There's little in life I find more inspiring than when a person takes a difficult situation and creates something amazing out of it! Rob DiMedio is one of those people! Rob, a post-op who chronicled his journey on social media, has taken his passion for health and created a business called Busy Bariatrics. Due to Rob's passion for taking charge of his health, Busy Bariatrics has gotten VERY BUSY! If you already know Rob, you'll love catching up with him on this episode. If you don't know Rob, you're in for a treat! Listen in and become one of the people inspired by this energetic post-op!Resources:BariAfterare: www.bariaftercare.comConnie Stapleton PhD website: www.conniestapletonphd.comBariAftercare website: https://www.conniestapletonphd.com/bariaftercareBariAftercare Facebook page (for members only): https://www.facebook.com/groups/BariAftercareKevin Stephens: Your Bariatric Buddy https://www.facebook.com/groups/yourbariatricbuddy/peopleInstagram: @cale101 (Caleshia Haynes)Instagram: @therealbariboss (Tabitha Johnson)Instagram @drsusanmitchell (Dr. Susan Mitchell)Instagram: @lauraleepreston (Laura Preston)ProCare Vitamins (10% off with code ConnieStapleton)Rob DiMedio: https://www.busybariatrics.com/Dr. Joan Brugman: drjbrugman@outlook.comDr. Susan Mitchell:https://www.facebook.com/DrSusanMitchellhttps://www.facebook.com/bariatricsurgerystrategiesPlease subscribe to the show and rate it on Apple Podcasts, download free information at www.conniestapletonphd.com, and follow me on Twitter (@cstapletonphd), Instagram (@cstapletonphd), YouTube, LinkedIn, and on Facebook.

Also, the guys chat about Jacob's trip to Mexico, Colton's trip to the MN High School Hockey State Tourney, and Isaiah hangs with Reese at First Ave. Plus... Josh Piccione is a go-getter as the GM of Tom Wood Collision. They are a dealership owned shop in Indianapolis that is VERY BUSY! As a very active member in the Collision Cocktail Hour, Josh has worked very hard to make sure their vehicles are repaired according to the manufacturer repair procedures and has had a hard time battling the insurance companies to figure out how that was going to work in his shop. His experience is awesome and he brings very helpful information to others working to do the same thing.Josh had an "aha" moment when he was in Mike Anderson's class and got called out about security features and post-collision inspections and his shop has never operated the same way again.Listen to how he changed things up in his shop and dug in to do the right thing - even though he thought they had been before!Reach out to Josh Piccione directly.Josh's Email: josh_piccione@tomwood.comTom Wood Collision Website: https://www.tomwoodcollision.com/Join us for the Collision Cocktail Hour monthly meeting: https://collisioncocktailhour.com/Support the showFor more info on Micki's Marketing Services to help you grow your shop's revenue click here: https://collisioncentermarketing.comEmail Micki directly at micki@mickiwoodsmarketing.com Join the Body Bangin' Facebook Group!https://www.facebook.com/groups/989546031854134

"The worst deception is self deception. Plato" Mike Boyne. Dear listener, be under no illusion that we at TM&TM Towers do not deceive ourselves. We know that nobody is asking for more episodes or content. But we play by our own rules, not yours, and we just keep on going. Well, some of us do. On the latest episode of TM&TM, the pod's favourite host, as voted for by the TM&TM hosts, Bergus Elias, did not turn up to the recording. Apparently he's "busy with harvest.". No, we don't know either. For a deep dive into the life of one of the UK's best winemakers, head over to Balfour's social media channels for a daily update. They really are great videos and give you an insight into the life of a VERY BUSY winemaker. Valiantly stepping into the plate and up to the fold then, we are delighted to introduce FotP, Mr Mike Boyne of Bin Two fame. He's also very busy as he too has a vineyard and makes wine. Not quite as much as Ferg but who said that size mattered? Initially the plan was to discuss small versus big winemaking and just how nice people in English wine really are. However, the episode took a turn very quickly as Mike and Lee end up talking about mental health generally, and frame it in the context of the wider drinks industry. Mental health has rightly become a more important and less stigmatised subject, yet still needs more discussion. What are your experiences of the treatment and discussion around mental health in the drinks industry? We would love to hear your thoughts. Serious stuff aside, we quickly delve into the Mike's itch (we advised seeing a specialist), Lee's morning routine, and a reference that probably only Paul Mabray stands a chance of catching. With huge thanks to Mike Boyne for being an exceptional cohost, and indeed, wonderful human being. Head to Bin Two's website to grab some great wines, and some of that awesome merch that we mention. For anyone struggling with mental health challenges, speak up. We're here to listen and you can always contact the NHS, The Samaritans, or MIND. Sending our best TM&TM vibes to anyone finding it hard. The Maker And The Merchant: NosBergAtu, available to loadcast wherever you downpod on Thursday morning.

