Dr. Prather looked forward to doing this show to bring clarity to recent media coverage and to also talk about natural solutions for the Measles.  In this episode, you'll find out:—How Measles is "the most contagious infection out there".—The "Three C's" of Measles symptoms.  And why Lisa questions Dr. Prather's spelling skills after hearing this list!—The historical connection of Measles to cattle and why Native Americans were so badly impacted by the Measles.  And why breastfeeding is so important to protect a child's immune system.—Why the latest media coverage about Measles is biased by the pharmaceutical companies.  And how the children in Texas who reportedly died from Measles may have actually died due to comorbidities and medical mistreatment. —How Dr. Prather says the MMR vaccine has been "extremely effective", but was also the first vaccine to really raise safety complaints from parents.  And how more children usually die from the MMR vaccine than from the Measles.—Why Dr. Prather says he would prefer to see separate vaccine options for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella instead of putting them into one vaccine that can cause too much stress on a child's immune system.—The importance of Vitamin A for Measles.  And why Dr. Prather recommends people first get their Vitamin A levels checked, but suggests Beta Carotene for those who don't get tested to avoid potential toxic side effects of taking Vitamin A.—The key role played by Vitamin D, Iodine, and Zinc in protecting an immune system from Measles. And how Cod Liver Oil that families used to regularly give to their children can help build up a child's immune system.—The helpful natural things for someone who already has Measles, such as:  Homeopathic Belladonna and herbal Feverfew for fever and Oatmeal baths and Homeopathic Avena Sativa for the rash.  And how antibiotics can be "extremely helpful" for secondary infections like pneumonia.—How regular Chiropractic adjustments and the Spleen-21 Acupuncture point are effective ways to boost a patient's immune system when they are fighting an infection.  And the benefit of the Diathermy treatment at Holistic Integration for quickly clearing up upper-respiratory infections.http://www.TheVoiceOfHealthRadio.com

This is a long one, because I was too stubborn to make it two parts. I feel it is time we discuss Measles. It is making a bit of a come back in Europe and in the US, but I don't think many people know much about the illness apart from it involving a rash and such. Measles is one of the most contagious diseases that we know of. It is not the same as chicken pox (though that one does such as well), and it can lead to lasting disabilities and death in some cases, especially in young children. Many of you may have seen the recent death of a Texas child because of Measles, for instance. While there are people who get through the virus unscathed, we cannot predict who will end up dying or left with longterm complications (even some that do not show up until years after the original infection). It is estimated that 1 in five people who catch measles will end up hospitalized. We also discuss Mumps and Rubella this episode, because the typical vaccine for Measles also protects agains these two as well. Speaking of vaccines, we just had to go into the ingredients, purpose, and mechanisms of those in general and in the MMR vaccine specifically. Lastly, we need to discuss where the anti-vaccination stuff started and that involves the history of Andrew Wakefield and his fraudulent paper that was later retracted. This is the man who put forth (and still promotes) the reason for fears that have led to a decline in childhood vaccines. He lost his medical license but still makes good money off his supporters. Rising anti-vaccine sentiment and dissemination of misinformation are threats to public health. In the US, calls to revoke certain public health mandates have been proposed by likely members of the incoming administration, among them vaccination against polio. The fourth instalment of the Nightmare Series is both a cautionary tale and an effort to preserve and share clinical expertise on how to diagnose and manage polio and rubella in a world where, until now, few doctors have had to face these illnesses in the clinical setting. Host Angela Huttner welcomes Professor Emeritus of Infectious Diseases Bernard Hirschel at the University of Geneva and Dr. Kerrigan McCarthy of the Centre for Vaccines and Immunology at South Africa's National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) for that discussion. This episode was edited by Kathryn Hostettler and peer-reviewed by Dr. Barbora Píšová in Antwerp, Belgium. Literature Link-Gelles R et al (2022) MMWR https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7133e2.htm  Ryerson AB et al (2022) MMWR https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7144e2.htm  Kasstan B et al (2023) Epidemiol Infect doi: 10.1017/S0950268823001127 NICD (2024) Report: Rubella in South Africa, 2024.https://www.nicd.ac.za/surge-in-rubella-cases-in-south-africa-november-2024/

