Vernon Jones saw firsthand the power of Redox TurfRx® technology as a superintendent before his current position as an agronomist and account consultant for Plant Health Solutions. As superintendent of The Polo Club in Boca Raton, Florida, he saw amazing results from a trial program on a struggling fairway. He expanded his use of TurfRx® products and has become a huge fan of the results. He now helps superintendents save heartache and labor by helping their courses stay pristine, even when battling rain, insects, disease, cold spells and oxidative stress pressure.“When you're dealing with something that's your livelihood, the way you put food on your table, you really can't put a dollar amount on that,” he said. “The greens need to come first, regardless. If you can grow a healthier plant, it's just a no brainer. It's definitely worth the investment- it's just shifting that mindset and those dollars to focusing on nutrition, instead of medicines.”Florida golf is an $11 billion industry., with nearly 48 million rounds played each year.
This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, the team isnow three. Where's Ariel? Rumor has it he's in Thailand, watch capital of....nowhere! We hope he's relaxing at a White Lotus hotel. Ripley is chilling inhis panic room, and Rick is home under the gray Scotland sky. David appears tobe having a normal kind of day. As you might guess, Formula 1 is the talk atthe top of the show, and Ripley and Rick debrief on the standings. Rick pivotsto the news of Frédéric Arnaud leaving LVMH, which leads David to surmise thatcompeting Richemont brands might be getting wise to the problem of"overlords" and cutting out middle management. This slippery slopeleads the guys to the Panerai website and a discussion of price-to-water-resistance ratio, if such a thing exists. Next, suddenly, aguest appears! It's Guy Blaskey of Detrash, a sustainability-focused brand that makes watches out of trash. On to talk of recent hands-on reviews, starting with the MB&F M.A.D. 2green watch, an homage to 1990s club culture. Carlton Henry was well prepared when he earned his first head superintendent position three years ago at Dedham Country and Polo Club just outside Boston. A native of New York, Henry first prepped at golf courses in his home state, home to the nation's strictest pesticide regulations. A graduate of the Rutgers turf program, he eventually spent several years working for another Rutgers product, John Zimmers, at both Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh and later the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. As an AIT at Oakmont, Henry was part of a team that oversaw the 2016 U.S. Open and completed many changes and upgrades to the historic Henry Fownes design that is a regular USGA stop. While at Inverness, the historic Donald Ross design underwent significant changes, including an Andrew Green-led restoration and a major tree-management project. During the Covid plagued 2020 golf season, the team at Inverness held an LPGA Tour event with barely a month's notice. Listen as Carlton discusses how his well-rounded past helped prepare him for his role at Dedham as he ushers the course into the future.
This is part 3 of my discussion with the ladies of the Book Fare podcast — links and book suggestions are included in the show notes. We close with a short but exciting game of Bring Your Own Book — a game I figured would click with them. Turns out, I was right. Everyone brought their own book to the game, just like we all bring our own preconceptions to our discussions with others. Can we be so enamored of our own ideas that we are blinded to new ones? Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known professionally as Offset, emerged as a prominent American rapper due to his association with the hip-hop group Migos, alongside members Quavo and Takeoff. Offset's artistry, characterized by his rapid rhymes, ad-libs, and clever wordplay, captivated fans as Migos ascended the hip-hop charts with hit singles like "Versace" and albums like "Yung Rich Nation." Born on December 14, 1991, Offset embarked on his musical journey with Migos in 2009, initially forming the group under the name Polo Club, before adopting the moniker Migos a year later. His collaborative endeavor "Without Warning," alongside 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, further cemented his standing in the rap community. In addition to his musical pursuits, Offset has ventured into the esports realm as an investor in Faze Clan. As for the unreleased song 'Rock Out,' it was a collaborative track between Offset and Playboi Carti, intended for Offset's album "Set It Off." Despite the anticipation and a snippet being shared, the song faced a roadblock as it was not cleared by Playboi Carti for release, leading to its omission from the final album tracklist. This unreleased track was discussed and lamented in various media outlets, with fans expressing their disappointment over the missed collaboration. The beat of "Rock Out" was noted to have similarities with a 2020 demo version by Kanye West and Playboi Carti, hinting at its potential groove and style. The issue of clearance from Playboi Carti stalled what could have been an energetic addition to Offset's album, leaving audiences with only teasers and speculations about the song's vibe and lyrical content. Before influential rapper Takeoff -- one-third of the hip-hop collective Migos -- would lose his life in a tragic passing on Halloween night, he was born Kirshnik Khari Ball on June 18th, 1994 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. That's just the beginning as we have lots to cover in this video from their childhood. 