In this episode of The Music in Me, I dive deep into the incredible world of Prince — an artist who didn't just make music, but created an entire universe of sound, style, and emotion. From his early days as a young prodigy in Minneapolis to his rise as one of the most iconic performers of all time, Prince was never afraid to be different. He taught us that standing out is something to celebrate, not hide. I'll talk about how songs like “Let's Go Crazy,” “When Doves Cry,” and “Purple Rain” shaped not just the music world, but pop culture itself. I'll share what these songs mean to me personally — how their energy, passion, and message of individuality have always inspired me to be myself, no matter what. Prince wasn't just a singer or a musician; he was a movement. He broke barriers, redefined genres, and left behind a legacy that still shines as bright as ever. So, join me as I celebrate the life, the music, and the magic of a true original — the one and only Prince.ALBUMS MENTIONED...For YouDirty MindControversy1999Purple RainSign o' the TimesDiamonds and PearlsMusicologySONGS MENTIONED..."Purple Rain""When Doves Cry""Let's Go Crazy"What did you think of this episode? #181 - Christian Ray Flores' life reads like an epic novel - a childhood marked by upheaval across continents, an improbable rise to pop stardom in Russia, and a profound transformation into a purposeful coach helping others discover their untapped potential.Growing up amid political chaos, Christian experienced firsthand what most of us only read about in history books. By age seven, he had lived through a military coup in Chile that landed his father in a concentration camp, experienced refugee life under UN protection, and witnessed civil war in Mozambique. The constant relocations forced him to absorb four languages by age nine, unwittingly preparing him for a life bridging different worlds and perspectives. When the Soviet Union collapsed around him just as he completed his economics degree, Christian made the unconventional choice to pursue music instead of academia. His gamble paid off spectacularly. Within years, he was performing in sports arenas across 15 countries, selling millions of albums, and even creating the campaign anthem for Boris Yeltsin's pivotal election against communist forces. Yet at the pinnacle of success, he found himself clinically depressed - a paradox that would later inform his coaching philosophy. The turning point came through spiritual transformation and marriage to an American woman who saw past his celebrity to the person beneath. After transitioning to life in America, Christian discovered his calling as a coach for high-achievers who, like his former self, might appear successful on paper while feeling incomplete or imbalanced within. His unique approach helps clients recognize when they're "fighting with one hand tied behind their back" - achieving impressive results while leaving their most powerful gifts dormant. Through his Exponential Life coaching program, he helps entrepreneurs, executives, and creatives untie that second hand and experience breakthrough performance aligned with their deepest purpose. What makes Christian's perspective so valuable is that he's lived at both extremes - from refugee facilities to celebrity mansions, from communist oppression to American opportunity. This journey fueled his book "Little Book of Big Reasons to Love America," which offers a refreshing immigrant perspective on American possibility in an age of cynicism.Want to discover what might be dormant in your own life? Connect with Christian's coaching programs and begin your own journey toward exponential growth and authentic purpose. To learn more about Christian's coaching programs and his book check out his website xponential.life. Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. The past few days have seen Post Malone at the center of significant headlines and public moments, firmly securing his status as one of pop culture's most dynamic and prolific cross-genre performers. The standout headline is his electrifying show on September 12 in Barcelona's Olympic Stadium as part of The Big Ass World Tour, where he captivated thousands of fans with a set that showcased both his new country-infused tracks and his hip hop mainstays. According to Catalan News, though the venue wasn't completely full, the energy from fans and a setlist ranging from fresh album tracks like Wrong Ones and Losers to chart-toppers like Sunflower and Congratulations ensured the night was undeniably memorable. Intriguingly, his concert was so major that FC Barcelona had to move an upcoming match out of the iconic stadium because the pitch could not be prepared in time—a strong testament to his event's magnitude.More recently, Post made waves with a surprise on-stage collaboration with Chris Stapleton in Paris, delivering a fan-favorite performance of California Sober reported by CountryLine TV. Social media buzzed with praise for his showmanship and the expanded reach of his genre-spanning music, though most viral content has focused on concert moments or star sightings, with verified posts steering clear of controversy.Just days prior, headlines turned to a mishap when Post Malone took a tumble offstage in Arizona during a rendition of Pour Me a Drink, a moment captured and widely shared on TikTok and other social channels. Entertainment Weekly notes that while the moment evoked concern, he completed the show unfazed, drawing inevitable flashbacks to his 2022 tour mishap. Fortunately, unlike the earlier incident where he suffered bruised ribs, there's been no report of serious injury this time—his resilience and devotion to fans unmistakable. On the business front, industry insiders at LaBarge Weinstein report that Post Malone has invested in Sesh, a high-growth, tobacco-free nicotine pouch company that recently raised $40 million in venture financing. Teaming with Diplo and major investment firm 8VC signals that Malone is extending his entrepreneurial influence into wellness-oriented consumer goods, a move that could have lasting impact beyond music.Looking ahead, anticipation is already building for his appearance and a major collaboration nomination at the upcoming MTV VMAs, as AOL reports, marking his first VMA return since 2018—making every public stride particularly weighty for fans and industry watchers alike.