Corinna has been VERY BUSY speaking out against medically harming children or in favor of genocide (depending), including delivering this excellent 3-minute testimony supporting Indiana SB 480. Nina grapples with the Kafkaesque nightmare that is Indiegogo. Hey hey! Welcome to week three of our Smart Girl Summer Series as I continue to speak with my most brilliant friends sharing behind-the-scenes stories that you won't hear anywhere else. Be sure to listen in today as I chat with author, speaker, podcaster, Christian leader, and my long-time friend, Bianca Olthoff. We talk about how the early death of a dream she had for her future actually led to her discovering what God called her to do. Don't miss how she references the word reboot many times throughout this interview… such wisdom is found in each mention! I promise! Bianca Juarez Olthoff is the best-selling author of Play With Fire and How To Have Your Life Not Suck and host of the We're Going There podcast. She is a passionate Jesus-loving, Bible-teaching, book-writing MexiRican who loves to help people navigate life, connect in community, and live significantly. Listen in to learn more about: How Bianca believes God has graced her for various seasons of life (including this VERY BUSY current one) and how He does the same for each one of us as well. Creating space in our lives to look back on our hardest seasons to see how far God has brought us (and take the time to celebrate the spiritual success and growth found there!) The practical ways Bianca accomplishes so much in her everyday life, including what she learned after tracking 14 days of her life. Favorite quotes: ~ If the Lord is asking you to lay this down it's because it's not Yours to carry and when you pick this up it will be with even greater strength. ~ When you're building a business, when you're building your purpose , when you're walking in you're calling -it's like triage, I need to invest in the things that are actually going to live. ~Anointing does not mean awesome, it means you are set apart. ~ Identify your voice. What is your teaching style? ~ Right now we have access to every amazing biblical communicator there is across the world. What happens is that we are prone to emulate the voice , the sound of other people we admire. That's great to be inspired by, It's dangerous to be influenced by. S02E07 A day in the life of A Maths & Finance Educator with Helen Westwood.Welcome to Season 2 of the UK Educators Community Podcast, where you'll get a sneak peek into Educator's diaries, as Syd asks her guests to run through one of their typical days. On this episode, you'll meet Helen Westwood. After completing her degree, Helen worked in corporate as a Tax Consultant. After a couple of years, (and a meeting with one of her old teachers), Helen was offered a job on the graduate teacher programme at the school she once studied at. She's now spent several years leading finance courses for post-16 year olds.As well as her work with the school, Helen runs her own private tutoring in Maths and Finance. She's VERY BUSY and booked up until 2025!!This is an engaging chat, with many key points, including:Some consider online booking tools, such as Calendly to be a little impersonal. When used well, and at the end of the process they are excellent. You have already built rapport with the client and simply send them a link, where they can book a formal appointment.Time management is essential when you have other commitments. Helen works in large "chunks" of time, so she's always fully present when with family, or students (even if it IS on a Friday night at 8pm!)Helen's soon to be offering very early tutoring sessions. Some families will take their children to swimming lessons, horse riding lessons, etc before school, so early morning pre-school run lessons are soon to be trialled. As mentioned, Helen's booked up until 2025. Every few months, she checks in with her advance bookings to ensure they're still interested. To find out more about Helen's tutoring business, visit: https://helenwestwoodmaths.com/For full show notes and more details about this and other episodes, please check here: https://ukeducators.com/podcasts/To join in the conversation with other educators, here's the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ukeducators_________________________________________More about Syd.Syd is on a mission to disrupt the Education sector by empowering Education Businesses to think differently, maximising their impact and enabling them to continue doing what they do best – being an awesome Educator! She recognises there are many great educators out there. S02E05 A day in the life of An English Teacher with Andrea GadsbeyWelcome to Season 2 of the UK Educators Community Podcast, where you'll get a sneak peek into Educator's diaries, as Syd asks her guests to run through one of their typical days. On this episode, you'll meet Andrea Gadsbey.Andrea's a VERY BUSY person! She's a full time English teacher at a school in Manchester, a single mother, and she recently founded Hope Tuition Clinic: https://www.facebook.com/HPEnglishClinic/A