It's not out of bounds to say that the Smoking Popes began as a bit of a joke. Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Josh Caterer deems the earliest incarnation of the band as “a Spinal Tap version of hardcore punk,” choosing song titles first and how those songs would actually go later. But after finding a propulsive drummer in a teenage Mike Felumlee, the quartet began showing true heart around 1993: no longer just goofing off in the garage, Caterer was penning some of the punchiest, most direct odes to lost love on the college radio dial, emphasizing all the best parts of the Smiths, Cheap Trick, Roy Orbison and the Ramones, while feeling wholly original. It's now been three decades since Born To Quit, the band's heroic half-hour featuring “Need You Around” and “Rubella,” put them on the map. And although an LP reissue dropped earlier this year (without the band's consent or knowledge), Josh and Mike decided that the Popes needed their own “Taylor's Version” of sorts, in order to take these songs back into their possession — even in the most modest of terms. So before a minimal audience in a small, central Illinois studio, the band chose to cut Born To Quit live, front to back, and a vinyl version comes out this week to put a stamp on the occasion. During this episode, Josh and Mike speak to their longevity as a unit, what we can expect from their brand new album this spring, and what it meant to control Born To Quit's legacy a bit, with this new approach. We also dive into Mike's tenure in Alkaline Trio, and Josh's solo performances pressed to wax during the 2020 lockdown. Before their vaccines were made available, measles and rubella swept through towns every few years, mostly infecting young children. Everyone was expected to suffer through them at some point. Waco native Mary Sendón recalls her and her siblings' experience with the more serious of the two illnesses: "All of us—four of us—got measles at the same time. I was even in grammar school; I didn't get it till I was in grammar school. And I remember that my grandfather and my dad—you know, the men really worried about the kids a lot. You'd be surprised how much attention they gave to them. But I know my grandfather got worried because my fever was way up high. And, you know, it was so high that my nails peeled off. And he got up and went to the drugstore and tried to get something from—there was an old Kassell's drugstore down on Eighth Street, and he got the druggist to give him something to get the fever down. And there were little powders. You had to mix them in a teaspoon of water and then drink a glass of water. Fever powders, that's what they were called. And he went down and got that. "And, I tell you, we were sick for about a week. And we had to stay in a dark room, you know, because—to protect the eyes. And my grandmother was there, my great-aunt, and my father and mother, and everybody was taking care of all the sick kids. But it did affect my brother's eyes. That's why when he went into the service, he—they wouldn't take him because of his eyes. Of course, then the draft took him and put him in the air corps." Dr. Howard Williams of Orange tells how rubella, commonly known as the German measles, possibly saved his life during WWII: "I went up to Camp Atterbury [Joint Maneuver Training Center] in Indiana and finished my basic training there as a rifleman. And then we were all packed to go—we were in the 106th Division—and we're packed, ready to go that very week. And I got up with splotches all over me. I had measles—German. They put me in the hospital there at Camp Atterbury, and the 106th left. And then after ten days, they—the day the division's gone, they reassigned me. They sent me to a artillery observation battalion, and that was down at Camp Gordon, Georgia. "Well, the 106th that I was—would have been with, was one that was totally destroyed in the [Battle of the] Bulge. They were all pre-college type, and the Germans burst across the line there, and—gosh, a division is like fifteen thousand people. And out of fifteen thousand, I think like seven—six or seven thousand were killed, and another five or six thousand were captured. So had I not had German measles, I don't know what would have happened to me." Interviewer: "A lot of people you trained with, too." "And all these people I'd trained with and all. I mean, they just disappeared." Vaccines for measles and rubella were licensed in the U.S. in the 1960s. Since then, the number of cases has dropped by 99 percent, ending the role of these illnesses as anticipated life events. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Lynda Huffman left the corporate world after decades of working in medical sales. At this point in her life she wanted to concentrate on what made her happy -interior design. For over 30 years, she'd been designing and decorating on the side and now she's created the "Let's Decorate App" to help anyone and everyone have an easier time at what can be an overwhelming task-fixing up their own home.  Lynda will help you every step of the way.Lynda said that her story was complicated and in fact it truly is. I'll do my best in filling in the details.  