For those who know of Ember's birth story, it was extremely difficult for us and on her. Luckily, she made it through that part and is doing beautifully now. The birth process of our son Elijah had a lot of uncertainty as well which we will unpack when Lauren is back on the show in the next week or two. We went into his birth process with a different belief structure which is what I want to talk about in today's episode. Whether you agree with us or not, we are here to have an open and transparent discussion because right now, this is the world we are creating for our children and subsequent generations. It's an incredibly important time in our history and we believe leading with curiosity and honesty will unify us going forward. It wasn't until we became crystal clear on our core values that things started to shift. Whether or not you are building a business together or have a family, you are co-creating the relationship with each other and that is typically overlooked work that shouldn't be. The second edition of our Coaching Corner series addresses an issue we've seen a lot inside our WTHN cohorts and something we've had to navigate as well. What do you do when life feels "good enough" but doesn't feel great? This "meh" feeling when it comes to your life will eventually show to those around you and how you perform. Many reasons can contribute to this but one worth highlighting is reaching a certain point whether that is income, status, or a level of stability, still wanting more, and having guilt and shame creep in and having thoughts like "I should be grateful" or "others have it a lot worse". We'll navigate these concepts through sharing our own lives along with 2 specific individuals we are currently coaching inside of WTHN to give you real life examples of individuals just like you. Stepping away from something that you deemed no longer serves you is an incredible feat of courage and can ultimately leave a void for us to navigate. What do I do with the void? Will I slip back into old patterns because it's familiar? Do I sit in the discomfort of the void? We were asked this beautiful question from our community and this is something we see incredibly often with our students in WTHN when they get clear on their MVP and their core values.  First, we check in on mama and talk about how baby is doing and differences so far between pregnancies. Then, we dive into this question and discuss the fundamental question, "Who do I need to become?" This will answer most if not all questions going forward and you'll want to listen in to find out why.   ---------------------   Rate, Review, and Follow on Apple Podcasts   “I love these conversations!” If that sounds like you, please consider rating and reviewing the show. There's a reason why only 8% of the population commits fully and is successful in this route because it is very difficult and not for everyone. For those who want to avoid or course correct on the big mistakes that many first time or seasoned solopreneurs or entrepreneurs fall into, this episode is for you. We discuss the top 3 mistakes we've either done ourselves in the past or that we see with our students. One of if not the biggest hurdle we help our clients in WTHN overcome is the feeling of being stuck and subsequently how to gain momentum in their lives. We've given a lot of thought on how to best share our coaching process with you on this platform and give you real world situations with individuals just like you so we decided on a once a month Coaches' Corner style of episode. In this first edition, we explore getting unstuck and gaining momentum. You've heard us talk about momentum before on this podcast but what does it look like in real life? We take one of our past coaching clients (let's call this individual "C") and share how she felt stuck in her life in a relationship that had opposing values and goals, the difficult conversations she had, and what ultimately led to her explosion in momentum not only professionally but personally and how she showed up in the world. We also want to give you the opportunity to be apart of this dialogue. What is your definition of power? Definition of success? Have you explored your own definitions outside of what society says? I (Lauren) had said a few weeks ago that I have no desire to be a boss bitch but that statement needed some clarification and some extended dialogue that we'll cover in today's episode. In our relationship dynamic, Joseph is the one that is seen as strong, confident, masculine, making big business deals, leading the charge of a large company. He makes the power moves, I make the pancake animals. He writes business plans, I write poetry. I'm overlooked until members of our community become students and witness the depth of my education, knowledge, and skillset in business and psychology. I believe that society, social media, and hustle culture conflates boss bitch with results; but the first isn't the only pathway to success. What keeps people stuck? A question that came up in bed between us recently as we were thinking about how we can help our students in our coaching program WTHN.  Feeling stuck in life, your career, your relationships, or any other part of your life can feel hopeless and disheartening and not knowing WHY only adds to the frustration and negative self-talk. The reason we stay stuck is because our self-worth will always be our ceiling and the scripts running in the background will affirm our current thoughts and actions. It's when we are finally able to break through to another level we start the process of being unstuck and we're truly making progress towards the life of our dreams. Where do we start? What is a process you can use starting today? His vision is to help facilitate our society's transition from a competitive, zero-sum mindset to a collaborative, social entrepreneurial approach. Oh, and the key? The intentional and informed use of psychedelics. Today, Paul shares an overview of psychedelic substances, including his thoughts on decriminalization, best practices, safety protocols, and the wide-ranging benefits. As the founder and CEO of Third Wave, Paul is on a mission to nurture the emerging psychedelic ecosystem by providing individuals with research-based education, access to vetted providers, and membership in our global community of psychedelic pioneers. Head to Third Wave to learn more about their psychedelic guides, courses, and certified providers. As the mission and vision of Third Wave continues to expand and evolve, so will its impact.  “I don't think the vast majority of people who can benefit from these medicines necessarily need to have a mystical experience. There are a lot of people who can simply benefit from taking lower doses of psychedelics, potentially in conjunction with therapy or coaching.” – Paul Austin Key Highlights Why decriminalization is the safest way for people to gain access to psychedelics and plant medicine; Why adequate sourcing of and accessibility to microdosing supplements depends on legalization; How microdosing can benefit chronic health conditions that affect the mind and body; How microdosing differs from large doses of psychedelics, and why low doses of these substances may be the best pathway toward healing for many individuals. TW: eating disorders and sexual abuse. Today, Lauren Sheehey joins us on the CURED Collective Podcast for a special episode. During her third appearance on the show, she taps into radical honesty and vulnerability in the hopes of erasing stigma, providing hope, and calling others forward into recovery and reclamation. Lauren is a trauma-informed coach, writer, and mother. She is also the co-founder of WTHN, a transformative group coaching program that she runs with Joe. Like many experts, she developed her niche with the influence of her personal experiences. In today's episode, she opens up for the first time about what her personal history has truly entailed. Lauren speaks to her lifelong eating disorder, as well as her own version of recovery; which she aptly names, “The Uncovery.” The theme of this episode, and of her recovery, is one of unlocking her voice: when she first lost it, key moments that highlight the estrangement, and what finally helped her restore it. As a survivor of sexual abuse and sexual assault, Lauren turns a corner in her healing by speaking to the impact of those experiences today.  Lauren also shares her perspective on the triphasic nature of healing, as well as the type of treatments available for those who suffer from eating disorders and sexual trauma. The episode ends with a description of how she is attributing meaning to her experiences and finding significance in service; for which WTHN is the conduit and the container.  Tune in for a message of hope and a call for healing. For those who are seeking support and guidance, click the link below to apply to work with Lauren. “I'm not trying to understand why those things happened, I'm trying to understand how I move forward with them and how I integrate them into who I am today.” – Lauren Sheehey Key Highlights How Lauren's history of sexual trauma influenced the development of her eating disorder; How she approached healing, and the details of the three phases she calls: the uncovery; the messy middle; and the meaning making; Why it was essential for Lauren to give up her role as the good girl and uncover her authentic self; When to tap into the practice of opposite action in our healing; How to break the patterns of voicelessness and what happens when truth is free to roam in the container of a healthy relationship; How Lauren's experiences influenced her decision to create WTHN Coaching; What coaching clients can expect in the six-month program, and why this unique approach to healing promises sustained positive change.
