“My daughter was required to be vaccinated at the end of her fifth grade school year at the age of 11 before she could move on to middle school. For the following couple of years, she deteriorated medically, physically, and emotionally at a very frightening level. And in the end, the diagnosis included autism, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, and obsessive compulsive disorder. She had systemic rashes, and severe environmental and food allergies. The sensory processing disorder would make her shut down for up to five days, unable to walk or talk. The list could go on and on, but in the journey to get her to recovery I learned through an occupational therapist about craniosacral therapy and I had never heard of it before. It's a light touch therapy that improves brain and nervous system functioning. And through that therapy and sensory integration therapy and biomedical supports, my daughter–against all odds–got to a degree of functioning recovery that was literally unheard of.” Tami Goldstein is Diplomate certified in Upledger Craniosacral Therapy (U-CST), Board Certified and an approved continuing education provider through The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. She is a Wisconsin licensed massage therapist. In 2004 she opened A Therapeutic Touch by Tami, LLC. She offers services as a therapist, advocate, international speaker and educator of bodywork specializing in individuals on the autism spectrum and other neurodevelopment disorders. She's the international award-winning author of “Coming Through the Fog,” an autism recovery journey, a contributing author in a Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism, and other books & publications. Ms. Goldstein is a 2018 World Massage Festival Hall of Fame inductee, 2019 Teacher of the Year recipient at World Massage Festival, the founder of Wisconsin for Vaccine Choice and the parent of an individual with functioning recovery from autism.

On this episode Ariel is joined by Beverley Giroud, a professional educator, licenced massage therapist, personal trainer and life coach, about the power of transition. If you're transitioning, or know someone who is, listen on, some great ideas are discussed on this episode. What Color is Your Parachute: Your Guide to a Lifetime of Meaningful Work and Career Success by Richard Bolles. This book is updated often and has excellent tools and exercises to help you understand your work and life skills and how to apply them in a different career to make decisions regarding transition. KEY TAKEAWAYS I planned. I had a job as an administrator for an excellent massage therapy school and during the course of the time I was there I was planning for a time when I would leave. I didn't know wen that was going to be, here I am being thankful that I planned. Life coaching training was something I did during covid because he school was down for he most part, I didn't want to get to the end of 2020-2021 with nothing to show for myself. Teaching adults is fun and challenging and I felt I wanted to be better at navigating challenging situations, be better, more prepared and more helpful to my staff, students and clients. It was supposed to support my job and eventually I'd come home and have my own practice, but that's what I'm doing now! When I cleared all this stuff out of my life, the things that I wanted – namely a special relationship – showed up. And I was available and ready to go and it's been great. In the end, the theme I found underneath everything is the same theme that has been my issue and challenge for life is about picking the right relationships, picking healthy relationships, relationships that are healthy for me, picking relationships where I feel respected, where I am respected, where I'm valued and not choosing relationships that are the opposite of that. Not just romantic but professional. So, I left that last job/unhealthy relationship I'd been in for 10 years, that was an amazing job and in some respects my dream job. I couldn't do without that experience, because I learned so much, but growing up and going through life coaching school and getting more clear about myself I knew I needed to make a transition.   BEST MOMENTS “Life coaching was always supposed to be an enhancement to my social skills with people, leadership skills and being able to educate and help.” “With this transition I'd say I'm slowing down a bit. I'm 60, I'm not done yet, but I'm finding success in areas of my life that I wasn't paying attention to. I keep having to remind myself to look at what I'm doing now that I could never have done before, the relationships that'd I'd never have had, travelling. I'm happier than I've ever been, but I think ‘is that alright?' because I'm not overachieving.” “I'm very present, there are no other channels running in the background when I'm with someone. Being present is how I find my joy.” “If it feels big and more than you're able to manage, find a life coach. I've had one for many years and that's how I was inspired to go to school. Trust your intuition but make sure you're not consufusion fear with your intuition, because we often do that.” ABOUT THE GUEST Beverley Giroud serves as the Director of Education for CRSMT (Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy). Beverley discovered a love of teaching and a passion for the industry while earning her massage therapy certificate in 1998. She became an instructor in 1999 and has been volunteering on a national level throughout her career. She served on and chaired the NCBTMB's (The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork) Exam Development Committee for 10 years and has been serving as a COMTA (Commission on Massage Therapy) Commissioner