Nothing prepares you for another morning of daily comedy quite like sleeping through THREE alarms, which is exactly how Lern nearly started her day. That kicks off a very serious investigation into how everybody wakes up. Lern prefers a gradual approach, with increasingly aggressive alarms and songs like “Spooky.” Rizz and Rafe apparently prefer waking up like a nuclear submarine has just discovered an incoming torpedo. Moon wants something gentle enough that his heart doesn't immediately file for workers' comp.Which alarm actually works? Something soothing? “Eye of the Tiger”? “Smells Like Teen Spirit”? A drill sergeant screaming at you while beating trash cans together?Anything is better than accidentally incorporating your alarm into your dream and waking up ten minutes after you were supposed to be a functioning adult. But why bother waking up at all? Apparently AI might kill us by 2030.Rizz brings in warnings attributed to people who have worked inside the AI industry about self-improving artificial intelligence, the difficulty of controlling increasingly capable systems and the possibility that humanity could become collateral damage without AI ever needing to become “evil.” Think less Terminator intentionally hunting Sarah Connor and more humans becoming the anthill somebody paved over while building a highway. That launches Rizz, Lern, Moon and Rafe into a surprisingly deep debate about artificial intelligence, regulation, infrastructure, jobs, humanoid robots, technological progress and whether we should be optimistic about what comes next or start practicing our best Matrix battery impressions.Naturally, this leads directly into death.Because this is daily comedy, and apparently we have transitions now.If somebody handed you an envelope containing the exact date you'll die, would you open it? What about how you die? Would you want to know who attends your funeral? The biggest opportunity you unknowingly missed? Or who secretly has a crush on you?Everyone has a different answer until the crew lands on the most terrifying hypothetical imaginable: learning that you will eventually die by meatball.Do you stop eating meatballs forever? Does avoiding them even matter if fate has already decided? Does a waiter eventually drop a tray and launch your destiny directly into your mouth? Suddenly Rizz is spending the rest of his life looking over his shoulder while tiny meatballs roll ominously down the street behind him.The funeral discussion somehow gets even better when Rafe introduces the concept of a “coffin confessor” — someone hired before your death to attend your funeral and settle scores with people on your behalf. Rizz immediately sounds like a potential customer. Then everybody debates missed opportunities, secret crushes and Moon's claim that when a relationship is truly right, marriage doesn't necessarily have to be hard. Rafe quickly translates this into “get divorced today,” which is definitely not what Moon said but is much funnier for everyone else.Thankfully, National TV Dinner Day arrives before the relationship segment can destroy any actual marriages. The crew takes a nostalgia trip through Swanson fried chicken dinners, Banquet Salisbury steak, Hungry Man turkey dinners, Kid Cuisine, Stouffer's mac and cheese, Bagel Bites and the scorching brownie that somehow always had one renegade kernel of corn trapped inside it.That inspires perhaps the greatest terrible business idea in Rizz Show history: Stepfather's Pizza.Imagine a restaurant built around divorced-dad energy. TV dinners. Pizza. Old TVs at every booth playing MAS*H, Cheers, the Weather Channel and cheaply produced World War II documentaries. Dim lighting. Patchouli. Semi-folded laundry. Smoke alarms chirping because nobody replaced the battery. It's not a restaurant. It's an atmosphere of mild disappointment. The crew also celebrates the upcoming Cheesecake Factory location at West County Mall while trying to identify exactly what architectural theme Cheesecake Factory has been going for all these years. Egyptian? Greek? Mediterranean? Haunted Indiana Jones warehouse? The answer appears to be “yes.”From alarm-clock trauma to AI extinction, meatball destiny, funeral grudges, marriage debates and frozen Salisbury steak, this episode somehow turns existential dread into daily comedy — which is probably healthier than actually solving any of these problems.