The real culture war isn't new—it began in the 1880s. Are you choosing liberation or obedience?--- Join and support the community: https://www.creationspaths.com/In this episode, Charlie and Brian explore a deep-rooted cultural and spiritual transformation that began in the late 19th century, focusing on figures like Aleister Crowley, Gerald Gardner, and Ross Nichols. These esoteric thinkers and spiritual leaders challenged traditional, hierarchical, and ascetic religious models by promoting personal liberation, initiatory experiences, and direct participation in spiritual mysteries. Their work helped shape the modern Pagan, Druid, and magical movements, breaking away from rigid structures of control.Charlie argues that we are in the midst of the real culture war, which isn't about religion versus secularism but rather freedom and self-discovery versus obedience and authoritarianism. They discuss how these shifts in philosophy, psychology, and spirituality were foundational in the rise of New Age movements, the counterculture of the 1960s, and ongoing struggles for social justice today. The conversation also covers the historical impact of the Second Axial Age (1880s–1960s), the influence of Thelema and Wicca, the rise of feminism in esoteric traditions, and the fundamentalist backlash against spiritual freedom. They encourage listeners to reflect on their own spiritual paths and advocate for liberation over dogmatic control.Charlie and Brian conclude by emphasizing the importance of resisting high-control religious and societal structures while fostering personal and collective empowerment through spiritual exploration, self-realization, and community-driven movements.Thank you for Liking and Subscribing to this podcastThank you for sharing this episode with your loved ones, friends and community--- Thank you for Tips or Donations:https://ko-fi.com/cedorsetthttps://patreon.com/cedorsett$CreationsPathsSubstack: https://www.creationspaths.com/For all of the things we are doing at The Seraphic Grove go to Creation's Paths https://www.creationspaths.com/For Educational Resource: https://wisdomscry.com Guided Meditations Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV0C8kiTKv0J2QAAlD1uaIJvQ3Sr9sIqOChristopagan Playlist:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV0C8kiTKv0ISXDQkZBRB7EHrUUJgXlGNThe Everything Playlist:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV0C8kiTKv0Ln3eGW-tDk2R68PM6c182OCreation's Paths Podcast: http://www.creationspaths.com/podcastChurch of the Oak Podcast: http://churchoftheoak.com/Hallowstead Podcast: http://hallowstead.com/Social Connections:BlueSky https://bsky.app/profile/creationspaths.comThreads https://www.threads.net/@creationspathsInstagram https://www.instagram.com/creationspaths/Chapters:00:00 Introduction: The Common Thread of Crowley, Nichols, and Gardner00:57 Meet the Hosts: Charlie and Brian01:13 Who Were Crowley, Gardner, and Nichols?02:00 The Paradigm Shift in Spirituality03:20 The Second Axial Age: A New Era of Thought05:16 The Rise of Participatory Spirituality09:48 The Real Culture War: Liberation vs. Control16:14 The Influence of Crowley and the Aquarian Age19:39 Modern Implications and the Fight for Freedom31:25 Conclusion: Embracing Liberation and Community Get full access to Creation's Paths at www.creationspaths.com/subscribe

New year has arrived how are you going to have the best year in your life? Plan and pursue Why having plans is needed - https://www.relaxedmale.com/why-you-want-to-plan-your-year/ Build your 4 pillars Man's Mind Man's Body Man's Soul Man's Community Get a coach What I am doing this year Fasting 4 times Getting 10 clients Getting a coach End of the Year Information < hr > In this episode of The Relaxed Male podcast, the host begins by welcoming listeners and discussing the importance of being intentional in the new year. They stress the need to make plans and set goals rather than just talking about them. The host acknowledges that decision-making can be challenging for men but encourages them to overcome their fear and take action. The main speaker dives into the concept of decision-making and the fear of missing out on other options. They believe that making decisions can make a person stronger, despite the common excuses people make to avoid planning and setting goals. They emphasize the importance of pushing oneself and going through challenges to become a better person. The speaker criticizes men who desire attention from attractive women without putting in the effort to improve themselves. They then share their own goal of fasting for seven days but mention that their spouse expressed concerns and questioned the safety of the decision. However, the speaker is confident in their ability to complete the