Tapping Away Stress: Becky and Rachel Hall discuss the concept of 'tapping', a technique she has been practicing for over ten years to manage pain, depression, and anxiety. Trained through Brooke Snow's Creation Coach certification, Rachel shares her journey dealing with depression and celiac disease, and how tapping has helped her cope with these conditions. She explains tapping as an alternative to acupuncture, using pressure points to signal the brain's reaction towards relaxing the body and mind. Rachel and Becky discuss how it can be applied practically in managing emotions and stress. This podcast concludes with Rachel guiding Becky through an extensive tapping demonstration, offering listeners a firsthand account of its therapeutic potential. 00:00 Introduction and Guest Presentation 00:28 Rachel's Personal Journey and Life Coaching 01:48 Introduction to Tapping 03:23 Benefits and Mechanism of Tapping 04:27 Practical Application of Tapping 08:02 Tapping and Emotional Processing 11:20 Demonstration of Tapping Session 22:17 Reflections and Conclusions 27:56 Contact Information and Closing Remarks --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becky-smith0/message

I think sometimes we are asking ourselves the wrong question as parents. If we think about parenting as a system of rewards and punishments in an attempt to control behavior, we will be asking ourselves "What does my child deserve?" But does our Heavenly Father give us what we deserve? Or does He give us what we need in order to become better? I think it's the latter. (For more about this in a gospel context, go listen to Brooke Snow's podcast episode "Transactional Gospel vs. Unconditional Love." In this episode we'll look at some real life parenting examples of what it looks like to ask the question "What is needed?"

I get to rave about something I've loved in this Bonus Episode. I've become an affiliate for the Creation Coach Certification with Brooke Snow. I became certified last year and loved the program. If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or are Christian, and you love self-development/self-help, you'll love her course. And if you've ever thought about becoming a coach, this might be the program for you. You can sign up now through March 20th 2023 when the program starts. And if you use my link (yes, I'm an affiliate, and yes I get a small commission) you will get to join my Voxer accountability group. All year long you can ask me any question about the course, coaching, business, or get coaching for yourself as well. Everyone who signs up through my link will get access to this group. So you'll also get lots of accountability and encouragement from a small group of people. I have no idea how many people will sign up using my link, so it might just be you and your accountability partner (a bonus for signing up-- you get to designate one person as your partner for no additional cost!) and me! I'll be going through the program again this year with you! I go into way more detail about what I love about the Creation Course and what I loved about the Certification, so you can tell if this is for you right now or not. Feel free to ask me any questions by emailing denita @ denitabremer . com. I'm excited for you if you decide to join this round! Sign up here.

I've been wanting to create and share meditations for a little while, ever since I fell in love with meditation while going through Brooke Snow's Creation Coach Certification program. I realize this podcast is a little rough, there's no intro nor outro, it's totally outside of what I usually do and how I talk about things. I give some slight explanation, but mostly, it's just a meditation I really wanted to share with you. I try to live by the same things I teach, and some of those are: to not overthink just do the things you're scared to do it doesn't have to be perfect to be exactly what it needs to be. Happy New Year, I do wish you all the best year yet.

