Dans cet épisode, nous vous emmenons au pays du sourire, en Thaïlande. C'est un pays aux multiples facettes, entre grandes villes, montagnes et îles paradisiaques. Marine, conseillère voyages chez Selectour, nous emmène à la découverte des incontournables en Thaïlande. Bangkok Il faut absolument voir les marchés flottants à Bangkok. Le plus grand et plus connu est celui de Damnoen Saduak. Il y a également plus au nord un marché plus petit et plus typique qui est celui de Taling Chan. Le marché de Chatuchak est le plus grand marché asiatique qui a lieu le samedi et le dimanche.  Un autre incontournable de Bangkok est la Tour MahaNakhon.  Vous pouvez également aller sur des rooftops : le Above Eleven et Lebua at State Tower. Ayutthaya Ayutthaya est situé à 1h30 de Bangkok. Il est possible d'y dormir ou de le faire à la journée depuis Bangkok.  Sukhothai Cette ville est classée au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco. On y trouve de magnifiques temples gigantesques à faire à vélo ou en scooter.  Chiang Mai Chiang Mai est situé dans les montagnes au nord.  Tous les soirs, il y a un marché de nuit très animé à faire au moins une fois.  Le temple le plus connu est celui Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. On peut en profiter pour aller voir les tribus dans le village de Doi Pui Mong Hill. Si on veut voir des éléphants, c'est l'endroit idéal : il y a de nombreux sanctuaires respectueux des animaux.  Chiang Rai On peut également y rencontrer des tribus.  Le temple blanc est est incontournable à faire.  Le golfe de Siam est un archipel de 3 îles situé dans le sud de la Thaïlande. La période idéale pour y aller est de mars à octobre. En avril, c'est la fête de l'eau, c'est le mois le plus chaud de l'année. Koh Samui Le Nord de l'île très touristique : On y trouve Chaweng qui est la rue la plus animée de l'île avec des bars, des discothèques... Big Bouddha, le plus grand Bouddha de l'île. Le Sud est très sauvage, très local : Vous observerez des couchers de soleil fantastiques à Lipa Noi. Crystal Bay est la plus belle plage de Koh Samui avec des rochers lisses.  Ang Thong National Marine Park est un magnifique parc naturel à faire en excursion. Koh Matsum, la fameuse île des cochons, à faire en excursion également. Fisherman est le Saint-Tropez de Koh Samui. Tous les vendredis soirs, il y a un marché incroyable et très animé. Koh Pha Ngan L'île est située à 20 min en speed boat de Koh Samui.  Une fois par mois, il y a la fête de la full moon sur la plage de Haad Rin. C'est une plage magnifique avec une eau turquoise limpide.  Conseil : Haad Son Resort est un magnifique petit bout de terre avec des restaurants, des hamacs dans l'eau, on peut y faire du snorkeling et il est situé sur la plage de Secret Beach. C'est un spot magnifique. Koh Tao L'île est située à 2h30 de Koh Samui et 3h du continent. C'est l'île de la plongée, notamment sur le spot de plongée de Side Rock, idéal pour observer le requin baleine selon la saison.  Ne manquez pas d'aller à Koh Nan Huang, à 10 min en face, ce sont 2 îles reliées par un bras de sable. Dans la mer d'Andaman, il y a un archipel thaïlandais de 3 îles. La bonne saison pour y aller est d'octobre à mars. Krabi C'est le point de départ pour visiter les îles de la mer d'Andaman. Railay Ce sont de grandes falaises calcaires et des eaux turquoises. C'est une presqu'île dont on fait le tour à pied en 20 min. On y fait beaucoup d'escalade et de snorkeling. Koh Phi Phi Vous pouvez faire des excursions dans les lagons aux alentours, à Maya Bay avec ses eaux limpides, faire du snorkeling... But since the start of this year, Thailand has allowed some visitors back. “The sharks have come back, coral reefs are regrowing and the water is clear again,” said, Yuthasak Supasorn, the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The beach is surrounded by 100-meter-high cliffs on the island of Phi Phi Leh in the Andaman Sea. It can be reached only by boat from nearby spots such as the islands of Phuket or Phi Phi. From the archives, the beach from "The Beach" is closed to tourists. As an update, a ton of great progress has been made in Maya Bay. The Thai government is looking to reopen the bay to visitors, but limiting the number of people to potentially half of what numbers once were.

Mardi soir était diffusé sur TMC un documentaire du journaliste Martin Weil intitulé « faut il interdire le tourisme » avec un chiffre édifiant : 95% des touristes se rendent sur seulement 5 % de la planète. C'est ainsi que la fréquentation de la plage de Maya Bay, en Thaïlande, ayant été le décor du film « La plage » avec Léonardo Di Caprio, était tellement importante et dévorante que le pays a décidé d'interdire cette plage au flot touristique en le limitant, avec un quota de 3000 visiteurs arrivants, un peu comme dans les parking Vinci, mais sans les petites lumières vertes ou rouges. Idem pour le temple d'Angkor Vat, au Cambodge pour le lever du jour où des millions de touristes viennent faire des selfies.

Setelah menikmati Maya Bay selama 18 jam, kami bergegas menuju Phuket dan berakhir di Phuket International Airport. Sempat dihadang berbagai "kericuhan" dari susahnya menemukan tempat mandi, tempat makan yang murah, tempat beristirahat, sampai harus pindah airport.

Seharian mengarungi Phi Phi Island bersama para traveler lainnya dari berbagai negara menggunakan boat. Mampir snorkeling dan kayaking ke Maya Bay, dimana film The Beach difilmkan dan berenang bersama glowing plankton di malam hari. Kita tidur ditemani bintang-bintang di langit dan disambut oleh sunrise di pagi hari.
