Monday morning live with Natasa Denman featuring one of her amazing authors, Libby Andrew. Libby is a third-time published author, with all her books published through the Ultimate 48 Hour Author. Her latest work, Wallaroo 19, offers a deeply personal reflection on a pivotal ten-year period of her life when she played elite sports for Australia. Set against the backdrop of the early 1990s, the book delves into the development of women's rugby league and rugby union in Australia, offering a unique perspective on a time when these sports were traditionally male-dominated. While Wallaroo 19 is not an autobiography or an official history, it is filled with humor, candid stories, and raw emotion—capturing Libby's experiences both on and off the field. Through her personal accounts, readers get a glimpse of the blood, sweat, and tears she poured into playing a sport that was still finding its place for women. This book celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Wallaroos' first-ever test match in Australia, making it a tribute to the resilience and strength of women athletes who helped pave the way for future generations. 3 Key Takeaways: 1. Women rock and can do anything 2. We need to continue to promote women's sport to balance the inequalities between men's and women's sport 3. This week, we explore a delightful mix of lifestyle events, from vineyards to fiber for sensitive stomachs, and even tried out some invigorating workouts. 1. Vineyard Revelations: Our adventure began with an amazing lunch at Union Square Cafe in New York City, where we learned about the vineyards and wines from Loudon County, Virginia. Did you know that there are nearly 50 wineries located just a short distance from Washington, D.C.? The region is a growing hotspot for wine enthusiasts, and we savored every sip. 2. Gut Health and Fiber Boost: Next, we headed to Clean Market for an afternoon of wellness. There, I experienced a gut health IV trip and discovered Hilma's new product: “Daily Fiber and Digestive Enzymes.” Shockingly, nearly 95% of Americans don't get enough fiber daily! Hilma's plant-based prebiotic fiber powder aims to change that, providing six grams of gentle fiber to support digestion without the discomfort. Plus, it's sugar-free and tastes great in smoothies. 3. Skincare Serenity: No week is complete without skincare updates! MZ Skin's “Skin Calming Range” caught my attention. Designed for sensitive and redness-prone skin, this collection includes the soothing “Calming Rescue Serum.” With ingredients like pro-vitamin D3, red sage root, and hydrating prebiotic extract, it's a must-try for maintaining radiant skin. 4. Workouts Galore: Let's get physical! I dived into three diverse workouts: Level Up with Layla: Circuit training with TRX, battle ropes, resistance bands, and weights. Layla emphasizes agility and mobility alongside muscle building. Jazzercise: A dance-infused workout that feels like a party! It's a global sensation, and I had a blast trying out the cardio sculpt class. P Volve: Low-impact exercises to sculpt and tone. Jennifer Aniston approves, and the ever-changing routines keep me on my toes. 5. Pre-Trip Beauty Essentials: As I prepare for my Mediterranean adventure, I've got beauty appointments lined up: Nails: A pedicure for pampered feet and press-on manicures for chic hands. Hair Care: Freshly touched-up color and roots ensure confidence throughout the trip. Facial Hydration: A pre-trip facial keeps my skin glowing and ready for any climate. Remember, sun protection matters! Wallaroo's wide-brim hats, celebrating 25 years of sun safety, shield our skin from harmful UV rays. Incorporate sun protection into your daily routine—grab that hat by the door! Stay tuned for insightful conversations and expert advice to elevate your skincare routine, fashion game, and travel experiences! MLOps Coffee Sessions #149 with Jason McCampbell, The Challenges of Deploying (many!) ML Models, co-hosted by Abi Aryan and sponsored by Wallaroo. // Abstract In order to scale the number of models a team can manage, we need to automate the most common 90% of deployments to allow ops folks to focus on the challenging 10% and automate the monitoring of running models to reduce the per-model effort for data scientists. The challenging 10% of deployments will often be "edge" cases, whether CDN-style cloud-edge, local servers, or running on connected devices. // Bio Jason McCampbell is the Director of Architecture at Wallaroo.ai and has over 20 years of experience designing and building high-performance and distributed systems. Primary Industries, Forest Industries and Regional Development minister Clare Scriven joins FlowFM from Wallaroo, Yorke Peninsula where the third Community Cabinet meeting in regional SA in less than a year is occurring to talk about a new regional housing initiative. With regional labour in short supply, South East SA based Minister Scriven describes how the housing initiative is targeted at first at essential workers like health, police and other emergency services staff but a new Office for Regional Housing will be established within Renewal SA to work with the local government sector on bringing more land to market for housing. We also discuss the resumption of community cabinets in the regions that ceased under the Marshall Liberal government and the value of ministers and departmental heads hearing first-hand from locals and their representatives on the issues that matter to them. Those wanting to reach out from regional SA to engage with the new office for regional housing within Renewal SA can do so at http://officeregionalhousing.sa.gov.au
The Regional Australia Institute this week highlighted the Yorke and Clare Valley combined region as a job vacancy hotspot rising 33 per cent on the latest monthly data and as the Malinauskas Labor Government's cabinet visits Wallaroo to listen to the local community, we spoke with the local MP Fraser Ellis about local labour and housing demands and a disturbing incident this week at the Wallaroo hospital