since 2012. Beverley's extensive experience in private practice as well as many hours of interaction with other professionals in and out of the classroom provides a wealth of learning experiences to share. Karen Thomas is the author of Naturally Healing Autism. Karen joined us to discuss her journey through autism and how she healed her son naturally without drugs, chemicals or a lifetime of speech therapy or behavioral therapy. What causes autism? Is it exposure to vaccines? Is it the adjuvants and heavy metals in the flu shots and MMR vaccines? Is it the formaldehyde that causes cancer or is autism mostly a gut disorder and can be healed naturally? Karen Thoams sheds light on all of these issues and talks about the step by step protocol she used to heal her son. She doesn't reveal the full protocol but does talk about many of the cleansing and detoxification strategies she used to help heal her son of autism naturally. People say all the time that autism is permanent and you cannot reverse the symptoms of autism. It's just not true. There are people out there all the time doing it but you will not hear about this information on the news. They don't want people to know that they have the power to heal. In fact it isn't just autism or other neurological disorders. The human body can heal from anything and everything if given the right set of circumstances. People will say, "well why did this natural doctor die of cancer then?". Simple, they were not able to find the right remedy (and the reason for that could be an emotional spiritual issue) for them. And that's okay. It's my hardcore belief that we can heal everything. It has to be that way. Whether or not we will is based upon a thousand other circumstances. Just know, that if your son or daughter is currently diagnosed with autism (anywhere on the spectrum), there is hope. There are things you can do to help heal and restore a normal way of life for them. Karen shares lots of great information. If this episode encourages you, please share it with your friends. Liz is an international teacher and author with 43 years of experience working with and specializing in the psoas. Educating both laypersons and professionals around the world, Liz is recognized by colleagues in the movement, wellness, and fitness professions as an authority on the “core muscle” of the human body. Stalking Wild Psoas is her passion and changing the language of body is her mission. Liz Koch is the creator of Core Awareness,™ a somatic approach to deepening the experience of the human core. Beginning with the core muscle, the psoas, Core Awareness™ focuses attention on sensation as a means for maturing and developing the proprioceptive nervous system, which is responsible for skeletal alignment, balance, and orientation. Liz is the author of The Psoas Book; Core Awareness: Enhancing Yoga, Pilates, Exercise & Dance; Unraveling Scoliosis CD; The Psoas & Back Pain CD; and she is a contributing author to Maiden, Mother, Crone: Our Pleasure Playlist and Stalking Wild Psoas: Embodying Your Core Intelligence. Her writing has been featured in Yoga Journal, Positive Health, Massage & Bodywork, Massage Magazine, Yoga & Health International, Midwifery Today, Vegetarian Times, and The Doula as well as numerous small health and wellness publications. Liz Koch is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. The psoas is considered such an unknown muscle yet so important and powerful. Liz first discovered the psoas while attending a human potential class in Boston over 45 years ago. At that particular moment, the teacher, Robert Cooley, was fascinated with the psoas muscle. Having previously been a dancer, he was exploring how injuries and a lack of movement might be tracked back to the midline or core issues expressed in the iliopsoas complex. Between Liz's in-depth inquiry and Bob's encouragement, she eventually shifted my career from being a conceptual artist and sculpture instructor at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts to the healing arts profession. While working with her psoas, Liz discovered that she had released years of back pain and emotional distress which awoke within her a deep sense of pleasure. She became passionate that people should know what an extraordinary role the psoas plays in recovering health and gaining a sense of wholeness. When she moved to California in the 1970s, her personal explorations of the psoas catapulted her into her current profession. She began by teaching courses on the psoas muscle for local community colleges, dance departments, and massage school programs. Her vocation not only evolved throughout the years but also expanded into wider spheres of influence which included being a keynote speaker at two international conferences as well as teaching both national and international workshops and retreats. What began as a personal journey has continued as the psoas is no ordinary tissue, but a profound segway into the rich interior and exterior world of awareness.

I first met Solla Pizzuto when she held a women’s group at her home in Santa Monica, California. We all gathered to learn how to connect with our yoni’s and do Kegels on steroids. This event was beyond what I expected and not your typical goddess sister gathering. We all tapped into the philosophy that to create a life that is happy, fulfilling, and full of blessings you need to take responsibility for yourself, on all levels, even your sensuality.   We are so conditioned in this pressurized time on the planet to source everything we need from the outside. This podcast conversation goes deep into the alchemy of finding your inner truth and connecting to the aspects of self that often go unrecognized and neglected.