fast and mention an example of someone who went over a year without eating. They acknowledge that hunger pains and temptations will be a challenge but express determination to overcome them. They plan to repeat the fasting challenge four times throughout the year to improve their physical pillar. The main speaker discusses the discomfort that comes with learning something new and the importance of having a plan. They share a link to a blog post about the benefits of planning and explain that our brain's natural inclination is to seek pleasure and avoid pain, making learning new things challenging. They also emphasize the need to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the discomfort of setting goals and experiencing failures. They introduce the four pillars of relaxed mail, which include the mind, passions, body, and community. The speaker suggests working on the mind by reading books and listening to educational podcasts, pursuing passions, taking care of the body through exercise and proper nutrition, and building a strong community of meaningful relationships. The speaker discusses the importance of having a strong community and setting a goal to have 10 close friends. They emphasize the need to actively engage with others, learn something special about them, and form meaningful relationships. They acknowledge that some may feel overwhelmed by this idea and come up with fear-based thoughts, but it is essential to open oneself up to others and build a community. The speaker highlights that seeking support and guidance from a community can help apply what one has learned and make progress in various aspects of life. They also mention the importance of having a coach who can help identify and overcome limiting beliefs, provide guidance and accountability, and propel personal growth further. The main speaker plans to fast four times and acquire 10 clients while seeking a business coach to enhance their coaching practice in the upcoming year. The main speaker continues by sharing the history of The Relaxed Male, which started as a men's catalog and evolved into a blog focused on helping men. They reflect on the growth of their podcast and the fluctuations in listenership over the years. They express gratitude for every listener and emphasize the importance of providing value and trusting that success will come with time and consistency. The host encourages listeners to share the podcast with others and invites them to explore new podcasting apps that offer interactive features. They also mention a few spots still available for free coaching and highlight the importance of genuine dedication to self-improvement. The episode concludes with a reminder to share the podcast on social media platforms and visit the show notes on the website for more information. The host also encourages listeners to get in touch and leave a message on the website if they're interested in free coaching. The episode ends with a message of gratitude to the audience and the anticipation of future growth. 00:00:00 Welcoming 2024 and Making It Your Best Year Yet 00:09:58 The Transformation of a Lump of Coal into a Diamond 00:16:27 Understanding and managing our wife's emotions 00:19:00 The importance of making a plan and setting goals 00:26:38 Building a Strong Community for Men 00:36:11 Consistency and Growth in Special Day Posts 00:46:05 Building a Viewership and Changing Society

Bret and Nirmal welcome Idit Levine, Founder/CEO Solo.io. Idit focuses on Service Mesh, API-GW and Multi-Cloud networking, and security.Idit has been involved in the Containers/DevOps community for 10+ years, building products from Docker to Envoy to Kubernetes, and now Istio and Cilium. We talk about Istio, Ambient Mesh, Envoy, Zero-Trust Security, Cilium, eBPF, Multi-Cloud and more. This is not the first time we've talked about Solo or Service Mesh. Ambient Mesh is Solo's new product that simplifies the install and infrastructure costs of essentially running Istio. I'm really hopeful that this is going to help a lot more people implement Istio because traditionally, it does have a lot of parts and a lot of costs with the sidecar approach, but this new approach reduces the number of essentially proxies and parts that you're running on each node of your Kubernetes cluster. Pico Boulevard is home to dozens of Oaxacan businesses. Now, less than a year after an LA City Councilmember disparaged Oaxacans, locals want city recognition. In her new book, “Strip Tees: A Memoir of Millenial LA,” Kate Flannery gives an insider's look at the problematic rise of scandal-plagued American Apparel. The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery's annual showcase of mid-career grant recipients returns for the first time since the pandemic.