Lynda's parents were in their teens when they met and realized that Carolyn, Lynda's biological mother, was pregnant. They married, then shortly before the baby was born, her father was sent to Vietnam. Subsequently, once dad was oversees, Carolyn was considered an unfit mother and lost custody of her two year old daughter.  At that point, Lynda's grandmother was granted custody.  Within a year Lynda was kidnapped from her grandmother's home by her mom and brought her daughter to Louisiana.  One night, Lynda was left under the care of an underage babysitter while her mother went to work. Unfortunately, Lynda had a terrible fever and the babysitter and her family brought her to the hospital. The doctors told them that Lynda had 103 fever and Rubella. A missing child report was filed and they brought Lynda back to her grandmother's care.  Lynda's father was summoned back to the US from Vietnam in order to handle the divorce and make sure his daughter was  safe and sound and then sent  back to fight in the war.  Two years passed and he eventually married Lynda's 'step mother'. The couple was married for 40 years. Lynda prefers to not give a name to her step mother and I'm sure you'll understand as you hear more of the story.   Lynda knows now that her step mother was extremely jealous of her.  Lynda also knows that her step-mother came from a very dysfunctional family and had a very abusive childhood.  "She was a constant source of real torment for me. All of my friends called me Cinderella" explains Lynda. I was her slave around the house. I was constantly told I was ugly and fat and I was never going to have a man take care of me" shares Lynda. This abuse started when Lynda was seven years old and lasted until she moved out at 18. Step-mom would lie to Lynda's father about things she never did in order to keep Lynda on restriction and not be able to leave the house.  "She kept me under thumb and she made sure that my dad was always mad at me for something," reflects my guest. For the most part, Lynda says "she was a good kid, though she did get caught sneaking out of the house one time but six weeks on restriction for not folding the clothes, was a bit much." My guest says she was just a good kid, a wall flower."  Lynda graduated hight school at seventeen, "but her dad wouldn't let her go away to college. My step mom was in my dad's ear, she didn't want me to leave the house."At 18, finally Lynda was able to move out of the house and got a job and was never going to go back to that house again. Lynda wanted to go to college whether she paid for it herself or not. She paid for college herself and she was never going to have to depend on them for anything. Lynda was going to prove to her step mother that "she did not need a man to take care of her!"Carolyn, Lynda's biological mom eventually  wanted to spend more time visiting her daughter. It wasn't until my guest was eighteen years old that she was able to go out with her mother alone.  At this point, Lynda had her mother on a pedestal. Lynda had envisioned her mom as 'a dream.' Anyone would be better than her step mother. Well, it turns out Carolyn had gotten remarried, but had  gotten pregnant just prior to  marrying her future second husband  and never told the truth about who's baby she was carrying.Lynda reflects on  the incredible take away of this story "it's made me who I am- good, bad or indifferent. I think that we make choices in life. I could have spent  the rest of my life feeling that anger that my mom had let me be raised by this wicked step mother." In my mind, when I grew up that's what all my friends called her." We make a decision, we can say, ok, i'm going to let this be the excuse for why I 'm behaving the way, ... but because my step mom was like that I chose to take a different approach with my step children and we are very close, I am very close with my stepchildren and they've been my step children since they were eight years old."Lynda chose forgiveness over anger after the birth of her second child. She realized that holding onto the anger and resentment toward her biological mother would only hurt her. She didn't want to continue this negative  tradition. Plus her children would benefit from having a grandmother in their life. Lynda is the first to admit that "her mother was a far better grandmother than a mother."Lynda proudly explains "my grandmother, Margaret,  was the one  I got my design eye from." As young as seven years old, Lynda knew  that she wanted to be an Interior Designer, especially after years of dusting and rearranging everything in her step mother's house every week. One of Lynda's favorite things to do was rearrange and decorate her room as a young girl. It brought her so much joy. In time,  Lynda  began sewing and became a seamstress, making beautiful curtains and pillows and was hoping to work in this field one day.Lynda can help you from your home on her new App - the "Let's Decorate App."  Everything from choosing paint colors to artwork, rugs, furniture and it's based on a variety of different rate packages based how many consultations you think you'd like, etc. You can ask Lynda  questions, send her room dimension, etc. It's all within the App so you'll have everything there as a reference. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lets-decorate/id1618796307 Link to the app in the app store. https://www.facebook.com/LetsDecoratehttps://www.instagram.com/letsdecoratenow/https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lets-decorate/id1618796307?itsct=apps_box_promote_link&itscg=30200WEBSITE:      https://www.letsdecorate.net/