In my last episode we talked about how our connection to God is constant and unconditional. Even though our thoughts and actions can open or close our heart and mind, God is always there. Said another way, our thoughts and actions can turn us toward God or away from God, but once again, God does not ever leave us. So what do you do when you find yourself totally closed off or turned away? What can you do to open back up again? I want to share with you one of the most important tools in my toolbox. Today's podcast took an unexpected turn. I started out with one intent, but before I knew it I was really addressing a long held false belief. Or dare I say, maybe even a false doctrine? In the very least a misunderstood or mis taught doctrine? I'm getting on my soapbox here so buckle up! I feel like I've been raised to believe that feeling connected to God or having the Spirit with me is conditional. If I was righteous then I could feel the Spirit. If I was obedient, then I would be privileged to have connection with God. The opposite would also be inferred. If I was not righteous or made mistakes or failed or didn't do the checklist of holy habits then I would be left alone without the reward of God's spirit to be with me. God's love and connection were conditional to my actions. This belief has served me well in moments I need the motivation to be righteous and obedient, and it has been dangerous in the moments I mess up and judge myself as undeserving of God's love and connection. In those moments, I feel shut out and alone and truly damned. My progress stops and I feel the need to fix things on my own until I can earn God's love and connection back again. Have you ever felt this way? I know this could be argued either way through scripture, which is probably why I have struggled so much. Through some unexpected experiences, I have come to believe our connection to God is constant and unconditional. This belief serves me on both sides, both in the moments I'm doing well AND in the moments when I'm not, which is one reason I feel this is the greater truth. Listen in. I'd love to know your own thoughts on this topic. SHOW NOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. My Book! Do you ever find yourself feeling completely exhausted physically and emotionally? What about feeling the need to escape your emotions by eating a lot or constantly being on social media? There's a good chance you could be experiencing "parenting burnout." The good news is- there are things you can do to fix this. You don't have to stay stuck and you're not alone! If you're feeling burnt out, first check in with yourself physically. Brooke snow teaches that the four physical fundamentals are eat, move, sleep, and breathe. Next, check in emotionally. Again from Brooke Snow- the four emotional fundamentals are being present, being grateful, being prosperous, and being joyful. Now here's the thing. Our fundamentals are completely in our control. Things like other peoples' emotions and decisions and what they think of us are not. The burnout happens, when we are focusing on those things that are out of control. Tune in to today's episode to figure out how to remedy this and put a stop to the parenting burnout! If you struggle with this, feel free to reach out for a free 30-minute consultation with me and we'll work on it! 2 Nephi 2:25- Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. You are probably familiar with the Law of Moses approach to justice. It's an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. I have always applied my understanding of this phrase to obvious enemies and instances in which one person offends me personally. I've never noticed until recently how I apply this mindset in far more ways than I realized and how it was hurting my relationships. A few weeks ago I read Adam Miller's new book, Original Grace and if you haven't noticed, this book has influenced my podcasts all month long. I'm not a sponsor of the book, but I have been forever changed by it, which is why I can't stop talking about it. After I created my book review episode I have had some personal experiences applying what I have learned that I couldn't help but share. I hope, like me, it helps you have more grace in your everyday home life experiences and closest relationships. SHOWNOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. My Book! Listen to how a race car pit crew can help discover your purpose~ You're listening to the Love Tidbits Podcast, where you'll discover a small, tasty, delightful, bite-sized tidbit of love ~ 'm your host, LeAnn Austin Hey y'all, welcome to Love Tidbits, episode #33: Pit Crew & Purpose Have you ever heard the quote: "Comparison is the thief of joy?" I think that's a pretty common one, that is credited to Theodore Roosevelt. And I agree, when we compare, we despair. Comparison blocks inspiration, clouds our judgment, and feels discouraging. I recently heard Brooke Snow talk about comparison in a way I'd never heard before, and it really resonated with me. It also reminded me of going to the drag races with Jeff. So those of you who have an appreciation for fast cars, this is a fascinating perspective. Think about a race car pit crew. Apparently at some point in the course of a long car race, a race car driver wears down the tires of the car and the tires need to be changed. The changing tires doesn't stop the clock from ticking. The driver needs all