Bret and Matt welcome special guest Brendan Burns, CVP Azure Cloud Native & Resource Management, and also a founding member of the Kubernetes project.Because Brendan is one of the three original co-founders of the Kubernetes project back in 2013 at Google, he's a little bit internet famous in open source and Cloud Native. So I was a little nervous going into this because I had so many questions. We took some live questions as we always do from YouTube live, and I thought it was a really great episode of a little mix of talking about Azure and some of the things you can do with containers, some of the things they're working on, some of the things that he's focused on that we haven't seen yet. We talk about AI and how that relates to some of these things. We even talk about WASM or WebAssembly, one of my favorite topics of the last year, because that's important so it was great to get his perspective. And I think my favorite part of the show is where we really talk about the next layers of abstraction, or maybe even the ways that we can deploy to Kubernetes or make it simpler to manage and deploy to. And that's been a real challenge for the community ever since Kubernetes was created in making it more accessible to more people, without it being so complex to manage and deal with underneath. And Brendan has some really great views on what it's going to take it to get us there.Live recording of the complete show from June 15, 2023 is on YouTube (Ep. #221).★Topics★Ways to run containers on AzureDaprWebAssembly on Azure KubernetesWasmtimeTwelve-Factor AppSupport this show and get exclusive benefits on Patreon, YouTube, or bretfisher.com!★Join my Community★Get on the waitlist for my next live course on CI automation and gitops deploymentsBest coupons for my Docker and Kubernetes coursesChat with us and fellow students on our Discord Server DevOps FansGrab some merch at Bret's Loot BoxHomepage bretfisher.comCreators & Guests Bret Fisher - Host Cristi Cotovan - Editor Beth Fisher - Producer Matt Williams - Host Brendan Burns - Guest (00:00) - Intro (03:10) - Introducing Brendan (08:47) - Advice for starting to run containers (30:30) - Reducing complexity with AI (34:41) - Addressing DevOps fatigue (42:38) - Running WebAssembly on Kubernetes (54:23) - LTS Linux Distributions (59:28) - What's next after containers and orchestration?
Bret and Matt welcome Michael Cade, the field CTO at Kasten by Veeam. If you've been around servers for a while, you probably have heard of Veeam. It made its debut back in the late 2000's when virtual machines and implementations of VMs were big. I first found out about them back in those days, because it was a great free product for small virtual machine environments and data centers. They've made tons of additional backup and recovery products over those years, and now they have Kasten K10, which is a Kubernetes backup and restore/recovery product. Michael discussed with us the origins of K10 and some of the major features. We get into some demos, which you can check out in the original YouTube live show. Bret and Matt welcome Jake Warner back to the show to talk about LowOps. What does LowOps mean? What can Cycle offer us as an alternative to Swarm and Kubernetes?Jake Warner is the CEO and founder of Cycle.io. And I had him on the show a few years ago when I first heard about Cycle and I wanted to get an update on their platform offering. On this show we generally talk about Docker and Kubernetes but I'm also interested in any container tooling that can help us deploy and manage container based applications. Cycles' platform is an alternative container orchestrator as a service. In fact, they go beyond what you would provide normally with a container orchestrator and they provide OS updates, networking, the container runtime, and the orchestrator all in a single offering as a way to reduce the complexity that we're typically faced with when we're deploying Kubernetes. While I'm a fan of Docker swarm due to its simplicity, it still requires you to manage the OS underneath, to configure networking sometimes, and the feature releases have slowed down in recent years. But I still have a soft spot for those solutions that are removing the grunt work of OS and update management and helping smaller teams get more work done. I think Cycle has the potential to do that for a lot of teams that aren't all in on the Kubernetes way, but still value the container abstraction as the way to deploy software to servers.Live recording of the complete show from May 18, 2023 is on YouTube (Ep. #217). On this episode, we take some time to discuss the annoucement surround dearMoon as we now know the crew selection! These are exciting times for the abundant opportunities for civilians to go to Space. These are also dark and complex times, and some of the online STEM community offered criticism and comparisons to Mars One. To me, summoning the Mars One mission is like awarding someone the Darwin Award - for extreme cases only, and not to be given out lightly. Let's crack down this confusingly human response by discussing WHAT the dearMoon mission is and WHY its happening. We'll then discuss WHO the lucky chosen 8 were to join Yusaku Maezawa around the Moon and back. And we will close with our collectiong of criticism, outrageous and justified. I will even share my thoughts on how I felt hearing