Welcome to a special edition of the Encephalitis Podcast. As it is Encephalitis Information Week (Oct 17 to 21, 2022), we wanted to talk about the theme of this year's campaign - measles. This is a topic we wanted to discuss as recent research revealed that uptake of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella – or MMR vaccine - in England has fallen to its lowest levels in a decade and indeed even before the covid-19 pandemic the WHO declared that the UK had lost its measles-free status. The issue around childhood vaccinations is not restricted to the UK, however. In July, the World Health Organization revealed that 25 million children globally missed out on one or more of the doses of the vaccine against diptheria, tetanus and pertussis. That is the largest sustained decline in childhood vaccinations in approximately 30 years, according to the WHO and UNICEF. But why is the uptake of this vaccine at an all-time low? Is measles still a threat? How contagious is measles? Is there a risk of an outbreak? All these questions and more are answered by this episode's guest, Professor Benedict Michael, Chair of Infection Neuroscience at the University of Liverpool. These vaccines are proven to protect your baby against everything from tetanus to mumps to pertussis and more. This episode will cover: How vaccines workCriteria to create a vaccineThe 4 different types of vaccinesCommon myths or misconceptions about vaccinesSpecific vaccines (all routine childhood vaccines)Total number of vaccinesCommon side effects and red flags, how to treat How vaccines work: 00:44The purpose of vaccines is to trigger an immune response faster and with less harm than the original disease. The immune system is a lot like a microscopic team of superheroes, made up of white blood cells, antibodies, the complement system, and a few others.  These superheroes fight villains such as bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens.  If they cannot fight them fast enough, the villains will multiply and cause symptoms of disease.  Vaccines give your superhero team information about what the villains look like, so they can recognize them as soon as they enter the body, and fight them off quicker and easier.Vaccine criteria: 01:26In order to make a vaccine, certain conditions must be metIt has to be effective.  We must be able to become immune to the pathogen; diseases like RSV and HFM are ones we can catch multiple times.  Chickenpox is one that you become immune to after catching it once. The pathogen must not be able to mutate faster than the vaccine can be given - we do flu boosters annually because the flu virus mutates about that often.  HIV and common cold mutate too fast for a vaccine to be developed. The vaccine must be cost-effective; it has to be cheaper to prevent the disease than to treat itThere are 4 main types of vaccines: 02:31Inactivated (killed pathogens)Live attenuated (weakened pathogens)Toxoid (a piece of what's inside the pathogen)mRNA vaccines Inactivated vaccines 03:44Most common typeThe bacteria or viruses in the vaccine are killed, so your immune system can safely learn to recognize the pathogen that it is trying to fight off.  These vaccines do not have the potential to cause actual disease.  What they do is cause the immune system superheroes to practice fighting the villains, kind of like practicing on dummies, which may cause mild signs of illness - fever, sore muscles, crankiness, or other symptoms.  Examples: IPV (polio), HPV (human papillomavirus), HiB (Haemophilus influenzae B), pneumococcus (Streptococcus pneumoniae), meningococcus (Neisseria meningitidis), and Hepatitis A and B vaccines.Live attenuated vaccines 04:02Made from bacteria or viruses that have been exposed to chemicals that make them weaker than the natural or “wild type” bacteria or virus.  Since these pathogens are not killed completely, your superheroes aren't just practicing on dummies, they are actually fighting the weakened villains.  So it is possible to have symptoms of the disease, but milder.  Some people with weakened immune systems may not be able to fight them off, and can get the actual disease.  People taking steroid medications or immune suppressants, or who have HIV or other immune deficiencies should consult a doctor about whether it is safe to receive these vaccines.  Examples: oral polio vaccine, MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), Varicella zoster (chickenpox), and rotavirus vaccines.Toxoid vaccines 04:55Made from just part of the pathogen, and protect against the kinds of bacteria that cause symptoms after the toxins inside them are released.  