This is a conversation with Kerrilynn Pamer, founder of CAP Beauty. It was recorded recently at her kitchen table with the scent of a walnut cake in the oven filling the room. She was first on in 2021 where we talked about starting CAP, cooking, and personal style, and I've been dying to have her back ever since. This episode covers updates on topics discussed last time plus we talk about: having a fixed vs. growth mindset, feeling left out, friendship vs. acquaintances, taking a psychological approach to aging, beauty, developing taste, interiors (including how to make your home feel like a supportive friend), and much more. This was recorded in 2022 but I'm re-airing it today because she's returning to the show next week. I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to have Kerrilynn Pamer, Co-Founder of CAP Beauty on today's episode. I've been following Her and CAP since the beginning (2015), and have been captivated since day one!  Not only did I connect and resonate so deeply to their philosophy "Beauty is Wellness. Wellness is Beauty", but I was incredibly obsessed with the community that they built, and continue to grow. It's as if their vibration attracts the most interesting, unique, inspiring, and vision holding humans in the health, wellness, and beauty sphere to share with all of Us. They hold space for beauty to be cultivated, but in a way that is nourishing, and effortless from the inside out.  Kerrilynn and I go deep in today's episode talking about redefining beauty, what beauty means to her, holding space for what is and navigating challenges, creating and building a business and brand, aging in a world that we live in now, what this year has brought forth, the healing power of nature, simplicity, her love of books, and some of her healing tools that she leans on daily to create more peace and unity in body, mind, and soul.  While we all go through our own unique path and journey in life, Kerrilynn holds the space and vision for Us to find beauty in every step.  We hope you enjoy it!    CAP BEAUTY'S LINKS | WEBSITE - CAPBEAUTY.COM INSTAGRAM HIGH VIBRATIONAL BEAUTY BOOK  THE THINKING CAP   KERRILYNN PAMER | INSTAGRAM    OTHER | BEAUTY: THE INVISIBLE EMBRACE    LISA'S LINKS | A RADIANT LIFE.CA  INSTAGRAM 1:1 SESSIONS - WORK WITH ME FOUNDATIONS  ( A 4 WEEK SELF-GUIDED COURSE)

Welcome back to Season 2 of Our Nature with the authentic and delightful Kerrilynn Pamer of CAP Beauty. Kerrilynn is the co-founder of natural beauty store CAP Beauty and the co-author of the bestselling book “High Vibrational Beauty,” which combines mantras, meditation, natural skincare recipes, and practices with the aim of helping you achieve natural radiance. What I love about Kerrilynn is how open and real she is. She doesn’t claim to be perfect, to have it all figured out, but rather, she’s a work in progress, as all of us are. In this episode we discuss Kerrilynn’s journey to from the fashion industry to eventually founding CAP, how she defines beauty, why the word “natural” is often misused, elitism in the wellness industry and the simple practices that are free (but profound), how to be well when you don’t have a lot of money, what high vibrational beauty means to Kerrilynn, and the personal practices that keep her physically, emotionally and spiritually well. I chose this conversation to be my kick off for season 2 because I believe we all want to feel beautiful, and I think Kerrilynn does an incredible job of articulating what multi-dimensional beauty really looks like.