that 8 people (one of which being a famous space content creator) are officially going to the moon! This is a great mission and these 9 crew members will have the journey of a lifetime! Our mission is to spread love and spread science - and that's where this podcast comes from! PAUL GARBER/WFDD There are three Union Cross communities in the Triad area, one each in Forsyth, Yadkin and Surry counties. Listener Robert Myers of Kernersville had a question for Carolina Curious about the origins of the one in southeastern Forsyth County: I have lived near Union Cross for many years, and I always wondered, where did the community get its name? I've asked many people in the community, but no one seems to know the answer. The North Carolina Gazetteer — an index of the state's geographic features — has a history for the name of only one of those three communities. Yadkin County's Union Cross was apparently named for a Quaker Friends Meeting back in the 1880s. So could Forsyth's name also come from a Friends Meeting place? Not likely, according to Quaker history authorities. The Friends didn't start using the term Union Cross until the time the Yadkin community was named, decades after Forsyth's community was founded. Michelle DeLapp is chairwoman of the board for the Wachovia Historical Society. Using Moravian archives, she found references to Union Cross in records dating to the early 1860s, well before the Quakers used the term. The timing would also seem to rule out any connection to the Union Army in the Civil War. Forsyth County's Union Cross appears to date back to the days of a plank road in the mid-1800s that ran from Fayetteville, through High Point, and up to the Moravian community of Bethania. DeLapp says the name may simply be a reference to an important convergence of roads during the middle of the 19th Century. “I believe it had something to do with the location of the road,” she says. “It was an intersection between High Point Road and what is known as Union Cross Road now — it was kind of an intersection. And it was kind of a main road.” Today, Union Cross is the site of an elementary school and a county park. Union Cross wasn't the only prominent use of the term “Union” in Forsyth County. The Union Republican newspaper used it during its run from the 1870s to the 1940s, and Winston-Salem's train stop was called Union Station when it was built almost 100 years ago. Our guest today is Alex Cohen co-founder of Accessible Pharmacy, a company which provides a multitude of services, but first and foremost it is a comprehensive medication management healthcare company specializing in services for the visually impaired community. Recognizing that this community is not homogenous, and that every individual has individual needs including within its health care services, they work on a case by case basis to match their various services to the individual's needs. Once accessible Pharmacy secures the patient's insurance information, they contact all of the servicing physicians to fully understand what those doctors are prescribing and what the patient's needs truly are. Accessible Pharmacy then becomes a member of the healthcare team, and coordinates all of their medication needs with the various physicians, as well as informing the individual patient of the various packaging options available for their medication's. These include braille, large print, and talking prescription labels provided by Script Talk all of which can be delivered to the patient's front door. Note: check out a previous episode of the Blind Abilities podcast for more detail regarding Script Talk . Alex Cohen was not born blind, but experienced severe nearsightedness in his youth, eventually being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at the wills hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Intent upon completing a degree in hotel management, Alex assumed the position of hotel manager in a local Philadelphia hotel. Recognizing that he was unable to continue in that career, he went back to school to become a professor who taught hotel management, a "hospitality professor". While working on his PhD thesis in marketing, he studied the marketing of various products within the disability community, specifically, how to make a more inclusive marketplace for people with disabilities. as he dug deeper, he realized that many websites of top companies across the nation were inaccessible. Moreover, he delved into the personal impact on the people, i.e. blind and visually impaired technology users as well as their families. He eventually identified substitutional empathy. Which causes friends and family members to feel the inconvenience and hardship of their disabled friends as they experience an accessible technological products. He and his partner and cofounder, Andy Burstein, embarked upon reaching out to see Pacific pharmacies to ask what services, if any they provided to blind and visually impaired customers. The results prompted the formation of accessible Pharmacy to fill the gap that clearly exists in that segment of the marketplace. They launched the company in May 2020, deep in the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their service of providing home delivery of prescription medication was particularly appealing to their consumer market during that time. The convenience of pre-sorting