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Rizzuto Show starts innocently enough with football picks and somehow ends up asking whether artificial intelligence will wipe out humanity — with stops along the way for NASCAR drivers, a $34 million brothel empire, terrible celebrity guesses, folding phones, wedding-band disasters and the very real possibility that Rizz could someday be killed by a meatball. So, pretty standard week around here. The Seahawks kick off a strategic scoring controversy as the crew tries to figure out how Devon fits into their competition against The Fast Lane. Does her score count? Does the other team need another player? Should they take the best five scores? Why did nobody figure this out before the season started? These are questions normally reserved for leagues with commissioners and bylaws. Instead, we have Rizz. Then Take Five takes over, as listeners try to match answers with Lern, Moon, Devon and Rizz for concert tickets. Lern survives the dreaded “NFL team with an animal mascot” category by landing on Jaguars with her fifth and final guess. Moon, meanwhile, is asked to name a Beatles song and confidently begins with “Let It Go,” briefly creating the greatest Beatles/Frozen crossover nobody requested.Moon then proceeds to tour the entire Adam Sandler filmography without finding Big Daddy and gets painfully close to Deep Purple by wandering around “deep blue something.” Devon temporarily forgets that famous people named Mike exist, while Rizz correctly identifies Frosted Flakes on his first try before losing the entire game because his caller named fictional supervillain Lex Luthor as a “famous bald person.” Technically correct. Emotionally devastating.Today's show somehow raises the stakes by presenting the crew with the investment opportunity of a lifetime: the Bunny Ranch legacy portfolio in Nevada for roughly $34 million.Suddenly Rizz and the gang are analyzing brothel real estate, acreage, branding, financials and whether the oldest profession might be recession-proof. Lern reminisces about HBO's Cathouse, Moon wants to see the P&Ls, and everyone briefly becomes an investment expert in an industry where absolutely nobody should trust their advice. Then a Nebraska musician accused of taking deposits, double- and triple-booking events and sending multiple clients the same last-minute car-accident excuse gets Lern and Moon talking about the realities of working musicians and why ruining somebody's wedding is generally considered poor customer service.Technology gets its turn when the crew debates an expensive foldable iPhone, whether anyone should ever buy the first generation of a new gadget, planned obsolescence and the eternal Apple-versus-Android battle. Rizz's Meta glasses also spark the important distinction that not everyone wearing them is a creep…but apparently every creep might own a pair. There's also Nirvana, Billy Joel, Soundgarden, streaming-password confusion and NASCAR drivers Jordan Anderson, Blaine Perkins and Jeb Burton joining the day's lineup ahead of racing at World Wide Technology Raceway. Because why have one coherent theme when you can have seventeen? So far things have been far too normal.Lern nearly sleeps through three alarms, launching a full investigation into how everyone wakes up. Some people prefer peaceful gradual sounds. Rizz and Rafe apparently prefer alarms that simulate catastrophic submarine emergencies. Moon explains why using birds as an alarm eventually trained his brain to associate actual birds with going to work, which feels like an unnecessary punishment for both Moon and nature. From there, Rizz introduces the cheerful morning topic of whether AI could eventually pose an existential threat to humanity. The crew dives into warnings surrounding increasingly powerful artificial intelligence, self-improving systems, oversight, regulation, infrastructure and the difference between AI actively hating humans and simply not caring about us at all. Terminator gets mentioned, obviously, but the scarier discussion is whether something vastly more intelligent than humans could eventually treat us the way humans treat an anthill sitting where we want to build a highway. You know. Light morning entertainment. That leads naturally — somehow — into questions about death. Would you want to know the exact date you die? Would you want to know how? Who attends your funeral? What was your biggest missed opportunity? And most importantly: what happens if Rizz learns he dies by meatball?Suddenly every plate of spaghetti becomes a potential crime scene. A rogue meatball could come from anywhere. A restaurant. A waiter. Across the room. Knowing your fate doesn't necessarily help when your fate is apparently covered in marinara. The crew