Next in Media spoke with Matt Edelman, Chief Commercial Officer, Super League Gaming, about whether Fortnite still has a grip on gamers - and how brands can get involved. Edelman also talked about Roblox's growing ad ambitions, the overall gaming ad market, and why he thinks we need to ditch the word "gamer".Takeaways:The Evolution of Gaming and Advertising – Gaming has become an undeniable force in media, with 3.3 billion gamers worldwide. Generational Shift in Media Buying – Many CMOs and CEOs are Gen Xers who didn't grow up with video games as a central part of their lives. The Concept of “Making Brands Playable” – Super League focuses on interactive advertising rather than just passive exposure. Fortnite's Two Worlds: Battle Royale vs. Creative Mode – Fortnite has both its first-party Battle Royale mode and a user-generated content (UGC) Creative mode where brands can build their own islands (maps). Roblox as an Expanding Advertising Platform – Roblox is scaling its ad solutions with programmatic ad products but still lags behind mobile gaming in measurement, attribution, and targeting. Playable Ads in Mobile Gaming Are the Future – Mobile gaming has a mature advertising ecosystem, but Super League is innovating by turning traditional video ads into interactive experiences that match gameplay styles, dramatically increasing engagement and click-through rates.Breaking Down the “Gamer” Stereotype – Marketers need to stop thinking of "gamers" as a niche audience and recognize that their existing target demographics are already playing games.
Enterprise Connect Podcast | Technology Reseller News “RCS will bring rich messaging to 100% of the U.S. population — and it's going to change the face of customer experience.” – Ivan Ostojic, Chief Business Officer, Infobip. Messaging is transforming — fast. At Enterprise Connect 2025, Infobip's Chief Business Officer Ivan Ostojic joined Doug Green of Technology Reseller News to share key findings from the company's latest research on global messaging trends and the rapidly accelerating adoption of RCS (Rich Communication Services) in North America. According to Infobip's data, RCS adoption increased fivefold in 2024, a leap Ostojic described as “historic” — and one with major implications for how businesses engage with customers. “North America has long lagged behind in rich messaging due to the limited adoption of WhatsApp,” said Ostojic. “But with Apple now supporting RCS and carriers onboard, we expect near-universal reach by the end of the year.” Three Trends Colliding to Reshape CX Ostojic highlighted three converging forces: A Generational Shift in Preferences – Up to 90% of Gen Z prefers messaging over voice calls for business interactions. Super Apps and Rich Channels – Messaging platforms now include app-like experiences, payment flows, and deep integrations. Agentic AI – Natural language interfaces and AI agents are enabling hyper-personalized, real-time conversations. Together, these trends position rich messaging channels as both a front-end interface for AI and a critical layer of the customer experience. Commerce, Support, and Engagement Reimagined Whether shopping, troubleshooting, or simply staying informed, Ostojic shared real-world examples of how RCS and rich messaging are redefining user journeys: A customer can request a product, receive personalized recommendations, complete a purchase, and pay — all within a single chat. Enterprises can route inquiries intelligently, escalating complex issues to live agents, all within the same channel. Healthcare and media organizations use messaging for ongoing engagement, from appointment reminders to interactive campaigns. The Reality Gap: Messaging Maturity Still Low Despite the tech's potential, Infobip's Conversational Maturity Index revealed a slower reality. Only 30% of companies are truly omnichannel, and just 10–15% use advanced conversational AI in customer-facing roles. “The technology is ready,” said Ostojic, “but most businesses are still in early phases of adoption.” A Call to Action for Enterprises and the Channel Ostojic advised organizations to be purposeful in deploying AI, starting with use cases that deliver clear ROI. He also emphasized a major opportunity for channel partners: to bring this technology to their customers, simplify integrations, and unlock new value streams. Next in Media spoke with Andrew Rosen, an analyst and author of the newsletter Medium Shift, about the struggles traditional media companies are having in catering to younger sports fans.Rosen also talked about the various attempts at recreating sports bundles, and whether we're headed toward a world where all sports are available via streaming, yet fans are more confused and overwhelmed than ever.Takeaways:The Shift from Streaming Wars to RebundlingThe streaming industry is moving past the "streaming wars" phase into a period of rebundling. Companies are seeking ways to package content more efficiently while keeping consumers engaged. The Role of Fandom in Media StrategySuccessful media companies hyper-serve niche fandoms, as seen with the New York Times acquiring The Athletic and Crunchyroll's anime dominance.Legacy Media vs. Digital Native PlatformsTraditional media companies struggle with direct-to-consumer (DTC) strategies, while platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and Tubi personalize user experiences for higher engagement. The Future of Sports StreamingESPN faces challenges in making sports content discoverable. Apple is already outperforming ESPN in driving sports engagement through push notifications.AI's Role in Content CreationGenerative AI isn't replacing creators—it's giving them superpowers. Those with storytelling skills will thrive, while others may struggle. Many decision-makers in legacy media lack a deep understanding of DTC logic. A younger generation, raised in the digital age, will likely reshape the future. The Long-Term Future of Sports RightsWhile sports streaming is growing, broadcast TV is still dominant. The real battle is understanding how sports fans engage and what they'll pay for.Guest: Andrew RosenHost: Mike ShieldsSponsor: ElementalTVProducer: FEL Creative