pills etc. was also appealing to blind and visually impaired customers who may have spent considerable time doing so on their own otherwise. They have now developed an app, Accessible Pharmacy on the App Store, that contains an OCR camera and QR code reader which is all voice activated. Customers can use that to read all of their prescription labels, as well as two access accessible pharmacy services online. Additionally, you can access their website at accessiblepharmacy.com or via their various social media platforms. They are also partnered with Seeing AIas a Specialized Help resource on that app. Dealing frequently with senior aged customers, Alex encourages users to contact the company by phone where they will not be subjected to multiple layers of menus and phone navigation hoops through which they must Jump. Ultimately he says they prefer to speak with their customers to get the full picture of their medical and health care needs. * Call 215799 9900. Currently registered and 31 states, Accessible Pharmacy continues to work to grow their company across the nation. they are also launching their new product line for pre-measured medication‘s for children, in order to aid buying and visually impaired parents, as well as their pet care medication line. They will also be providing educational seminars, and a conference on Diabetes and breast cancer awareness in which one may enroll via their website. Inclosing, Alex shares his advice with young blind and visually impaired individuals: don't deny yourself anything“. Do not let opportunities pass you by because of your blindness. Additionally, most people are kind and genuinely wish to help. Don't turn down an offer of assistance that might save you valuable time with which you can do more pleasurable and productive things elsewhere, such as spend time with your family, your kids, or doing something that is fun! Good advice Alex! Be sure to listen to this informative and enjoyable interview as Simon Bonenfant chats with Alex Cohen of Accessible Pharmacy a strong provider of a valuable service to the BVI community. Stay tuned as we give you the tools — and the inspiration you need — as I share my decades of experience and knowledge using this powerful medicine we call homeopathy. Kate: Hi Joette! Joette: Hi Kate! Nice to see you. Kate: Nice to see you. It looks like you’re in Florida. And you know how I can tell that? Joette: How can you tell? By my dress that’s all flowers and pinks and blues? Kate: That’s right. That’s right. Joette: Most folks probably don’t realize that we see each other. We’re remote. You’re up North. I’m in the South. But we see each other, and everyone else just hears us. But we watch each other and do this on a podcast that’s video. It’s fun. Kate: Yeah. So Joette, before we get started with the meat of this podcast today, I know that there’s something that you have in the works. Why don’t you just share a little bit about what’s going on? Joette: Well, we’re starting a course soon. It’s on the subject of toxins and homeopathy. How to address toxins; how to remove toxins; how to not fear toxins; how to live in a world that might have toxins in it. So, just watch out for that. If you happen to be a student, be sure to go to the student page because it will all be written up there. If you’re not a student, become a student! Learn how to do all of this. Watch for it, we’ll be giving information out about it on the blog, et cetera. Be sure to get on our email list because that’s where you’re going to get the information. Kate: Yes. People will be notified when you have new courses that come out. All right, well, here we go with another podcast today. I have a subject that comes up quite a bit. We just finished actually a study group for the Gateway to Homeopathy II study guide. I had a lovely group of women. It was super fun. I’m sad actually to be finished with that because — you know how it is — when you can connect with like-minded women every week. It’s just, it’s awesome! So, I already miss it. Joette: Yeah, it is awesome because it’s like, you know, like a pajama party. Kate: Right. Joette: Probably I’m showing my age now, but we used to set each other’s hair, put music on and talk about boys. Now, this is the mature type of pajama party. Kate: Exactly. It’s a mentally stimulating pajama party. Joette: Right. I can guarantee that the ones that we had in high school were not mentally stimulating. Kate: So, these women, when we get together, there are certain number of questions that seem to come up time and time again, or we just always want to dig deeper into them. One of the questions is: when we figure out the right remedy,

Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode. I really hope that everyone has been enjoying the new year so far. When it comes to resolutions for your business we all have unique desires and goals for our studios, but one I have seen time and time again on people’s list is to increase enrolment. Wel l in this episode I will be discussing just that! I will be giving you my best tips on how to reach your enrolment goals, and make 2018 be the year with your best student intake yet! With these tips I want you to keep in mind your personal goals, and have your resolutions list handy (or later if you are on the go). This will allow you to assess your current enrollment goals and what steps you need to take to achieve them, no matter how big or small they may be. So let’s dive into the the episode and I’ll let you in on my top 5 Tips: Marketing & Social media: Use your social media platforms to your advantage. Post consistently on your social channels. Use hashtags that are being used regularly that align with your studio. Use stories and videos on Instagram & share live /recorded videos to facebook. We all know how much the algorithm is changing - but LIVE video is performing extremely high still. You can get the students to share these to their social media so their friends can see. Create a facebook ad. There are certain requirements for making a well rounded FB ad, but overall having these ads will be helpful, especially because it allows you to zone in on your target audience. So you can attract not only more students but the type of students you want to take on in your studio. This can range anywhere from the age, gender, location and interests your students would have. Adding a blog to your website will also be beneficial as it increases your SEO, driving more traffic to your website and class enrolment features on there. If you want to learn more about this, you can listen episode 3. Stay up to date: It may be time for a mini studio makeover! Make sure your website is up to date with everything you offer. Get a friend, your partner or someone on your team to sit down and make a note of any outdated links, broken links, old information or even language or photos that might need a little spruce. If someone is interested in signing up for a class, event or workshop, make sure those events are up to date, and have the option to book in. Keep up to date with contact info; phone number, address, email etc. Make it really easy to contact you! Keep your teachers page, about page, as well as testimonials up to date. You don’t want info about someone who no longer works there, or a testimonial from 5 years ago. Keep it fresh and visually appealing so people are more willing to sign up. Be up to date with all your automated emails, email blast, and newsletters. Send to current, and past students, or anyone who has ever attended an event. Keeping everyone up to date with what is happening at your studio may draw in others from the past who want to take another class or even a workshop. You don’t want anyone to miss out! 3.Student’s Friends: Bring a friend week Friends who dance together stay together Those who love to dance will attract those who also love to dance Attracting those who align with the same values Provide a ‘refer a friend’ discount to that student Use the generation of technology to your advantage by occasionally allowing students to film for facebook or Instagram to share with their friends. That way they can tag their location and let others know where the studio is. Student appreciation party and new registration open house for 2-3 hours including a cake. You could open this up to your current students and invite them to also bring a friend to party with! 4.Create your own special promotions that work within your budget You don’t have to go handing out free things left right and centre to get new students but it’s okay to offer discounts or promotions, especially when it comes to enrollment or when you are first starting out. Free or discounted registration before a given date Give away 1 spot in a workshop free when entering a prize or auction with a local fundraiser Free workshop for the holidays, beginning of a term or year, or when first opening your studio. I don’t recommend discounting classes on a regular basis - but the above will get people excited and encourage them to take action early. Priority re-enrolment for current students. They are your VIPs after all! 5.Community: Get involved with community events, make your presence know. Post ads and events on community facebook pages or newspapers for free. Give classes at a local school and bring pamphlets for students who are interested in dance classes to bring home information to their parents. Attend fundraisers or event host one! Use word of mouth and tell family members, friends who may have children and neighbours the new exciting events and classes at your studio and tell them to tell others! Try and organise a ‘dance tour’ with your performance or competition team to a few of the local schools with a couple of dances. There is themed weeks throughout the year, where you are more likely to be invited. You showcase your talents and hopefully leave a postcard or flyer with studio info for each child, or interested children to take home. Contact your local preschools or mothers group and offer to give them a free class, or open your studio up to a special ‘play date’ where they can attend. Either for a very small fee or for free. The more you can grow your Preschool program, the better! So there are by top 5 tips for increasing enrollment for the remainder of the year and years to come. I hope these tips were helpful to you when planning your enrollment goals and resolutions for your studio. Remember at the end of the day your success if not defined by the number of students you have, but rather how you are impacting your students in a positive way within your studio. I wish everyone an awesome week. Until next time, keep dancing your way to the business you have always desired. Bye for now!
