In this podcast episode, Victoria Kleinsman talks about overcoming the fear of weight gain. She shares her personal struggles with this fear and offers practical tips on how we can move past it to live fuller, happier lives. Main discussion points: - Weight gain is often seen as a marker of personal failure in society. This breeds deep fears in many people (Victoria shares that she'd rather have died than gain weight). - The fear manifests in behaviours like chronic dieting, bingeing-purging cycles, obsessive weighing, etc. But these approaches rarely work long-term. - Fear of weight gain is not innate; it's learned. It links to deeper fears of being unloved and rejected. - The fear can become self-fulfilling - stress promotes fat storage. Fear of weight gain causes stress leading to actual weight gain. - Shift focus to self-care habits that gradually diffuse the fear - pursuing passions, spending time with body-positive people, speaking kindly to yourself. - Understand that you can live happily at many weights. Chasing thinness often sacrifices what truly matters - intimacy, meaning, fulfillment. Key quotes: "I would rather have died than gain weight." [00:01:39] "We think we'll be better when we're thinner. It's time to claim back your worthiness, my love." [00:08:30] "Thinness is not an innate human need. Love and acceptance is." Today I'm talking to Victoria Kleinsman – a Brit living her best life in the Netherlands. Victoria is a food freedom & body love coach, inspirational speaker, podcast host, and writer. She is certified in psychology, spirituality and the science of nutrition and is also inspired greatly in her work, by her own personal experience and walking a tumultuous recovery journey herself. Victoria has overcome anorexia, binge eating disorder, bulimia and an abusive relationship. She struggled for over 20 years with poor body image and disordered eating. But today, Victoria eats whatever she wants, when she wants, in any amount that she wants. She makes food choices from a place of nourishment and pleasure. She is healthy, confident and knows her worth. Her self-love is overflowing from within and she has, as she describes, ‘oodles to give others'. This episode has already been released on Victoria's Body Love Binge Podcast back in February 2024 – as it was a joint episode that we decided to share on both our podcasts. In this episode, we talk about our own healing journeys and how we have navigated through these. We talk about why people don't feel good enough and the roots of this in experiences and trauma. We talk about suppressed feelings and how eating disorder behaviours help us cope and keep us trapped. Today I'm talking to Victoria Kleinsman – a Brit living her best life in the Netherlands. When talking to Victoria, I was absolutely struck by her openness and vulnerability in sharing, and also the level of transformation that she has undergone - from being completely food obsessed and self-loathing of her body; in the depths of despair with her self-esteem on the floor, to finding genuine peace with food; body love and a deep sense of worth and self-love. This is a truly inspiring and uplifting conversation to provide hope for what is possible in recovery. I hope that you enjoy it. Wellness doesn't have to be an exclusive club. Unfortunately, that's a pretty revolutionary thought these days. Social media has steered the wellness industry in such a way that it has made it almost inaccessible to the average person! This doesn't mean that all diets and wellness trends are intrinsically harmful, but they should align with your lifestyle and budget in order to make meaningful and sustainable changes. At ITN, we believe many aspects of the wellness industry have become both overrated and, quite frankly, overpriced and we are weighing in on the topic. On this episode you'll discover: What "wellness" truly means How social media has impacted our perception of health An inside glimpse of what falling victim to "trendy" wellness practices looks like Strategies to help you quickly identify health fads Topics Covered: Creating individualized wellness goals and plans Analyzing trends before integrating them into your lifestyle How social media influences the wellness industry Filtering out what is a trend and what is the truth Practicing basic healthy habits that help you thrive in life Important Links: Show notes for this episode Transcript for this episode Resources Mentioned: Transformation Generation Facebook group Learn more about becoming a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach Watch the Dream Career video series Guest Info Connect with Victoria Kleinsman on Instagram Follow Us: Visit our website Follow us on Instagram Follow us on Facebook

Together, Chrystal and Victoria discuss the role of fear in our everyday lives. We may want to start a business or take a risk, but it's hard to get started when you're in a constant state of flight or fight.Tune into this week's episode of The Self Love Breakfast Club for a conversation about looking inward to shift negative thought patterns, listening to your body's signals, and accepting that we need adversity to grow. We often tend to think that if we just lose more weight or drink more water, all of our problems will go away. However, Chrystal acknowledges that body and food obsessions usually reflect a deeper-seated issue that requires facing your inner child to resolve them.Tune into Part One of Chrystal and Victoria's conversation on body image and everything that drives it. Learn how Chrystal began to view food differently, appreciate her body, and shift her beliefs to remember that her highest self has always been who she is at her core.Quotes• “I genuinely believe that so many things along the path were so divine in their timing and just bringing me exactly to where I belong. And so, now even when things are getting a little rocky, I know that it's either a part of preparing me for the next level or it's maybe even just testing me like how bad do you really want to do this? (8:48-9:08)• “And I think the part that really hurt me the most was that: did I really hate myself so much that I would do something like this and then eventually ruin my body?” (14:08-14:19)• “So, I think it was like viewing food differently, viewing my body for what it could do rather than solely what it looked like, which is what I had done forever. And realizing like, hey, these legs are strong. And what they look like does not matter.” (14:58-15:14)• “Well, okay, just change your thoughts. Sure. If I could have done that 10 years ago, I would have. I would have, but we have these deep rooted beliefs that are driving everything. And when we can shift that belief, that's when everything changes, and the behavior will resolve itself.” (17:32-17:48)• “Yeah, your higher self is you. It's you at your core. It's you without all of the conditioning and B.S. and stuff that society has put on you. We're always trying to strive for this better version. Like, I have to do this and that, and this, and drink 100 ounces of water and do all this stuff, and I'll be my best self. And no, it's remembering who you are, at your core, your true self. And that is the highest possible version of you.” (21:05-21:32)• “There are things that come up through our whole life and childhood that are stuck with us. And we don't even know they're there. Because our brain is telling us, no, they're good, don't worry about that. It's over, move on. And so, I like to bring my clients back to the scene in a crime essentially, and we get to move in and love that part of them. And that is what starts to do the unraveling.” (22:09-22:32)Learn more about the Break Free from Binge Eating podcast:https://victoriakleinsman.com/https://podcasts.apple.com/fr/podcast/break-free-from-binge-eating-with-victoria-kleinsman/id1464324636Connect with Chrystal:http://chrystalrose.com/https://www.selflovebreakfastclub.com/https://www.instagram.com/xtalrose/https://www.instagram.com/selflovebreakGet Embodied with me & our community this month and BREATHE every day!