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Justin Timberlake BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Timberlake has been at the center of major headlines this week, largely due to a dramatic personal revelation and the conclusion of a challenging chapter in his career. Wrapping up his two-year Forget Tomorrow World Tour with a final show in Istanbul, Timberlake took to Instagram to reveal that he has been quietly battling Lyme disease throughout the tour, describing the illness as relentlessly debilitating and explaining how it was responsible for the nerve pain, fatigue, and lackluster performances that fans and critics have noted in recent weeks. This was his most open admission yet about his health—he said that while he was raised to keep struggles private, he felt compelled to share in order to shed light on his behind-the-scenes battle and to create a sense of connection with both fans and others experiencing the disease. ABC News reports that his social media post has drawn hundreds of thousands of likes and brought widespread attention to Lyme disease, with many in the media and Lyme community applauding his newfound transparency. His announcement comes after significant backlash from fans, particularly following a viral performance at a Romanian festival where Timberlake was accused of phoning it in. The National and the LA Times both recount how video clips circulated on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, showing low-energy stage presence and little crowd engagement. Fans voiced an increasing sense of disappointment, with some demanding refunds and describing the shows as emotionally detached, especially compared to the vibrant concert experiences that are now the standard for major touring artists.Compounding this, Timberlake's recent personal history has also resurfaced: he had already postponed several shows last year due to health issues including bronchitis and laryngitis, and earlier this year he pled guilty to a lesser charge following a DWI arrest in the Hamptons, earning him a suspended license and community service. Despite these setbacks, Timberlake pushed through and completed the tour—a decision that he says was guided by the joy of performing and the desire to connect with fans, even as he now admits to being unsure what the future holds for his stage career. On the business front, the Economic Times pegs Timberlake's net worth at around $250 million, fueled by his diverse ventures including his William Rast clothing line, tequila brand Sauza 901, and various investments in sports and real estate. Social media continues buzzing over his health disclosure, with fans and public figures offering support as Timberlake hints at a new chapter of increased openness and possibly advocacy. The last few days have clearly marked a significant, if tumultuous, moment of transition for one of pop's most resilient figures.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta
Justin Bieber BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Bieber is making bigger headlines than ever as he settles firmly into family life and stages a career resurgence that has the music world buzzing. The most talked-about development this week is Bieber's heartwarming Instagram posts sharing glimpses of life with his 11-month-old son Jack Blues Bieber. Ahead of Jack's first birthday, Justin gave fans two new photos this past Sunday—always careful not to show Jack's face, keeping the promise he and wife Hailey Bieber made to protect their son's privacy. In an email interview with Elle, Justin described fatherhood as walking in the days he always dreamed of. Hailey, meanwhile, opened up to Vogue about the emotional challenges of unexpected motherhood and described Jack as her life's greatest teacher.Professionally, Justin's comeback keeps gathering steam following his surprise July 11 release of Swag, his seventh studio album and first in four years. Critics have widely praised the album's more soulful sound and explorations of love and family, a notable shift from his early pop catalog. Swag debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, racking up 163,000 equivalent album units its opening week, and its lead single Daisies became his 27th US top ten single, tying him with Janet Jackson on the all-time list. Swag has been streamed more than 198 million times and the buzz is carrying over to new business activity—his recent business insights and predictions for 2025 are trending on TikTok, while Diplo praised the Swag project's cutting-edge production on Billboard's Instagram news reel.Public appearances lately saw Justin keeping things low-key and family-focused, including a private album launch party in Los Angeles last week with close friends. Paparazzi trailed him and Hailey arriving at the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills, noting his ultra-relaxed, signature streetwear look and his tendency to keep a distance from photographers—a likely lingering effect of his past run-ins with the press. On social media, he's been consistently active, mostly sharing intimate moments at home rather than promotional content.Business-wise, The Street recaps his diverse investments: after selling his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis for over 200 million dollars and stepping away from the Drew House streetwear brand, Bieber has been investing in tech and cryptocurrency ventures. Major headlines this week? Justin Bieber shares new family photos, keeps Swag album at the top of streaming charts, and continues to carefully balance fame with fiercely guarded privacy as both father and pop icon. No evidence of scandals, breakups, or major controversy—just a reinvigorated superstar playing out his next act on his own terms. Speculation about new tours or collaborations remains unconfirmed, but the buzz is that the next chapter could be his most significant yet.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta
Justin Timberlake BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Justin Timberlake has dominated recent headlines for all the wrong reasons as fan backlash erupted across social media following several noticeably low-energy performances on the European festival circuit. According to Cosmopolitan and Parade, Timberlake's much-anticipated appearance at the Electric Castle Festival in Romania on July 17 turned sour when he arrived nearly an hour late, bundled under a parka in the rain, and proceeded to let backing tracks and the audience carry most of his set. Viral TikTok videos show Justin repeatedly pointing his mic at the crowd during hits like CAN'T STOP THE FEELING and Cry Me a River, giving more hype man than headliner, sparking a wave of disappointment and memes suggesting fans got karaoke night instead of a pop superstar. The complaints echoed on Timberlake's own Instagram, where concertgoers described the performance as soulless and even disrespectful to fans who waited hours in the rain. These issues weren't limited to Romania. At Lollapalooza Paris on July 20, footage again showed Timberlake sharing sparse vocals and minimal engagement with songs that once defined millennial pop. Hot97 and Consequence noted similar scenes at prior stops in Dublin and London, crucifying him for visibly frustrated moments and what many described as a low-effort end to his Everything I Thought I Was tour. Despite the swirl of negative press, Timberlake hasn't directly addressed the criticism, instead focusing on wrapping up his final shows in Baku, Azerbaijan on July 27 and Istanbul, Turkey on July 30.Away from the stage, Timberlake's business activity provided a rare spot of positive news. CNBC's World's Top Fintech Companies 2025 featured Step, a Gen Z-focused banking startup Timberlake backs alongside names like Steph Curry and Will Smith. Step's selection signals Timberlake's ongoing clout as an investor with an eye for youth culture and modern money trends.Meanwhile, reminders of his June 2024 DWI charge resurfaced, as Fox News highlighted how his world tour almost derailed after that arrest. Following a guilty plea and community service, Timberlake made a public apology and urged fans not to drive drunk, a blemish that still lingers in the public memory. There have been no new acting projects or red-carpet appearances reported in the last few days, and Timberlake's social media is awash with both supportive fans and vocal critics dissecting every moment of his current festival appearances. As Timberlake nears the end of this tour, the question looming over his legacy is whether these struggles mark a mere bump in the road, or a more profound turning point for the former boy band dynamo and pop icon.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

Critic Perrine Quennesson takes us through the latest releases in the world of French cinema, with two family stories that transport us to convincing versions of France in the 1960s and 1990s. “My Mother, God, And Sylvie Vartan” tells the story of a devoted mother, played by Leïla Bekhti, who is prepared to move mountains for her son. Meanwhile “Queen Mom” charts an immigrant family's experience as they come up against stereotypes about North Africans and attempt to overcome the obstacles planted in their path; the film also offers a comical and fantastical take on one of the bogeymen of French history classes. A volcano on the brink of eruption in Guadeloupe distils social and political tensions in “Magma” and we discuss Thierry Frémaux's love letter to the Lumière brothers, as he documents the birth of cinema and its modern conventions.

This episode again celebrates the World Premiere of my new EP called “The Singles Project”, featuring five new songs. The recording has received wonderful reviews, being called “Amazing!” (Top Buzz Magazine), “Magical…a sonic tour de force!” (IndiePulse Music), “Fabulously enticing!” (Pop Icon Magazine), and a “Home run!” (Hollywood Digest). This episode introduces two more songs, “The Ship” and "New Wind". “The Ship” is a song that's unlike anything else I've ever written. On the surface it's a tale out of the 1800s about a sailing ship that's in trouble. But it's also a metaphor for the troubled times that we live in now. Hollywood Digest calls it “A firestorm of grooves and a thunderbolt of tonality!” "New Wind" is about the springtime renewal of life. But it too is also a metaphor about casting out the bad things in one's life and welcoming new good things. Pop Icon calls it "Entrancing!"There's one more song on the EP called “She Always Draws A Crowd”. It's my commentary on how sometimes we hide our true selves behind our social image. Pop Icon calls it "Haunting!" I'll let you discover that one on your own. “The Ship”. Spotify link. YouTube link.“New Wind”. Spotify link. YouTube link.“She Always Draws A Crowd”. Spotify link. Guest Bio Taylor Dayne is an American pop icon with a career spanning 3 decades. Taylor's groundbreaking debut single “Tell It To My Heart” turned her into an overnight star in 1987. She followed the smash hit with seventeen Top 20 singles over the course of her career. Taylor has sold over 75 million albums and singles worldwide, earned three Grammy nominations, an American Music Award, multiple New York Music Awards, received New York Music Hall of Fame honors, and ranked as the Number 18 Female Dance artist of all time by “Rolling Stone” magazine. She is one of the very few artists in musical history to successfully cross over into almost every musical genre and chart with hit singles in Pop, Dance, R&B, Adult Contemporary, and Rock. Taylor has appeared in film, TV and stage, from Broadway favorites like Elton John's award-winning production of “Aida,” and Mel Brooks' “Archie” and “Mehitable,” to working with legendary composer Jule Styne to reprise the role of Fanny Brice on Broadway. Taylor also appeared in movies including “Love Affair” with Warren Beatty and Annette Benning and co-starred in Denis Leary's TV drama “Rescue Me.” She also starred in the HBO film “STAG” and co-starred on Showtime's original series “Rude Awakening.” Her growth as an artist was enhanced by the birth of her twins in early 2002. Her voice became stronger and more meaningful as she took on single motherhood, empowerment, surrogacy, and parenthood head-on, becoming a voice and an advocate for working woman, same sex marriage, parenting and fertility. Her 2016 TEDWomen talk opened her career to more speaking engagements, inspirational and monumental moments, and paved the way to her memoir. This past summer she released a new single called “Please” and is working on anticipated new music. In addition, in September 2020, she competed in the Fox hit show “The Masked Singer” for the 4th season. She competed as PopCorn and made it to the semifinals.