also gets nostalgic over TV dinners, Hungry Man meals, Salisbury steak, dangerously hot desserts and the random corn kernel that somehow migrated into every compartment. The upcoming Cheesecake Factory leads to a discussion about its famously over-the-top decor, which then inspires an even better — and substantially worse — restaurant concept: Stepfather's Pizza.Picture the divorced-dad dining experience perfected. Old televisions playing MAS*H, Cheers, Weather Channel and World War II documentaries. Dim lighting. Half-folded laundry. A smoke detector chirping somewhere in the distance. Finally, a restaurant where the atmosphere says, “Your mother will pick you up Sunday at six.”Across these three episodes, The Rizzuto Show delivers exactly what a comedy podcast should: sports arguments nobody prepared for, games nobody can successfully play, celebrity and music chaos, questionable investment opportunities, technology nobody needs, existential dread nobody requested and enough bizarre hypotheticals to make you reconsider answering questions around these people.Come for the Seahawks, NASCAR and celebrity news. Stay for Moon rewriting Beatles history, Rizz shopping for brothels, Lern fighting her alarm clock, Devon forgetting every Mike on Earth, AI potentially destroying civilization and one meatball patiently waiting to fulfill its destiny.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.‘Gambling with our lives': Another AI employee quits over safety concernsThe Greatest TV Dinners From Recent HistoryWest County Mall Cheesecake Factory set to open in NovemberApple joins foldable phone race with $1999 passport-shaped iPhone DuoSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Gen Z is reshaping the frozen food game… and they're not settling for TV dinners. But while they're hungry for health and convenience, there's a catch: the price tag. Can wellness-focused frozen meals stay accessible, or are they becoming a luxury in disguise? The hosts discuss, and also sample Korean-style hard seltzers, culturally-inspired craft sodas and a potentially game-changing brand of non-alcoholic spirits. Show notes: 0:35: Voice Nail. A Notable List. Investors Here. Bites & Chews. So Long, Stouffer's. Trash Panda. NA Negronis. – The hosts chat about disliking the sound of their own voices before spotlighting the release of the 2025 NOSH Notables list, which honors leaders and innovators in food. They also highlight the number of investors registered for Taste Radio's Chicago Meetup, which takes place on August 14. Mike and John discuss standout finds from a recent UNFI show, including latke-inspired crisps, “baguette bites,” and low-sugar gummies. The hosts then turn their attention toward the growing trend of premium frozen meals and note the balance between health, convenience, and cost as a key consumer concern. They wrap up the show with a sampling of a hard seltzer made with fermented rice, a Twizzler-style candy brand, and a brand of alcohol alternatives that de-alcoholizes wine and spirits to create products that closely mimic whiskey, Campari, mezcal and more. Also, here's more about Ivan in Ivan's website's own words: "Ivan Rubenstein-Gillis is a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based out of New York. With deep roots in folk, rock, jazz, world music and modern poetics, Ivan brings a rare sense of craft, intellectual provocation and emotional expression to his work. Ivan grew up in a creative family and from an early age was exposed to great music, books and visual art from all around the world. He played piano as a kid and began putting lyrics and chord patterns together around the age of 10 ... Bought his first guitar in high school and later added mandolin, banjo, harmonica, bass and other instruments to the mix. Over the course of his eclectic career, Ivan has written hundreds of songs and instrumental pieces, produced and recorded albums across various genres, composed for dance and theater and performed with great musicians in many styles. The primary focus of Ivan's creative life has been his songwriting. To date, he has recorded 11 albums of original material as a solo artist, collaborating with extraordinary rhythm sections, instrumentalists and singers along the way. His songs have won grants and awards, have been performed by numerous artists and choirs, have been featured in a number of movies, documentaries and PSAs, and have become part of the American musical landscape for his many admirers. Two of his songs were featured in a worldwide viral video produced for the United Nations Environmental Program regarding the evils of single-use plastics. Outside of his own material, Ivan enjoyed a very successful collaboration with legendary trombonist Roswell Rudd over the last decade of his life. Ivan played with Rudd's dynamic MaliCool band in 2007 and produced Feeling Good (a tribute to Nina Simone) - the lead track off of Rudd's 2011 album The Incredible Honk.  