four tires changed as fast as possible, so they can get right back on the track. Enter the pick crew. A team of 20 guys and gals, at the ready, who astonishingly change all four tires of the car in less than two seconds. This is a magnificent display of teamwork, focus, and precision. Every person has a very specific purpose. Each member of the pit crew does one job. On each tire, one person removes the bolt, another removes the tire, another puts the new tire on, one person jacks the front, another person jacks the back, one person on each side holds the car steady, and there are spare people in place in case something fails. They work as a team. It is beautiful and brilliant. What they accomplish all together is far better than what they can accomplish separately. But just think how fast this would all fall apart, if the front tire person started watching the rear tire person. Just glancing away would cost precious time for everyone. What if the guy or gal started saying, "Hey, that guy yanks off the tire so much better than I do." What if the tire person looked at the person holding the car steady and thought, "wow, their job is better than mine, all I do is yank off a tire." Every single one of these jobs is completely vital to success. Every single one. If one person gets distracted, or starts to doubt or compare, then it's downhill for everyone. You can't do all the jobs, but you can do your part really well. What if we look at other people as teammates, rather than competitors? What if we're all in this together and we need each other? What if the part we play matters and we matter? It's human nature to compare ourselves, but the more we are aware of what we're thinking, and we accept ourselves right where we are, meaning we know the part we play and we know our purpose. That gives us the power to get out of the stuck, to stop beating ourselves up, and to appreciate all the wonderful things we do now. I love the quote by Bob Goff: "We won't be distracted by comparison if we are captivated with purpose." Hmmm, something to think about. Have a good one y'all ~ and here's to knowing our unique purpose, that we matter, and love. If you're enjoying this podcast, please share and leave a review to help others hear tidbits of love. Do you believe you can receive miracles in your life? Or is it sometimes easier to believe that for other people rather than yourself? Could breath be used as a tool? You're listening to the Love Tidbits Podcast, where you'll discover a small, tasty, delightful, bite-sized tidbit of love ~ I'm your host, LeAnn Austin Hey y'all, welcome to Love Tidbits, episode #31: Just Breathe What do you think when someone tells you, hey take a breath. That's the last thing you want to hear or to do. Well, I've been taking some incredible certification classes from Brooke Snow and Candice Toone. I now have a whole new understanding of breathing, and the powerful effect it has when we're a little more intentional about our breath. I took a few classes in high school and college about our bodies, but didn't remember that the respiratory system is the only system in the body that can be regulated both consciously and unconsciously. You can breathe without thinking about it, and you can breathe on purpose. You can control your breath. And breath is one of the most amazing tools we have for being happy and healthy. I find it interesting that many of the books I read and have spoken about on this podcast, mention breathwork or meditation in some form. I used to think that was a little woo, woo. But now I completely agree that breathing does make you feel better. There's lots of scientific evidence to prove it. Breathing helps to release tension, increase creativity, helps your body detoxify, reduces anxiety, helps you relax, and makes way for clearer thinking. I've also learned that nose breathing is better than mouth breathing, who knew? And most of us are mouth breathers. Very simply, mouth breathing is shallow and causes us to over breath. Nasal breathing or nose breathing, allows for more oxygen to get to active tissues, provides a sense of calm, and allows us to function better. So a really easy way to practice nose breathing is, breathe in through your nose, into your belly, and exhale a little bit longer than you inhaled. Some of you also may have heard of grounding exercises. Grounding exercises are things you can do to bring yourself back to the present moment. They could be quick strategies, like take three deep belly breaths, or longer, more formal exercises like meditation. I have a section now available in my Lovin Me program with some simple breath and grounding exercises. If you want to learn more, join us anytime. If you're breathing, you're feeling, and if you're feeling you're pausing to take better care of yourself. That's what it's all about y'all, loving and taking care of you so that you're well equipped to help other people in your life. I love to just put my hand on my heart, breathe in through my nose, and out through my nose. Just breathing and pausing with my hand on my heart, brings me back to the present and fills me with love. I appreciate this insightful quote by Dan Brule: "Breath is the link between mind and body." Hmmm, something to think about. Have a good one y'all ~ and here's to breathing and love. Brooke is a powerful creator of her life--and in this episode, she will give you tools to create the life and the day you