Vedran preporučuje knjige: Material World: A Substantial Story of Our Past and Future, Ed Conway (pijesak, sol, bakar, željezo, nafta, litij) The Perfect Weapon: War, Sabotage, and Fear in the Cyber Age, David Sanger (cyber) This Is How They Tell Me The World Ends, Nicole Perlorth (cyber) The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-First Century's Greatest Dilemma, Mustafa Suleyman (o revoluciji u kojoj smo sada) Off Menu: The Secret Science of Food and Dining, Nell McShane Wulfhart (samo Audible, jako zanimljivo za ekipu koja voli klopati) Dosta Adam Granta - Originals, Think Again (broadly, leadership) How the World Really Works: How Science Can Set Us Straight on Our Past, Present and Future, Vaclav Smil (facts, facts, facts :)) Chip War: The Quest to Dominate the World's Most Critical Technology, Chris Miller (a must za svakoga u tehnologiji) Never Finished: Unshackle Your Mind and Win the War Within, David Goggins (možda malo granična, ali jako dobra priča o pomicanju ljudskih granica, iako David Goggins ima jaaaaako puno problema kao osoba) Flying Blind: The 737 MAX Tragedy and the Fall of Boeing, Peter Robison (za napraviti Boeing 737 treba manje od 9 dana, a random fact, izvrsna knjiga o promjeni kulture i utjecaju toga; imam puno tih povezanih s avijacijom, tehnologijom etc, ali ova je nekako poslovno zanimljiva također) Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity, Peter Attia MD, Bill Gifford (najdraža mi knjiga 2023.) The Culture Map, Erin Meyer (za increasingly global way of working, the business book koju mislim da svatko treba imati, poklonio sam ih barem 30 ljudima) A General Theory of Love, Thomas Lewis, Fari Amini (divna, jedina ovdje koja ima veze sa neuroznanoscu, da ne gnjavim previse) Podcasti: Another Podcast, Ben Evans (geek, ultra mega pametan) Prof G pod, Scott Galloway (tu i tamo, uglavnom jer pratim tržista kapitala) Acquired (duboke, duboke price o raznim biznisima, fascinantno - epizode o npr. My guest is a woman after my own heart. Aga Bajer is obsessed with the opportunity to create thriving cultures by understanding what it is that people need to do their best work. Aga wears many hats as the driving force behind CultureBrained®, where she steers the ship as both founder and CEO. Beyond leading her company, Aga is an author and a captivating keynote speaker, known for sharing insights that resonate deeply with her audience. She's the voice and brain behind the CultureLab podcast, where she dives into the intricacies of organisational culture, and has built a vibrant community for culture leaders around these conversations. Her impactful contributions, books and thought leadership in her field have earned her a spot as one of LinkedIn's Top Voices of 2024, marking her as a must-follow for those interested in the world of company culture and leadership. I absolutely loved our conversation. Aga challenges some of the ‘truths' that we as a society seem to have accepted with very little rigour. She shares the insights she has uncovered through her research as well as her own experience. For Aga, her work is personal and this shines through our interview. The need for people to feel a sense of belonging is the central theme of this episode and Aga also shares with us what it takes to help foster a sense of belonging in organisations. Interview highlights: Aga shares and expands on her insights on the 3 things people need to do their best work – fun, meaning and belonging She shares her fascinating career journey from starting an ice cream factory aged 22 to later joining large consulting businesses, in a quest to understanding how to build an environment where people can thrive. Her fascination and obsession with understanding the impact of environment on people and their ability to do great work and to thrive. She introduces her consultancy CultureBrained® and it's “crazy dream”, a mission to make work synonymous with fun, meaning and belonging. Aga explains CultureBrained's approach: Codify culture Embed and activate it Evolve culture She shares that a big part of this is focused on creating a community of practitioners, a creative space for heads of people and culture, CEOs, CMOs, all finding new better ways of cultivating healthy cultures We talk about the Fireside Chats that Aga hosts for her members – a small, deep, intimate format. She confesses that, as a business owner, this can be quite terrifying to run this kind of format, when the rest of the world seems to be pulling in the other direction of big, mass, scaled. Our discussion moves to Dunbar's number – Robin Dunbar's theory that the maximum number of people we can manage to be ‘friends with' is 150 people – and how this inspired Aga in how she manages her CultureBrained community Aga shares the story of how she came to be writing her book, which originally started as an exploration of the concepts of fun, meaning and belonging, but eventually moved to single-mindedly explore the topic of belonging She shares a fascinating insight into scientific research which reveals that belonging is actually the Number 1 human need (in conflict with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs) Aga takes us on a deeper dive into the topic of belonging and why she is so personally invested in exploring and understanding it. She talks about her personal experiences as well as what she has observed in organisations and teams She explains the three things we need to generate Belonging, providing deep insight on what it takes, including being valued as well as creating value The strong link between belonging and organisational performance, which is backed up by scientific research The cost of “Unbelonging” and the benefits of Belonging Aga's ambition for the next five years towards a more regenerative society and what that could look like for business Connect with Aga and CultureBrained The Culture Lab Insider Newsletter Aga on Linkedin agabajer.com The CultureBrained community

Keď sme mladí, často to zľahčujeme.
