Cultures across the world deal with death differently, and the United States is no exception. How do we practice liberation and anti-oppression when we are grieving? This week our special guest is hospice chaplain Rev. Yung Me Morris. When it comes to death, we often associate the concept of a dignified death with medical aid in dying, referencing physician-assisted suicide. These conversations often neglect other methods of preserving dignity in dying, or more accurately, living. Research shows that people who receive quality/holistic end of life care live longer and happier lives until they pass on. This week we discuss the difficult topics of grief, death, and dying, exploring the importance of palliative care and current approaches to end of life care structures in the US Healthcare system that center the wholeness of a human being. Rev. Yung Me Suh Morris is a First Generation Korean American who was born in Seoul, South Korea. Together with her parents and younger brother, she emigrated to the United States, Chicago, IL, specifically, where she grew up speaking Mid-western English, navigating multiple cultures and developing a deep abiding love for deep dish pizza and lasagna. Rev. Morris earned her BA and MA in Education Ministries from Wheaton College and earned her MDiv from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Rev. Morris' ministry includes pastoring parishes, chaplaincy in hospitals and hospice, and street chaplaincy with the unhoused. Rev. Morris and her spouse, Morgan, have three children (two out of the nest and one nearly out) and three miniature poodles (that will never leave home) in West Chester, PA. Among her interests, Rev. Morris is a Certified Massage Therapist specializing in Deep Tissue, Trauma Release and Acupressure. She is also a Reiki Master Teacher, yoga practitioner and dances because the pleasure of it connects her deeply to Spirit.

The one and only Sam Visnic is back to talk about using hypnotherapy to heal your physical health, gut health, and even IBS and chronic pain. He busts some myths and misconceptions of hypnosis and explains how hypnotherapy can help you reach new levels of health and wellness. Sam has utilized hypnotherapy in his practice for over 20 years. He's seen people use hypnotherapy to overcome a wide range of health issues from PTSD to IBS and chronic pain. Have you ever considered using hypnotherapy in your healing journey? Either way, after this episode, you'll definitely be more informed and more open to it! Sam Visnic is a Certified Massage Therapist specializing in neuromuscular and clinical massage, as well as a Certified Corrective Exercise Therapist. He's also the host of Who Knows This?? Podcast. Follow Sam Visnic @releasemuscletherapy Follow Chase on Instagram @chase_chewning Key Highlights What is hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help a client reach a transcendent-like state of focus, concentration, diminished peripheral awareness, and heightened suggestability. Sam explains how hypnotherapy and sensory-based focus can be used in therapeutic processes to reconstruct our internal experience. He notes the similarities and differences between hypnotherapy, meditation, and mindfulness. The world is so stimulating that many of us have realized we're not as relaxed as we think we are. That's why people feel loopy and out of it after their first hypnotherapy session - it's because they're actually relaxed and they've forgotten what that feels like. Once you build that awareness, you can begin cultivating more of that in your life. Sam describes how creating deep change isn't harder than creating simple change… it just requires a different set of skills. Resilience is one of the best skills you can develop to create change, maintain momentum, and accomplish your goals. People are using hypnotherapy to change the gut microbiome, improve gut health, and even heal IBS. How? Does hypnotherapy work just as well as the FODMAP diet? Tune in to find out! Lastly, Sam highlights the benefits of hypnotherapy in treating chronic pain. This month we had the immense pleasure of speaking with fellow body nerd Breana Gilcher. Breana Gilcher Bio: Breana Gilcher is an oboist, improviser, educator, and Certified Massage Therapist based in Los Angeles. Breana's music career spans orchestral playing, contemporary music, improvisation, and studio work. Gail L. Taylor-Tubbs, 71 years of age and Birth Mom to Andrew Joseph Berry Gail married Johnny Tubbs in 1993, with a blended family of six Children (first-born son, my second-born/deceased son, four step children, 17-Grand Children, 1-Great Grandson and Twins on the way in October 2022. In 1977, when Gail's deceased son Christopher was an infant, she discovered that Massage was good for infants and toddlers. This is also when she began the search for her first-born. Massage as a profession stayed on her mind from that time until she became a Certified