These toxin-carrying bacteria are like villains carrying around a bottle of poison, and the toxoid vaccine gives the superheroes the poison to sample and build up resistance to it.  Example: DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis).MRNA vaccines 05:23Newest typemRNA is like a copy of instructions. These give your immune system something like a sewing pattern to print out and make the dummies for your body to fightExample: some COVID vaccinesMyths and misconceptions about vaccines: 05:45Many parents have concerns about vaccinating their children.  It only takes one serious reaction to call into question the safety of vaccines.  And it has been so long since the vaccine-preventable diseases have run rampant that we in the United States don't fully understand the scope of what is being prevented.  Here are some of the top concerns that I have heard from parents, and the truth behind them.Aluminum.  There is aluminum in vaccines, but the amount is far less than babies get from other sources.  The total amount of aluminum that babies get from vaccines in the first 6 months is 4.4mg.  Breastfed babies consume 7mg, formula-fed babies consume 38mg, and babies on soy formula consume 114mg of aluminum in the first 6 months of life.  Consuming aluminum vs. having it injected in a vaccine looks the same to the body, so the tiny amount of aluminum in vaccines will not harm your babyAntigens.  An antigen is any microscopic substance that has the possibility to elicit an immune response.  Babies are exposed to over a trillion antigens in the first year that naturally occur in the environment.  The entire vaccine series that children receive today contains just over 150 antigens.  A young baby's immune system can easily recognize these few antigens and make antibodies to the diseases without getting sick.Autism.  It has been proven that vaccines do NOT cause autism.  The age that children first start showing signs and can be tested for autism is 15-24 months.  This is the same age that children receive booster vaccines, so it is understandable that some parents think they are related. Long-term protection.  Vaccines will protect a person for just as long as if they got the original disease.  So a person who had chickenpox as a child is just as protected from getting it again as a person who has received the chickenpox vaccine.  Some people do not seroconvert (develop antibodies to that disease) - that depends on their immune system and is not a failure of the vaccine itself.Mercury.  There used to be a preservative called thimerosal in vaccines.  That preservative (which contains mercury) has been removed from all vaccines in the US that children receive.  The only vaccine that still contains thimerosal is the adult flu vaccine.Unnatural exposure.  Some people worry that getting exposed to a disease through an injection is not the same as getting it “naturally” by being exposed to a sick person.  This is not true; any disease will get into your bloodstream, which is where it is recognized by the body, and once in there the body has no idea how it got in.  So getting an injection looks exactly the same to your immune system as getting the disease from a sick person.Doctors DO NOT get paid to vaccinate childrenVaccines are NOT a punishment for children who are behaving badlySpecific vaccines: 10:47Hep B - 0, 2, 6 mos.  Hepatitis B is a viral infection that can be passed from mom to baby through the placenta or during delivery.  90% of babies born with HepB will develop chronic infection and are at risk of liver cancer later in life.DTaP - 2, 4, 6, 15 mos, 4 years.  Tdap - age 11, every 10 years.  DTaP has more diphtheria, Tdap has more tetanus. Bacterial infections.  Diphtheria causes severe sore throat and enlarged tonsils, and can block the airway from swelling/tonsils being so enlarged.  Tetanus makes spores that live in soil; any penetrating wound could have tetanus in it (nail/thumbtack, dog or cat bite) and tetanus is not killed by antibiotics so it must be prevented.  Pertussis is whooping cough and causes babies less than a year old to stop breathing.  Everyone who takes care of the baby should be current on their TDaP (within 10 years).  Polio - 2, 4, 6 mos, 4 years.  Polio is a virus that attacks nerves and causes paralysis.  Sometimes it's minor, and sometimes it's the diaphragm that's affected and they stop  breathing.  There is no specific treatment for polio.HiB - 2, 4, 6, 12-18 mos.  HiB (haemophilus influenzae B) bacterial infection that affects children less than 5 years, and especially those under 1 year of age.  It used to cause severe infections like epiglottitis, sepsis, pneumonia, and meningitis.  PCV - 2, 4, 6, 12-18 mos.  PCV = pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, pneumococcus is another name for streptococcus pneumonia, which is a kind of strep that gets into the bloodstream and causes sepsis, pneumonia, and meningitis.  PCV has 13 strains of strep in it right now.Rotavirus - 2, 4, 6 mos. Viral infection that causes severe diarrhea and dehydration in babies. Hep A - 12 and 18 mos. Hep A is a type of food poisoning, there's no specific treatment.  