Buduje to disciplínu človeka a vnímanie stravy. Málokedy vidíme, že keď niekto začne cvičiť pravidelne, že nezmení aj stravu," hovorí lekár a autor knihy Medicína výživy, Boris Bajer. "Ľudia by sa mali vedieť ovládať. Človek by sa mal zamyslieť, či naozaj musí zjesť plech koláču a sedem žufáň toho šalátu a zapiť to ešte niečím kalorickým," dodáva Bajer.
Work relationships can be hard. The stress of dealing with difficult people dampens our creativity and productivity, and degrades our ability to think clearly and make sound decisions. Too often we grin and bear it as if we have no choice. But you can only endure so much —there's your sanity to consider, and your career. This is why, we are thrilled to have Amy Gallo joining us, the best-selling author of Getting Along: How to Work with Anyone (Even Difficult People) the HBR Guide to Dealing with Conflict, a how-to book about handling conflict professionally and productively. Tune into this week's episode, as we delve into workplace conflicts and tensions, exploring how they can be harnessed for cultural transformation and become opportunities to connect. Bajer is a Kurdish word that simply means a city, but it has a much deeper meaning for the Kurds. As a long-oppressed minority in the Middle East, the Kurds have often been forced to abandon their small towns and villages, flee to safer ground in cities. As a result, the notion of a city has come to represent not only a physical space but also a state of mind. During her childhood in the 90s, Leyla Uysal and other Kurds in Turkey were not allowed to travel between cities due to the war conditions. It is this spirit of freedom and resilience that drove Leyla to found Bajer Watches. She wanted to create a brand that would showcase the talent and strength of Kurdish women. The watches are Swiss-made timepieces, but they are also so much more. They are a symbol of hope for a better future for the Kurdish people. Bajer is a tribute to all Kurdish women who have fought for their rights and refused to be silenced, whether that be their most recent armed struggle against the Islamic State or their centuries-old struggle for education and equality in a patriarchal society. Despite their challenges, Kurdish women are a force to be reckoned with—and Leyla wants the world to know it. Leyla is proud to carry on this legacy with her luxury line of watches. Each timepiece is crafted with the utmost precision and care, showcasing the unique beauty of Kurdish women. Bajer Watches Online | Luxury Watches Online Store USA (thebajer.com)

Agenda. FashioncastEpisode #41, May 25, 2023Leyla Uysal, Founder & CEO, BajerFashioncast listeners, you're going to love meeting the always smiling, upbeat, and positive Leyla Uysal, she's one of the most inspiring guests we've ever interviewed. Leyla's story is much more than overcoming the typical startup challenges that face every business, it's about personal courage, risk, persistence, and endurance. Born and raised in the Kurdish region of Turkey, you'll hear how Leyla, through happenstance, determination, and what seems like Devine guidance, made her way to the United States, and began her journey into the world of fashion. Leyla's story is one of fits and starts, peaks and valleys, joy, and sorrow, as she presses on in her quest for a better life. In a ten-year time span, Leyla learns English, is accepted to and graduates from MIT's Sloan School of Business and Management, finds love and marries, bears two children, launches two businesses, and is accepted into Harvard's School of Design! This is a multi-dimensional podcast as the first part covers Leyla's migration from Turkey to the U.S., and the second part covers Bajer, her luxury accessory watch business. Both are fascinating and filled with feminine and cultural anecdotes of the obstacles facing Kurdish women. For example, after working for a Turkish employer for 18 months, once Leyla's Kurdish heritage is discovered, she is immediately fired. Unfortunately, this is only one of many instances of blatant discrimination that took place in both Turkey and the United States.“Persistence pays off.” The phrase is no truer for anyone than Leyla Uysal. Her obvious intellect, mixed with pure determination, eventually attracts the right people to her cause, and Bajer is born. Again, it's an amazing adventure to hear Leyla explain how she literally circles the globe to find the right designers and manufacturer for her watches. And, since a portion of Bajer proceeds are donated to two NGOs assisting Kurdish women and children, she made an equal effort vetting key organizations in the region. We hope you come away as inspired as we were by Leyla Uysal. You can learn more, and support Leyla at the links below. Enjoy the show!https://www.thebajer.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/mehtap-leyla-turanalp-uysal
