Bubbles Mushrooms Podcast

Welcome back to your favorite podcast! This week's special guest is our returning number one fan, Sam (aka Samanarchy). Sam has a few personal questions to answer from the gang regarding belly buttons, Paris Hilton and Ozzy Osbourne. First, Sam has to let out a big fat fart to warm up her seat and Jenn decides to give her a 'pew pew pew' instead of a 'BUH BUH BUHHHH'. While most dentist will let you keep your teeth, Sam's surgeon wouldn't let her keep her most prized bodily possession and she instead opted to get a hole new one. Thankfully, Sam is not a poor person with no options and a shady doctor and was able to decide on her brand new part. Edward and Katie have been shaving each others beavers while watching some show about redneck hillrods and have some advice for Sam regarding her procedure. We finally get to interview Sam for her [People In the Neighborhood] segment and she tells us about how she uses her small girl brain to help morons fix their computers by driving around the country changing batteries on people's keyboards. Jenn admits to how she ended up finally killing Sinead O'Connor and Larry the Cable Guy, Sam ends up offending all of our "LISTENERS" with her nonsense and Katie has no idea how it's possible to work somewhere for 20 years. Katie just has no idea how that's possible. Our game this week is a trivia-esque contest hosted by Luke with a theme of old names for big companies. Have you ever shopped at Goodfellow's Dry Goods or surfed the web using David & Jerry's Guide to the WWW? We bet you have and probably don't even know it! Sam has bought all of her Air Jordans from Goodfellow's Dry Goods and loves Blimpie as a good option. Edward is disappointed in all of our viewers who have not kept up on all of our episodes, Jenn talks about being a sandwich artist much too late in life, Katie likes to make exceptions for our neurodivergent viewers and Henry Datsun makes another appearance as the owner of the Ford Motor Company. Stan Friedman is passionate about franchising. Past leadership positions include C-Level roles at: Blimpie International, Wing Zone, Maggie Moos and Tutor Doctor. Years of franchise development and relationship experience are what uniquely prepared Stan for his present role at FRM Solutions, providing CRM tools to help franchisors manage relationships with their prospective and existing franchisees.   Always an “outside the box” thinker, Stan has been a long-time proponent of diversity in franchising. That work began at Blimpie, when he created an Urban Expansion initiative heralded by the media and leaders of the public and private sectors and culminated in a White House visit, where he and BLIMPIE Founder Tony Conza, personally participated in the President's “Conference for Community Empowerment.” Later that year, this initiative was celebrated as Blimpie International's Innovation of the Year. In further recognition of his work in diversity, Stan proudly accepted the IFA's Ronald E. Harrison Diversity Award in 2011, an honor only bestowed six times previously, in IFA history.  More recently, Stan's work in diversity has been focused on pro-athletes and their transitions from playbooks to Ops Manuals, as co-founder of PAFI, the Pro Athlete Franchise Initiative, a program created by he and 7 year NFL veteran, Michael Stone.  Stan currently serves on the (IFA) Educational Foundation Board of Trustees and Leadership Council, is a past member of the Supplier Forum and is a founding member of IFA's Diversity Institute Board.

A Waste Of Time with ItsTheReal

This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we welcome one of the most notable and influential sneaker collectors today and over the last thirty years, Mayor, to the Upper West Side! Mayor discusses growing up in The Bronx under the no-nonsense wing of his bingo-playing, knife-weilding mother, watching big rappers roll into his childhood neighborhood to bag all the best girls, and how local kids fronting on his elementary school sneakers provided the battery in his back that led him to grow one of the most legendary shoe collections in the world. We talk early jobs at Blimpie, at a shoe store uptown, and in shaving crack down to make a profit behind the big dealers' backs. Mayor details going to high school with Fat Joe, investing in the seminal nightclub Esso, visits from Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown and Lil Kim and Puffy bringing in the highest bar night ever to that point, meeting DJ Clark Kent and wanting a stereo system just like Clark's, as well as the incredible circumstances that led the nightclub to ultimately shut down. Mayor gets into the reasons why he went to jail at 30 years old, what happened mere hours after he got released, how he moved past the street life into private business, and how publications, influencers and tastemakers made Mayor, as he claims, "fake famous." All that plus fatherhood, getting his driver's license at 23 years old, being overly honest with Mary J. Blige, his thoughts on the sneaker resale game, how exactly he got the new KAWS Jordan 4s, what animal Pusha T is deathly afraid of, and much, much more!