In 2013-2014, Ivan produced Trombone For Lovers, an epic collection of American standards which included the house band of John Medeski, Aaron Comess and Richard Hammond, plus guest appearances from Bob Dorough, Faye Victor, Gary Lucas, Michael Doucet, Steven Bernstein, The NYC Labor Choir and other luminaries. TFL received a four star review in Downbeat and generated raves around the world. Roswell performed with Ivan and his band on numerous occasions and guested on several of Ivan's albums, including in the guise of a braying elephant on dogz and katz, a choice cut from Ivan's 2016 album The Lion. Ivan and Roswell continued to work together on new compositions and arrangements right up until Roswell died in December of 2017. Ivan produced and played multiple instruments on "Songs From Home" - a well-received  'pandemic EP' with fellow Rudd collaborator (and wonderful singer ) Heather Masse, featuring some of their favorite classics, reimagined for quarantine. Ivan's latest project - 500 Suns - is a collaboration with the great rhythm section of Craig Santiago and Scott Petito - an uplifting soulful band based out of the Hudson Valley featuring Shawn Dawn, Kendra McKinley and Leslie Ritter on vocals. Ivan's deep love for many different types of music has allowed him to play around the margins of numerous genres, and has led to longstanding musical relationships with Meyer Horn (drums), Adam Small (bass), Craig Santiago (drums), Scott Petito (bass), Aaron Comess (drums), Richard Hammond (bass), Heather Masse (voice), Cat Martino (voice), Leah Siegel (voice), Lexy Casano (cabaret artist), Clarence Ferrari (flame throwing fiddler), Arne Wendt (organist), Rod Sherwood (producer), David Grausman (piano) and David Brahinsky (NJ-based folksinger), among many others. Ivan has also worked extensively as a music educator, concert producer and "musical activist" - utilizing his talent and experience in the service of providing musical opportunities to underserved populations. Ivan has played at countless benefit concerts, fundraisers and community events and always appreciates the opportunity to play music in the service of a worthy cause.  Along with the music, Ivan writes satire, short stories, poems and the occasional expository essay. He also likes to draw funny sketches." Thanks and love, all!

Perfectly Unfinished Conversations | It's Good Enough, Let's Go!

In this episode, Coach Jo and Coach Kim ask the million dollar question: why do we eat like college students or unsupervised thirteen-year-olds? They tackle the issue of real food versus processed food and the easy fast food companies have created for our busy lives that do not help our bodies. Why do we reach for chips instead of chicken? And how do we start eating like grown ups? Coach Jo and Coach Kim get real about what's in snack food, the allure of sugar, and why protein needs our full attention.Their conversation highlights the realities of our busy lives, where we just can't find time and energy to make real food, how convenience food is chemically designed to draw us in but never satisfy, and the hard truth about cooking like a grown up. Coach Jo and Coach Kim talk about feeling a dopamine rush versus satiety, sugar cravings versus real energy, and how to think about food purchasing and planning strategically. And they talk about taste! It has to taste good. How do we accomplish that? Discipline, willpower, and listening to Coach Jo and Coach Kim walk us through eating like grown ups. —Contact Joely Churchill and Kim Berube | Iron Lab: Website: IronLabLacombe.comInstagram: Iron.Lab.LacombeFacebook: IronLabLacombeCoach Jo Instagram: @CoachJoChurchCoach Kim Instagram: @CoachKimBerubeCourse: Metabolic Blueprint—Transcript Coach Jo: [00:00:08] Welcome to Perfectly Unfinished Conversations, the Iron Lab podcast with Coach Jo. Coach Kim: [00:00:13] And Coach Kim. Coach Jo: [00:00:15] Where you ride shotgun with us as we have raw, real, unfiltered and unfinished conversations about trying to eat, sleep, train, and live with some integrity in a messy, imperfect life. Coach Kim: [00:00:27] We are all about creating a strong support system, taking radical personal responsibility, having fun, and