want to have. Brooke says: "My simple life hack, I guess the most important thing for me to simplify life is the practice of meditation and particularly starting and ending my day in a place of stillness and being grounded. And I think the opposite of that...:Life does not feel simple when I am overwhelmed. It doesn't feel simple when I've got a bunch of things running through my head. Maybe I'm feeling anxious about things on my schedule. Maybe I am anxious about things that I'm thinking about from the day before, or like things in the past or things in the future or wanting to address certain challenges that my kids or my family are going through right now, all of that can create a lot of commotion in my mind and in my heart. And even though it might not necessarily be things on a to-do list, anything on my list is going to feel bigger when my mind and heart are in a frenzy. And so my most important thing for simplifying is just, I need to have a practice, a little ritual, a little morning protocol in which I can just quiet." Learn more in this awesome episode! In today's episode we're going to talk about the true nature of God, His abundance, and how His will guides us to receive something even better than we can conceive on our own. Too often when people don't immediately get what they hope for, they give up, believing God doesn't want it for them. This episode reveals how God's will for you is better than you can even imagine...which is probably why we miss receiving sometimes, simply because we're too busy looking for the blessing we think we want instead of being open to something even better.SHOW NOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. What do you want? What is the the desire of your heart? This seems like a simple question, but it is surprisingly hard for many people to answer. Often times, people are more clear on what they don't want than what they do. In this episode we will explore the importance desire plays in creation and hopefully shed some of the sham e and fear that can keep our desires from ever bearing fruit. In this Art of Receiving series, it is likely that you desire future blessings. It's important to know what you desire so you can help participate in the co-creation of those desires coming to pass. In essence we will learn how to "let this desire work in you." so you can receive what your heart truly wants and what our Loving God wants for you too. Welcome to our last episode for the summer! Today we're going to be talking about zooming in and out the focus on our lives. When we're feeling a sense of urgency or anxiety, it can help so much to just zoom out for a bit. We can zoom out anywhere from a few minutes to the span of eternity. Whatever we are worried about is probably going to be just fine! And even if we don't know it, we can trust that Heavenly Father does. Sometimes zooming out feels overwhelming and scary. It's these moments that we can hit the pause button and zoom in. What do you feel right now? What do you see? Hear? Smell? Taste? These small moments where we just commit to being present help us to appreciate that everything is okay right now. These moments bring us joy! As President Russel M. Nelson has said, "My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."(October 2016 General Conference talk "Joy and Spiritual Survival) Here's a link to Brooke Snow's Instagram, who I quoted in today's episode and love and admire! If you're loving the podcast, I would really appreciate if you'd take the time and leave me a review. That's the biggest way to help the podcast grow and reach more people! Thanks so much, and have a great summer!
Is there such a thing as having too much gratitude? The answer may surprise you. Greek Philosopher, Aristotle taught that "any virtue in excess or deficiency can become a vice." Gratitude is an important virtue to a happy and fulfilling life, and yet, as with all virtues, there is an important balance to maintain. In this episode we're going to talk about the feeling that provides the proper balance to gratitude. It's called divine discontent. Is it possible to be grateful and still want more in your life? Absolutely, and I'm going to go as far as to say that the moments we feel divine discontent are fundamental to keep us progressing in life. If you've ever shamed yourself with thoughts such as, "You shouldn't want more, you should just be grateful for what you have..." then this episode will help reframe and empower your own divine discontent to bring you the greater blessings God has in store for you.SHOW NOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. Have you received the blessings you already have in your life? It may sound strange to ask a question like that. If blessings are present, doesn't that infer we have received them? Not necessarily. In Part 2 of The Art of Receiving series, we're going to explore what blocks us from receiving our blessings, and how we can more fully receive what we already have. Spoiler alert, receiving what you already have is preparatory to receiving more...So if there are specific blessings your heart longs for in the future, then you need to start by receiving what you already have. One precedes the other. SHOWNOTES:SHOW NOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. My Book! Available on Amazon! What is the Law of Creation? It's common for people to feel uncomfortable with both compliments and affirmations, and