Welcome to the Kids Ministry and Leadership Podcast. This month we are delving deep into Navigating a Seismic Generational Shift looks like and how the world today is undergoing profound shifts, and with each new generation, the landscape of ministry is changing rapidly. Show notes for this ep will be below.Check us out!WebsiteInstagramGeneration Alpha, children born between 2010 and 2024, are growing up in an age of technology, secularism, and increasing global connectivity. For church leaders, this "seismic generational shift" presents both challenges and opportunities. ………………………………………1. Understanding the Emerging Generation AlphaBefore diving into specific strategies, it is essential to first understand who Generation Alpha is. This group is vastly different from previous generations, shaped by technologies that were only imagined just a decade ago. Scripture: Psalm 78:6 - "So that the next generation would know, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children."………………………………………2. The Secularization Challenge and the Christian ResponseSecularism is nothing new, but it has accelerated at a staggering pace among younger generations, particularly in the West. Scripture: Romans 1:20 - "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."………………………………………3. Family as the Core of Faith FormationAt the heart of faith formation lies the family. However, modern families are under pressure, and many parents feel ill-equipped to disciple their children. Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 - "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children."………………………………………4. Navigating Technology with a Biblical WorldviewTechnology is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it provides unprecedented opportunities for connection, learning, and creativity. Scripture: Psalm 145:4 - "One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts."………………………………………5. Cultivating a Biblical Identity Amidst Secular InfluenceIn a world where secular ideologies increasingly dominate the cultural landscape, Generation Alpha is growing up with conflicting messages about identity, truth, and purpose. Scripture: Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."………………………………………ConclusionAs we face this seismic generational shift, church leaders must approach ministry with wisdom, flexibility, and deep reliance on biblical truth. Closing Scripture: Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

Next in Creator Media spoke with analyst Doug Shapiro, author of The Mediator, about how fundamentally the growth of creators is shifting consumption habits and media economics, and what Hollywood and Madison Avenue should do about it.Takeaways:Shift in Media Consumption HabitsTraditional media is facing stagnation due to a fixed amount of consumer attention, while creator media is rapidly growing, now contributing to roughly half of media industry growth globally.Dominance of Creator MediaThe creator economy, including YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms, produces content at an unprecedented scale, significantly outpacing traditional media in volume and engagement.Changing Definition of QualityYounger audiences prioritize authenticity, relatability, and quick gratification in their media consumption, reshaping traditional definitions of quality content.Inevitability of the Creator EconomyThe shift towards creator-led platforms is described as "relentless and inevitable," with traditional media unable to reverse this trend entirely.Challenges for Traditional MediaInstitutional media companies struggle to adapt to the democratization of content creation and distribution, hampered by their entrenched focus on high production values and limited competitor sets.Generational Shift and SustainabilityThe shift toward creator media is not a passing trend but represents a deeper generational shift, emphasizing consumer preferences for user-generated content.Guest: Doug ShapiroHost: Mike ShieldsSponsor: VuePlannerProducer: FEL Creative

It's no secret that financial advisors who want to serve wealthier clients need to go where the money is. Traditionally, that's meant courting baby boomers. Today, however, moving upmarket increasingly means attracting and serving younger generations. For example: Millennials represent the largest age demographic category—they are the clients of the future. Millennials are heading toward their prime earning years, professionally. Millennials and Gen Z-ers are inheriting significant wealth. Millennials and Gen Z-ers are interested in working with financial advisors. CEG Insights recently surveyed more than 700 affluent millennials (along with more than 150 Gen Z-ers) about their wealth. What they told us may have major implications for how advisors manage their practices in the coming years. Watch, read or listen to find out more on our website for top financial advisors at CEGWorldwide.Com.
“So many times these employers are like, ‘dude, I spend so much money on this, and my employees don't care at all.' Or what's even worse is they go, ‘our employees love it, we have a great, great plan.' Did they tell you that?” - Luke Aslesen This is one of my favorite podcasts of the year: Luke Aslesen, Founder of INFRMD, joined me to talk about entrepreneurship, creativity in insurance, comedy, and how to stay authentic. INFRMD is an insurance education platform, designed to make it as easy as possible for employees to understand and use their benefits. Luke and I discussed the importance of education, why this type of solution is so needed, and how he value it provides to employers. The expression went viral in the 1960s: generation gap. Those in power had fought in World War II and were shocked to see college students in the US rebel against the call to serve their country and go to war. How much has the current movement on college campuses exposed a new generation gap? Will the consequences be as far-reaching? For the first time since the Vietnam War, Columbia University brought in police to break up a pro-Palestinian encampment, sparking further sit-in protests across the US. We ask about the students' calls for a ceasefire and for some, a boycott of Israel along the lines of the 1980s movement to divest from apartheid-era South Africa. Will a seemingly endless war in Gaza tear the American left apart, the way the Vietnam War did?And what about this side of the Atlantic? Students here, too, are divided. Many also perceive Israel not as David but as Goliath. How should the legitimate fears felt by both Jews and Muslims that the eruption in the Middle East will lead to unbridled intolerance going mainstream be addressed? Produced by Alessandro Xenos, Rebecca Gnignati and Imen Mellaz.