2008 beginnings as the Polo Club. You won't want to miss this conversation with the man, the myth, the legend - Nick May. He is a self-taught horseman with an avid passion for the sport of kings and everything that comes with it. Nick and I had the pleasure of meeting each other when I was on a study abroad trip in Oslo, Norway in 2016. Both of us being passionate polo players we hit it off and Nick, Thea and the Norwegian Polo Club took me in and made Norway feel like a second home with ponies to ride and stalls to clean. In this episode, Nick shares how his professional career took a turn, how he and his wife started the Norwegian Polo Club, and how a couple of his close polo buddies started "The NRG podcast - the horse that asked why and other stories."Follow Nick and his antics through Instagram: @nrg_podcast@nickmay6690@thenorwegianpoloclub
"There is a fascination about the game of polo that is hard to describe to anyone who has never played. Once a man has had a taste of it, the task of curing him is rather hopeless." - Tommy Hitchcock Jr.We sat down with Mike Carney, Josh Shelton, and Mannie Shelton to hear all about the game of polo. Since 1931, one of the longest running USPA clubs int he US, Wichita has been a mecca for polo and a center of the Midwest circa. They say it is like playing golf during an earthquake and those involved with the sport are obsessed with the beauty of the sport. They play from July to October and have tournaments during several weekends and an open game to the public every Sunday during that period. And they also have Polo on the Plains in September and Real Men Wear Pink in October which are two charity events giving back to the community. We really enjoyed hearing the history of the Fairfield Polo Club, where the sport of polo is heading today and how women are affecting it, and all about the horse athletes. LBHS Podcast (Ep16) – Justin Powers: Darlington Polo Club On episode 16 of the Little Beaver Historical Society Podcast, we talk with Justin Powers about the history and current state of play of the world renowned Darlington Polo Club. Darlington Polo Club Photo: Darlington Polo Club, c. May 2018. As Justin Powers describes it, the Darlington Polo Club is "America's oldest 'under the lights' polo team! A Western Pennsylvania tradition since 1937." The club kicks off its season each year with the "Friday Night Lights Bob Lackner Memorial Polo Match" - on the Friday before the Darlington Days community celebration begins. The Darlington Polo Club History, as told by Glenn Watterson III: The Club began playing in the summer of 1937 when Cliff Braden and other interested fans retrieved a ball from under a car at a game in Zelienople. They began playing the sport in Darlington in a very primitive fashion. Their mounts were plow horses. They used gasoline cans for goal posts and lit the field with a series of floodlights hung from the surrounding trees. The founders of the club would be surprised at the advancements the club has made since it humble beginnings. In recent years, the club has purchased a lighting system that was used to light the local high school football stadium. Most players ride athletic Thoroughbreds with a few preferring the Quarter Horse and Appaloosa Breeds. Quickness and agility are the most sought after traits in a polo horse. The Darlington Polo Clubs home season begins in mid May and runs to the end of August. We play our home games at 8:00 P.M. on Friday nights earning the team the name " Night Riders". We play competitive teams from Canada, Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Virginia. Many of today's high goal professional players have graced the Darlington field early in their careers. The atmosphere at a Friday night game is a mix of hometown sports and backyard festival with a healthy dose of horse and family thrown in for good measure. The local Lion's Club serves up French fries, funnel cakes and other ballpark treats from their concession stand. Most of the players' families are pressed into service as ticket takers, referees, and grooms. Friends and families turn out with lawn chairs and picnic baskets to cheer for the home team. The Darlington Polo Club would like to invite you and your family to come and join us each Friday for polo "under the lights." For more information, check out the club on Facebook at Darlington Polo Club or visit their website. The Prince of Polo Naveed's family emigrated from Pakistan to Manchester UK shortly before he was born. His parents died tragically when he was just 9 and he ended up in an orphanage for a while. Naveed went on to have a career in top management, which eventually took him to Prague. It was the type of career that most people would just hang on to as long as they could but Naveed wanted something different, so of course he just opened a Polo Club in the Czech Republic! Take a listen and see how your club could adapt this idea!
Members Quavo, Offset and Takeoff who are related - came together in 2009 initially under the name Polo Club. The Atlanta Trio developed a buzz by hitting clubs in their city every week and buying the DJ a drink to play their music. It was Drake who took a liking to their track Versace and remixed it, launching these three to the worldwide stage.