yet the words we say--especially about our personal identity--are fundamental to the Law of Creation. If you're wondering what the Law of Creation is, listen to episodes 95-100 for a deep dive series on how creation works. We block creation if we don't allow ourselves to feel the power words carry. We're going to focus in on how to fully receive the positive words people say to you, and the positive words you can say to yourself to empower you to be a great creator. It's so easy to see black and white thinking in our teenagers, but I think it's equally prevalent in us as parents. Sometimes we get fixated on the rules, and on making sure our kids "do it right." Maybe we think that getting homework done always comes before fun. But then we have a kid who is being crushed under the pressure of perfectionsim, and needs a night off more than he needs another A. Maybe we have a family rule that "we always go to church." But then we have a 17 year old who feels angrier and more alienated every time we force them to go. I get it. Parenting would be so much easier if there were absolutes. If things were simply black and white. I wish we could make the rules and they would always be best for everyone. But that isn't the way life works. Very few things are actually black and white. If you find yourself stuck in a power struggle with your teen, that may be a red flag that you're fixated on a rule, rather than trying to teach a principle. You may be stuck in black and white thinking. If you need help seeing the difference, DM me for a free consultation, or click here. Have a great week! On New Year's Day 2022, President Russell M. Nelson made a post on Instagram. Part of his message read: "Resolve to be resolute. The Lord loves effort. The Lord loves consistency. The Lord loves steadfastness. While we surely will come up short from time to time, our persistent efforts to hear Him and follow the inspiration He gives us will help us to wax strong in the Spirit”. Listen to those words: Resolve, Resolute, Effort, Consistency, and Steadfastness. But how do you keep going to maintain that resolve and resolution with consistency and effort to bring about change? It is the small incremental steps, repeatedly done that make the biggest impact. There are so many great ideas out there, but it's one thing to get the information, and it's quite another to be able to integrate that into your life on a consistent basis to make REAL CHANGE. Enjoy this episode about the tiny habits you can implement on a consistent basis to make changes, increase motivation, willpower, create a new identity, and increase your skill level! The pursuit of happiness is at the core of who we are as humans. I think this is for good reason. We know that "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." Our divine nature, who God created us to be, is joy.We all want to be happy, but so much gets in the way. In Lehi's Vision of the Tree of Life, He describes seeing a tree with fruit that was desirable to make one happy. If we desire happiness ourselves, then I believe there is a lot we can learn from this vision about how to taste of this fruit of happiness and likewise what it is that takes us away.I have a feeling you may never look at the Vision of the Tree of Life quite the same again after this episode. My hope is you will come away with a much clearer vision of how you can taste the fruit of happiness everyday.SHOW NOTES:Living In Your True Identity by Brooke Snow. My Book! (D&C 121)When you're struggling with fear, worry, or anxiety, or any big life trial for that matter, it often doesn't feel like it's a small moment. It feels like its a BIG moment. And a LONG moment. As humans, we experience the full spectrum of emotion, from the depths of despair to the highs of joy. And if we're not intentional, our emotions can swing whatever way our environment is pulling us towards. Today's podcast is all about holding space. “Once there was a boy who lived by the sea.The sea was old and wise.” These words are the beginning of an exquisite new children’s book that is coming out next month, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1419749404/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=3in30podcast-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1419749404&linkId=876e31210b81d38a06ba10f15cd92830 (The Boy and the Sea) written by Camille Andros. Camille has become a personal friend of mine, and so I got to read the book when it was still in PDF form, and it honestly brought tears to my eyes. The illustrations by Amy June Bates are magical, and the message of slowing down and listening to the whisperings inside of your soul is so powerful. Camille is a mother of six who lives in North Carolina. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1419749404/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=3in30podcast-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1419749404&linkId=876e31210b81d38a06ba10f15cd92830 (The Boy and the Sea) is her fifth published children’s book, and I am so excited to talk with her about how to listen to the whisperings of our intuition and follow the pull of the tides that are tugging at our hearts and guiding us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves. *** -3 Takeaways to Find and Listen to your Intuition-Camille sums up a daily practice that we can do to strengthen our connection to our inner voice and to God and to listen to your intuition. Those steps are: 1. Find and trust your inner voice. Carve out time every day to be still and find to your intuition. Try to make this time consistent, whether that’s in the shower, first thing in the morning, after your baby goes down to a nap, or at the beginning of your lunch break at work. Make it a consistent routine to be still, to make a quick gratitude list to get you tuned in, or to visualize being filled up and warmed by divine love. 2. Once you’ve tapped into that inner voice, ask a question. The question that Camille often asks is, "What do I need to know right now?" Then she does her best to empty her mind while keeping that question at the forefront, and she notices the thoughts, feelings, and impressions that she has. 3. Take action on what you learn. Camille says she likes to write down the thoughts that come to her when she asks the question, and then she uses that list of thoughts to create the priorities for her day, week, or month. Sometimes she repeats affirmations that reinforce the message she was given, leaves post-its around the house with reminders, or sets a timer on her phone to go off at certain times during the day to remind her of what she is focusing on and to listen to her intuition. >>>Will you try any of these tips to find and listen to your intuition? Small daily practices often compound into large scale change in our lives. As parents we tell ourselves we "don't have time". Our conversation with Brooke Snow today will challenge that belief. Of all the life changing habits in the world, meditation is right at the top of the list for us at Find the Magic. In this episode, we have an inspiring conversation with author, meditation instructor and advocate Brooke Snow. We also discuss how meditation can help improve all aspects of your life, from your ability to parent with patience, to your ability to handle what life throws at you. Brooke initially discovered the life-saving power of meditation unintentionally while struggling to breathe with blood clots in her lungs in a life-flight helicopter. It wasn’t until later, while living with the PTSD (that can accompany near death experiences) and simultaneously raising her young children, that she truly began to understand what meditation could do. Brooke gives us some wonderful tips on how to incorporate visualization into our practice, as well as how to use the floors and ceilings technique to truly dial in meditation as an easy non-negotiable habit. A few months ago Tawni felt a strong need to study and learn about meditation. She had no idea where this came from but it eventually led her to a Christian Meditation created by Brooke Snow. Tawni and Erica have been taking this course together and have learned that it has been such a powerful tool to connect with yourself, God, and to allow prayer to be more meaningful and intentional. We crossed our fingers and asked Brooke if she might be willing to come share with our listeners some of the most important things we had learned and are beyond grateful to have her as a guest. Brooke shares 3 simple principles of meditation to improve your connection to God, that will have a huge impact on your experience. One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is, “HOW do I find my purpose?” Women tell me that they feel this tug inside to do something deeply meaningful-- whether that’s to dive into a passion project or hobby, to start a business, or to get a job in a field that they would love...and yet they can’t quite put their finger on WHAT it is that they want to do. Finding your life’s purpose...is it just something that sort of happens to you? Or can you actually take steps to figure it out? Brooke Snow is the perfect guest to address this topic! In this episode, you will hear Brooke Snow’s insights on how we can clarify our life’s purpose and pursue it with joy. Brook Snow’s Three Takeaways 1. Pay attention to Curiosity and Desire. 2. Create a timeline of your life-turns, and look for the common themes. 3. Your Life Purpose will always be about helping people. Listen to episode 54 and hear about an experience I had recently in my life. I talk about how I learned more about the enabling power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I also share how the Spirit taught me to give my burdens to the Savior. Thus the enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do and be good and serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity. David A. Bednar Show Notes Listen to the full talk by Elder David A. Bednar called, In the Strength of the Lord,a BYU Speech given October 23, 2001. You can go to Brooke Snow’s website for more info on her course, Christian Mediation, I mentioned in the episode. The scripture “My yoke is easy and my burden is light” can be found in Matthew 11:30. Meditating is a GAME CHANGER (it has been for me). I believe the quality of our lives (which is really the quality of our emotions), can be DRAMATICALLY improved by taking time to meditate. "The soul always knows how to heal itself; the challenge is to silence the mind." Here's why I meditate (and think everyone should): It helps us access our inner wisdom It helps us have higher quality emotions, which gives us a higher quality of life It helps us to be present in the here and now, which I believe is required for receiving personal revelation Check out Brooke Snow's 40-day Christian Meditation Challenge HERE. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/michelle48/message
