This week the girls take aim at... Movies on Disney +Amy opened tonight's topic by explaining that this week we decided to do another round of a topic we did last year called Hey Watch This Movie. The rules are simple. Each co-host picks a movie for another co-host which the viewing co-host has not seen. The viewing co-host will then report back on what she thought of the movie. This time around we decided to narrow the search to movies available on Disney +.Amy was required to review the movie Darby O'Gill and the Little People released in 1959. Much to Amy's surprise she really liked the movie, although it might have had a lot to do with a very handsome young Sean Connery who co-stars in the movie.Sarah was assigned Down Periscope and noted that it was "sufficiently funny".  The movie was released in 1996 and stars Kelsey Grammer and many well-known actors from the 90s.  Bianca finished us off by giving us a blow-by-blow of her thoughts through each part of the movie she was tasked with being Alien vs Predator. Bianca was so engrossed by the movie, many of her thoughts are not even sentences. It's like listening to her brain work. We say it every week, however, we really want to hear from our listeners. In the first of two St. Patrick's Day focused podcasts, Episode 2.10, we review some well-aged St. Patrick's Day movies and TV specials, as well as share traditions and fun activities for families. This was meant to be Part 2 of 2 St. Patrick's Day podcasts, but due to an unfortunate circumstance we completely lost Part 1 and ended up recording it later - so now this is Part 1! Randy reviews two St. Patrick's Day movies, The Luck of the Irish (1948) and Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959) with Sean Connery, both of which are still worth watching. Cole walks through the Rankin-Bass Animagic special, The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold (1981). And how do we celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Beth shares some of the many traditions associated with this fun holiday while Sydney walks through several fun crafts and activities to do as a family. Inspiration is a funny friend. It finds you and guides you. It takes you to strange and wonderful places. It introduces you to heroes. I started playing Celtic music in 1999... by accident. I had three "Celtic" songs in my song repertoire: "The Scotsman", "Irish Ballad" by Tom Lehrer, and an original Enya-esque song with nonsensical lyrics called "Lounging in La La Land". I was practicing on the South Mall at the University of Texas at Austin when red-haired gentleman asked if I'd like to perform at a Renaissance festival. As a Dungeons & Dragons nerd, I was so excited I asked my friend Andrew McKee to start a band with me. Soon the Brobdingnagian Bards found new Celtic music heroes and inspiration. For me, it was The Wolfe Tones, Christy Moore, The Irish Balladeers, and some random cassette that was called Irish Drinking Songs. That was my introduction to Celtic music. Those were my first Celtic music heroes. Later, I added Ed Miller, Serious Kitchen (featuring Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer), Dougie MacLean, The Elders, Gaelic Storm, Clandestine, and even Bing Crosby. So of course many of these you have heard on my podcasts. Who are your Celtic music heroes? Welcome to the Pub Songs Podcast, the virtual Public House for Celtic culture and change through music. My name is Marc Gunn. I am a Celtic Geek musician and your guide to a kinder, happier world. Old as Ireland itself, these whimsical folktales bring you the jumble and tumble of men and magical creatures who walk the lanes of the Emerald Isle by day and wander its fields by night. Henpecked husbands scheme to get rich; ghosts roam the land seeking rest. Amanda starts us out with her best Irish accent. We introduce a new segment thanks to one of our fans! Pretty Irish Girl song. Our accidental Irish outfits. Starring a young Sean Connery! Churning butter seems so time consuming. Snooping around in front of people isn’t snooping. The accents make it tough to understand. Phil had a United States History class taught by an Irish guy. If you get three wishes, always choose gold as one of them. Don’t accidentally go for a fourth wish! Sean Connery and his famous accent. Seems like a decent retirement package. I’ll pay you with sound. Phil’s rainbow chase. Size ratios and fiddles. Downing buckets of whisky and advice from horses. Silicon Valley - Jared's version of taking a shot. Kings and cats. Phil’s leprechaun traps. Picnic baskets and hazardous hot bread. Game – James Bond (Bond trivia and Sporcle quiz). Amanda gets offended by the King. Her date dress is homely at best. Don’t propose in the middle of a fight. All of a sudden there are banshees? Dark ending? Reversed wishes and plot holes. Is Darby or is he just a senile old man? Phil messes up Epcot World Showcase. Folklore nuggets. Phil can’t spell the word carriage. Forced laughter and cup sitting. Special effects bonus feature was better than the movie. Next episode – Third Man on the Mountain

I can play harmonica, look at that advertisement! Game – Finding our dog names. Buzz has two dates. If you grab a paw instead of a hand, you’d know. Most complicated plot for no reason. Melissa used to pretend to be a dog. How would you realize you’re not still fighting a dog? The end goes against what the entire movie taught us. I like you better as a dog than a brother. Faith and begorrah! Time to grab your blarney stone or find a four-leaf clover, dearies, because just in time for St. Patrick's Day, Mousterpiece Cinema is celebrating in style. (Here, "style" means doing goofy Irish accents a fair bit.) Only two days before the holiday when everyone's Irish, Josh and Gabe look back at one of the earliest Disney live-action films, Darby O'Gill and the Little People. And how, exactly, does this quaint little story about leprechauns and their pots of gold connect to...Buffy the Vampire Slayer? You'll have to get lucky and listen to the show to find out!