being authentic. And one of the most common themes you're going to find in this podcast is the idea that we create positive momentum in our life by doing what we call B-minus work. Coach Jo: [00:00:45] We are making gains and getting ahead and loving life without self-sabotaging our goals by striving for perfection. We get it done by moving ahead. Coach Kim: [00:00:55] Before we're ready... Coach Jo: [00:00:56] ... When we aren't feeling like it... Coach Kim: [00:00:58] ... Let's go. Coach Jo: [00:01:10] All right, we're back for another perfectly unfinished conversation. And today we're tackling something that we think way too many people can relate to. Like, why do we still eat like unsupervised 13 year olds? Or better yet, how the hell do we start eating like actual grown ups when the world just keeps shoving Pop-Tarts and granola bars and artificially dyed beverages in our faces? Speaking of artificially dyed beverages, did you know that they have a Skittles drink now that I saw? Coach Kim: [00:01:39] I saw it in the grocery store. Coach Jo: [00:01:39] I was like, are you kidding me? My kid was like, I want that. I'm like, no, I said that makes you sick, I told him. Coach Kim: [00:01:46] Oh, really? Yeah. I don't blame you. Coach Jo: [00:01:49] But anyways, let's chat about all this today. And don't forget, stick around until the end of this episode, because we've got a little update on what's next for the perfectly unfinished. So don't miss it. Coach Kim: [00:01:59] So spoiler alert. A lot of this conversation we need to hear. So honestly, that includes me. Like if I didn't make a conscious effort, my default would still to this day be some variation of gluten free toast, peanut butter, and way too much coffee. And listen, at almost 55, I should fucking know better. Coach Jo: [00:02:22] Right? Like, I have two kids, I run a business, I know how to structure my life, and yet the sheer willpower it takes to not just like eat a handful of goldfish crackers any time of day throughout my house, like, even just as a lunch. But like, if that's just my lunch while running around my house, like, it's just ridiculous. So, like, what is wrong with us, Kim? Coach Kim: [00:02:42] Well, I think we were set up to fail, right? I've told Jo this before. When I had my first two kids, 1992 and 1994, I refer to the 90s and early 2000 as my Oprah years, pre lost in the void of my cell phone era, when I was working outside the home Monday to Friday, and I had four kids between the ages of 4 and 14 and I was where you're at, I was fucking tapped out. And I would come home at night and cook dinner and listen to Oprah in the living room on TV. And the television taught me that McCain's deep dish pizza was part of a well-balanced diet, and that I could absolutely, with certainty, trust everything that had the green check mark on the box. And so between the 80s and 90s, that low fat, low calorie diet culture era and the rise and accessibility of processed food, because you and I have talked about this too before, where when I was a kid, 1974, 76, 78, going through the grocery store, you did not have an aisle, an entire aisle of cereal. You did not. You had a section that might have had Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops, Rice Krispies. Corn Flakes. Muesli. Puffed rice. Puffed wheat. That was it. Like you did not have the accessibility of processed food with all of the marketing that we do now. And on top of it, in the 90s, we were raising latchkey kids, right? Who in that time, it was still okay for kids to get themselves home from school and keep themselves busy until the parents got home. You know, but they developed the shittiest eating habits. And we're just now unpacking and unlearning decades of bad programing every time we pick up a vegetable. Coach Jo: [00:04:35] Exactly like we grew up thinking microwave dinners. Like Kraft Dinner. Coach Kim: [00:04:41] Lean Cuisine. Coach Jo: [00:04:42] Yeah. Hungry Man. I remember there's a couple Hungry Mans in the deep freeze in the garage, you guys will be okay, right? We'll see you tomorrow. And they just, like, leave. And I'd be like, it'd be the best thing ever. And then, funny story enough, me and my cousin, one time we decided to go buy one to have like some childhood memory of it for like later in the day we we ate it and we were like, it was the most disgusting thing. Like the dessert, the apple turnover, the dessert, whatever it was tasted like a pine tree, like smelly thing you'd light in your house. It was horrible. Yeah, it was horrible. But like, and now ...