Today is the first in a five-week series of podcast episodes I will be doing. Each episode will be centered around a different way you can become more spiritually minded. Today’s episode gives you an introduction to the series. I also dive in to the first topic: seek a relationship with God. Have You Asked These Questions? If you’ve ever asked yourself any of these questions, you will want to listen to this 5 episode series: How does God communicate with me? How do I build a closer relationship with God? How do I know when I’m being led by the spirit? What if I’m doing everything I can and I still don’t feel God in my life? Get the Free Printable Each episode has a printable to help you to ponder and act on the weekly topic. You can download the printable HERE. The download is one document that includes all the printables for the 5 weeks. Five Ways to Become More Spiritually Minded Here are the topics we will be covering along with the episode number and date: Episode 42: Seek a Relationship with God – 02/20/19 Episode 43: Build Spiritual Reserves – 02/27/19 Episode 44: Use God as a Guide – 03/06/19 Episode 45: Act on Promptings Felt from God – 03/13/19 Episode 46: Record Thoughts from God – 03/20/19 Each of the topics is based on a portion of this quote from President Russell M. Nelson’s talk in April 2018, Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives. Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will grow into the principle of revelation. Does God really want to speak to you? Yes! Seek a Relationship with God Today’s topic is seek a relationship with God and this is the part of the quote by President Nelson I am emphasizing today: Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! You’ll hear my experiences with learning to listen to God, a short clip from a previous guest, Brooke Snow, sharing how she has learned to reimagine prayer and my thoughts on writing prayers as a way to communicate more fully with God. I hope you will follow along for this five episode series. Overall, I hope you will learn how God speaks to you and how you can have a deeper relationship with Him. This is a good one! It' s one of my favorite topics; this episode discusses the role of agency in creating our life experiences. Guys, it's all about AGENCY! We are agents to ACT (which means we can direct what's going on in our minds), rather than to be acted upon (living by defaults of an unmanaged mind --which I believe is the "natural man"). Questions to ask yourself each morning: (These direct our minds, and create more of the life experiences we want--from Tony Robbins, via Ed Mylett's podcast episode "Unlocking Your Success Code") What am I HAPPY about in my life right now? What about that makes me happy? How does it make me feel? What am I EXCITED about in my life right now? What about that makes me excited? How does it make me feel? What am PROUD of in my life right now? What about it makes me proud? How does it make me feel? What am I am GRATEFUL for in my life right now? What about that make me grateful? How does that make me feel? What am I ENJOYING most in my life right now? What about that do I enjoy? How does it make me feel? What am I COMMITTED to in my life right now? What about that makes me committed? How does it make me feel? Who do I LOVE? Who loves me? What about that makes me loving? How does that make me feel? Questions to ask each evening: What have I given today? In what ways have I been a giver? What did I learn today? How had today added to the quality of my life? How can I use today as an investment in my future? If you've ever wanted to go deeper in your relationship with God, today's episode is for you. In this episode of The Spiritually Minded Mom Podcast, I interview Brooke Snow. Brooke teaches others how to apply spirituality to everyday life. Personally, Brooke views daily repentance and meditation as ways to know God more fully. I have followed Brooke for several years and recently read her new book Living in Your True Identity (which I HIGHLY recommend). She has helped me so much, and I am excited to share this interview with you. Like most mothers, Brooke has struggled in the past with comparison in motherhood. She gives some practical things she has done to combat those feelings. Brooke talks a lot about "self-care," how her view on it has recently changed, and what it means for her. She said, "Self care is being nurturing to you, and loving to you, and in a way that helps you to develop into who the Lord created you to be." She gives advice and shares some meaningful analogies to help you visualize how daily self-care is the best way to sustain constant growth. Next, Brooke shares some questions she brings to the Lord every single day while praying. These questions help her repent and know what the next step the Lord wants her to take is. She shares how asking for the next "step" rather than the whole picture has helped her progress and feel the Lord's guidance. Finally, she concludes by sharing how she has seen God as her partner in motherhood and how she has come to know him on a deeper level through prayer. Show Notes Brooke mentioned her online class about prayer and meditation called Christian Meditation. You can go hereto learn more. She also has a new class that is free called How the Law of Attraction Fits in the Gospel. Go here to register for this class.