lot of things came out of her chat with Syd, including:There is less "joy in schooling" than there used to be, mainly down to the curriculum being very pressurised, with much of the joy of learning being sucked out it.The pandemic has allowed us to take a look at the current system and given us the opportunity to think about how we do education differently and bring it more up to date.Setting up and running you own business is stressful, but because you're in control of all elements it's a different kind of stress, to when you're employed and have no control at all.You can find out more about Hope Tuition Clinic here: https://www.facebook.com/HPEnglishClinic/For full show notes and more details about this and other episodes, please check here: https://ukeducators.com/podcasts/To join in the conversation with other educators, here's the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ukeducators_________________________________________More about Syd.Syd is on a mission to disrupt the Education sector by empowering Education Businesses to think differently, maximising their impact and enabling them to continue doing what they do best – being an awesome Educator! She recognises there are many great educators out there. We're back! After being Very Busy (one of us making HUMANS and the other making SPAGHETTI) we're joined by the gigantically kind, glorious and beloved Claire Hooper who has written a kids book like the magnificent baller she is. Princess Benjamina Has a Very Cheeky Bum is in all good bookstores right now and it's a beautifully crafted tale about your inner voice, when it's kind to share and finding safe spaces to speak. We chat with Claire about having big chats about hard stuff with kids and how on earth you navigate politically charged and emotionally difficult conversations. We also talk getting older ungracefully- what's it feel like? Are we getting better at talking across the generations? Why is Claire Hooper drawing sexy horses? Strap yourselves in! That Anxiety Guy - Straight Talk And Help With Anxiety, Panic and Agoraphobia
A couple of months ago I did a "gender issues in recovery" episode with my friend Bridget Cooper. The response was good! ALL voices and experiences matter, so this week we chat with Dr. Lisa Cortez about anxiety and mental health issues in the Latinx community. Lisa and I discussed cultural, religious and gender issues that impact mental health treatment and anxiety recovery in the Latinx community. Dr. Lisa is a VERY BUSY practicing therapist in south Texas. Her region is predominately Mexican-American. Lisa's own heritage and her involvement in the mental health of her community have provided her with an inside look at the issues that Latinx men and women face when approaching anxiety and mental health in general. Today we had updates from Lady Gaga's missing dog case, Drinks that you ICE and drinks that you DON'T ice, Wild or tame - how was YOUR bachelor/bachelorette party, what temperature is "shorts weather" for you, and Alley was VERY BUSY at the Home Depot yesterday. Hello! Welcome back to another October Podcast Month episode! If you’re a free subscriber, you might have noticed you didn’t get an episode on Friday. This is not because I stopped podcasting after one brief reappearance; it’s because I made Friday’s podcast for my paid subscribers! I spent all day Friday practicing for a live reading to promote the Kickstarter for Speculative Fiction For Dreamers. That Kickstarter ends Wednesday, and I’m reeeeeally hoping it meets its funding goal because I haven’t read all the other stories and poems and plays and things in the book! I need it to be real so I can! Image description: a screenshot of the Speculative Fiction for Dreamers Kickstarter as of 7:25pm Eastern time on Monday, October 19, 2020. It still needs almost $4000! Click on the image to go to the Kickstarter page and back the project! ANYWAY! Because that’s what I was focused on Friday, I decided to read that excerpt for my paid subscribers. Then for the rest of the weekend, I didn’t release podcast episodes because my original plan was always to take weekends off. And it’s a good thing, too, because I was Very Busy! This episode is all about the stuff I did and the ways I have seen people coming up with creative ways to hold social events and performances during a time when it’s not really a great idea for most of us to go out and meet each other in person. I talk about FIYAHCON and The Ignyte Awards, which were wonderful, and recognized so many awesome creative works and people. I am particularly excited to see Strange Horizons recognized with an award at long last after being nominated so many times in the past for other awards, but not winning. The team there truly does so much work to make the science fiction community more rich and inclusive. But seriously, every person and work that won an award is amazing, and I encourage you to check all of them out!I also captained a trivia team for Clarion West and attended a cold read of a new play by Liz Duffy Adams. So many cool ways to connect with people and experience art online! Tell me some of your favorite virtual events, or how you’ve seen them go poorly. I think both sides of it are interesting and important to consider as we forge ahead in pandemic time. This is a public episode. Get access to private episodes at omgjulia.substack.com/subscribe