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Matthew 5:6   As we journey through life, each of us experiences moments where we feel an insatiable longing. Like a hungry man searching for his next meal, our spiritual hunger drives us to seek something deeper that we called righteousness. This craving is not just a passing feeling; it's a divine call to align our lives with God's purpose, fostering a desire for holiness and truth in every aspect of our daily existence. Matthew 5:6 poignantly reminds us: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”    Imagine the parable of the lost sheep; when the shepherd finds that one stray sheep, he rejoices as if finding treasure. Similarly, when we earnestly seek righteousness, even in our moments of wandering, there's a celebration in heaven. Our yearning for God's goodness will always lead us back into His arms, filling the voids within our hearts.   Isaiah 55 1 says, "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?   Consider this encouraging truth shared by C.S. Lewis: “The man who first brought life into the world came out of it at His birth, the very same moment He began to share it with others.” When we pursue righteousness fervently, we are nurturing ourselves and becoming vessels through which God can love and serve others. Seeking righteousness transforms and equips us to make a difference in our communities.   Let Psalm 42 resonate within your spirit as you strive to live righteously: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God.” Each day is an opportunity to cultivate this labor of love and enrich our spirits while pointing others toward Him. Remember that your relentless pursuit does not go unnoticed by God; He sees your heart and responds in kindness. John 6:35 says, Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.   Prayer for the Day! Heavenly Father, ignite within us an unquenchable thirst for Your righteousness. Help us to actively seek You every moment and experience the fullness of Your joy as we walk closer with You. May we be transformed by Your grace so that all around us recognize Your hand at work in our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen!

0 mins I am joined by Jaime and Hiram in LA. We start off by talking about the NBA playoffs and the 2 favorite teams Lakers and Celtics are both on the brink of getting swept.  We don't think there will be high ratings for a Denver vs. Miami matchup.  Jaime ask if we are excited for the Spurs winning the draft lottery and landing one of the top prospects of all time. Jaime tells us how Yeo Ming was grown in a China lab. Huh? We get a little into the Haney vs. Loma fight and how we thought there was some highway robbery that took place.  I ask the guys if they know what the term Zombied means and Jaime gives us a long and confusing explanation.  15.00 mins We talk about the upcoming Cook'em High Steaks Cookoff in Edinburg.  Jaime and I start our first practice of the year.  We also celebrated my brother Eric's bday and fired up the PK Grill.  I have a conspiracy theory about HEB meat labeling.  We threw some ribeye's and filets on the grill and it did not disappoint.  We talk about the best cuts of meat at a steakhouse and what sides we are ordering with it.  Hiram doesn't know why people still eat corn and says he never touches it.  So Jaime asks him where it touched him.  Hiram takes a Hungry Man blast to the past.  I talk about HEB having some of the best local barbecue around.  Hiram tells us about the next big thing in Los Angeles called Ghost Kitchens.  We think about having a pop-up steak night so that family and friends can have a steak dinner.  Our friends at Palmer Drug Abuse in McAllen are having a fundraiser and Alma and I volunteered our time and equipment to lend a hand.  We finally have some Winners from our T-shirt giveaway.  30 minute markSome people are talking about adding competitive barbecue as a high school competition against other high schools.  Jaime takes some shots at Eddie.  I think they should go a step further and build the pits they are going to be competing on.  Hiram doesn't think it would hit that big.  Finally, in the last segment of our podcast, we talked about plans for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.  We ask Hiram if he has any fancy plans on a boat or beach or both.  It's Jaime's bday weekend but we'll probably just make some more steaks again.  A bunch of joes that cook like pros!!!Elda's Kitchen Home - Elda's Kitchen (eldaskitchen.com)GW BBQ & Catering BBQ | United States | GW's BBQ Catering Co.