MMR - 1 and 4 years.  Measles causes high fever, rash, and can cause brain damage, hearing loss, and death.  Mumps causes parotitis (infection of salivary glands), but in boys also causes orchitis (inflammation of testicles) and can lead to sterility.  Rubella is a fever and rash; more dangerous to unborn babies, causes miscarriages and birth defects.VZV - 1 and 4 years.  Varicella Zoster virus (chickenpox) causes cold symptoms, fever, and an itchy and painful rash in children, and shingles in adults.  VZV in pregnancy causes miscarriages and birth defects.MCV - 11 and 16 years.  Meningitis A, C, W, Y are viruses that cause inflammation around the brain that develops quickly and can be fatal.  HPV - 11 years.  Human papilloma virus causes warts and dysplasia and can lead to cancer of the mouth, throat, anus, cervix, and penis.  Currently 9 strains of HPV in the vaccine.  Flu: recommended annually COVID: recommendations are still evolvingVaccines that are available but not given routinely: MenB, PPSV23, Dengue, Typhoid, japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, rabiesTotal numbers of vaccines: 22:351 at birth (Hep B)2 mos: DTaP, polio, HiB, Hep B, PCV, rotavirus - 1 or 2 combo vaccines, PCV and rota = 2 or 3 shots plus an oral vaccine4 mos: DTaP, polio, HiB, PCV, rotavirus - 1 combo plus PCV and rota = 2 shots and one oral6 mos: DTaP, polio, HiB, Hep B, PCV, rotavirus - 1 or 2 combo vaccines, PCV and rota = 2 or 3 shots plus an oral vaccine6+ mos: flu vaccine annually12-18 mos: 2 doses Hep A, 1 of DTaP, HiB, PCV, MMR, VZV.  5-7 shots depending on combos.4-6 years: DTaP, polio, MMR, VZV, typically given as 2 combo vaccines11 years: Tdap, MCV, 2 doses HPV16 years: MCV21+ years: Tdap every 10 years; booster if you have a wound and it's been less than 5 years, booster while pregnant9 shots and 3 oral before 1 year of age, 5-7 shots from age 1-2, 2 shots age 4-6, 4 at age 11, 1 at age 16 = 21-23 total shots before adulthood.  18 flu shots.  Common vaccine reactions: 23:53Birth: nothing; sometimes redness/swelling2-6 mos: redness and swelling (local reaction), can be as much as the entire thigh and still be considered normal.  Low grade fevers.12-18 mos and 4-6 years: muscle soreness, MMR and VZV cause fevers, VZV sometimes causes rash, other vaccines can cause local reactions11yrs: muscle soreness, local reaction with Tdap and MCV, fainting with HPV16 yrs: local reaction from MCVTdap boosters: muscle sorenessFlu, COVID: flu-like symptomsIt is NOT normal to have a body rash or vomiting after vaccines; those are signs of allergyLarge local reactions and muscle soreness can be treated with cool compresses (wet washcloth) and/or acetaminophen or ibuprofen.  Fever or flu-like symptoms: acetaminophen or ibuprofenI DON'T recommend pre-medicating your child before vaccinesIf your child has an adverse reaction to a vaccine, you should report it to VAERS (vaccine adverse event reporting system).  Remember that VAERS is like Yelp for vaccines, so take that about as seriously as you would a Yelp review. All of this information is also in The Baby Manual book, which is available for purchase. Remember it is always okay to call your doctor or emergency services if you have concerns about your baby's health.  Resources discussed in this episode:The Baby Manual - Available on AmazonVAERS--Dr. Carole Keim MD: linktree | tiktok | instagram

In this episode we are interviewing a FORMER anti-vaxer and hope to shed some light on the other side of the story. For many of us it is hard to comprehend in this statistics driven world that some of our fellow citizens can remain so willfully ignorant in the face of overwhelming data.Essential Oils, Crystals, Detoxing, Genetically Modified Organisms, Organic Food, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Chiropractic, Feng Shui, Iridology, Homeopathy, Magnets, Naturopaths, Reiki, Reflexology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tarot Cards, Palm Reading and drinking your own urine are just some of the Science Denial we discuss in this episode. What are the consequences in adulthood of having been vulnerable and exposed to Vaccine Preventable Diseases as a child? What role does politics play in the decision to not immunize? How can the rest of us reach these free riding pariahs, coasting along on the privilege of herd immunity? And WTF is a Homeopathic Prophylactic?Find out in this inspiring journey out of the ego driven Dunning-Kruger bubble and into the enlightenment? This episode is a follow up the last episode ‘A Pox to You' where we compared and contrasted the anti-vax movement of today with the hysterical response to Small Pox inoculations in a world filled with witches and demons 300 hundred years ago.If you haven't listened to the ‘A Pox to You' episode yet, I highly recommend you go back after this one and have a listen. It has a lot of information relevant to this discussion and is an honest representation of the format this podcast usually follows. Which while being fact based is predominantly viewed through the lens of irreverent comedy.
