The future can be a terrifying, anxiety-inducing destination for many people. Thoughts of robots running amok, out-of-control AI, and a speed of life that is beyond comprehension are often ways in which the future is described. That doesn't have to be the case. In fact, the future doesn't have to be something that happens to people. The future can be created. That's the position of Dr. Bertalan Meskó. He is a futurist who has focused his career studying healthcare and advances in the field of medicine. He is also the author of the book “Your Map to the Future.” In this interview, Dr. Meskó discusses why becoming a future-thinking leader can be beneficial to all of us and help our teams perform better. He goes on to discuss methods like “vision writing” and forecasting, how our “future selves” will be grateful for our current healthy investments, and how people can create their own “anticipatory consciousness.” Dr. Meskó is known as the “Medical Futurist.” He concludes the interview by talking about the medical breakthroughs that fill him with optimism, his vision for the future of aging, and the mistakes humans are making today that the people of 2075 will shake their heads at in disbelief.Dr. Bertalan Meskó, PhD, known as The Medical Futurist, is the Director of The Medical Futurist Institute. He specializes in analyzing the impact of science fiction technologies on global medicine and healthcare. He is also an Amazon Top 100 author and serves as a Private Professor at Semmelweis Medical School in Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Meskó's research focuses on the role of artificial intelligence and digital health technologies in shaping the future of care. He is a member of the "Committee on Future Research" of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Dedicated to pioneering medical futures studies as a scientific discipline, Dr. Meskó aims to make futures methods widely accessible in healthcare. He is a Certified Superforecaster for Good Judgment, Inc.

I know it'll be a bit of a challenge to do a short episode on today's topic of “How to Create the Future You Want”. There's no one size fits all, and general tips almost sound…well…too general. But, I'm going to give it a go anyhow. It's a big topic, and I hope I can do it justice in this episode. Paul Gruenwald, chief economist at S&P Global Ratings, says that he doesn't see the economy going into a recession, allowing the Federal Reserve to cut rates "at a leisurely pace" and to get through inflation-reduction with a soft landing. Gruenwald recently raised his growth projection for the economy and he says the strong economy is letting the Fed take its time in cutting rates, but that current levels of 5.25 percent are too high. He doesn't expect the central bank to cut rates below 3 percent, which he expects it to reach with a few rate cuts this year starting in June and four to five cuts next year. Larry Tentarelli, founder/chief technical strategist, Blue Chip Daily Trend Report says the market's upward trend has room to run. As a technician, Tentarelli says the most bullish signal is a market at new highs because there is no overhead resistance, and while he expects some small, normal pullbacks along the way, he expects the long-term move to be higher. Plus, David Trainer, president at New Constructs, revisits a meme stock in The Danger Zone and author Anne Lester discusses her new book, "Your Best Financial Life: Save Smart Now for the Future You Want."

We've been thinking a lot about “Peak 65” over here at HerMoney HQ. If you haven't heard about it, it's the fact that more people are turning 65 starting this year than at any other point in history. That's important because this age shift is going to have a huge impact on everything, including our economy, Social Security, the upcoming election, and especially on retirement. Anne Lester, former head of retirement solutions for J.P. Morgan Asset Management Solution Group wants everyone to know that planning for retirement doesn't have to be so scary — it can be empowering and, yes, even fun. In her new book: “Your Best Financial Life: Save Smart Now for the Future You Want” she talks about how she finally broke free from living paycheck-to-paycheck, and was able to retire early on her terms. How many times have you said the following, “I'm really going to focus on saving money this year,” only to find yourself doing quite the opposite? And then there are those sneaky costs in your spending, like countless subscriptions you might not even be using. As our guest, Anne Lester, a retirement expert, media commentator, top-rated speaker, and author of the new book Your Best Financial Life: Save Smart Now for the Future You Want, says most people feel like they don't have enough money to do the things they want to do, so saving money isn't a priority. It's not your fault; you are wired to want nicer things. You are wired to spend money to make yourself feel better - back to my point that money is emotional. Have you ever heard of the hedonic treadmill? It's the idea that getting nicer things and spending more money doesn't equate to happiness in the long term. So, if spending more money doesn't mean more happiness, why not focus on learning how to become a better saver to afford the things you want to do? In this episode, Anne shares: How to master saving money in 2024 Why you need to consider a subscription cleanse Ways to build good savings habits like not spending your entire raise How to use your money personality to help you become a better saver Links Your Best Financial Life book Anne's website Thank you for being a part of our community!
