Our crew was dispatched to a high energy, rollover MVC with a patient ejection, which usually demands aggressive trauma protocols. But what happens when the patient is equipped with a HeartMate II, a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) that pumps blood for failing hearts. Talha bin Ubeydillâh (r.a.) İslâm'a ilk giren sekiz kişiden biridir. Ticâret için gittiği Bus-râ'da gördüğü bir râhipten Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'in peygamber olacağını duydu. Mekke'ye dönünce Hz. Ebû Bekir (r.a.)'le gö-rüştü ve onun vâsıtasıyla müslüman oldu. Hz. Talha (r.a.), Hz. Zübeyr (r.a.) gibi Cen-net'le müjdelenen on kişiden biridir. Zengin olduğu için sadece canıyla değil, malıyla da İslâm'a hizmet etti. Onun bu cömertliği sebe-biyle Fahr-i Âlem (s.a.v.) Efendimiz kendisini hayırlı Talha, cömert Talha, bereketli Talha anlamında “Talhatü'l-hayr”, “Talhatü'l-cûd”, “Talhatü'l-feyyâz” diye övdü.Hz. Talha (r.a.) Uhud Gazvesi'nde, Efen-dimiz (s.a.v.)'in kayanın üzerine çıkması için onun kadem-i şerîfine omuz verdi. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) bunun üzerine, “Talha, Cennet'i hak etti” buyurdu. O gün Hz. Talha (r.a.), sadece Resûlullâh (s.a.v.)'in taşın üzerine çıkmasına yardım etmedi. Bu savaşta kâfirler Peygam-ber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'e iyice yaklaştığında, canlarını ortaya atarak onu koruyan birkaç yiğitten biri de Hz. Talha (r.a.) idi. Resûl-i Ek-rem (s.a.v.)'e savrulan bir kılıçtan onu koluy-la koruduğu için çolak kaldı. O gün kâfirlerle savaşırken ve Allâh'ın Resûlü (s.a.v.)'i düş-manların hücumundan korurken, vücuduna seksenden fazla kılıç, mızrak ve ok darbesi aldı. Canını, Peygamber (s.a.v.) uğrunda fedâ etmeye hazır olduğunu gösterdi. Bu sebeple Cennet'e girmeyi hak etti.Talha bin Ubeydillah (r.a.), Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'den otuz sekiz hadis rivayet etmiştir. Allâh (c.c.) kendisinden râzı olsun.(İmâm Tirmizî, Şemâil-i Şerîf, c.1, s.391-393)

(Şuara, 78-82)demiştir. Bütün bunlar, Hazret-i İbrahim'in Allahü teâlâ'ya medh-üsenalarıdır. O bunlardan sonra duaya başlayarak, "Ya Rabbi, bana hüküm (hikmet) nasîb et ve benisalihlere kat" (Şuara, 83) demiştir. Burada da aynı şekilde Cenâb-ı Allah ilk önce tekbiri emretmiş, dahasonra da duayı emretmiştir.

A brutal incident where a woman gets hit by a truck leaves her with a multitude of injuries, most notably both of her legs bent into a position best described as "frog legs." She's in good spirits and her vitals are good, but her legs bent at that angle means that she cannot fit into our team's helicopter. How does our team get her legs back into place without causing further trauma or risking her stable vitals? Complicating factors is the extremely uneven ground because they're in a cow pasture and the risk of infection is extremely high because the team and the patient are surrounded by cow patties. In an incredible twist of irony, this month's case focuses on our flight crew loading into their helicopter to be dispatched to... a patient who has fallen out of a helicopter. From a height of approximately 40 feet and at a speed of 30 knots, our patient has an abundance of injuries, which requires our team to remember their axiom: "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." A common aphorism in the medical community comes from Dr. Theodore Woodward who said in the 1940s, "When you hear hoofbeats behind you, think of horses, not zebras." It's a way of reminding medical practitioners that the most common explanation is usually correct. In other words, Occam's Razor is usually correct. But what happens when the most common explanation isn't correct? What happens when you turn around and find a zebra looking at you?