Fine Feather is the only exclusively clean beauty and wellness store here in Ohio. In this episode, Diana defines what clean beauty is to her and tells us her story and background for why she wanted to start Fine Feather. We discuss how important it is to bring the community together over shared interests, passions, and learning new things and how Fine Feather does that by hosting a variety of wellness classes right there in the store. We talk about how the FDA doesn’t really regulate beauty products and how easy it is to buy toxic products without knowing it. With that being said, it Is important to educate ourselves on what products we are using on a daily basis, but also it’s ok to go slow when transitioning into clean beauty and wellness. Diana also gives us her top three products she would recommend switching! Fine Feather also does beauty consultations with Diana and Correna who will help you create a make up routine that is skin forward and focuses on enhancing the natural beauty of your own skin. We absolutely loved this episode and we are so thankful for all of Diana’s knowledge, hard work, and effort to create such a wonderful space for clean beauty and community right here in Columbus! If you'd like to support the podcast, the best thing you can do is share it with a friend! Happy birthday “High Vibrational Beauty”! In honoring this gorgeous holistic lifestyle guide I'm thrilled to share my conversation with Kerrilynn Pamer, it's co-author, and co-founder and CEO of CAP Beauty. Kerrilynn's first business, the boutique, Castor & Pollux, was a much-loved fixture in the West Village. In 2010 she introduced her customers to a small selection of naturals and watched the interest and love for this category grow. She decided at that point that New York City (and the world!) needed a store committed to natural beauty. Kerrilynn partnered with her longtime friend and collaborator, the photo stylist Cindy DiPrima Morisse, a perfect match as they had bonded for so long over their interest in healthful living. Kerrilynn and I became friends over Instagram (yes, it's a thing) and upon meeting felt as though we had met many times before. Her radiance is palpable, she truly walks her talk and is the embodiment of a modern ethereal being. Please listen in on this inspiring conversation from which I walked away vibing high, and listen to my interview with Cindy for the full experience. KERRILYNN'S FAVORITES Kerrilynn what are your "keep my sanity"' essentials? Spending time with my husband and dogs. Espresso in the morning, The 4 PM blend in the afternoon. Saturday yoga class at Kula. Healthy food in the fridge and cupboards. Daily Kundalini. Daily TM. What's your Favorite workout or form of movement? I adore the Saturday class at Kula with Jillian Turecki. A favorite moment during the week. What is your non-negotiable self care ritual or tool? I've been exploring the idea of having no "non-negotiables". It was creating a rigidity that I wasn't comfortable with, so these days I'm making efforts to just do what makes me feel good without the "should" wrapped around it. It's working for me. What is the best beauty / health / wellness advise a parent or loved one has ever given you? My Dad told me to never give up, and keep moving forward. That's a pretty good one. A simple beauty ritual / recipe / tonic you'd like to share with listeners. The CAP Beauty Matcha mixed with our Coconut Butter, some seed milk that my husband makes (his is the best!), turmeric and some tocotrienols served warm with bee pollen on top. A favorite. -- Are you ready for your transformation? Do you want to feel energized, happy and free? Then let's chat! Schedule a Consultation today. Happy Spring friends! I'm excited to bring you my conversation with Cindy DiPrima, Co-Founder and Creative Director of CAP beauty and co-author of “High Vibrational Beauty”. Known for her intelligent and elevated approach to style, Cindy has contributed to Harper's Bazaar, Domino, and Town & Country among other publications and ad campaigns. As two style-obsessed friends, she and Kerrilynn Pamer dreamed of building a store that was as inspiring as it was pure in it's mission. While sitting with Cindy you can't help but notice her deep and wise glow. During this insightful chat she shares how their common love for cooking, elevated entertaining and passion for wellness guided her and Kerrilynn to birth their ever inspiring brand. These women have not only defined what we know as “clean beauty”, they've brought to light to their community (and the world!) that what we put on our bodies is as important - and of substance - as we what put in it. For the full experience please listen to my interview with Kerrilynn. CINDY'S FAVORITES Cindy what are your "keep my sanity"' essentials?  Green juice. Following a plant-based and food combining diet. Running. Yoga. Phone-free time with my kids (still working on this one! the camera is my weakness!). Cooking for family and friends What's your favorite workout or form of movement? Yoga is really my go-to. I've done lots of types and am now in a phase of loving hot yoga. The heat and sweat are both so therapeutic and really keep me well and my body has never been stronger. I don't practice Bikram but go to a looser style class at Modo.  I also love running and love that this is something I can do with my husband. I'm not fast or distance driven. I just really like the workout.  What is your non-negotiable self care ritual or tool? Gravity colonics with Gil Jacobs in NYC.  What is the best beauty / health / wellness advise a parent or loved one has ever given you? My parents are and were healthy in a very mainstream sort of way, not radical and very respectful of the advice of doctors and Western medicine in general. I veer more to the left of that! But I am very grateful that my parents always questioned the over-use of antibiotics. I was raised not to take them unless absolutely necessary. THAT is advice for the ages. A simple beauty ritual / recipe / tonic you'd like to share with listeners. Bedtime tonic This is a great way to end the day and promotes deep, easy sleep and restoration: 1/2 teaspoon CAP Beauty's The 10PM 1 to 2 teaspoons CAP's The Coconut Butter (or more to taste! It's crazy delicious.) 1 tablespoon Dandy Blend (optional) 6 ounces hot water Splash of homemade nut, seed or oat milk Put all ingredients in a blender and run on high until mixed and frothy. Or put all ingredients your favorite mug and mix with an aero latte.