At just 27 years old, representative Australian rugby union player Sera Naiqama's star is well and truly on the rise. But don't let her age fool you. We can learn so much from Sera's effervescent outlook on life, her incredible work ethic, and her insatiable thirst for self-improvement Like most success stories, it hasn't all been plain sailing. Growing up in comparative hardship in Sydney's southern suburbs, and with parents whose marriage ended when she was very young, Sera is the first to admit that “society would say my life was meant to look a certain way.” Likewise her winding path to international rugby stardom, and more recently as a Stan Sport commentator and sought-after MC, has not been without its hurdles and, inevitably, huge emotional setbacks. But at every turn, and with the support of a close network of friends and mentors, Sera has chosen bravery. “You never know what's siting on the other side of your fear,” she says, adding that “with a bit of faith, hope, and hard work, or whatever word works for you, nothing is ever wasted.” As promised during our interview with Sera: The 7 P's: Proper Preparation and Practice Prevents Piss Poor Performance!Link to Season 4, Episode 4: Jimmy Galvin interview. You want low CPMs (like the early days of Facebook)? You want massive engagement from eager shoppers? Are you looking for a little virality to go with that? Then you need to consider TikTok and SnapChat ads. I've had more clients and other agency friends ask about TikTok and Snap ads in the last few weeks than I can ever remember before. Both platforms are still in their infancy from an ads standpoint (with SnapChat being more established than TikTok). Both still offer tremendous opportunities for first adopters who are willing to learn the platforms. Today I'm bringing on two experts, Madison Grover VP of Social from Pouch, and Anders Piiparinen CEO from Wallaroo Media. They're giving us a crash course on what we need to know about TikTok and Snap ads. Why you should build TikToks and NOT ads How creating consistently great content on TikTok can have a compounding or “resurfacing” affect How to repurpose TikTok content on other platforms Why you can't repurpose YouTube or IG content on TikTok Understanding key TikTok metrics The basics of a solid Snap ad How to drive conversions from TikTok and Snap

Well, that's it for the grand old dystopian wonderland of 2020. Bring on the New Year! This week, the Word Docs are reflecting on the year that's been: deadlines missed and goals hit, unexpected delights and inevitable tipsiness, real estate bought, sold and fantasised about, and the fact that Amy never delivered on the promised scones. We're making plans for 2021 and even 2022: New bathrooms! Secret disco rooms! Starting our own magic writing school, where Alex will be potions master! Those bloody scones. And we introduce a new segment: Is this illegal? Amy takes the role of Alex's parent; Alex sings, undaunted; Sean promises to DJ for New Year's. Pour yourself a rum and Milo (don't ask) or a cheeky Moscato and settle in for some festive cheer from the three wise elves (is that a thing?). See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today on the show I am joined by a fellow Australian Army veteran Mollie Grey. When I created the Go All In podcast one of the things that I wanted to do was to tell more Australian veteran stories. There plenty of podcasts out there that do that but not many with an Aussie flavour so its an incredible pleasure to be speaking with Mollie today.Mollie is an 11-year veteran of the Australian Army who served 1 tour in Afghanistan but there is so much more to Mollie than just a military story. As you will see Mollie is not only a soldier she is a true fighter and embodies absolutely everything it means to Go All In.From War to professional sport and the transition to life after the military there are some serious life lessons here for everyone.https://www.instagram.com/xmolliexgray/?hl=enhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mollie-gray-79865199/?originalSubdomain=auhttps://twitter.com/mollie_gray89?lang=en

Inspired by the South Australian copper-mining town, Wallaroo is an atmospheric and mysterious painting. Located on the Spencer Gulf coast, Jeffrey Smart visited Wallaroo in 1951 and made a number of watercolour studies of the town’s buildings, beach, mining sites and breakwater. Returning to his studio, Smart ‘began mixing all the sketches together, trying them this way and that, seeing how they could agree in a large composition–a painting in oils’.1 In Wallaroo two young men carry a boat ashore, one figure stepping out of the water and swinging his arm out to balance himself. The entire composition is an exercise in balance–the stretch of sand meeting the curve of the breakwater, the height of the chimney balancing the weight of the figures. Each element is carefully placed to direct the eye around the painting. There is an eerie stillness to the image, created by the long shadows and abandoned environment. The rusty ochres and greys of the earth and sky contrast with the bright strip of sand and the building. In discussing the painting Smart said: I tried all sorts of skies, ones with huge clouds, those with strata clouds, a stormy sky and so on. Finally I settled for one which graduated, light at the horizon and becoming darker near the top. But then it looked too dull. It wasn’t interesting enough. So a moon–which you often see at evening, was brought in, just to make a note against the plain surface.2 1 Jeffrey Smart, ‘An edited version from the artist’s explanation of how he painted Wallaroo. ABC Children’s Hour 1956’, published in Edmund Capon, Jeffrey Smart, Sydney: Art Gallery of New South Wales, 1999, p. 78. 2 Capon, p. 79.