Massage Therapist in 1997. Today, after having worked at Spas, Chiropractic offices and as an Instructor of Massage Therapy core curriculum, she is still working in the field of Massage Therapy with a steady clientele at her home studio. Gail as a 15-year old birth mother in 1967, she chose to relinquish him to adoption rather than have him grow up, in what she considered, a dysfunctional family. She prayed to God that someone would adopt him and give him everything he wanted and needed. When Gail found Drew Berry in 2003, she discovered that God had indeed answered her prayers. Drew had been adopted by a Public School Teacher and his wife, a Nurse who could not have children. He became their first child. Drew has a blended family of a wife, 6 children, 1 grandson and twin grandchildren on the way. He and his wife just finished building a house in an affluent area of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. Gail and Drew cherish each other as family and she loves him so much. They are in regular contact with each other. This episode is lovingly dedicated to Gail's second son, Christopher Elliott Bruce, 08/23/77-10/26/93 Music by Corey Quinn

In this interview, I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Aaron LeBauer. In this convo, we discussed how he handles and stays focused with ADHD but more importantly, how he created a physical therapy office without the use of insurance. This is very different from the standard model, the matrix, and the conditioning of what the majority of physical therapists do. They normally are very involved with accepting insurance. Dr. Aaron had such great success with this, he now, coaches physical therapists to create the same practice of not being dependent on insurance. Tune in and hopefully you are inspired to follow your path, think outside the box and choose the path you want to succeed and much more! And don't forget to subscribe, share a review and if you were inspired, pay it forward by sharing this episode with someone that you know would benefit from. Who is Dr. Aaron LeBauer? On this Episode, number 224, of the “Just Bein' Honest Podcast”, I am opening up with one of the newly experimental therapies that I have been committing to: LYMPHATIC THERAPY.Sounds a little nutty, but the lymphs are the transporters to "taking out the trash"! When they are congested, your body holds on to toxins and this is where disease arises. Today my personal therapist is on the show telling all about your lymphatic system. Brenda Oglesby is here! Using her foundation as a Certified Massage Therapist and reflexologist, she followed her intuition toward Lymphatic Therapy and to the Center for Lymphatic Health in Santa Barbara, where she was trained and worked alongside nationally recognized expert Allen Mills from 2015 until his retirement in 2017.During her time at the Center, she learned the Vodder Method for manual lymphatic drainage and use of the Lymphstar machine: afterward, she trained in Lymph Drainage Therapy at the esteemed Chikly Health Institute. Her goal for every session is to increase patient health and wellbeing through Lymphatic Therapy, education, and a calming studio environment where each client is free to unwind. She truly is fully present with each person's individual needs and wellness journey. I cannot wait to continue my own...We are diving in deep about:What is the Lymphatic System + What does therapy do?The difference of Lymphatic MASSAGE + gentle (proper technique) Therapy? How the Lymphs build your immune system? What are the benefits of Lymphatic maintenance + DIY techniques!COMMENT + 5-STAR RATING over on APPLE PODCASTS / iTUNES (Subscribing is a PLUS!)Resources:@JustBeinHonestKB@LymphaticTherapySantaBarbara*** Thank you to today's Sponsor! Dr. Aaron LeBauer is a physical therapist in Greensboro, NC. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Massage Therapist and Baptiste Inspired Yoga Teacher. After seeing 43 patients in one day as a PT student, he knew he could not treat patients effectively in the insurance model. Aaron started LeBauer Physical Therapy in Greensboro, NC 100% cash practice, so he could treat patients as unique individuals and without influence by insurance reimbursement. He launched the day he graduated from PT school in 2008, even when all of his professors and any other physical therapist he told about his plan, simply looked at him like he was crazy, or with disbelief. He had owned my own massage therapy practice for 10 years, specializing in chronic pain and injuries prior to entering PT school, so the transition was a bit different than starting from scratch, but I definitely faced some unforeseen challenges in my new role as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.Fun Fact: aaron used to race bicycles competitively and actually earned more money working as a bicycle messenger in San Francisco than many of my friends who were on professional cycling teams.