AGA BAJER, A culture strategist who works with leaders and teams around the globe to help them shape a culture that brings their vision to life. 00:36- About Aga Bajer and her journey. For the past 20 years, I've been helping companies pay attention to their culture in a way that produces desirable results. From VC-courting startups to Fortune 500, I've worked on cultivating remarkable cultures that scale and that help people do the best work of their careers – first, as part of consultancies such as HayGroup, Korn Ferry, and PwC – and later as the founder of my firm. I also lived the start-up, scale-up and corporate world myself – both as a leadership team member and as a founder.
Napísal knihu Medicína výživy, kde zhrnul najnovšie poznatky z medicíny a životosprávy.
Boris Bajer. S Borisom sme prebrali viaceré témy, ako napríklad:- aké dôkazy máme o tzv. Carnivore stravovaní;- ktoré zdroje bielkovín majú lepšiu biologickú dostupnosť;- čo jesť po pôste ako prvé;- princíp hormézy (a little bit of stress);- základné princípy stravovania pre dlhý a zdravý život. Have you ever been so drawn into a powerful, physical scene in a movie or on the stage and wondered “how did they DO that?” We are not just talking about the sex scenes, although they can be provocative for sure but poignant domestic disputes, racially charged interactions and more. All of these types of depictions of real life actions require respect, patience, understanding and compassion. And for the women participating in these roles, it has long been an expectation that they would simply perform as they are directed, without question. The #metoo movement reminded women that they are entitled to have a voice and to feel safe everywhere and in every work environment. While Intimacy Directors and Intimacy Coordinators have been in existence in some form, for some time, their roles have grown and evolved dramatically since 2018. Today we are excited to introduce you to one of Canada's 5 existing Intimacy Coordinators (the only one in Winnipeg) and Canada's very own, Sharon Bajer. She is very familiar with the way women in theatre, television and film are treated due to her lengthy professional career as an actress. In many companies, the approach to shaping culture can be quite superficial. Our guest, LaTonya Wilkins, suggests it's time to go "below the surface" and embrace a radically inclusive leadership style. This interview explores her signature REAL leadership system which creates psychologically safe relationships across differences, empowers underrepresented employees to feel valued, heard, and engaged - and creates cultures of belonging in the workplace. On today's show, we interview Aga Bajer, founder and CEO of a boutique consultancy, Aga Bajer & Associates who shares with us her distilled wisdom on entrepreneurship, culture, and failure. Aga's first business was a colossal failure which taught her the importance of figuring out her WHY. She learned that she needed clarity about who she was, and where she was headed first. After a brief stint with PWC, Aga found her true calling as a consultant with Hay Group (promoted by Daniel Goleman of “Emotional Intelligence”). Once she got some experience under her belt, she took the entrepreneurial route once again. And this time around, having learned her lesson well, Aga chose a field that she is extremely passionate about. Currently, she is helping start-ups create a thriving culture at scale. Aga and Darius discuss why you need clarity about where you are ahead, and how this will help you set your personal development goals. You will also learn the importance of surrounding yourself with a close “Inner Circle” whom you can lean on during challenging times. Enjoy the episode!
