Eric posted an impromptu reflection on Instagram, focusing on an episode from the Abiding Together Podcast entitled “Her Story: Mary Magdelene – Part 3” (S09 Ep. 14); and the song “I See You” by Leona Lewis in James Cameron's “Avatar.” Topics discussed included sharing the entirety of our hearts with the Lord, including our hopes, dreams, frailties and sorrows; and learning to see ourselves in light of God's love, which is meant to lead us ultimately to surrender ourselves completely to His Divine Providence.   Here's a link to the podcast episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1yz1r4JTu67IgbDgVzs7zG....   Check out this video of the song "I See You" by Leona Lewis: https://youtu.be/dxvlE_Vygm0.   Here are the corresponding lyrics:   I see you I see you   Walking through a dream I see you My light in darkness breathing hope of new life Now I live through you and you through me, enchanting I pray in my heart that this dream never ends   I see me through your eyes Living new life flying high Your love shines the way into paradise So I offer my life as a sacrifice I live through your love   You teach me how to see all that's beautiful My senses touch your world I've never pictured Now I give my hope to you, I surrender I pray in my heart that this world never ends   I see me through your eyes Living new life flying high Your love shines the way into paradise So I offer my life I offer my love for you   When my heart was never open (And my spirit never free) To the world that…   #abidingtogetherpodcast #jamescameronsavatar #leonalewis #jamescameron #leonalewismusic

Such outcomes are not inevitable, however, and Premonitions may yet suggest another path." We spoke with AK Thompson about his recent book, Premonitions: Selected Essays on the Culture of Revolt. On this week's episode of the Evolve Move Play podcast we talk with Aaron Cantor, an embodiment and movement teacher who has spent the last 15 years creating and sharing his Primal Practice. Over the course of an hour and a half we speak at length about using the incredible power of story telling to enrich our abilities to teach, learn, and live.  The art of telling stories is ancient. The Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest recorded piece of literature, dating back to 2700 BC, and in it are common archetypes that have been found in myth and legends all over the world, which suggests that variants on The Heroes Journey predate writing by thousands of years. The fact that humans are deeply connected to and dependent on stories is further exemplified by the costs of the average feature film budget. Most films run between $70 and $90 million, but the blockbusters can soar into the hundreds of millions, hitting as high as $425 million in the case of James Cameron's Avatar.   As instructors, one of the best ways we can convey complex layers of information and meaning to our students is through effective story telling. Utilizing common archetypal themes and characters to represent struggles and journeys that are central to the human experience will almost always hit closer to home than reciting plain raw data or statistics.  Aaron has been using stories to deepen his students connection to their peers, their movement, and their personal processes of discovery and progress. Come with us as we discuss those stories, as well as the search for meaning, embodiment, intention, awareness, and more.

