Dominion Voting Machines, former Fox producer Abby Grossberg, and Ray Epps, who has been targeted by Tucker and others as the primary person responsible for violence that took place on January 6th. We also talk about Tucker's role in pushing the recent indictment of members of the African Peoples' Socialist Party (APSP) as a strictly political targeting of radical Black leftists, and the role Tucker has played in overhauling the Heritage Foundation.  Support us-www.patreon.com/theantedote https://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/trump-transition-heritage-foundation-231722 https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/us-citizens-and-russian-intelligence-officers-charged-conspiring-use-us-citizens-illegal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGT9n-3l8lY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N32UPXGChgo https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB407/docs/Pollard%20damage%20assess%20CIA.pdf https://www.wired.com/1993/01/inslaw/ https://archive.org/stream/PROMIS-FBI/1342835-0_-_211-CG-177098-AOWF_-Section_01_djvu.txt https://www.archives.gov/files/research/kavanaugh/releases/docid-70105136.pdf https://altcensored.com/watch?v=Jov52RgXS0M https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonas_Savimbi https://cinemacanada.athabascau.ca/index.php/cinema/article/viewFile/4500/4530 [search "Ostriker"] https://issuu.com/thecsc/docs/csc_vol_9_no8_april_1990readable [search "Ostriker] http://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com/autism-and-the-idf-exclusion/ http://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/everything-but-real-news.html http://www.bollyn.com/the-real-kosher-news-network-and-the-911-cover-up/ https://www.mintpressnews.com/the-modern-left-right-and-the-russia-connection/229534/ https://libcom.org/article/investigation-red-brown-alliances-third-positionism-russia-ukraine-syria-and-western-left https://spitfirelist.com/for-the-record/ftr-896-fara-mansoor-on-the-deep-october-surprise-part-1/ https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/05/religious-right-real-origins-107133/ https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/05/10/abortion-history-right-white-evangelical-1970s-00031480 https://www.mintpressnews.com/tucker-carlson-biography-nicaragua-cia/279782/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-antedote/support

EPISODE 185: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Rupert Murdoch PERSONALLY fired Tucker Carlson over ex-Carlson producer Abby Grossberg's lawsuit for harassment, abuse, sexism, and misogyny. Murdoch also felt crossed by Carlson in many of the texts and emails produced by discovery in the Dominion lawsuit, but the firing was NOT a part of the settlement. There were also questions about impending lawsuits against Fox and Carlson by Smartmatic and Ray Epps. But this was about how women were called the c-word in Carlson's office and how producers held a vote on which candidate for Governor of Michigan was more "f-able" and more might have come out if the Dominion case had gone to trial. There is a line, even at Fox (ask Bill O'Reilly or Roger Ailes). And Carlson found it and crossed it. And take it from somebody who was himself fired personally by Murdoch. Tucker was FIRED PERSONALLY BY MURDOCH. Don Lemon was also fired for misogyny, though it appears CNN actually gave him some time in hopes that his crass comments about Nikki Haley and when women were or weren't in their prime might fade in the background they didn't. Still, this is a time to rejoice and wallow neck high in our schadenfreude! Let's SING SING SING! NOTE. https://nutrientsurvival.com Use codeYT10 for 10% off. Tucker is out. He is canceled. He is canned and the left is rejoicing. That's right. The bombshell report came across the wire early today, came across my computer that Fox News and Tucker Carlson have parted ways. There was really no explanation why. Just a simple, we thank him for his service to the network. That's classic corporate speak for get out of here. And that was his last show that we saw last Friday, April 21st. It is stunning because Tucker's show was must-watch TV for half the country, at least half the country. In fact, he was the highest-rated single host at Fox News. And for all that, he got his pink slip this morning. The left is singing hallelujah. CNN called him a right-wing extremist who used his prime-time perch at the talk network to exert a firm grip over the Republican party. Yeah, that's right. No one's talking about Don Lemon being canned today. Everyone is hypothesizing why, though. Why is Tucker out? And here are the two main reasons that you're gonna hear in the news. Number one, follow the money. Just a week ago, Fox News sold a monster defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems. It was almost $800 million over the network's coverage. If you recall, Dan Bongino last week said he was leaving the network. Well, apparently, that was just the first domino. But Tucker was part of that coverage. And you may not know this, but there's another lawsuit out there still being brought by Sparkmatic. It's another polling manufacturing machine company. So we haven't seen the end of all the defamation lawsuits yet. But if that $800 million settlement has anything to do with what's coming down the pike, well, there's more to come. Then there's the discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg. She was a Fox News producer who was fired by the network last month. And she alleges a sexist work environment, among other things. So it's pretty simple. It's just math. When the cost of something outweighs the benefit of something, regardless