The From the Grave Podcast has had a profound impact on my life and recovery journey. From the first episode I listened to, it became clear that this crew truly understands the struggles and triumphs of overcoming addiction and navigating life after. Their authenticity and relatability are what make this podcast stand out from others in the recovery community. It's not just about sharing stories of hardship, but also about providing practical advice and solutions for those looking to improve their own lives.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the range of guests that Scott brings on. While many shows focus solely on individuals in recovery, The From the Grave Podcast goes a step further by featuring family men and women who are also navigating relationships and parenthood while staying clean. This adds another layer of relatability for listeners who may be in similar situations, offering insights and inspiration for finding balance in all aspects of life.
Furthermore, Scott's authenticity shines through in every episode. He isn't afraid to share his own struggles, flaws, and moments of vulnerability. This honesty creates a safe space for listeners to explore their own emotions and experiences without judgment. Additionally, Scott's humor adds a lightness to conversations that can often be heavy, making it easier to digest difficult topics.
While there are many positive aspects to The From the Grave Podcast, one potential downside is that it may not appeal to everyone outside the recovery community. Some episodes may feel too focused on personal experiences with addiction or spirituality for those who aren't familiar with or interested in these topics. However, even for someone who isn't directly part of the recovery community, there is value in listening to these conversations as they offer insight into the human experience and provide tools for personal growth.
In conclusion, The From the Grave Podcast is a must-listen for anyone seeking inspiration and guidance on their own journey through life and recovery. Scott's authentic approach and diverse range of guests create a space where listeners feel understood, supported, and motivated to make positive changes. Whether you're looking for practical advice, relatable stories, or just a good laugh, this podcast has it all. Give it a listen and see how it can alter your perception on life and recovery.
Living life bent on satisfying our self-importance vs living life concerned with how I can give. They hold the flashlight over your shoulder. The Ego's number 1 job. Collapse. Get you alone. Bury you. No one did it to you but you. Euphoria is the number one goal. It fixed everything. Trying to snuff out the overly sensitive version and the result. The world didn't sign off on the sensitive. Ending up alone with no one to show off to. Letting the true you emerge and have room to play. The war is over. New relationships. Stepping back into the family holidays as a new person. Am I expecting the family to be different because I am trying to live a spiritual way off life? What am I bringing to the holidays? Absolute vulnerability. The practicality of God. Love Actually. Should they be any different than the way they have always been? If I expect them to be different this holiday then who is the asshole? A Mother's love.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC93nT0ACHVfQGW5-BaLNZMQ https://www.instagram.com/fromthegravepodcast/https://fromthegraveco.com

In this episode we respond to a question sent in from a viewer via TikTok: "What do you do to get emotional and mental relief when going through a trauma when alcohol and drugs are no longer an option?" @ForsuresamLoving on past versions of ourselves. Trying to get relief is the issue. Feel the feelings and pay no attention to the thoughts surrounding them. Addiction is all trauma. Radical relief in an instant. Internal race to find escape. Not being comfortable in your own skin. The problem is that we run from emotional discomfort. Relief comes from facing the things I want to run from. the Ego will always want some type of relief that doesn't include it being faced. Pacification relief or true relief. The forever chase. Process oriented growth. Forever bondage. Needing others to meet your needs. Growing up without a father. No faith and no foundation. The internal mechanisms that drive us. Looking for a painting. "... Take it how you want, I am a proud son of a bitch. I am so fucking proud to be who I am today. And I never, ever, thought I'd be able to say that..."- Scott [19:36]After all, it's just a game. That's what we say, right? We can look at life like a play. The ole DRAMA of life. Are we able to have fun playing our roles? Or are we trying to be Shakespeare? Perspective can be a companion for our walk through life; if we hold the right one. We often attribute God to moments of joy and harmony. However, when we look backwards we see that He is expressed to the degree in pain. Feelings are the thing we have the most of and try the most to avoid. God is in the painful feelings just the same. Are we willing to dive into anger the same way we are keen on basking in joy?In this week's From the Grave Podcast, Scott discusses the perspective of life as a game to play, a Romeo or Juliet to play for the great Shakespeare. Scott dives into the elements that can cause him to take the play too seriously and destroy joy. In this drama of life there are a lot of actors and actresses, a lot of props and rewriting the script. All of this can stir up feelings that are painful. The response to run from pain thus causes more pain. Scott discusses the importance of being "willing to be hurt" and "sitting in your body with your feelings". He sites personal experience with anger and how this bent him towards his inner child. These considerations, when they become a part of your life; it will lead to the deep conviction that we are damn proud the be the person we are.- [4:20] After all it's just a game. Scott explains the joyful perspective of seeing life as a play- [7:42] Letting go. Wont it be interesting to see how this will turn out? - [9:00] Joy and pain. God is evoked in both. shoves from the Universe is pure love. The props get taken away, the scenes change and your lines change! Pain and confusion are part of the deal.- [12:50] What am I holding onto? Without pain, letting go is just a theory. You want Gold? Then it's going in the furnace. When we let go of resistance we can dance.- [16:50] Responding to anger. Anger can be ignited by the play. But, the chaos is within. Our response to anger is the window into us.- [19:00] Taking the hurt and loving on your inner child. Proud. That is the man I want to be. Proud. Pain can be the launching pad into a new life. Conviction in God.- [22:30] In the worst moment I knew that I was okay. Sit in the body and not resist your feelings. Make the decision, "I am willing to be hurt".- [29:50] Pain and joy exist in the same place in the heart.- [33:34] Monsters aren't real.- [37:50] Wherever our greatest pain is, that is where our greatest growth will be.Check out todays sponsor, Matt Cardone Meditation, to learn simple, life altering meditation techniques.https://mattcardonemeditation.com/ For FTG apparel check out:https://fromthegraveco.com/

Logan began his ministry experience in 2010 at Spanish River Church as a volunteer in the student ministry. That role eventually expanded and he was the Student Ministry Pastor for about four years. Likewise, he started CrossFit in 2012 and as his desire to help others continued to grow, he began coaching in 2018 at CrossFit Dimensions. In 2018, the Lord began to stir in his heart a desire to blend his passions of fitness and ministry to bring the Gospel to the fitness community. Eventually, this led Logan to plant Eleventh Element Ministries with the vision that the Gospel would be planted inside fitness communities all throughout the country.
Cam Cooney - born and raised Aussie - is a Vedic Meditation teacher out of Glasgow, Scotland. Cam is a sheet rocker, drinker and all about football. That is until he falls off a roof and breaks his back at 19yrs old. Can't work. Can't play football. Riddled with anxiety. A call to adventure via pain. Cam leans into the pain and finds out what it means to level up. He lives for that shit. Yeah, he teaches meditation; still cusses like a true Aussie though. Oh, and fuck herbal tea. Cam is the embodiment of embracing who the fuck you are regardless of spiritual practice. He aims to reach a different crowd through his story and teaching meditation. The roughnecks.