Of course this raises questions of “Tuning” cars in the future, will the American Presidential tank play the Imperial Death march as it drives down the road or the Star Spangled Banner.EPISODE NOTES:Day Z 1.0 is now on Steam- https://dayz.com/article/general/dayz-1-0Netflix’s Dark Crystal prequel series- https://au.ign.com/articles/2018/12/17/netflixs-dark-crystal-prequel-cast-age-of-resistance-taron-egerton-nathalie-emmanuel-mark-hamillMusical Cars- https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2018-12-16/electric-car-sounds-purr-engines-musicians-changing-cities/10606972Games currently playingProfessor– Day Z 1.0 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/DayZ/Buck– LEGO The Hobbit - https://store.steampowered.com/app/285160/LEGO_The_Hobbit/DJ- Darksiders 3 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/606280/Darksiders_III/Other topics discussedDean Hall- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Hall_(game_designer)Day Z 1.0 results on Steam- https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/a72ooi/free_to_play_review_results_74_negative/Fallout 76 now launching loot boxes- https://www.techspot.com/news/77903-fallout-76-might-getting-loot-boxes.htmlTwo-point hospital the game- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_Point_HospitalMy Friend Pedro the game- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Friend_PedroAustralian Game Awards 2018 nominations- https://stevivor.com/news/australian-games-awards-2018-finalists-announced/Australian Game Awards 2018 results- https://press-start.com.au/news/2018/12/20/all-the-winners-from-the-australian-games-awards/Hollow knight the game- http://hollowknight.com/Lisa Henson- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_HensonFirst look at live action Aladdin with Will Smith as Genie- https://variety.com/2018/film/news/first-look-will-smith-genie-aladdin-remake-1203093253/Mark Hamill- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_HamillSlipstream the movie- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slipstream_(1989_film)Helena Bonham Carter- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helena_Bonham_CarterSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweeney_Todd:_The_Demon_Barber_of_Fleet_Street_(2007_film)Enid- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enid_(film)Enid Blyton- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enid_BlytonBlade Runner anime series- https://www.theverge.com/2018/11/29/18118112/blade-runner-black-lotus-anime-cowboy-bebop-ghost-in-the-shellMagnificent 7 TV Movie- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0471019/Jetson’s Car sound effect- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdWswvLPdE0Wilhelm Richard Wagner - Flight of the Valkyries- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YOYlgvI1uEEdward Elgar and A. Teaching from the pilgrimage sites in Bodhgaya Professor Thurman opens this podcast with a discussion of how the Buddha redefined the concept of truth and how modern language about Buddhism is influenced by it's early translation by scholars attempting to frame it's philosophy of mind training into Western religious equivalencies. Guiding a close reading of Shantideva's "Guide to the Bodhisatva's Way of Life" and the Centrist Commentaries on the Kalachakra tantra Robert AF Thurman in this two part podcast discusses how an understanding of non-dualism and emptiness can form the basis for deepening one's wisdom and compassion. Podcast includes a discussion of apperception, Vipassana (Insight Meditation), Shamatha (Calm Abiding Meditation), James Cameron's "Avatar," Henry David Thoreau's "Walden", the Buddhist understanding of yoga and concludes with a thought experiment on the causal narratives and habitual stories that contribute to suffering and unskillful behavior.     This podcast was recorded during the Tibet House US + GeoEx Trip lead by Robert AF Thurman to the 34th Kalachakra Empowerment with the Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India in January, 2017. “Pilgrimage : Deepening Wisdom and Compassion - Ep. 162 of the Bob Thurman Podcast” is apart of the "Buddhist Pilgrimage Series" using field recordings of Robert AF Thurman and friends from his global docent tours benefiting the work of Tibet House US. Box Office Pulp | Film Analysis, Movie Retrospectives, Commentary Tracks, Comedy, and More

A year ago the BOP Crew made a promise. A stupid, stupid, stupid promise. That promise was to go deeper. How does one go deeper when it comes to commentary tracks? Why, you watch the movie while listening to your own commentary track and do a new commentary track over it! Crossed eyed yet? You should be. In this special - and you know what we mean when we say "special" - edition of BOP 'n A Movie, we're delving back into Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION, by way of ourselves! Will this second layer deep of film analysis bear even more secrets and subtext hidden within the film itself? Will the Crew lose their minds while forced to endure two and a half hours of their past selves attempting to sound smart? Will they somehow manage to crap on James Cameron's Avatar some more, apropos of nothing? Never say we didn't follow through on our vows to you, dear listeners. Even at the expense of our own sanity and joy. Let the grand experiment commence! Come a level deeper with us by downloading here. If you dare, of course. Listen to j.Bow and CBax as they discuss James Cameron's Avatar sequels, Halloween main-stay movies, a LONG discussion about Fast and Furious 7, mocking people for having their species wiped out, the fact that the mammoth has Ray Romano's hair, "duck" replacing "fuck" in autocorrect, the allure of acorns vs. Reese Peanut Butter Cups, M. Bison remembering Tuesday, the Acorn God being cruel, the shitty arc of the Sabretooth tiger (or Smilodon for assholes), all the talented actors who got sucked into this franchise and two mammoths SENSUALLY and EROTICALLY interlocking their trunks.