A major silver lining of the current pandemic is that one can find usually VERY BUSY people at home, and eager to chat. One-time stranger, longtime friend Mr. Brian Elmquist has been very busy in recent years on the road around the world with his spectacularly popular 'Americana' band, The Lone Bellow. But I was able to catch up with him at home in Nashville with his lovely wife and beautiful kids and chat about a whole lot of things including his LIVE streaming concert on Instagram TONIGHT at 10 EST for the great NYC venue Rockwood Music Hall, where I used to see him play back when he was still waiting tables at Dizzy's Diner near my apartment in Brooklyn. Despite the sadly disrupted concert tour for The Lone Bellow's fabulous new album, Half Moon Light, Brian and the gang are still connecting to fans in creative ways, like this show on Instagram tonight to which you can buy tickets here to support @brianelmquist and @rockwoodmusichall. What I have loved about Brian since I first met him at Dizzy's is his incredible desire and talent for connecting to people in a real and honest way. I saw it in his eyes and heard it in his voice when first I saw him play at Rockwood. "You were like an angel," I told him during the podcast. And he was humble in receiving the compliment, as he is, but it's true. Brian first learned to perform in church growing up in Georgia, and his faith--in family, in community, in people, in life - is evident in his music and in talking to him, which I love to do every chance I get. Brian's commitment to building strong communities for all is no more evident than in his performance on behalf of my nonprofit InspireCorps for the kids at PS81. Watch the awesome video here, donated by Brian and his friend James Cernero. And listen in to this great conversation with Mr. Elmquist, at home.
Making a new episode was difficult and didn't feel natural so I decided to grab snippets from most of my episodes that I found funny or things I really liked mentioning. If I put EVERYTHING, this episode would have been long as fuck so I really wanted to keep it short. Thank you for your support and love, happy birthday Very Busy. :)
Episode 024 - I Rest in Faith I have been addicted to an illusion, a false belief. It made me feel better, and so I keep running back to it. But it's not real. My illusion? I am in control. Episode 023 - It's Time to Listen to the Survivors of Sexual Abuse One of the easiest ways to fail to love well is to assume that YOUR experience is canonical and that others have had the same experience you've had. We often do this with survivors of trauma. In this episode Mary DeMuth, author and advocate for sexual abuse victims, speaks to the issue of how Christians and Church Leaders often fail the survivors of trauma and how we can do better. Episode 022 - We've Gotten God's Glory Upside Down I grew up learning a Christian story that the most important thing was God's glory. We gave God glory by what we believed, how we behaved, and how we talked about God to other people. Good Christians and Good churches would focus on giving God glory above all else. To kick off season 2 of the podcast, I'm going to share with you how I'm learning we may have misunderstood God's glory. Show Notes Show notes will not be a transcript. At least not now. After we hung out with Dave Engbers and and Bob Kaiser on the phone in the last episode, we wrapped up the calls live with Natalie Crystal, New Jersey and Delaware Area Sales Manager for Founders. You’ll notice Natalie took the place of our host Jay Rose for this episode, he was VERY BUSY and had to hurry out the door after the phone calls. Nat does an awesome job mixing it up with Rob and Richard while opening a few heavy hitters from Founders including Mas' Agave, Blushing Monk, and Barrel Runner. She was also nice enough to open a Kane Brewing Mexican Brunch for good measure. Thank you Founders Brewing and thank you Natalie for 2 great episodes!
This episode of Jim's Lower Lounge is our most classical episode ever. Our guest, Leigh Howard Stevens, is a New Jersey native and world-renowned percussionist who has made historic contributions to the study of the marimba and other mallet instruments. He has also published several acclaimed books on percussion technique, and he is the founder of Malletech, a New Jersey-based company that manufactures and distributes instruments and mallets of Stevens' own design. Today, we discuss Leigh's many years of entrepreneurship and why he loves listening to classical music, as well how to (and how not to) spend a fortune on audio equipment.Find Leigh Howard Stevens:mostlymarimba.commalletech.com/aboutFeatured music:Claude Debussy. “Children’s Corner / Serenade for the Doll.”Performed by Leigh Howard Stevens.Marimba When…, Resonator Records, 1993.J.S.