of your ratings, you're gonna be out. And that's what Fox News Corp, or Fox Corp, and Chairman Rupert Murdoch decided as they evaluated the facts. Okay, so both of those seem like legitimate grounds for a termination, for a departure. But I really, really believe there's something more at play here. And that's everything to do with control the narrative to control the people. Let's face it. Tucker Carlson was the deep state and the mainstream media's public enemy, number one. It was only a matter of time before he would be silenced one way or another. It always happens this way. You are eventually silenced. Don't forget also that it was Tucker who blew the lid on the January 6th Capitol riot. He obliterated the prosecution and the January 6th committee's assertion about what went down that day. And how did he do it? He simply played the videotapes of what happened, of what went down. And none of us had seen any of that until he played them on national news, on prime-time national news. And the alleged insurrectionists strolling through the Capitol, being escorted by Capitol Police and taking selfies along the way were all news to us. New news. And it was Tucker who continues to beat the drum about Hunter Biden lying about his laptop, lying about his Chinese dealings, lying about Ukraine dealings, lying about Russia dealings, and all the like. You see, to the deep state, Tucker was dangerous. He was too dangerous. And so they took him out.  @FoxNews   @news   @CNN  #tuckercarlson #news #breakingnews #foxnews #cnn

EPISODE 177: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump stole a map. The map shows classified intelligence info. Trump took the map to Mar-a-Lago. Trump showed the map to "aides and visitors." That is the definition of the dissemination of national intelligence, and that is ESPIONAGE. That's up to 10 years in jail. If he showed it to a foreign power it's life - or worse. And the New York Times also reports  "Prosecutors have now interviewed nearly everyone who could offer insight in connection with the documents..." while The Washington Post says Special Counsel Jack Smith has opened a new line of inquiry: into possible fraud by Trump on those idiots he conned into donating to fight a rigged election he knew WASN'T rigged. If that sounds familiar to you, that's exactly what Fox "News" did and it sounds like before the trial has even started Fox is losing its battle with Dominion. There are tapes of Bartiromo and Giuliani and Sidney Powell admitting they can't prove claims they've made on Fox against Dominion and Fox hid them from Dominion AND the judge and the judge is pissed. And if it needed to get worse for Murdoch or Trump: Trump's ludicrous claim to Murdoch's minion Tucker Carlson that everybody at the courthouse cried as they arrested him is refuted by a Michael Isikoff news source, who adds a perfect metaphorical knife between the ribs of Trump's insatiable ego. B-Block (15:57) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: The Justins are back, Chuck Schumer and other Senate Dems want DOJ to see if their 1st or 14th Amendment rights were violated and if citizens of Memphis and Nashville were denied their rights to choose their representatives, Tucker Carlson goes full racist on them. Ro Khanna calls on Dianne Feinstein to resign, and the New York Post inadvertently suggests Republicans aren't Americans. (19:30) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The drama in MAGA-land: if they have to boycott Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch, how will they get drunk cheaply? A Missouri state senator doubles down on his belief that adults should be able to marry 12-year olds. And the first question on the application to work for Gov. Sarah Huckabee is: what's YOUR favorite thing about Gov. Sarah Huckabee? C-Block (24:35) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Even for Los Angeles local TV, where if you hang on to your job for seven years you can keep it for seventy years, Jerry Dunphy was a mandarin. The first local news star and maybe the last. Shot in the parking lot of his station. Fired by one station one night, hired by another 24 hours later. How far would you go to save your job? Would you lie under oath in a court deposition? Former Fox News Producer, Abby Grossberg did, but then she thought better of it, recanted her story, and sued her employer for both allegedly coercing her to lie, and for sexual harassment. Then they fired her, and claimed she was both lying, and bad at her job. On its own, that set of facts is pretty sensational, but when considered in context with the underlying case involved; the $1.6 billion dollar defamation suit filed by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News for promoting the "big lie" on the air after the 2020 election that Donald Trump lost because the company's machines somehow actually changed votes for Trump into votes for Joe Biden. Quite the story, and now the basis for the lawsuit claiming that Fox destroyed Dominion's reputation to the point that they not only lost contracts they already had, but also pending deals that would allow them to continue to operate their business successfully. But Fox is claiming that they were just reporting the news as it came to them from the former president and surrogates speaking on his behalf. And besides–and here's the rub for Grossberg–they contend that her lack of fact checking led network luminaries Tucker Carlson, Maria Bartiromo, and Sean Hannity to repeat those lies on the air. Grossberg contends they're trying to scapegoat her, and though she admits she actually did lie about it originally; she only did so because she was being