When I mentioned I was having a skin expert on the podcast in the listener facebook group I received more questions than I ever have. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks, talks, and wants to know more about skin. We feel with it, we see it, and it is the biggest organ we have so it makes sense. This episode is hyper focused on the topic of skin but we cover so many issues related to it. The Life Stylist

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 3, 2017 65:06

This unique 'Bootleg Broadcast' episode of the show is a live recording of a recent talk I gave in West Hollywood California, to celebrate my 100th episode of The Life Stylist Podcast. Having devoted the past twenty-plus years of my life to spiritual growth and metaphysical understanding, it seems that the next phase of my journey is naturally guiding me down the path of sharing my experiences with live audiences, as an inspirational (albeit reluctant) teacher of sorts. This raw, unedited live recording is my second-ever public talk, witch attempts to tackle the sometimes challenging topics of god, ego, and spiritual liberation.  After receiving such an abundance of positive feedback on my recent debut presentation at Cap Beauty in NYC, and constant requests for more spiritually-based content, I've decided to put this show out as an exercise of courage and vulnerability. If there's one thing I've learned in my first year as a podcast host, it's that people want the truth. They want something real. And the paradox of that fact is that the more open I become about my spiritual life, the more people relate to it and derive hope and inspiration from my experience on the path to enlightenment. But why should we care about the spiritual part of life anyway? What's the point? Ask yourself the following questions, and you may arrive at a place of curiosity, if not a legitimate desire to know more. Are you able to find peace in your pain? Can you reach and maintain a level of surrender in your life to the point that you rarely get rattled by the day to day stresses of the human experience? Do you control your mind, or does it control you? These are but a few of the questions I attempt to tackle in this introspective episode. Although this particular lecture is highly spontaneous and meandering, there are a couple of consistent themes, such as: How to escape the pain of the ego mind by walking through the inevitable pain in life The importance of strictly avoiding negative, thoughts, deeds and actions The  immense power of self-love and acceptance How and why I started the podcast, and how it has served my personal development and evolution I hope that this talk and ones like it which are likely to follow can provide a light-hearted and accessible approach to living a spiritually-centered life. The beautiful thing about finding salvation is that we are each free to do it in our way, and are open to choose whichever path best suits our current level of development and understanding. May you find god in whatever form gives your life meaning and fulfillment. Luke For more about this episode Topics Discussed: I begin by taking the crowd through Breath of Fire warm up- one of my top Kundalini yoga practices We do what I call Alpha wave “surfing" to encourage production of flow state, bliss and positive emotions How my own suffering gave me the willingness to change, and my journey from rebellion to humility How this  podcast became my vehicle for sharing my experience, but most of all, my personal growth and expansion The difference between the higher self vs. ego self, and how to determine who’s controlling your life The fantasmagoria of the mind, and how most of what it tells you isn't even real How to curb neurosis and knowing that you must understand how the mind works, and learn to see through it’s falLacious beliefs Unplugging from the mind matrix and how the key to freedom begins with awareness The concept of thought-fasting and other perspective-changing techniques to deflect negative thoughts, blame, and self deception How to build your own internal gym for mental fitness, using mindfulness, meditation and self-awareness Why it’s so important to feel our painful feelings, and how to process them quickly, and with intention The fact that positive influence happens through attraction, not promotion, and how it’s pointless to try and control or influence others Q&A with audience   MY 90-DAY LIFESTYLE DESIGN COACHING PROGRAM Your opportunity to work with me one-on-one.
