By focusing on optimal function and independence, her goal is to help your beloved pet enjoy a longer, more active life. And you don't have to live in Oklahoma to obtain their services!Physical therapy for senior dogs is not just a luxury; it's a vital component of maintaining their quality of life. As dogs age, they can suffer from degenerative conditions such as arthritis or hip dysplasia, which might limit their mobility and affect their overall well-being. Engaging in tailored physical therapy helps to improve joint function, build muscle strength, and enhance flexibility. This proactive approach can reduce pain levels and even delay the progression of certain age-related ailments. Beyond physical benefits, therapy offers mental stimulation that is equally crucial for seniors. Activities like hydrotherapy or guided exercises keep your dog engaged, providing them with purpose and enjoyment during a time that can often lead to lethargy or behavioral issues. Additionally, the bond between you and your dog strengthens through shared experiences in therapy sessions, fostering trust and deeper connection. Investing in physical therapy not only prolongs mobility but enriches your dog's golden years with vitality and joy that echo through every wagging tail. At Oklahoma K9 PT, they understand that you may have questions regarding costs and service availability before making decisions about your pet's health care. If you're interested in learning more about their comprehensive approach to pain management and mobility enhancement for your furry friend, you can visit their website and complete a brief form that will help them determine how best to assist your canine companion on their journey toward improved well-being. Bonus! Since Greg Lambert is on vacation, we wanted to share an episode of Future Ready Business podcast, which Greg also produces. Art Cavazos and Courtney White from Jackson Walker, LLP, interview Neil Chilson, Head of AI Policy at the Abundance Institute, and Travis Wussow, regulatory and governmental affairs lawyer Partner at JW. Neil and Travis had worked together at the Charles Koch Institute and are both heavily involved in advising governmental agencies and policy makers on the topic of AI. Neil Chilson and Travis Wussow both emphasize the complexity of regulating AI due to its broad applications and the difficulty in defining it. They argue that most AI applications fall into areas that already have existing regulatory frameworks, such as healthcare, intellectual property, and transportation. Chilson suggests that policymakers should focus on identifying specific harms and addressing gaps in current regulations rather than creating entirely new frameworks for AI. Regarding current AI policy, Wussow notes that litigation is already underway, particularly in areas like copyright infringement. He believes that proactive policymaking will likely wait until these legal disputes are resolved. Chilson highlights that there is significant activity at the federal level, with the White House issuing a comprehensive executive order on AI, and at the state level, with numerous AI-related bills being proposed. On the topic of AI's potential impact on elections and misinformation, Chilson expresses less concern about AI-generated content itself and more about the distribution networks that spread misinformation. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining trust in the electoral system and suggests that tracking and analyzing actual instances of AI use in elections is crucial for understanding its real impact. Looking to the future, both experts stress the importance of the United States maintaining its leadership in AI development. They argue that this leadership is essential for embedding American values into AI systems and preventing other countries, such as China, from dominating the field with potentially restrictive approaches. Chilson also highlights the potential for AI to revolutionize healthcare, emphasizing the need to adapt regulatory frameworks, particularly in areas like FDA approval processes, to allow for the benefits of AI-driven personalized medicine while ensuring safety and efficacy. Dr. Courtney White talks about racial disparities in treatment and why the syndrome is misunderstood: “People think it's just a bad headache and that you can tough through it -- take some over the counter medications. And this is not true, this is a neurological disease.”  Then Jaime Sanders, who has lived with daily migraine pain for forty years, tells why she pushes for better access to care, and talks about her advocacy goals:  “To make sure that everyone is seen and heard and validated and respected. I've gone through so much of my life being dismissed, and I know how that feels not being believed.”  Links: Coalition for Headache and Migraine Patients, the Disparities in Headache Advisory Council, The Migraine Diva blog. Mike has written a handful of books about business and entrepreneurship, including Profit First, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, and The Pumpkin Plan. His newest book comes out next week – Fix This Next: Make the Vital Change That Will Level Up Your Business. Mike joined us to talk about what entrepreneurship looks like these days, with the economy seeming to kinda sorta be falling apart. We also dig into Fix This Next and Mike’s biggest tips for your business. As we hit on in the podcast, Mike is a big advocate of the idea that bigger is not always better when it come to the size of your business. And our second guest, Courtney White, is living proof of that. Courtney launched the beautiful ecommerce store Finer and Dandy, and she is living proof you don’t need to be making six figures a year on your store to have a thriving online business. She loves the community that has emerged around her brand, and she loves that she still has time to parent her three children and five (!) dogs. Courtney had a whole handful of side hustles before she landed on Finer and Dandy, we hit on those, we hit on her somewhat bizarre Instagram marketing strategy, and we also hit on how ecommerce has helped her find some confidence and some nerve that she didn’t know she had. Carbon has become synonymous with “the problem,” but all terrestrial life is based on carbon, and figuring out the carbon cycle is a prerequisite to taking effective climate action. As a continuation of our exploration of restoration agriculture with Mark Shepard, we discuss grassland ecosystems and their capacity to pull massive amounts of carbon out of the atmosphere and back into the ground—representing a real, promising solution to our planetary crisis. Globally, 99% of grasslands are drought-stricken, overgrazed, and weakened by exotic species invasions. With some subtle adjustments to cattle management and some basic awareness of the carbon cycle, we can make a large dent in greenhouse emissions. Imagine what we can do with some more radical changes!Courtney White, formerly a frontline environmental activist and author of Grass, Soil, Hope, is tapping this extraordinary potential by bringing “carbon ranching” to the American Southwest through his work with the Quivira Coalition.

How is farming tied to carbon and how does carbon keep life on earth possible? Find out on a very elemental and scientific episode of The Farm Report as host Erin Fairbanks is joined by Courtney White, the author of Grass, Soil, Hope. A former archaeologist and Sierra Club activist, White dropped out of the ‘conflict industry’ in 1997 to co-found the Quivira Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to building bridges between ranchers, conservationists, public land managers, scientists, and others around the idea of land health. On today’s show, Courtney explains what makes carbon such an essential part of the soil (and the earth) and introduces some alternative methods of farming that could help bring more carbon into our soil. The answer is biological farming – not chemical farming, and Courtney makes a clear case for out of the box thinking when it comes to our land and soil. Tune in and learn about the real issues in the ground and on the minds of sustainable agricultural thinkers everywhere. This program was brought to you by Cain Vineyard & Winery. “How carbon gets cycled is extremely important to maintaining life on this planet!” [02:45] “We want biological farming not chemical farming.” [05:16] “If we want to store more carbon we have to stop killing the fungi in the soil.” [07:36] “If you have a practice that increases plant vigor and makes plants happy, you’re storing more carbon in the soil.” [12:40] “Changes start in the margin, ideas start on the outside and move in over time…but how do you get them to speed up that journey to the center? That’s tough. We need policy changes and we have such a dysfunctional political system right now” [20:42] –Courtney White on The Farm Report

The Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies hosted a Symposium on April 3rd, 2009 honoring Aldo Leopold’s Graduation Centennial from the school and his acclaimed contributions to environmental conservation.