pressured by Fox lawyers. The problem is; internal communications including text messages, tell a whole different story about what was really going on inside Fox News, and the judge hearing the case recently ruled it not only has to go to trial, but that it is “CRYSTAL clear that none of the statements relating to Dominion about the 2020 election are true". The judge made this ruling based on pretrial court documents that reportedly show the network stars and even Fox network owner, Rupert Murdoch, actually knew that the alleged Dominion voting machine story was false, but repeated it anyway, because they were afraid they'd lose viewers, ratings, and money if they told the truth. Now, all of them are going to have to go to court to testify in the Dominion case. Of course all that is going on far away from Ohio, but it does actually have a local connection. In 2021, the Stark County Board of Commissioners decided not to buy 14 hundred new voting machines from Dominion, which had been recommended by the Stark County Board of Elections, and they did so, based on the false allegations about the machines. Stark County, of course, is far from the only local jurisdiction that has done the same thing; hence the big lawsuit against Fox. But even leaving the whole Fox-Dominion dispute aside; there are lawsuits every day, where employees are called on to either back up, or refute allegations of misdeeds on the part of their employers, and those employees, like Abby Grossberg, have a choice to make; tell the truth and maybe lose your job, or tell a lie and possibly get blamed for something you didn't do, or even face charges of perjury. Rock, meet hard place. So, that's why Jeanne Destro, who was filling in for Ray Horner last week, decided to talk about it with Akron Attorney, and University of Akron Law Professor Emeritus, J. UPDATE 158: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:41) SPECIAL COMMENT: What if they gave a Trump Rally and nobody came? It happened, yesterday, at Trump Tower. My exclusive report from the scene as TWO people showed up, 22 showed up downtown, and today's big California rally is scheduled in the parking lot of a Laguna Hills In-N-Out Burger apparently because THE NEAREST FOUR SEASONS TOTAL LANDSCAPING WAS BOOKED. While the rest of us celebrate the thrilling holiday season before Mugshotmas, the far right continue to act as if the gravity has been turned off in their universe. DeSantis defends Trump; Trump implies he's a pedophile or he's gay. McCarthy insists Trump wants no protests; Trump tries to get New York police to NOT defend anti-Trump residents. And in the case against those who allegedly defamed on Trump's behalf, as Dominion Voting and Fox go back into a courtroom in Delaware today, the Fox "News" case comes apart. The former producer of Maria Bartiromo's show, now a Tucker Carlson guest booker, says Fox lawyers tried to make her take the fall. She sues them; they try to stop her from testifying against them. But her testimony leaks: she says her bosses called Bartiromo "a crazy b*tch" and Carlson's producer asked if Bartiromo were having an affair with Kevin McCarthy. She also alleges Carlson's staff made jokes about Jews, and conducted a mock debate about who they'd rather sleep with: Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer or her challenger Tudor Dixon. On the other hand: Rupert Murdoch is getting married again, because love means never having to say you're sorry you're 92. B-BLOCK (15:07) A special summary of 20 years ago as this nation attacked Iraq based on a series of lies by a series of liars named George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld. At this milestone anniversary, liberal media is quite rightly assailed for 'letting it happen.' But I want to give some context for it, especially as one of the few who risked their careers to be anti-war (and my first anti-Iraq War broadcast was in October 2002). I was once almost fired for simply telling the truth about the rescue of Private Jessica Lynch, and I expected to be when I aired the first Special Comment against Iraq and Rumsfeld's attempt to demonize dissent. I'll re-read that commentary, too. C-BLOCK (34:35) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Fenix in Tennessee (35:32) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: On JULY 2, 1979 I was just a fan in the stands cheering Thurman Munson of the New York Yankees. On AUGUST 2, 1979 I was the anchor on a 1000-station radio network having to cover his sudden death, as it flashed across the wire machine two minutes before my first sportscast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After a vote last night to audit MARTA, Atlanta city council members went before the media today to explain why. MARTA released a jaw-dropping statement, by the way. This line in particular: "The best thing the politicians on council can do for their constituents in the City of Atlanta is to get out of the way ..." is audacious! We'll go over legislative measures SB 233 (school vouchers) and SB140 (trans youth gender-affirming care ban) today, before welcoming back Jeff Graham from Georgia Equality to explain what can be done to convince the governor not to sign SB140. Lastly, Fox News doesn't have enough lawsuits filed against 'em so former producer Abby Grossberg threw another one the wood pile, earlier this week. This one alleges violations of equal pay laws, gender discrimination, religious discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate disability, and aiding and abetting unlawful discrimination and retaliation. Some of her behind-the-scenes stories will either shock you or .. because it's Fox News ... won't.