Earlier this month, Marco Polo Club members were given a helping hand to retain their elite membership with club points relief and benefits extension across February, March and April, and as the COVID-19 situation has evolved into a global pandemic, Cathay Pacific has updated their tier renewal policy today on their site, all Marco Polo Club members with their current tier levels due to expire between May and December 2020 will be renewed automatically for another 12 months when the normal requirement is not met. This includes all club members at Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond levels. Marco Polo Club Tiers “Automatic tier renewal The COVID-19 situation has evolved into a global pandemic, and many countries have instituted travel bans and restrictions to curb its spread. This in turn has lowered demand and we have significantly reduced capacity across our passenger network. Renewal of club tiers Knowing this has seriously affected your ability to travel and may continue to impact your travel plans for some months to come, we are renewing the current tier level of Green, Silver, Gold and Diamond members whose membership period expires from May to December 2020 for another 12 months, even if the normal renewal requirement is not met. Reissuing of mid-tier benefits We will also reissue mid-tier benefits that expire between May and December 2020 for another 12 months so you can enjoy them when your travel resumes. The reissue should take 7 working days from the date of expiry. For the ticketing arrangements and precautionary measures we’re taking, please visit the COVID-19 Information Centre.” Marco Polo Club Diamond Membership This is a textbook example of how a flagship full service carrier should be retaining its customers, with the continuous passenger number drop, Cathay is expecting average daily pax number remain below 1,000 throughout April. “A potential bright point could be cargo in upcoming weeks. Cargo revenue won’t be enough to offset passenger revenue loss, but it could cushion the blow from high monthly fixed expenses, Cathay has always had one of the strongest cargo operations in the Asia-Pacific. It would make sense for them to capitalise on this leadership and continue adding cargo capacity on key routes.” Luya You, Transport analyst at Bocom International. Cathay Pacific B777-300ER Cathay Pacific had cut capacity by two-fifths and they could continue to extend its April flight reductions of 96 per cent if travel restrictions remains. If your membership expires between May and December 2020, your current membership status will automatically be renewed at the end of your membership year for another 12 months. A member of Hall of Fame Coach Don Gambril’s City of Commerce Swim Team, she became a member of the 1964 USA Olympic Swim Team competing in the breaststroke. After her competitive career, she coached swimming for a few years, but soon turned her attention to the coaching and development of water polo, which has stayed with her ever since. In 1971, Sandy started the City of Commerce Water Polo program and coached the team to many national championships. She soon moved into positions of leadership, serving as the USA’s Women’s International Chairperson from 1976 to 1978. From 1980 to the present, she has given water polo clinics all around the world including New Zealand, Australia, England, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, India, France, Germany, Brazil and Mexico. In 1977, Commerce hosted the first-ever Women’s International Tournament in the United States and Sandy was the Tournament Director. She was one of the original coaches who began the push for the inclusion of women’s water polo at the Olympic Games, which became a reality in 2000, Sydney.Since her beginning days, Sandy has had an extensive head water polo coaching career in women’s water polo. She was the first Head Coach for the United States Junior National Team (1979). For 17 years (1980-1996, 1998), she was head coach of the USA Senior National Team. She was also head coach of the Queensland, Australia State Team (1996) and the Brazilian Senior National Team (1999-2002) where she coached at the first Pan American Games to include women’s water polo and the first-ever wins against the United States by the Brazilian team. For two years (2000-2002), she was coach of the Tualatin Hills Water Polo Club in Portland, Oregon and then Head Coach of Team Vegas in Las Vegas (1992-2000) and currently Team Vegas/Henderson (2002 to present). Other positions of leadership include: U.S. Water Polo Masters Advisory Committee (2008-2011), USA Water Polo Hall of Fame Committee (2006-2010), USA Water Polo Board of Directors (2010 to present), U.S. Olympic Development Director of the West Region (2011 to present) and Co-Chairperson of the U.S.A. USA Water Polo Coaches Association.Sandy was coach to the gold medal team at the 2006 FINA Masters World Championships and the women’s 50+ division at the 2012 Senior Games. She is the first and only female water polo coach in the U. S. Water Polo Hall of Fame and in her honor, the “Sandy Nitta Distinguished Women’s Coach Award” is presented annually by United States Water Polo.Sandy’s greatest influence to her water polo players under her guidance is her character. As a competitive swimmer, she was short making it difficult competing against taller swimmers. She would be leading by a body length before the turn and come out of the turn a half body length behind. But her drive and toughness led to a position on the Olympic Team. She fought for the “underdog”. When she began coaching the City Of Commerce Water Polo Team, it consisted mostly of lower income, Hispanic families who also were not tall nor came from competitive backgrounds. Yet, they achieved success. When coaching the USA Women’s National Team in the 1980’s, she had 125 to 150 players across the entire United States. Even when coaching them outside of the California hot-bed of water polo, Sandy achieved success from her players. It shows greatness and sound character.Sandy enjoys fresh water fishing, playing video games and playing poker. But you may want to think twice before putting any money on the poker table. She made it to the final table at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas - a real smart competitor.
After the Polo Match they decide that a visit to Polo Club’s prestige nightclub is a must. The Mansion Club’s entrance code is very strict and prefers a perticular cliental.
